Hello and welcome back to English
Fluency Teacher. Before we start
practicing, just pause for a moment and
think about this question.
How often do the right English words
stay in the mind but disappear the
moment it's time to speak?
Many learners understand a lot of
vocabulary and grammar, but when a real
person is in front of them, a barista at
a cafe, a co-orker at the office, a
friend they haven't seen in a while, or
a colleague calling about a project, the
brain suddenly freezes.
That's not because the English is bad.
It's usually because the mouth and the
ears haven't had enough real
conversation practice. That's where
shadowing comes in. Shadowing is like a
workout for English speaking. Listen to
a sentence, then repeat it out loud,
copying the rhythm, pronunciation, and emotion.
emotion.
But today, we're going one step further.
In this video, we're going to shadow
both sides of real conversations. Not
just I sentences, not just random
phrases, but full mini dialogues. what
one person says and how the other person responds.
responds.
When both sides are shadowed, the ear
gets used to natural back and forth
rhythm. The mouth learns common patterns
and expressions, and the brain starts to
react automatically instead of
translating every word. Here's how to
practice with this video. I will speak
at a natural speed. I will say each
sentence two times. After each sentence,
there will be a pause. During the pause,
repeat the sentence out loud. Try to
open the mouth fully. Match the rhythm
and music of the sentence and imagine
really standing in that cafe, sitting in
that office, meeting that friend, or
holding that phone in the hand.
In today's practice, there will be four
conversation scenes. At a cafe, at the
office, meeting a friend, and a phone
call with a colleague. By the end of
this video, there will be practice of
100 real sentences that can be used in
everyday English.
Let's begin this two-sided shadowing
practice together with English fluency teacher.
