1:08 we're going to have losses we're going
1:10 to have successes we're going to have
1:13 failures we're going to have good nights
1:14 we're going to have bad nights we're
1:15 going to have good relationships we're
1:16 going to have bad relationships we're
1:19 going to have good ideas and bad ideas
1:20 we're going to make money we're going to
1:21 lose money all these things are going to
1:25 happen and if you oscillate emotionally
1:27 up and down drastically it's going to be
1:30 problematic Embrace those emotions
1:33 but don't let those emotions embrace you
1:36 keep pushing through things that suck
1:38 this is a very difficult thing to do
1:39 because it
1:41 hurts I'm going to go forward I'm not
1:43 going to quit so I'm going to go forward

1:49 on when you talk to people that went to
1:52 Seal training that didn't make it most
1:56 of the time it's some reason there's a
2:00 medical reason there's a family problem
2:01 there's very few people that look at you
2:04 and say oh I quit cuz it sucked which is
2:06 what happens to the vast majority of
2:07 people the vast majority of people that
2:09 don't make it through SEAL training they
2:17 quit your excuses will destroy you and
2:19 take everything that you ever wanted
2:22 from you if you let
2:24 them when your excuses make you feel a
2:27 little bit better about the fact that
2:30 you didn't execute on what you needed to
2:32 execute on then they can make you feel
2:34 better but they're not helping you
2:36 they're not helping you at
2:40 all this went wrong this failed didn't
2:42 accomplish this and it's not the fault
2:44 of my boss it's not the fault of my
2:45 girlfriend it's not the fault of my
2:47 parents it's not the fault of the
2:49 weather it's my
2:51 fault and I'm going to take ownership of
2:52 it and I'm going to fix it that's what
2:55 extreme ownership is because when you
2:57 look around at your life and you look
3:00 around at your job and your financial
3:02 situation and your relationship and your
3:04 physical health when you look at all
3:06 those things and all the problems that
3:08 you may have with those things and you
3:11 say the reason I have all those
3:14 problems is because of me that can hurt
3:16 that can
3:19 sting and a lot of times our ego rejects
3:23 that and makes excuses and lies and then
3:25 we don't have to change anything and
3:27 then nothing
3:30 changes when the excuses all go away way
3:32 and people can actually confront the
3:36 fact that this is all because of me it
3:40 hurts but is also unbelievably
3:42 empowering because the more discipline
3:43 you have in your life the more freedom
3:45 you will end up
3:51 with so if you lack the discipline to
3:54 exercise and eat healthy you will end up
3:57 being a slave to
4:01 disease if you lack the discipline to
4:04 work hard save your money you will end
4:07 up a slave to
4:11 finances if you lack the discipline to
4:14 manage your time correctly you will end
4:17 up with no free time if you have
4:19 self-discipline if you have the
4:20 discipline to save your money and work
4:23 hard and invest your money properly if
4:26 you have the discipline to manage your
4:27 time correctly and not waste a bunch of
4:30 time if you have the discipline to
4:32 exercise and eat healthy you will end up with
4:33 with
4:36 freedom and you're going to start to
4:39 progress in every aspect of your life
4:41 and you'll see that if you have that
4:43 kind of discipline right now you're
4:46 going to end up with freedom if you have
4:50 discipline you will attain
4:52 freedom go try and accomplish something
4:54 that's hard you may win you may lose you
4:56 may succeed you may fail I'll tell you
4:59 what you'll be better and if you don't
5:01 have that kind of discipline and you
5:05 don't work hard and you don't exercise
5:08 and you don't apply yourself you're
5:13 Shackled so if you're in the woods and
5:15 you don't know where to
5:17 go start
5:19 walking you got to start walking cuz the
5:21 perspective is not going to change you
5:23 have to start moving
5:26 forward but standing there lost and not
5:29 doing anything is just waiting to die
5:32 waiting to starve to death don't let that
5:38 happen I think it's really important
5:41 because as men we we don't we get
5:44 conflicting messages about emotion and
5:46 how to express it and what that looks
5:48 like and there's a lot of men struggling
5:52 right now every human faces challenges
5:54 and you don't know what they've been
5:56 through suppressing them isn't going to
5:59 help and nor is letting them run your
6:01 life because you're sad now you're going
6:02 to make a bunch of bad decisions cuz
6:04 you're sad no no it doesn't doesn't work
6:06 like that doesn't work like that you're
6:09 sad okay you get emotional sometimes
6:12 okay got it now get control of your
6:15 emotions and carry on with your
6:17 life and sometimes you're going to get
6:22 waves and that's
6:26 okay oh I'm having an emotional moment
6:27 right now there's something wrong with
6:29 me no there's nothing wrong with you
6:31 there nothing wrong with you the other
6:33 extreme is oh I'm letting my emotions
6:35 run my life and I'm making a bunch of
6:38 bad decisions and my excuse is well you
6:40 know I lost some friends or I had this
6:42 traumatic experience happen to me that's
6:44 why I'm doing that's just an excuse and
6:47 it's a very easy excuse guess what it's
6:51 time to carry on remember don't dwell
6:59 life if you are in the problem you won't
7:00 see the solution to the problem take a
7:04 step back detach from the chaos detach
7:06 from the Mayhem detach from your
7:09 emotions detach from your ego and be
7:12 able to assess the best way to execute
7:14 that is the job of a
7:18 leader if you take any trait of a human
7:20 being and you take it to an extreme
7:22 masculine or feminine or otherwise you
7:24 take it to an extreme it's it's going to
7:27 be a problem is it good to have no
7:29 emotions whatsoever no that's called a
7:32 sociopath is it good to let your
7:35 emotions run your life and make your
7:36 decisions based on your emotions no
7:37 that's not good either what do we want
7:40 to be as a as a human as a man want to be
7:42 be
7:44 balanced it's it's much easier to be
7:46 extreme it's it's it's much easier to
7:49 say oh no emotions cool and turn them
7:53 off that's easier or or a total emotion
7:56 Mayhem that's easier it's harder to find
7:58 balance it's harder to find balance in
8:00 business it's harder find balance in
8:02 life is hard to find balance but you
