0:02 Dis, I suppose this one's a real
0:04 disappointment, especially after
0:05 Saturday. Just your thoughts on that
0:07 defeat to win.
0:09 >> First of all, got to give them credit.
0:10 They're definitely the best side that
0:12 we've played here. Uh, in my opinion,
0:14 they moved the ball really well and the
0:16 momentum of them beating Dartford away
0:20 and and Brentwood away. Uh, you saw
0:21 that. Thought they moved the ball really
0:23 well. Thought they attacked in good numbers.
0:25 numbers.
0:26 Junior and I sensed that something
0:29 wasn't quite right when we came in from
0:31 the warmup. It was a bit off. So, we
0:33 went into the changes, which we never do
0:35 between coming in from the warm-up and
0:38 going out to try and g up a little bit.
0:40 But, you know, first time I've really
0:42 gone at him at half time and at the end
0:44 just said wasn't acceptable. Individual
0:47 performances not good enough. We weren't
0:48 good enough on first connections. We
0:51 lost pretty much every second ball. uh
0:55 we never found the areas that we were
0:56 looking to exploit them for even though
0:58 they were clearly open. We didn't
1:01 understand the use of our fullbacks
1:03 and I guess you could argue maybe that
1:07 that's on us as staff but or me as the
1:09 manager first and foremost what we said
1:11 to him in the change rooms there. We
1:12 haven't done anything tonight that we
1:14 haven't done before. So if you don't
1:16 understand it, you need to kind of look
1:19 at yourself in the mirror. But yeah, we
1:22 it's really it's really really
1:23 disappointing tonight.
1:25 >> I suppose it felt a bit like we were
1:27 kind of second best at every kind of
1:29 moment really with winning the second
1:31 balls and even the first of times. Is
1:33 that how you viewed it? It was very
1:36 similar to when we played them
1:39 earlier on in the season in terms of you
1:40 play on the Saturday, you score four at
1:43 home, the place is absolutely bouncing,
1:44 everybody's buzzing afterwards, you hit
1:47 an adrenaline rush and then 3 days later
1:49 you somehow got to bring yourself back
1:51 down and get on with a football game.
1:52 And we had spells and we played them
1:54 away where we were a little bit all over
1:58 the place. and it's only really happened
2:01 in my opinion probably against White
2:04 Hawk away. So
2:07 yeah, it's it's it isn't one really
2:10 where I I I will dwell on it too much.
2:11 We'll watch it back, but I'm not sure
2:13 we'll do that straight away. We have to
2:15 concentrate on Saturday. But ultimately,
2:17 I just think we as a whole completely
2:19 let ourselves down from from start to finish.
2:20 finish.
2:22 >> You you said you you kind of let into
2:24 ladime. What would you say to them at
2:25 full time in addressing after you climb
2:27 the fans?
2:31 >> It just at times you need leaders and
2:33 that doesn't necessarily have to be a
2:36 voice that can be based on how how you
2:38 perform. I'll never say that we didn't
2:41 try or I'll never say that we quit.
2:44 But when you're chasing and a team's got
2:45 energy and they're celebrating every
2:46 time they make a tackle and every time
2:48 they make a header, which most teams
2:50 only really do when they come here and
2:52 it's being able to match that energy
2:54 because some teams, well, most teams
2:57 only play here once a year. We have to
2:59 deal with that every time we're we're
3:02 we're home and away. And we didn't we
3:04 didn't match the energy. We didn't match
3:06 the aggression. We didn't match the
3:10 fight. and we lost that from top of the
3:12 pitch to the back of the pitch. And when
3:14 that happens, your tactics go out the
3:15 window. It doesn't matter what shape you
3:18 play. It doesn't matter what um style
3:19 you play, it doesn't matter what
3:23 formation you play. It's it you're going
3:25 to get beaten.
3:27 >> Looking ahead then to to Saturday and
3:29 that kind of get bon I suppose in an
3:31 idea, well, you probably want to play it
3:34 tomorrow after tonight, wouldn't you?
3:37 >> Yes and no. Um the difficulty you have
3:39 when you get beat in the manner that you
3:41 got beat is yeah you're you're praying
3:43 for the next game to come round and and
3:50 But at the minute emotions are are high.
3:52 So all I kind of want to do is I say to
3:56 have a shower and get myself to to bed.
3:58 But look we we've got to be better
4:01 because honestly everybody is good in
4:03 this league and everybody can beat
4:06 everybody. And I'm not saying that
4:08 myself or my staff or any of the boys
4:11 underestimate teams, but if we're not
4:13 matching levels of what everybody's
4:15 coming with, you you get beat. You get
4:17 beat. It's from, in my opinion, it's
4:19 it's not often that tactically you you
4:23 win games. It it comes down to part of
4:25 that and then yeah, your energy
4:26 everywhere else. So, we've said to the
4:29 boys, moan now. Moan in the changes
4:31 while you're showering, you get ready,
4:33 go home. when you come in Thursday, they
4:34 have to set the tone and they have to
4:36 set the energy. And that's what our
4:38 culture is based on. It all can't be,
4:40 you know,
4:43 done by the staff. And the same with us.
4:45 We've got to come back with a new energy
4:46 and and look to Burgess Hill and then
4:47 look to Crave Valley and then look to
4:50 hashtag who are games that we feel that
4:51 we can win and games that they'll feel
4:52 that they can win. And you know, if
4:55 we're standing here in 10 days time with
4:56 three wins on the bounce, you can kind
4:58 of brush this one to the side. But terms
5:00 of like the eight or nine games
5:02 unbeaten, I know predominantly draws and
5:03 the way that we play in some of those
5:07 fixtures. Um, yeah, today's a bad way to
5:08 to end that run. Pair
5:10 >> updates. We'll leave it there. We'll
5:11 catch up on Saturday afternoon.
