0:09 on telegram through which all the fraud [Music]
0:16 takes have you ever experienced this
0:19 situation before if
0:21 not because there's a high chance you
0:24 might in the future 42% of Indians have
0:25 experienced financial fraud in the last
0:28 3 years according to a survey get this
0:30 an average victim losers around 15 , 334
0:33 rupes and of these people 74% of them
0:34 are unable to get their money back so
0:36 how do you protect yourself from all of
0:38 these scams just listen to your man
0:41 Finance with Sharon but beyond that I
0:43 want to talk about the biggest Financial
0:50 today number one loan app fraud it's
0:51 3:00 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon you just
0:53 stuffed yourself with mea Biryani and
0:55 scrolling through reals you later come
0:57 across an ad which redirects you to
0:59 download an app that is ready to give
1:01 you a loan and the interest rate which
1:03 is unbelievably low this seems like a
1:05 dream come true to finally get yourself
1:08 a new phone and a Macbook and new pair
1:10 of sneakers and you continue using the
1:11 app it asks you for access to your
1:14 gallery contacts and obviously you click
1:16 on agree 20 times without even reading
1:17 the terms and conditions I mean who does
1:19 that the loan gets approved and the
1:21 money is in your account everything
1:23 seems good but suddenly your relatives
1:25 are sending you screenshots of videos of
1:27 you on Bon Hub now you might think first
1:29 why are my relatives on Bon Hub and
1:32 second when did I star in such
1:35 movies but then you got a phone call
1:37 it's a blackmailer demanding you to pay
1:39 back the loan amount with 100% interest
1:41 or you won't remove those videos from
1:44 that site this scam is widely prevalent
1:46 and many people have lost thousands to
1:47 it the moment you give access to your
1:49 gallery the frers get access to your
1:52 images and create nude mofed versions of
1:54 it they blackmail you saying they'll
1:55 forward these pictures to your contacts
1:57 which in the first place you yourself
1:59 give them access to in some cases these
2:03 apps make profits as high as 2,100 per
2:04 as well so how to save yourself from
2:06 this scam first subscribe to this
2:08 Channel and second when it comes to loan
2:11 app frauds avoid any loan app that isn't
2:13 affiliated with an RBI registered bank
2:16 or nbfc these details can easily be
2:18 found with a simple Google search don't
2:20 download any app that isn't verified by
2:23 your phone's app store if the app offers
2:25 0% interest or very low interest it's
2:27 most definitely a scam check for reviews
2:30 of the app online if you can't find any
2:32 it's probably new or you're going to be
2:34 the first victim most importantly if the
2:36 app promises to approve your loan
2:38 without any background verification such
2:40 as credit score check or documentation
2:43 check it's a scam number two gift card
2:45 scam and email scam the next scam
2:47 involves your boss in other words your
2:49 pseudo boss it's 9:00 a.m. on Monday
2:51 morning you just entered the office and
2:53 received an email from your boss the
2:55 email says that your boss is in an
2:57 important meeting and needs you to
2:59 immediately purchase a few Amazon gifts
3:01 cards for his wife's birthday he claims
3:03 he cannot do this because of the meeting
3:06 and that he'll reimburse you later it's
3:08 obviously a little sus but you give into
3:09 to his reasoning and purchase those
3:13 cards anyway promotion you meet your
3:15 boss in the evening and ask him if he
3:17 received those gift cards and he
3:20 asks what gift
3:23 cards you find out that your boss never
3:25 asked for a gift card this type of scam
3:27 is on the rise guys people receive an
3:28 email from someone imitating to be their
3:31 boss and asking for money apart from
3:33 gift cards they sometimes will instead
3:35 ask you to pay a vendor on their behalf
3:37 and they'll reimburse you for it what
3:38 these scammers do is that they use an
3:41 email address which is exactly the same
3:44 as your bosses except it differs by one
3:46 or two letters the idea behind the scam
3:48 is that gift cards are Anonymous and
3:51 untraceable a gift card is basically
3:53 digital cash with no account number
3:54 linked to it for example here's
3:56 something that actually happened where
3:58 someone faked pranal cra's email tips to
4:01 avoid such scam make sure to fully read
