0:03 from textile college a student of first
0:06 semester and today on 10th December I'm
0:08 here to take a small interview for a
0:10 small project of the model for site
0:13 development to begin now could you
0:15 please introduce yourself by your name
0:18 and your job that you are actually doing
0:21 >> uh my name is Mishnet I'm a resident of
0:24 Kakandu I work here at Kumas as a tech
0:28 lead so I look at overall J operations
0:30 and uh see if there are any technical
0:32 issues the team is facing manage server
0:36 side issues and uh that
0:38 >> and now sir could you please tell me
0:40 what really inspired you to choose this
0:45 career uh I am I I like building stuffs
0:47 first and foremost and I also love
0:50 solving problems so as a young kid I
0:52 always wanted to build something that
0:54 can be of help to uh people around me
0:59 and to the community so uh to get there
1:02 I really wanted to use the tech space
1:04 and I was very much enthusiastic about
1:07 computers. Uh so I chose this field.
1:09 >> Okay. Going towards your prof
1:11 professional journey, are you really
1:14 happy with the decision choosing this
1:16 field because not everyone turn their
1:19 passion into professionalism these days.
1:21 So could you please tell me are you
1:24 really satisfied with this job? Uh yeah,
1:27 I'm very pretty much satisfied with uh
1:28 the work that I'm doing and the
1:31 profession that I chose. Uh I always
1:33 wanted to do be in the tech space, be in
1:36 the computer science uh business and uh
1:38 job. So I'm very pretty much happy with
1:41 it. I get to meet a lot of people, get
1:45 to learn a lot every day and I get to uh
1:48 share ideas and uh see how we can
1:51 transform the world just using tech as a
1:53 small space. So yeah, I'm very much
1:53 happy with that.
1:56 >> Is it really helpful for you or
1:59 impactful for you connecting with more
2:02 people and does it really influence your resolve?
2:02 resolve?
2:04 >> It's it's not only about me working,
2:07 it's all also about people sharing ideas
2:10 with me. So I get to learn every new
2:13 things every day. Uh be it tech, be it
2:15 management. We have seniors here who
2:18 always like motivate me to be at my
2:20 best. So yeah, it's it's very
2:22 influential. seniors are really helping
2:24 you towards your goal.
2:27 >> Now can I ask you what was your first
2:30 job and the experience you get there?
2:32 >> My first job was tutor. I think I was a
2:34 tutor personally. I used to teach kids
2:37 around by locality math science and
2:41 stuff like that. So I I I did that just
2:44 to pay my like food bills and all. >> Okay.
2:44 >> Okay.
2:47 >> So for pocket money I did that. uh only
2:49 after my masters I started really
2:52 getting into this uh tech job.
2:54 >> Did you really imagine that you will be
2:56 working in this position today when you
2:59 were teaching the kids in your locality?
3:02 >> Uh no I I had that dream but I didn't
3:04 know if it would come true. I might have
3:07 probably gone like abroad and work there
3:08 or something like that.
3:10 >> But to have this I I didn't really like
3:13 imagine myself in this position. I
3:16 imagine myself as a developer but to
3:19 have reached uh I have been CTO in one
3:21 of the company I have been a tech lead
3:23 here so to have reached this position I
3:24 have never done
3:28 >> okay now talking about few skills the
3:31 essential skills that you learned along
3:33 the way into this IT field could you
3:35 please briefly tell something about the
3:37 skills you gain here
3:40 >> uh well in talking about just the
3:44 technology space I have gained skills on
3:46 development programming um a lot of
3:51 languages like Lav PHP uh Ruby um JS
3:56 NexJS uh JS uh along with that being on
3:58 deck I have gained knowledge about
4:02 server side access server management um and
4:04 and
4:07 uh apart from that I think uh management
4:09 skills has also helped like has has
4:11 grown on me these days because I'm
4:12 managing a team right Now I'm managing
4:14 the technical aspect of things. Instead
4:16 of being like hands-on on the technical
4:18 aspect, I'm just more into management
4:19 these days.
4:21 >> So on management side, I'm managing a
4:24 team of like six, seven people here and
4:27 managing myself and my work and mostly
4:29 management is also like some skill that
4:32 I've grown into account.
