1:00 praise God hallelujah remember the
1:04 service in the morning at 10:30 which
1:05 would be a little different kind of a
1:08 service and then we'll wait till
1:09 tomorrow night really to get into the
1:12 floor which we feel that God wants us to
1:14 go during this meeting we'll go a little
1:16 different direction tonight because
1:18 we're a week further other folks to get
1:20 in a lot of people's on the way in I
1:22 haven't gotten here yet
1:24 a lot of pastors of course in their own
1:26 services on Sunday but they'll be here
1:29 tomorrow if you have your Bibles tonight
1:31 I want you to open them to three
1:35 openings first the 91st psalm second the
1:38 tenth chapter Luke and then third
1:41 Colossians the second chapter in the
1:46 91st psalm will read the 13th verse thou
1:50 shalt tread upon the lion and adder the
1:52 young lion and the dragon shall trample
1:56 under feet then turning to the New
1:58 Testament to Luke the tenth chapter in
2:02 the nineteenth verse jesus said behold I
2:06 give unto you power to tread on serpents
2:09 and scorpions and over all the power of
2:12 the enemy and nothing
2:16 shall by any means hurt you then turning
2:20 finally to Colossians the second chapter
2:26 and the fifteenth verse talking about
2:28 Christ in his death burial and
2:31 resurrection and having spoiled
2:36 principalities and powers he made a show
2:40 of them openly triumphing over them in
2:45 it hallelujah well if you stop right there
2:46 there
2:48 praise God we could go home and say it's
2:52 good to have been here amen hallelujah
2:56 I'm more and more convinced more
2:59 convinced today than I was yesterday
3:01 more convinced this year than it was
3:05 last year more convinced now than ever
3:11 before that unless we have power to meet
3:14 the own slots of Satan in these last
3:21 days we're going under in defeat but if
3:25 we know what the Word of God says we
3:28 know we're gonna walk in victory but if
3:32 we do not know how now you see a long
3:33 time people know what belongs to them
3:34 but they don't know how to take
3:35 advantage of it
3:39 or how to implement it if we do not know
3:45 how to take victory over Satan who is so
3:52 powerful and crafty and cunning in his
3:57 movements and in his word unless we know
4:03 how to take authority and power over him
4:05 then we're going to be left stranded
4:11 both spiritually and physically who
4:14 stands back of what's going on in this
4:18 world well you remember second
4:22 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 4 Paul said
4:26 that Satan is the god of this world
4:30 Satan is the god of this world well who
4:35 stands back of the crime wave Satan of
4:41 course who stands back of modernism that
4:46 denies the Word of God and the truth of
4:51 God's Word and the power of God Satan
4:59 who stands back evolution and denies
5:01 what the Word of God has to say on the subject
5:01 subject
5:06 Satan who stands back a false teaching
5:09 who stands back of the ministry that
5:14 denies the supernatural Satan is behind
5:15 all of that
5:18 who stands back of the diseases and
5:21 sicknesses that sweep the world and
5:23 before you can find the cure for one
5:27 another one arises the Bible said
5:29 concerning Jesus in accident' chapter
5:31 and 30th verse we went about doing good
5:34 and healing all that were oppressed of
5:37 the devil the Bible called sickness
5:42 satanic oppression who stands back of
5:49 the spirit of bondage that seems to bind
5:54 so many of God's own children who stands
5:56 back of the Spirit of darkness that
5:59 seems to envelop you sometimes when you
6:03 pray well it's Satan that's endeavoring
6:06 to defeat you and rob you a victory that
6:10 belongs to you what are we gonna do
6:13 we're gonna just throw up our hands in
6:19 defeat and say well nothing we can do no
6:24 no no a thousand times no Jesus is the victor
6:26 victor
6:30 hallelujah it says here that he saw
6:34 principalities and powers that's the
6:36 same principalities and powers that we
6:39 have to deal with down here you know in
6:40 the sixth chapter of Ephesians he said
6:42 we wrestle not against flesh and blood
6:45 but against principalities and powers
6:47 the rulers of the darkness of this world
