0:14 Harry Potter is a series I have a lot of
0:16 feelings about I found the characters
0:18 and most the world charming and a lot of
0:19 my love for the franchise is rooted in
0:22 my Nostalgia because the more I read the
0:24 books the more I find I don't care for
0:26 chief among them is this trend I've seen
0:27 bad writers doing where they make a
0:29 small time antagonist character that
0:31 then has some kind of redemption that is
0:33 either just limp or actively [ __ ]
0:35 ruined because childhood SPID or
0:38 whatever man she deserved better Draco
0:40 Maloy is the Khloe bgea of Harry Potter
0:42 but unlike Khloe Draco had well over a
0:44 decade of being written and fan
0:46 interpretation SL reaction taken into
0:48 account when the later books were being
0:50 published which allowed rling to steer
0:53 into a sort of no- win scenario when it
0:55 came to ending the series see she had
0:56 some kind of idea where she wanted to
0:58 take certain characters and tie up the
0:59 loose threads within everybody got
1:02 married and had baby shaped bow but it
1:04 still leaves a lot to be desired simply
1:05 due to the fact that a lot could have
1:07 been changed given hindsight and in fact
1:09 would have made things even better if we
1:11 were allowed to change things so that's
1:13 what I'm doing now I'm not an idiot
1:14 you're not an idiot you've seen the
1:17 thumbnail we're making Dr Cannon but I
1:19 need to make something abundantly clear
1:22 before we get started Draco Maloy as he
1:24 appears in the series currently is a
1:26 racist is a bully and is directly
1:28 hostile to our main characters and that
1:31 is not okay for shipping fuel in any
1:34 capacity full stop what I am doing in
1:36 this thought experiment is taking Draco
1:38 as he starts in the series from his
1:40 first appearance and working from there
1:41 we aren't changing his backstory
1:43 although we are going to change a few
1:44 other people's we'll get there and we
1:47 aren't changing key events just why they
1:49 happen or really who does them this is a
1:51 rewrite of the series on my terms this
1:54 Draco my Draco is a much different
1:55 creature than the one of the books or
1:57 even the films so before you get all up
2:00 at Arms just hear me out all right let's
2:02 begin so first off we need to address
2:04 the main character Mr Potter is now no
2:05 longer under the dysfunctional watchful
2:07 eye of his aunt and uncle while they can
2:09 be part of the story if you like it
2:10 doesn't really make any sense for Harry
2:12 to be sent to the dersley in any
2:14 conceivable way and there's a couple
2:16 reasons for that point the first is that
2:17 the person dropping him off is
2:19 Dumbledore the only person who Voldemort
2:21 fears and is presumed to be dead if he
2:23 took in Harry who's going to [ __ ] try
2:25 and take him and even if he lives at the
2:27 school a living Nanny would be more than
2:29 fine in my mind not to mention that it
2:30 would make the little break Albus gives
2:32 Harry in book five be even more
2:34 heart-wrenching the movies and books
2:36 sort of portray them as a slowly growing
2:37 Bond of that of a grandfather and his
2:40 grandson so that Dynamic being shaken up
2:41 and Disturbed more so than it is in the
2:44 book makes complete sense to me and adds
2:46 to all the damn teen EGS that book had
2:47 don't come for me order the Phoenix is
2:50 my favorite point latou is that Sirius
2:52 Black exists in the first book and is
2:54 his [ __ ] Godfather now I know what
2:56 you're all thinking he's a wealthy semi-
2:58 famous wizard Harry needed to be humbled
2:59 when he grew up first of all he's a
3:02 child not a [ __ ] celebrity he's just
3:04 a kid you can teach him how to deal with
3:05 that stuff and Sirius isn't a blood
3:07 relative so he couldn't protect him
3:09 first of all Sirius is the black sheep
3:10 of his family so he probably would have
3:12 kept Harry in check in the series proper
3:15 he sees Harry as a replacement for James
3:17 and that is the last thing he hears from