4:35 Moreover going a little deep towards
4:37 your challenges and struggle. You told
4:41 me that you you
4:44 learning multiple skills right. So did
4:46 you ever
4:49 faced any problems while doing those works?
4:51 works?
4:56 >> Uh yeah there had been problems. U
4:58 maybe I think it's mostly overthinking
5:01 and self sabot sabotage kind of thing. Yes.
5:01 Yes.
5:03 >> Uh so I needed to get out of that head
5:06 space and I needed to like keeping on
5:08 with my work. There are family issues as
5:11 well like financial problems like me not
5:13 being able to me having to depend on
5:16 family for educational uh fees and all
5:19 but then to manage my own expenses my
5:22 own having fun time outs with friends
5:24 and all I needed to work on that. um in
5:27 tech space I think u the companies and
5:29 the people sometimes you you need to
5:30 deal with toxic people sometimes you
5:34 need to um you know figure out ways that
5:36 uh you need to try to figure out ways
5:37 but you just can't get the problem
5:40 solved and and those kind of issues
5:43 based a lot but yeah it was an experience
5:44 experience
5:46 >> but ultimately at some point the
5:48 financial struggles really kills a
5:50 person dreams wishes
5:52 >> yeah so how did you overcome those
5:55 challenges is uh I just stayed
5:57 consistent. I think I there have been
5:59 times in my life where people have been
6:01 like don't use space, don't do this and
6:03 they used to just do business or do a
6:05 safe recovery job and stuff like that.
6:08 But I was consistent on fulfilling my
6:12 dream and I just uh persevered. I uh
6:14 every day I against all odds I just
6:15 decided I I want to do this so I'll do
6:18 this and uh yeah it's mostly consistency
6:19 and perseverance.
6:21 >> At the end you never care. >> Yeah.
6:22 >> Yeah.
6:24 So who supported you during the
6:27 difficult times, your work colleagues,
6:30 your parents, families, friends? Uh well
6:33 mostly it's been my peers, my friends
6:36 mostly. Uh being an engineering student,
6:38 I had a lot of engineer friends who
6:41 really supported me and guided me too.
6:43 Uh actually my first job was at my
6:46 friend's place. So I interned at his
6:48 place and he helped me gain this
6:50 knowledge that
6:52 the world has given me programming
6:53 knowledge now I need to give it back. >> Yes.
6:54 >> Yes.
6:55 >> So that really inspired me. So mostly
6:58 it's been my friends and colleagues.
7:00 >> The point where your friend helped me
7:03 into internship. I really grateful for that.
7:03 that.
7:06 >> Yeah. Yeah. I I kind of in a way I owe
7:08 it to him big time owing to that friend
7:11 and they gave me my first job. They
7:14 helped me get uh knowledge and you know
7:16 achieve much bigger jobs and all. So
7:18 yeah, I'm very grateful for that.
7:20 >> It may be the biggest assist that you
7:23 get from your friend right now.
7:26 Furthermore, going a little bit more
7:27 deeper towards your growth and personality,
7:29 personality,
7:32 what personal daily habits really help
7:36 you into your work? I think uh as of now
7:38 I've been too much busy with works only.
7:41 So I don't really get much time to focus
7:44 on other aspects of my life. But uh that
7:46 stresses and all these things are like
7:50 inevitable. So I managed to do breath
7:52 works and meditation every day at least
7:56 for 10 minutes. So I I'm at my like s
7:59 same sanity of my mind so that I don't
8:00 like burst or take a lot of pressure
8:03 into it. So I try to do that. I take
8:05 walks. I
8:07 >> uh manage at least one weekend I manage
8:09 outside with my friends just so that I
8:12 can like be calm and so I that's the
8:13 that I'm doing.
8:16 >> Um the wrist plan is going well for it.
8:18 >> Yeah, it's going it's going okay. I
8:19 still there's still room for
8:21 improvement. I'm still having a lot of
8:23 time a lot of problems dealing with
8:25 stress and all but yeah things are going okay.
8:25 okay.
8:27 >> And what about the motivation? How did
8:29 you really achieve the motivation factors?