4:03 the email address of the sender in most
4:06 cases it may have one or two letters
4:07 which are different it may also have an
4:09 additional letter in between another
4:11 thing that you can do is always call
4:13 them up and confirm once if they
4:15 actually wanted you to purchase a gift
4:16 card for them you'll mostly realize they
4:19 did not ask for one scam three Ox scams
4:20 now when you want to buy or sell
4:22 something online there are many frauders
4:24 out there trying to loot your money ox
4:26 and quicker are some of the most widely
4:29 known websites to sell your used Goods
4:31 but if you aren't careful you could
4:33 definitely get scammed let's say you're
4:35 trying to sell your old phone you post
4:37 an ad on these platforms to sell it
4:38 you're likely to get an immediate
4:40 response by someone posing as a buyer
4:43 you're like damn everything is sorted in
4:45 most cases they don't even negotiate the
4:46 price and are willing to pay you
4:48 whatever you ask for let's assume that
4:50 he posted the phone for a sale at 12,000
4:51 rupees the scammer will tell you that
4:53 he'll pay you the amount online through
4:56 UPI such as PTM or through Google pay
4:57 then they tell you that they are in the
5:00 Army stationed in a far off place and
5:01 hence it's not possible to get physical
5:03 delivery with the phone nor can he pay
5:05 in cash he'll try to gain your
5:07 confidence by stating he'll pay in
5:09 advance then he'll proceed to send you a
5:11 fake screenshot which shows he's paid
5:14 you through UPI in reality you haven't
5:16 received jack you tell the scammer
5:17 you haven't received any money he then
5:20 proceeds to send you another QR code
5:22 claiming that to receive the money you
5:24 need to scan this so you proceed to scan
5:27 this QR code and enter your UPI pin but
5:28 bada bing bada boom instead of Money
5:30 Getting to your your account money gets
5:33 debited now you're losing it I mean
5:34 obviously he's from the Army right so he
5:36 won't scam you but he isn't from the
5:39 Indian army he's probably from the BTS army
5:42 army
5:45 man now he proceeds to send you another
5:47 QR code claiming to send you double that
5:49 amount which will cancel out the 12,000
5:52 rupes which was already
5:54 debited seems like a nice guy right now
5:56 I don't think I need you to tell what
5:58 happens from here on out these scams
6:01 happen both ways guys while buying and
6:04 selling a product a similar scam happens
6:05 when you're trying to buy something the
6:07 scammer will claim he's from the Army
6:09 and hence you won't be able to take a
6:11 physical look of the product they'll ask
6:13 you to pay in advance to ship the
6:14 product as well some of these dudes will
6:17 even send you fake identification as an
6:19 army officer plus a corer receipt
6:20 stating that they've shipped the product
6:22 now how to avoid this one pretty simple
6:24 if you ask me firstly verify the
6:26 identity of the seller or buyer most
6:28 fake ads can be easily detected they
6:30 usually just copy paste images from
6:33 another seller but with an extremely low
6:35 price next if the other party seems to
6:38 be in a hurry or urgently tries to close
6:40 a deal then it is most likely a frauder
6:42 avoid accepting or making an advanced
6:45 payment try your best to get a view of
6:47 the product in person if possible and be
6:49 wary about the location you meet as well
6:51 always meet in a public place and don't
6:53 disclose personal addresses finally if
6:55 the other party claims to be someone
6:57 they're not then that's basically
6:59 identity theft identity theft is not a
7:02 joke Jim millions of families suffer
7:04 every year scam four social media
7:06 hacking now let's come to the most
7:08 widespread scam happening today which
7:10 many of us are most likely to go through
7:12 has any of your social media accounts
7:13 ever been hacked now you might say
7:15 Sharon we are not some influencer like
7:17 you with millions of followers why would
7:19 a hacker hack my account you're right
7:21 you don't have millions of followers like
7:27 me but the hacker still wants to hack
7:29 your account I'm going to tell you what
7:32 they can and will do with your account
7:34 as well but firstly how on or do they
7:36 even hack your account in most cases
7:38 they have already hacked your friend's
7:40 account you will later get a cautionary
7:42 message from that hacked account stating
7:44 that an inappropriate photo of you has
