0:01 Let's move on to the next question. Go
0:04 ahead. Hi, my name is Jenny. I'm a
0:06 sophomore and this is for all three of
0:09 you. Can you say in one sentence or less what
0:11 what
0:14 um you know what I mean? Can you say why
0:16 America is the greatest country in the world?
0:18 world?
0:22 Diversity and opportunity. Lewis, uh
0:24 freedom and freedom. So, let's keep it
0:27 that way. Well,
0:29 Well,
0:35 No, I'm going to hold you to an answer
0:38 on that. What makes America the greatest
0:44 Well, Lewis and Sharon said it.
0:46 Diversity and opportunity and freedom
0:59 I'm not letting you go back to the
1:14 Well, our Constitution is a masterpiece.
1:16 James Madison was a genius. The
1:18 Declaration of Independence is for me
1:19 the single greatest piece of American writing.
1:26 You don't look satisfied.
1:28 One's a set of laws and the other's a
1:30 declaration of war. I want a human
1:38 What about the people? Why is not the
1:39 greatest country in the world,
1:48 You're saying yes.
1:50 Let's talk about fine Sharon. The NEA is
1:52 a loser. Yeah, it accounts for a penny
1:54 out of our paycheck, but he gets to hit
1:55 you with it anytime he wants. It doesn't
1:57 cost money. It costs boats. It costs
1:59 airtime and column inches. You know why
2:00 people don't like liberals? Cuz they
2:03 lose. If liberals are so [ __ ] smart,
2:05 how come they lose so goddamn always?
2:06 And with a straight face, you're going
2:09 to tell students that America is so star
2:10 spangled awesome that we're the only
2:12 ones in the world who have freedom.
2:15 Canada has freedom. Japan has freedom.
2:18 The UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain,
2:21 Australia, Belgium has freedom. So 207
2:23 sovereign states in the world, like 180
2:25 of them have freedom. And yeah, you uh
2:27 sorority girl, just in case you
2:29 accidentally wander into a voting booth
2:30 one day, there's some things you should
2:31 know. And one of them is there is
2:33 absolutely no evidence to support the
2:34 statement that we're the greatest
2:36 country in the world. We're seventh in
2:39 literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science,
2:42 49th in life expectancy, 178th in infant
2:44 mortality, third in median household
2:46 income, number four in labor force, and
2:47 number four in exports. We lead the
2:50 world in only three categories. Number
2:52 of incarcerated citizens per capita,
2:53 number of adults who believe angels are
2:55 real, and defense spending, where we
2:57 spend more than the next 26 countries
2:59 combined, 25 of whom are allies. Now,
3:00 none of this is the fault of a
3:02 20-year-old college student. But you
3:03 nonetheless are without a doubt a member
3:06 of the worst period generation period
3:08 ever. Period. So, when you ask what
3:10 makes us the greatest country in the
3:11 world, I don't know what the [ __ ] you're
3:29 Sure used to be.
3:32 We stood up for what was right.
3:34 We fought for moral reasons. We passed
3:36 laws, struck down laws for moral
3:38 reasons. We waged wars on poverty, not
3:40 poor people.
3:42 We sacrificed. We cared about our
3:44 neighbors. We put our money where our
3:46 mouths were, and we never beat our
3:48 chest. We built great big things, made
3:51 ungodly technological advances, explored
3:54 the universe, cured diseas, and we
3:56 cultivated the world's greatest artists
4:03 We reached for the stars, [Music]
4:05 [Music]
4:07 acted like men. We aspired to
4:08 intelligence. We didn't belittle it. It
4:10 didn't make us feel inferior. [Music]
4:12 [Music]
4:14 We didn't identify ourselves by who we
4:15 voted for in the last election. And we
4:22 [Music]
4:24 We were able to be all these things and
4:25 do all these things because we were informed
4:28 informed
4:35 First step in solving any problem is
4:39 recognizing there is one. America
4:41 is not the greatest country in the world anymore.