8:31 factors?
8:34 >> I think okay I'll be very brutally
8:36 honest. One of the thing is finance
8:39 >> because uh in text I I I won't deny the
8:41 money is really good. Secondly, you get
8:44 to meet people. You get to uh learn new
8:47 things and uh so that is also a
8:48 motivating factor for me and I really
8:50 want to like be in the community and
8:54 help uh change the world, help uh people
8:58 get better jobs, help people uh get idea
9:00 about what they can do and make their
9:02 lives better. So using text space, I
9:03 want to be able to do that in the
9:05 future. That's the grand vision. So that
9:06 really keeps me motivated.
9:08 >> I really hope your grand vision become
9:10 successful one day. Yeah, it is the
9:12 ultimate goal for everyone, everyone who
9:16 is dreaming the same vision. How are you
9:18 balancing your family and work life personally?
9:20 personally?
9:22 >> Well, balance I think it's uh being
9:25 maintained on its own. I really didn't
9:27 have to do a lot to balance it out. So,
9:30 I'm doing 9 to6 here and I am then I'm
9:34 having my own time uh apart from work.
9:38 uh I am living with my family and so I
9:41 get to spend a lot of office time with
9:43 them. I get to spend the office time
9:45 here. I get to spend friendly time on
9:47 the weekends. So that's it's self-managed.
9:48 self-managed.
9:51 We as a student we ourselves need stress
9:54 management. It's a lot of stress when
9:56 the assignment is going around the
9:59 exams. So
10:02 what advice would you give to the
10:04 younger generation like me?
10:07 >> I think uh because I am a bit older so I
10:11 I think I'll say um work on our mental
10:12 health firstly
10:15 >> uh because if if you are not like safe
10:17 here you won't be safe anywhere. So
10:20 firstly I would say that I want young
10:23 people like yourselves to be involved in
10:26 physical activities right and maybe do
10:29 some yoga or meditations or anything
10:33 breath works that that really helps and
10:35 time management and all I think those
10:37 are things as young people you figure it
10:40 out as the time goes but uh you need to
10:42 have at least one activity that will
10:45 keep you grounded. So and I and when it
10:48 comes to tech space I want you guys to
10:50 not just you everyone to spend every day
10:53 learning new things that's the ultimate
10:55 uh task that you can do that will
10:57 improve you achieve your focus. Yeah,
11:00 but frankly as a student if I'm engaging
11:02 in any kind of physical activities I
11:04 would solely focus on just having fun
11:07 rather than focusing on my studies uh or
11:09 my plans dream
11:13 >> and somewhere for doing more physical sports
11:15 sports
11:17 hanging out with friends really
11:19 distracts everyone
11:23 >> from their core work. So what specific
11:25 uh advice would you give to work
11:28 consistently in a disciplined manner?
11:31 >> I think for that you you need to develop
11:32 routine yourself. >> Yes.
11:33 >> Yes.
11:36 >> So you can have fun for 1 hour and you
11:37 can completely have fun. You just don't
11:39 have to think about anything but on the
11:40 next hour when you're studying you just
11:42 have to give your like one hour just for
11:44 study. Don't think about don't think
11:46 about your girlfriends. Don't think
11:48 about your uh you know physical activity
11:51 times. Just work. and on the next hours
11:53 maybe family time you just divide your
11:56 day into this split hours and uh you
11:57 know just focus on that.
11:59 >> Yeah, this is the same message that my
12:01 grandparents my parents are always
12:03 giving me the same statement that you
12:05 just gave me.
12:09 But somewhere I study slightly but focus
12:12 more on having fun playing games.
12:15 >> But I think it's age as well. When I was
12:16 young I was also like that. It took me
12:19 some time. So but I everyone will figure
12:20 it out.