3:19 him alive so having him grow up with him
3:21 makes vastly more sense to make it so
3:23 that he won't see that and more
3:24 understand that Harry is his own person
3:26 that line and his death can happen the
3:28 same way but now it can be a Bittersweet
3:31 thing to have his dad actually say he
3:33 sees his father in him and it instead of
3:36 being a horrifying note is now more
3:38 stamp of approval oh and the fact that
3:40 dor got sned off for good behavior for
3:42 being a known Death Eater and couldn't
3:44 get serious off for crimes he had no way
3:46 of committing is [ __ ] so we're
3:48 changing it you also have truth serum in
3:50 this universe that no one thought to
3:52 give this man on trial it's dumb and
3:55 stupid and I hate it plint number three
3:57 what does Harry being abused and treated
3:58 like a vile thing to be hated only to
4:00 find out that he's actually a chosen one
4:02 hero destined for greatness and getting
4:04 to go to a wizard School add to the
4:07 story a sense of wonder sure but in
4:08 reality it doesn't have a whole lot of
4:10 value when you consider his whole
4:12 unhappy childhood doesn't leave him with
4:15 anything to overcome besides maybe a
4:16 lack of foresight and how poor his
4:18 friend is when compared to him anyway
4:20 what all of this does is that it doesn't
4:22 change Harry in any way because the
4:23 scars and Trauma that should be there
4:25 from a life of mistreatment are just not
4:28 a factor in Harry sure he's not used to
4:30 gifts and is amazed at anything remotely
4:33 magical but that can still be a thing I
4:34 mean I'm in my mid 20s and seeing the
4:36 sky outside a plain window still makes
4:39 me get all deey and toothy grind why
4:40 because [ __ ] like that no matter how
4:42 normal it is to some people will still
4:45 seem interesting to someone and that can
4:47 be your main character especially if
4:49 given the changes I've made thus far his
4:50 Guardians are trying to give him a
4:52 normal life speaking of which the
4:54 Weasley are no longer destitute they can
4:56 still be middle class but Arthur works
4:58 for the government and works a lot of
5:00 hours from what I can surmise when we
5:02 enter the story Bill and Charlie are
5:04 gone and Percy is on his way out so by
5:06 book three only four kids are living
5:08 there and all of them are at school for
5:09 10 months of the year how in the [ __ ]
5:12 are they this poor does Molly not work
5:15 and if not why sorry I'm getting off on
5:16 a tangent the other thing I need to
5:18 mention is that everyone is now no
5:21 longer straight okay well maybe jinny
5:22 but that's because every friend group
5:24 needs that one straight friend that's on
5:25 thin ice Dean and Sheamus are now a
5:27 couple and because they both date jinny
5:28 at one point I'm just going to make them
5:30 a polycule because yeah yes and a rather
5:32 clingy one at that because why not Ron
5:35 Is Now by Harry is pan Hermione is Demi
5:37 romantic but heterosexual Fred is Arrow
5:39 George is Ace choang is trans so is Lee
5:41 Jordan while we're at it Luna is
5:43 non-binary and Draco is gay and yes
5:46 before you ask this is necessary because
5:48 the series is so homogenized with white
5:50 straight people that making the whole
5:51 cast reflect people who needed this [ __ ]
5:53 growing up the most and actually
5:55 benefited from the world that was made
5:57 is a good thing damn it and making new
5:59 Side characters that will feel tacked on
6:01 doesn't fix the issue adapting the
6:03 characters to be a different sexuality
6:05 is a much better idea because we already
6:06 like these [ __ ] and we want to see
6:08 them go through something different at
6:10 this point with that mini rant out of
6:12 the way let's get on with the show all
6:15 right so as stated above draco's first
6:16 interactions in the book and even the
6:18 second one are the same with Harry the
6:21 difference is draco's reaction in the
6:23 book he's basically like well don't let
6:26 the riff raff Ruff you and then the book