6:50 and spiritual wickedness of the Martin
6:52 said wicked spirits in heavenly places
6:55 well those same spiritual powers
6:59 same principalities and powers that we
7:01 have to do deal with King James said he
7:05 spoiled principalities and powers that's
7:07 a little bit blind to us because we
7:11 don't just talk that way today but he
7:12 put him to naught another translation
7:16 said thank God he defeated the devil and
7:19 he did not need to defeat him for
7:22 himself because he didn't need it but
7:25 what he did was for us as our substitute
7:27 praise the Lord
7:32 amen now then notice what the first text
7:35 said the 91st psalm the 13th verse thou
7:40 shalt tread upon the lion now you
7:41 understand that there are two lions
7:45 spoken of in scriptures first as a you
7:47 know in the natural there's the lion
7:52 who's the king of the forest well he is
7:55 in this sense that part that the rider
7:59 here in the 91st psalm in this sense
8:02 he's talking about the devil using the
8:05 lion the king of the jungle as a type of
8:09 the devil or Satan but the Bible talks
8:12 about another lion the Bible talking
8:15 about the Lion of the tribe of Judah
8:17 glory to God
8:21 hallelujah that's the Lord Jesus Christ
8:25 hallelujah and you know something else
8:28 while we're on that see he is the Bible
8:30 said he is the Lion of the tribe of
8:34 Judah well Jesus came if you'll follow
8:37 the genealogy through the scripture he
8:40 came from the tribe of Judah hallelujah
8:43 but did you ever look up Judah and see
8:47 what that mean name means it means
8:51 praise he's the Lion of the tribe of
8:58 praise hallelujah glory to God will you
9:00 remember when you talk about that that
9:02 the scripture also said talking about
9:06 the Lord and God that he inhabits the
9:11 praises of his people hallelujah glory
9:14 to God the line of the tribe of praise
9:17 you remember the sixteenth chapter of
9:19 the Acts of the Apostles of the 25th
9:23 verse Paul and Silas were in jail their
9:25 backs were bleeding for they had been
9:27 whipped they had been put into the
9:29 innermost prison their feet were in
9:33 stocks and the 25th verse of the
9:35 sixteenth chapter said and at midnight
9:41 they prayed thank God for prayer but
9:42 that's just one step towards victory
9:48 they prayed and sang praises unto God it
9:50 was while they were singing praises if
9:54 the answer came he is the Lion of the
9:57 tribe of praise you want to get him to
10:01 work before you start praising him Golda
10:02 to God
10:04 start right in the midst of darkness at
10:07 the midnight hour the darkest hour start
10:10 singing praises to God
10:13 now you know as well as I know that he's
10:15 not talking about thou shalt tread upon
10:17 the line and the headers not talking
10:21 about a natural line out here but lion
10:29 represents forces as strong and fierce
10:34 as a lion he men and so when he talked
10:36 about not to tread upon the line he's
10:41 talking about Satan amen but thou shalt
10:45 tread upon in the 57th Psalm and the 4th
10:49 verse the psalmist said my soul is among
10:53 lions did you ever feel that away he
10:57 meant my soul he said is among lions
11:02 that Psalm 57 verse 4 but thank God we
11:05 need to realize that though we may be
11:09 among lions because he said the line and
11:11 the adder and the young lion shall that
11:14 trample under feet though we may be
11:19 among lions they were helpless if we
11:23 know how to deal with them now in this
11:25 second chapter of Colossians he said he
11:27 saw principalities and powers
11:30 did you ever repeat the pilgrims
11:34 progress pilgrims on the way you know to
11:38 heaven and as he goes along the pathway
11:46 these lines come roaring fangs bared but
11:48 they can't get him because they're
11:51 chained they can just only come so far
11:54 do you ever stop to think about the 23rd
11:58 psalm belongs to us now a lot of times
12:00 people will read that at the time of a
12:04 funeral or something but when he talks
12:08 about through the valley of the shadow
12:11 of death he's not talking about physical
12:14 dying because he received the Lord is my
12:17 shepherd I shall not walk saw because he