12:23 >> Now finally sir what changes would you
12:26 bring personally and professionally if
12:29 you could go back in time where we as a
12:32 student are standing today? I think I
12:34 would start my tech career even earlier
12:36 as while I was I was only focused on
12:38 studying and then completing my
12:40 bachelors and then getting a job. I
12:42 think I should have started a little bit
12:44 earlier so that I could have done a
12:45 little bit more than I've already done
12:49 right now. Um and I think if I could go
12:53 back in time I would mostly learn all
12:54 those things. I I learned a lot of tech
12:58 stuffs much later in my life uh after my
13:00 engineering. So I would have like
13:02 learned those gained those skills back
13:04 then and maybe did some internship back
13:07 then while I was studying so that after
13:10 I had completed my bers I would have
13:15 like a job ready for me to go to. So
13:18 >> so doing and learning those multiple
13:20 tech stops
13:23 >> did it really ever hamper your personal
13:27 timing with your friends parents?
13:30 Yeah, it kind of did like when I was
13:33 learning uh I needed to give a lot of
13:35 time there so that I could like be ready
13:37 for the job. So my family time, my
13:39 friends time, my hanging out times those
13:41 were hampered but I think that is
13:43 something that uh everyone used to
13:47 sacrifice. So the the fun time
13:49 >> yeah it was restricted for you
13:50 >> uh in a way but also
13:54 >> under your dreams take that's
13:55 that's
13:59 >> what advice would you give to the
14:02 student like me who wants to get inside
14:06 tech stop and is there any scope uh
14:10 because in today world everything is
14:13 under technology
14:17 does it really help a student like me if
14:20 I'm generally focusing on the IT
14:22 sectors, the technological sectors that
14:27 is really help a student working out a
14:30 bachelor's degree in Nepal. Uh
14:33 to answer your question firstly, I think
14:38 uh as an advice um I think everyone as
14:41 yourself students should uh just like
14:44 the way I said before uh studying you
14:46 should also like be career orientated
14:48 oriented and learn a lot of uh tech
14:51 stuffs that's is going to help you in
14:54 your career firstly secondly uh yeah
14:56 tech space is growing it's always
14:58 growing it will always keep on growing
15:00 so there's no limitation uh there are
15:04 new stuffs coming every every like six
15:08 months right so there was um there was
15:09 big cryptocurrency at one point there
15:11 was NFTs at one point there are
15:14 blockchain technologies AI web three. So
15:16 along with this there are new tech
15:18 coming every day. So if you can get your
15:21 hands into anything new um just do it
15:24 and I think yeah there there's a lot of
15:28 scope even in Nepal you can be studying
15:30 right now in Nepal and then dreaming of
15:33 a future in tech uh there are no like no
15:37 hold for that so I think yeah there's a
15:39 lot of scope there so yeah
15:41 >> yeah what uh what do you think when people
15:43 people
15:48 here today are uh
15:50 solely want to
15:53 find that shortcut into the direct point
15:57 where they ultimately want to go.
15:59 Is it really necessary to find the
16:01 shortcut and go along the way or gradually
16:03 gradually
16:06 improve oneself to achieve those dreams
16:09 and wants? Yeah, I think you should like
16:11 never you should always say no shortcuts
16:14 and secondly yeah you should go
16:16 gradually one by one step by step take
16:17 the basics first you know if you can't
16:19 stick to the basics you will not be able
16:21 to figure out um and if you don't know
16:24 how to put the thread onto the needle
16:25 you will not know how to sew your
16:27 clothes so yeah you have to stick to the basics
16:28 basics
16:31 >> but um everyone is comparing today right
16:35 >> yeah so uh someone gets a little too
16:37 faster someone
16:40 are left behind
16:45 and for the one who is left behind.
16:49 Uh they're really stressing out
16:52 as a module as a discussion here for the
16:55 personality development. What can the
16:59 one who left behind think of to
17:01 gradually become normal and go in a
17:05 stable pace to achieve his her goal in
17:09 the future? uh firstly uh the stress
17:11 management and emotional feelings
17:13 management that comes into play. Once
17:15 you're you have dealt with that you need
17:18 to just keep on learning and growing
17:21 every day. You can't like you can't say
17:23 uh yes to everything. You just need to
17:26 say yes to your dreams and your vision
17:28 for that. So just work on it every day
17:31 consistently. It will take six months
17:32 maybe maybe a year it will take maybe
17:34 you know your your friends will move
17:35 forward but you'll be a little bit
17:38 behind but in those year that you worked
17:39 on the next year you can always like
17:42 punch harder and like get a job
17:44 >> yeah but the comparison is the
17:47 comparison is real right now in context
17:50 of India many youngster are stressing
17:53 out many suicidal cases are happening
17:56 due to lack of stress management lack of
17:59 awareness into the mental health.