6:27 moves on Draco has probably never been
6:29 told no before especially by someone he
6:32 tried to get in his pocket and while I
6:33 understand the reaction the book has I
6:35 think a far more interesting one is
6:37 where he sits there and thinks on it for
6:39 a while it festers and gets under his
6:41 skin as if he can't decide what to do
6:43 next and then the book moves on for a
6:44 while now I need to add something here
6:47 Draco is still a pompous spoiled kid I'm
6:48 not changing who he is when he gets
6:50 there it's what his interactions with
6:52 art Trio does to him it gets him out of
6:54 that Slytherin bubble the series likes
6:56 to perpetuate so much so the book keeps
6:57 going and then they all get caught
7:00 moving the dragon this time though Draco
7:01 just saw them going out and wanted to
7:03 see what was happening so followed them
7:05 and then bumped into mogle who then
7:07 found the other three they just assumed
7:08 he told her rather than her
7:10 independently finding the four of them
7:12 the fourest scene is actually one I
7:13 think would be the most interesting to
7:15 rewrite since Harry at this point still
7:17 thinks of drao as a bully and to be fair
7:20 he has been to this point so Draco being
7:22 Draco he starts boasting and saying SN
7:24 things because he doesn't know how else
7:27 to be his parents are rather wealthy
7:28 well-off white people in the upper
7:30 echelons of wizards Society I don't
7:31 think he's learned how to not be a bit
7:34 of a pratt yet and Harry just calls him
7:36 out on his [ __ ] again making him
7:38 shut down for a second this is the first
7:40 major departure for Draco though he kind
7:42 of looks at Harry and then says you're
7:46 right I'm sorry can we start over and
7:48 genuinely means it now Harry in any of
7:50 the three versions of this kid we have
7:52 to pick from says yes but for different
7:54 reasons the Durley version is due to him
7:56 simply knowing as sincere from insincere
7:58 apology when he hears it so gives him a
8:00 chance in the dumble dad Universe he
8:02 says yes because he believes in the good
8:04 and people and in the serious version he
8:06 says yes because at the end of the day
8:08 he hasn't done anything terrible and he
8:09 can always try to help break some of
8:11 those old mentalities his godfather has
8:12 explained to him throughout his life
8:14 from there book one mostly goes ahead
8:16 without any interruptions save anytime
8:18 Draco interferes from this point on and
8:20 instead add in a scene or two of them
8:22 having potions together so Ron and
8:24 Hermione can work together or maybe they
8:26 all four have lunch some days stuff like
8:28 that in book one it's not so much a real
8:31 personal thing so swapping out Draco for
8:33 crab and Goyle or even Blaze pansy or
8:34 Marcus Flint you know that guy that
8:35 tried to kill Harry in his first ever
8:38 quiddit match yeah that guy it's fine by
8:40 me personally I think adding Malfoy to
8:42 Team Pro tag and making pansy and Marcus
8:44 with crab and Goyle their own dark
8:45 mirror version of Our Gang would be
8:47 interesting especially if pansy was the
8:48 leader and Marcus was the second in
8:51 command while the tweedles were more or
8:53 less unchanged by being walls of meat
8:54 for the punchies the other thing this
8:56 frees up is giving us more named
8:58 slithering characters that allows us to
9:00 give more depth to the house and free
9:01 Draco of being a bully and can be more
9:04 easily a checking one's privilege or
9:05 learning that you can't just say [ __ ]
9:07 and expect it to not hurt people kind of
9:09 thing which in all honesty this series
9:11 needs so going on from book two I want
9:13 there to be more of a give and take
9:14 Draco still gets on the sports team
9:16 opposite to Harry and they have a more
9:18 friendly rivalry but instead of him
9:20 being the one to call herione and mud
9:22 blood it's Marcus and the problem for
9:24 Draco is that he didn't say anything in