12:20 after he talked about through the valley
12:22 he leads me through the valley of the
12:26 shadow of death see he's still alive
12:29 he's not dead yet thy rod and thy staff
12:32 they comfort me he went on to say my cup
12:33 runs over
12:36 now notice he's not dead yet because he
12:38 said surely goodness and mercy shall
12:42 follow me all the days of my life so
12:45 he's still alive at the end the end of
12:47 the 23rd zombie still alive surely
12:49 goodness and mercy shall follow me all
12:50 the days of my life
12:51 and I dwell in the house of the Lord
12:56 forever no you see in this life where
12:59 Satan is the god of this world and
13:02 because Satan is the kingdom of darkness
13:05 you see and he's the head of the kingdom
13:07 of darkness we walked through the valley
13:10 through this life we walked through the
13:14 valley of the shadow of death you see
13:16 there's the shadow of a spiritual death
13:19 all around us there's a shout shadow of
13:23 sickness and disease and poverty all
13:26 around about us those things are of the
13:29 shadow of death but now notice this this
13:31 same Psalm said he prepares a table
13:34 before me in the presence of mine
13:39 enemies well you see here in this 91st
13:40 psalm he talked him off the line and the
13:42 adder of the young lines of the dragon
13:45 shall trample under feet those are
13:49 symbols of the enemy amen Satan and his
13:52 cohorts and when he said he prepares a
13:55 table before me in the presence of mine
13:58 enemies he's talking about right in the
13:59 presence of the devil right in the
14:02 presence of demons he prepares a table
14:05 before me praise God and on that table
14:06 of this victory
14:09 glory to God but the thing we need to
14:12 realize is not a resist he prepares a
14:15 table before me in the presence the
14:19 enemy is present he's going to stay
14:22 present he's got a right to be here till
14:25 Adams released runs out upon this earth
14:28 but thank God like pilgrims progress
14:30 that Lions were chained they came
14:34 roaring after pilgrim but they couldn't
14:35 get him
14:37 hallelu he's walking the straight
14:41 InDinero way they were changing well
14:43 we're sitting at the father's table he
14:46 prepares a table before me in the
14:49 presence of mine enemies the problem
14:51 with a lot of folk is they keep looking
14:53 at the enemy yeah he's still there well
14:58 part of it get your eyes off of him get
15:03 your eyes on the table there's victory
15:04 on the table
15:07 there's victory over all the power of
15:09 the enemy
15:13 hallelujah sure he's there well I'm
15:15 still troubled with this in trouble with
15:16 that what of it get your eyes off of
15:19 that get your eyes on the table
15:21 thou shalt tread upon the line in there
15:23 and the young line the dragon shalt are
15:25 trampled under foot
15:29 hallelu you're under feet amen thou
15:34 shalt tread tread now that means walk I
15:36 notice it that's your tread upon the
15:40 lion that means you walk on it you're
15:42 gonna be above him haven't you to be
15:43 able to walk although he has to be
15:46 beneath you but thank God he is we sing
15:48 that course sometime under my feet under
15:51 my feet yeah Satan's under our feet
15:54 because Jesus is the head of the church
15:57 and we're the body of Christ and he's
16:03 put all things under his feet he's the
16:06 head we're the feet are the part of the
16:08 body as the feet that in other words if
16:09 it's under our feet is under the whole
16:14 body amen praise God
16:17 well then no notice he said thou shalt
16:20 tread upon the lion and he said the
16:24 adder now according to the margin in my
16:28 Bible it's also I looked at he says s
16:31 this Hebrew words also translated asked
16:34 I shall tread upon the adder and the ass
16:36 in connection with that looking it up
16:38 the dictionary you'll find these words
16:41 in connection with the same word Cobra
16:46 horn servant cockatrice and then looking
16:47 at it further you'll find that it
16:48 doesn't just
16:54 mean one adder r1s our one harm serpent
16:58 but it tends with the thought of a brood
17:04 are a whole list amen
17:08 a whole nest our whole brood of adders
17:11 harass now understand all these are