18:02 So, it's a really
18:05 a real topic to talk about in today headlines.
18:07 headlines.
18:09 Do you really think
18:13 it continuous stress under a person
18:17 mentality will disrupt their life or
18:22 they may distract their ultimate goal?
18:24 >> Yeah, that happens. Uh if I can share
18:26 you my personal story, there was a point
18:29 in my life where I had I had chronic
18:32 stress disorder. So I almost had to I I
18:34 did take some medication but I knew that
18:36 I'll be dependent on it so I shouldn't
18:38 take it. So I consulted a lot of
18:41 doctors, neuroscientists and all and I
18:44 got out of it. So it is I
18:47 uh am a living proof that can say that
18:50 it's easy to like get into those um
18:52 stressful situations and dissolve your life.
18:52 life.
18:55 But then there's also
18:57 way there are also ways that you can get
18:59 out of it and then just work on it. So
19:02 it's uh yeah comparison is there there
19:04 is um you know the space is fastly
19:07 growing and people will feel left behind
19:09 that is uh that's that's pretty much
19:12 normal as of now. Uh but if you just
19:16 keep consistency I think um being left
19:18 behind and being successful are two
19:20 different things. Yeah, you can be left
19:22 but you can still have a successful career.
19:24 career.
19:26 >> So my friends they they have they are at
19:28 like the top of their fields right now
19:31 and I'm um well I'm also doing good. Uh
19:33 but I
19:34 don't think competitively yeah they're
19:36 doing very well than me but I also feel
19:39 like I'm doing very well too.
19:42 Sir, do you think that uh talking about
19:46 stress the tension here inside your head
19:49 with parents
19:52 do they really understand today's kids
19:54 the parents? Uh yeah in today's
19:56 generation it's a bit difficult to say
19:58 that uh not all parents are very
20:00 understanding about that right
20:05 >> uh so me and my people from my age group
20:07 they really can't share these things
20:09 with their parents I think it's the same
20:10 for you guys as well
20:12 >> uh so I think for that you need to have
20:15 someone who someone um you can call your
20:18 brother or your cousins or anyone who
20:20 who can really understand you need to
20:22 have that partner in your life you need
20:24 to have friend in your life with you.
20:25 You can be completely vulnerable and
20:28 share your stuff. Uh and I think you can
20:30 get out of all the stresses if you have
20:32 you know these few people that are
20:34 really interesting and really
20:37 contributing to your life. Um but yeah
20:38 when you talk about parents I don't
20:41 think like it's very 100% that they will
20:43 understand your issues.
20:44 >> Yeah. But
20:47 the parent gives the true advices to
20:49 their children which are really safe for
20:52 them, good for them. And
20:54 And
20:56 do you really
20:59 feel happy when you look back towards
21:02 your life journey from where you started
21:06 to where you are here right now?
21:09 Yeah, there was a point in my life where
21:11 where I didn't like really feel happy.
21:13 But now that I have reached her, I feel
21:15 like all those experiences, good or bad,
21:18 they made me this guy today. And I I
21:20 still need like I still have to improve
21:23 a lot of things. But to have become this
21:25 because of those experiences, bad
21:27 experiences, good experiences, uh I
21:29 think that makes me happy.
21:32 >> Under the influence of bad things that
21:35 happened to you, did
21:38 they really made you ever feel ever made
21:40 you feel to give off?
21:44 >> Uh yeah, that had happened once um that
21:46 I really wanted to give up and leave
21:47 everything behind and like switch
21:50 careers maybe someday or do completely
21:53 different things. Uh but uh I think
21:56 ultimately seeing people go through the
21:58 same things that I go through and me
22:00 wanting to help them get out of it
22:02 really like kept me grounded and kept me
22:04 wanted to work in this space so that I
22:06 could be of help to be of service to all
22:07 of you.