7:47 been posted online he'll send a link
7:49 where you can view this out of panic you
7:52 rush to open that site it asks you for
7:54 your login credentials and you sign in
7:56 now the hacker gets access to your
7:58 account because you entered details on
8:00 that site but you you don't know that
8:02 it's all done on the back end once you
8:04 sign in you find nothing there and
8:05 assume it to be a prank by your friend
8:07 you think your friend is a dumbass doing
8:09 such a useless prank but you're the real
8:11 dumbass who just gave away credentials
8:13 to your account to someone else next
8:15 thing you know the hacker starts sending
8:18 messages to all your friends asking for
8:20 money saying it's an emergency if you
8:22 have broke friends just like yourself
8:25 emotion no damage then it's all cool
8:27 because no one can give any money but
8:28 there's a good chance that the hacker
8:31 can t a family member or relative for
8:33 example a man in Mumbai lost a total of
8:35 60,000 Rupees by making four
8:38 transactions of 15,000 rupees each
8:40 before he got suspicious and called up
8:41 his needy cousin who was requesting the
8:44 money only to find out that his account
8:46 was hacked but Sharon this scam is hard
8:48 to figure out because we don't know what
8:50 to trust and what not to trust so for
8:52 that I tell you avoid opening unknown
8:54 and suspicious links through your
8:55 account do not log in using your
8:58 credentials on any unknown website and
9:02 lastly because Common Sense isn't so
9:04 common don't share details like your AAR
9:07 card pan card Etc online and mainly for
9:09 the guys in my audience did some hot
9:12 chick you don't know slide into your DMs
9:14 and want to be more than just friends
9:16 it's probably a fake account bro next
9:17 thing you know they're going to start
9:19 asking you for money saying it's an
9:20 emergency and your ass will probably
9:22 feel sad and give it to them only to
9:24 find out you got played by some dude
9:27 from Jamara con look scam five fake
9:30 influencer scam talking about social
9:32 media scams there's another one going
9:34 around quite a bit if you ever commented
9:35 on my YouTube shs you'll probably
9:37 receive a comment from this account at
9:39 this point it's obvious that it isn't me
9:41 I do not provide any type of
9:43 consultation on WhatsApp either we don't
9:45 do that here today there are many
9:46 accounts which are fake and use the
9:48 identities of many other Finance
9:50 influencers as well the worst part is
9:52 them trying to provide consultation and
9:54 charging for it if you fall for it and
9:56 pay them you aren't going to get any
9:58 consultation call back either I have
10:00 many DM where people fall for these
10:02 scams and ask me why I haven't given
10:04 them consultation call yet that's not me
10:06 currently both my Instagram and YouTube
10:08 channels are verified hence don't
10:10 believe any communication you receive
10:11 through other channels here's another
10:14 example where someone faked akad shav's
10:16 profile and offered Services tips to
10:18 avoid such scams checking for a blue
10:19 tick mark is kind of useless because
10:21 most Finance influencers don't have a
10:23 blue tick mark yet I didn't have one
10:25 either until I hit the 1 million mark on
10:27 Instagram hence a better way to
10:28 differentiate against fake accounts is
10:31 the follower to likes ratio next check
10:33 if other influencers follow this account
10:35 here's an example the second account
10:37 here is the real account of Tas ji so
10:40 finally guys the five Financial scams I
10:42 just covered are just the tip of the
10:44 iceberg and it's impossible to fit all
10:46 of them into one video so tell me in the
10:48 comment section below if you want a
10:49 second part and I'll make one just for
10:51 you guys the best way to handle
10:53 scenarios where you're mostly going to
10:55 get scammed is to stay calm and analyze
10:57 the situation Panic will make you
10:59 overlook the situation and cause more
11:01 more collateral damage New Age banking
11:03 has made a lot of things convenient for
11:05 us but there are downsides as well hence
11:06 follow my tips share this video with
11:09 someone who's most likely in your family
11:11 to fall for such scams and stay safe
11:13 guys it's usually our parents and older
11:14 people fall for such scams so please
11:16 share this video with them and I'll see
11:19 you in the next one