17:15 types of demons but your tread on them
17:25 amen
17:31 that's your tread on them walk on walk
17:35 on top praise God hallelujah
17:39 that's your trend on the lion the adder
17:43 the Young Lions well now notice he
17:45 talked about the lion and he talked
17:50 about the Young Lions the first lion is
17:53 like I said it's Satan himself
17:57 bloodthirsty and cruel the young lions
18:02 are full of them and energy all kinds of
18:05 demons and demons activity but we need
18:10 not fear hallelujah because the Lord is
18:14 our Shepherd we do not want he prepares
18:19 a table before us amen Deuteronomy in
18:22 the 32nd chapter in the 33rd verse said
18:26 their wine is the poison of dragons and
18:32 the cruel venom of ASPs well here he
18:34 said that your trade on the line and the
18:38 young lady let young lion and the dragon
18:47 shalt thou trample under foot we have
18:53 power or the authority to tread or
18:56 trample underfoot
19:00 Satan and all of his cohorts
19:09 now notice again this verse Deuteronomy
19:14 32 33 their wine is the poison of
19:22 dragons and the cruel venom of ass over
19:26 in the New Testament Romans the third
19:29 chapter in the thirteenth verse it reads
19:35 the poison of ASPs is under their lips
19:40 so many times in this world the poison
19:43 of ASPs is under their lips of so many
19:47 people and it stings
19:50 like the sting of an ASP what are you
19:52 talking about I'm talking about back by
19:55 body I'm talking about tale-bearing
20:01 I'm talking about slandering I've been
20:05 in the ministry I'm in my 63rd year this
20:07 coming August the 8th I will have
20:12 completed 63 years in the ministry in
20:15 all of these 63 years no one has ever
20:19 heard me criticize anybody you've never
20:22 heard me talk about anybody they may
20:28 talk about me but I pray for us amen
20:32 but you know backbiting and tale-bearing
20:35 and slender and all of those things may
20:39 sting like an ass but you got the power
20:41 to tread on them see I did walk all over
20:42 just walk off
20:45 I told folks years ago 25 years ago I
20:47 said it and I'm still saying it if they
20:49 told on me that I killed my grandma I'm
20:51 not even going tonight I'm just gonna
20:52 keep shouting praising God and go on
20:55 with the Lord let them say what they
20:59 want to say thank God for victory
21:02 now notice I shall tread upon the a dirt
21:05 the line and add the Young Lions
21:11 and the Dragons shall trample under feet
21:13 now a quarter of the dictionary dragon
21:17 means a great reptile it can mean a sea
21:20 serpent or it can mean on land an animal
21:25 of great magnitude but here he said that
21:31 shout thou shalt trample under feet
21:36 that means tread over amen well you see
21:38 they may start a whisper against you
21:41 I've had a lot of them that's greater
21:48 than whispers started against me amen
21:53 but it doesn't change me hallelujah I'm
21:56 just the same today as I was yesterday
22:00 I'm not hurt by those things i trample
22:05 them under feet hallelujah go over to
22:09 God you know my testimony most of you
22:12 I'm sure now that I was raised up from a
22:15 deathbed sixty-three years ago almost
22:19 now but just acting on God's Word mark
22:25 11:23 in 24 then the Lord said to me in
22:29 May of nineteen and fifty now to me it
22:31 sounded audible get your look around
22:34 there's nobody there but he said don't
22:37 teach my people of faith I've taught you
22:41 faith through my word I permitted you to
22:43 go through certain experiences and
22:46 you've learned faith both by through my
22:48 word and by experience now go teach my
22:50 people when I taught you
22:56 Amen well we realize that some people on
22:58 any given Bible subject you want a
23:01 mention that some people go to the
23:04 extreme sometimes but I've just endeavor
23:07 to stay in the middle of the road but
23:09 even if that you know people have got
23:11 you know I've had all
23:15 unkind things said about the faith
23:18 minister in the faith message and so on
23:21 and so forth one minister in one of our
23:24 faith seminars in Dallas a few years ago
23:27 said to me after one of the teaching
23:29 session I was teaching on faith both