22:10 >> Thank you. So
22:12 you are really satisfied with your job
22:16 right and have you ever
22:21 imagined or think of if some days in
22:27 future if a certain overload of work
22:31 will occur to you and it may wash you out.
22:33 out.
22:34 uh I'm not quite worried about that
22:36 because I think I've already been
22:38 through those phases and I can deal with
22:40 things better. I think as time grows uh
22:42 your experience on those things also
22:45 grows. So having dealt with all those uh
22:47 stressful moments, workloads and all uh
22:49 I think now I know better how to manage
22:52 it. Uh as if I was younger maybe I
22:53 wouldn't have been able to manage it
22:55 better. But having gone through all
22:57 those workloads and all now I know how
22:58 to manage it better. So I don't think in
23:00 the future even if like even more
23:03 workload comes into my way. Uh I don't
23:06 think I'll be like too much down on it.
23:09 So I I think I can handle them as uh as
23:10 it comes.
23:12 >> Okay. Finally,
23:16 like you, similar to you, what qualities
23:19 should young people develop today to to
23:24 be like you or to work constantly even
23:26 there is a lot of influence of the bad
23:29 things on their life.
23:31 >> Uh I think one of the things that I
23:33 didn't develop myself back then was
23:37 communication skills. Uh I would be very
23:39 anxious about these situations. So I
23:41 think uh young people should focus on
23:43 communications. Um communication if it
23:46 is done well I think you can land
23:48 brilliant opportunities in the in any
23:52 space. Uh and apart from that well
23:55 educational education wise I think the
23:57 degree is important but what you do and
24:00 what you learn really define your skill.
24:03 So more than grades I want young people
24:06 and students to focus on skills. So yeah
24:08 skill learning and communication skills.
24:10 the statistics I recommend that people
24:11 do it every
24:14 >> so they are linked with this skills over grade
24:15 grade
24:18 >> okay even this is my first time taking
24:21 an interview of anyone like you I'm
24:24 really a little bit nervous and I'm not
24:25 even speaking fluently right
24:27 >> no it's a weird
24:30 >> sometimes I wish and I really want that
24:32 I'll be
24:35 speaking frequently fluently in English
24:38 um developing my communication skills is
24:42 managing my stress lower
24:45 finally to complete this interview.
24:47 How are you really feeling now? Talk
24:49 about your personal journey, your
24:51 struggles, challenges.
24:54 >> Yeah, I I feel good having I feel good
24:57 because I could share my story firstly
25:00 and secondly I feel good because I get
25:02 to star my knowledge upon you guys so
25:03 that you can develop yourself better.
25:05 you so that you guys don't make the same
25:07 mistakes that I made and so that you
25:11 guys can uh learn even better than I did
25:14 in my past. So yeah, I feel good to be
25:17 of help to you guys at least. So yeah.
25:19 >> Okay. So now I think it's time to wrap
25:22 up the interview. So final message if
25:24 you give to me,
25:26 >> uh keep doing what you're doing. That's
25:27 all I say. Keep doing what you're doing.
25:30 It's going good. Uh don't let like
25:33 comparison and stresses get to you. just
25:36 do your thing. There's even if it's even
25:37 even if you feel left back worried
25:40 sometimes it's okay it's a normal human being
25:42 being
25:45 and uh regarding text space yeah things
25:47 are always growing so keep learning keep
25:49 yourself updated every day read tech
25:52 news like just don't get into just into
25:56 work uh look at the entire world and
25:58 like see what's going on in the tech
26:00 space right now uh and other than that
26:03 yeah man yourself on like stresses and
26:05 things Um other than that I think you
26:06 guys are students, you guys are young,
26:07 you guys have a lot of energy. I think
26:10 you guys can do a lot you can you can
26:11 achieve a lot more than I've ever
26:13 achieved. So yeah all the best on that.
26:15 >> Thank you sir. I'm really grateful to
26:18 have you on my interview. Thank you. I
26:20 think I have learned a lot from you.
26:22 Thank you sir. I hope I'll meet you
26:26 again to learn new skills, new ideas.
26:27 Thank you for everything sir. Very
26:31 grateful for you. Thank you.