23:32 morning and night and he came to me
23:33 after one of the morning sessions and
23:37 shook hands with Benny said minor you
23:39 teach so much on faith I never heard you
23:41 teach well of course I do teach and have
23:44 done what on other things but he hadn't
23:47 heard well I said number one you can't
23:52 be saved without faith because the Bible
23:53 said by grace are you saved through
23:56 faith that not himself a gift of God
23:58 secondly I said you can't walk the
24:00 Christian walk without faith because the
24:02 Bible said we walk by faith and not
24:05 beside third I said you can't live for
24:08 God without faith because the Bible said
24:12 that we live by faith hallelu amen
24:15 fourth I said you can't get your prize
24:17 heard an answer without faith because
24:19 Jesus said when you pray believe you
24:21 receive them and ye shall have them
24:25 hallelujah and then I said fifth you
24:27 can't please God and go to heaven
24:29 without faith because the Bible said
24:31 without faith it's impossible to please
24:35 him now he had just got through telling
24:37 me he had been in the ministry for 25
24:39 years and he said you know I've never
24:44 preached on faith after I gave him all
24:46 those five points he said you know what
24:48 I said what he said I've never preached
24:51 yet he'd been preaching 25 years and
24:54 haven't gotten into the ministry yet now
24:56 thank God he got into it
24:59 praise the Lord you know there's a text
25:03 and understand Paul was talking about
25:04 something else but it apply here in the
25:07 fifth chapter first Thessalonians
25:10 remember Paul said prove all things
25:15 prove all things hold fast to that which
25:19 is good now he said that in connection
25:23 with prophecy and the moving of the
25:25 Spirit of God because if you read the
25:27 entire context he said quints not the
25:32 spirit despise not prophesying prove all
25:34 things hold fast that which is good
25:38 well of course tradition tells us if
25:40 they had so much prophecy I'm there in
25:42 Thessalonica that folks you know just
25:44 got tired of so he said despise not
25:48 prophesized but he went on to say you
25:50 know don't quench the spirit though some
25:52 things might not be right not some
25:55 things not not be up to par don't quench
25:58 the spirit don't despise prophecies but
26:01 don't accept everything prove all things
26:04 proven out and that which is good hold
26:07 fast to it now that's that's really what
26:09 he said in the context but rather on the
26:12 other hand that same truth would hold in
26:15 any other area of prove all things hold
26:17 fast that which is good
26:22 amen well you remember I've given this
26:26 testimony I'll reiterate it here I
26:32 became bed fast on the 22nd day of April
26:38 1933 on the first day of January of 1934
26:40 my grandfather because we live with him
26:43 our home had been broken and we went to
26:45 live with my grandparents in fact I went
26:47 to live with him was nine years of age
26:48 then later on my mother and youngest
26:52 brother live with us there so my
26:54 grandfather owned a number of houses and
26:59 in town and so he he decided to move
27:01 into another section of the town and
27:03 folks that were renters of the property
27:05 had them to move out ahead of time and
27:07 renovated the property painted and
27:09 papered and you know and so on
27:16 and we moved on New Year's Day 1934 and
27:20 mr. Jimmy do you move in company movers
27:23 now they kept my bedroom suite and the
27:28 the kitchen and dining room for the last
27:30 load because it made several truckloads
27:34 and chauffer for they they put up a
27:35 different bedroom suit
27:38 in my the bedroom I'm gonna occupy in
27:40 the new of the house where we're moving
27:43 and then the column wants to move me
27:46 because I'm bed phase and so mr. Harris
27:48 from the Harris funeral home McKinney
27:52 Texas came with his helper mr. McDonnell
27:55 and so they lifted me out of bed onto
27:57 the stretcher roll me out put me in the
28:00 ambulance headed north on North College
28:03 Street because we lived at North College
28:05 Street there in McKinney four or five
28:09 North College Street and so he said mr.
28:10 Harris turned and said to me son I
28:12 understand you've been bed fast about a
28:14 year I said well nine months to be
28:17 exactly I've been out of the house bed
28:20 fast I said that's right when we said if
28:22 you feel up to it and I realize you have
28:23 a heart problem but if you feel up to it
28:25 we'll just drive around a little bit
28:27 this is a holiday New Year's Day and a
28:31 holiday not much traffic we'll just
28:32 drive around over the city a little bit
28:35 you know that you look you know good now
28:37 I was partially paralyzed and I couldn't
28:38 turn my body but it couldn't turn my
28:42 head look out either side of the of the
28:44 ambulance so he went down North College
28:48 Street hall from perhaps a mile or so
28:52 and then he turned and went down Morris
28:55 Street and he came to North Kentucky
28:58 Street turned south on lost Kentucky
29:02 Street and so as we came down North
29:04 Kentucky Street from the north heading
29:06 south we came to the courthouse square
29:08 now little town maybe eight nine
29:12 thousand people you know I'm up nearly
29:14 all the building of the store word
29:16 everything's around the squares a few
29:18 off on you know side street but
29:22 Courthouse Square so we came to the
29:24 northwest corner of the courthouse
29:28 square and I turned looked on the corner
29:31 was Gambel's drugstore at west side of
29:35 the square next it was JC Penney company
29:43 next to it was a moto de ladies you know
29:47 dresses and so on next year was FW
29:49 Woolworth next year it was
29:54 shoe store and on the corner of this the
29:58 father the west side was the leader a
30:02 ladies dress shop then the turn and
30:10 headed east down Louisiana Street and on
30:12 the south side of the square on the
30:15 corner was TPL Texas Power and Light
30:19 Company business offices next to PT and
30:21 a light company was perkins dry goods
30:27 company and then then I turned the head
30:30 couldn't turn the body but it turned my
30:32 head and looked out the left side or the
30:36 right side actually the way I was of
30:40 they handed us the Old Courthouse
30:44 setting in the middle of the square and
30:46 something said to me I didn't know
30:47 everything then I know now don't know
30:50 much yet thank God to do know enough to
30:57 but I looked at that old courthouse and
31:01 a voice said to me I didn't know where
31:04 it came from I know now of course it was
31:07 the devil but I just knew this voice
31:09 spoke cause it came from out here somewhere
31:09 somewhere
31:12 and suddenly the kind of good boy
31:14 talking about the old courthouse look at
31:17 it good that's the last time you'll ever
31:21 see it you never did think you'd ever
31:24 see it again because they've been bed
31:27 fast he shut in between for walk doctor
31:32 said there's no hope had to die you
31:33 never thought you would ever see it
31:37 again look at it good this is the last
31:42 time you'll ever see it I didn't know
31:46 what I came to know and really don't
31:49 know why I did it but I do know this
31:52 that I've got a little inkling of light
31:57 and from the inside of me I realized
31:59 later is my spirit the man on the inside
32:01 you know there's a man on the inside
32:06 I remember i clenched my fist so hard
32:08 that my fingernail dug into my hands
32:13 and I said it out loud yes I will I'll
32:17 come in the flesh and stand on this
32:20 Courthouse Square and see these
32:25 buildings again well eight months went
32:28 by and I'm still bed fast but when that
32:30 eighth month dawned on the second
32:34 Saturday of August of 1934 I walked a
32:37 mile and a half and stood on the corner
32:44 of that Old Courthouse Square praise God
32:48 and this is a Saturday all the country
32:51 people came to town I mean there's a
32:53 thick you know you couldn't stir with a
32:56 stick you know what I mean by that I had
32:58 to get off of the street because I mean
33:00 it's full stand on the curb just off of
33:03 the curb and I don't know what people
33:06 thought but I care less this old Baptist
33:09 boy I took my Testament out of my pocket
33:12 and opened it to mark 11:23 and 24 I [Applause]

33:19 tears of joy running down my face from
33:22 folks looked at me - I wasn't nuts I
33:26 said I told you eight months ago I'd
33:30 come and stand here prove all things I
33:34 proved it I've been holding fast to it

33:48 haven't deviated one bit haven't changed
33:51 a bit still believe it just like an
33:57 idiot steelworks now just like it prove
34:05 all things hold fast hold fast
34:11 hold fast let me hold on to it
34:18 amen hold fast hold fast that which is
34:21 good hold fast that means hold it with
34:24 the tight grip now why there's an enemy
34:27 opposed against you he's gonna try to
34:30 rob him he's gonna try to steal from me
34:34 because he's a thief but you hold on to it
34:35 it
34:41 hallelujah hallelujah say down out thank
34:54 hallelujah I give you power over in loop
34:57 then 10th chapter 19 verse this Greek
35:00 word translated power here is also
35:03 translated Authority I give you
35:07 authority to tread on serpents and
35:13 scorpions and over all the power of the
35:15 enemy so we could readily see then that
35:18 he's not talking about a literal
35:24 serpents or snakes or scorpions but he's