9:26 defense of his friend much like Harry
9:28 he's kind of clueless as to why it's a
9:30 problem more so in this context I think
9:31 it's because no one told him what it
9:33 means or if you want you could have
9:35 everyone but Hermione know and Harry
9:37 actively explains to him why it's a
9:39 problem this will lead to a really nice
9:40 scene of Draco sitting down and
9:42 apologizing to her not on behalf of
9:44 Marcus but for his own lack of action a
9:46 common thing we'll see going forward and
9:48 ignorance to the situation this could
9:50 even tie into the AOS Slytherin thing in
9:52 the book they need to ask him but due to
9:53 Hermione's hesitancy with the whole lack
9:55 of action thing she's probably not going
9:57 to want to talk to him directly for fear
9:59 of lying so poly's potion is still able
10:02 to be in the story see what I mean the
10:04 why but not the how is all I'm changing
10:06 here after that book two seems more or
10:08 less to be okay although I nixed the
10:09 part about Luci is trying to kill Harry
10:11 since that a wouldn't have worked to
10:13 begin with and B just wouldn't have made
10:15 any sense also Draco and Harry do that
10:17 thing that all sports couples do when
10:18 they're on opposing teams where they're
10:20 all business on the field and give each
10:22 other nicknames like scarhead and slick
10:23 back to get their blood boiling a little
10:25 bit but off the field they're the most
10:27 ailc [ __ ] in the room [Music]
10:34 and I love that so yeah book two it's
10:36 pretty much unchanged however I am
10:38 adding this thing where Ron and Harry
10:39 start to maybe have a thing with one
10:41 another but then realize that nah
10:43 they're more brotherly than boyfriendy
10:45 and that's the thing that happens all
10:46 the time just because you both like the
10:48 same gender doesn't mean you can't be
10:51 friends hell that's how I metant my best
10:53 friend book three though is where things
10:56 get a lot more interesting from this
10:58 book onward Draco becomes less of a
11:00 presence in the main Nar ative he mostly
11:02 existed to annoy Harry but now that's
11:04 what pansy's party is for so now I want
11:06 to inflate draco's Time by having him be
11:08 more involved with the story if not the
11:10 plot I wanted to be more in the group 2
11:12 years is enough time to establish this
11:13 and we can just have him be there
11:15 wholesale this is also where har and
11:17 Draco start dating in books one and two
11:19 I mentioned big character departure
11:20 moments for him but I wanted to add in
11:22 bits of them kind of blushing and
11:24 flirting a little so that by Christmas
11:25 in year three they're just comfortable
11:26 enough to go to each other's common
11:28 rooms and even on some weekends sleep
11:30 together and by that I mean actually
11:32 sleep they're [ __ ] 13 I'm not going
11:34 there with this you perves I also want
11:37 them to be a thing before the book ends
11:39 so like right before the climax I
11:40 haven't really thought of a way to
11:41 change the prisoner of aavan other than
11:43 just swapping serious reell tricks so
11:45 that she's introduced earlier and while
11:46 she's not tied to any of the personal
11:49 [ __ ] going on she is a little crazy and
11:51 probably bored or wants revenge on
11:52 pedigree for being the reason her master
11:54 was destroyed you can finagle this in
11:56 any way you want so that it's not as
11:57 contrived as it comes up in the books
11:59 and the only reason they have to go back
12:00 conf fix up is that pedigree and bellat
12:02 tritz got away and that buck beak is
12:05 dead which I mean come on oh that
12:07 reminds me I actually don't mind keeping
12:09 Draco to be the one hurt by him still
12:10 just instead of running up to it he was
12:12 a bit too quick and nervous and so that
12:13 scared the BB and caused him to get
12:15 scratched this could also lead to a
12:17 really cute scene where Harry tries to
12:19 fix the situation by taking Draco to see
12:20 Buck beak and getting the two to get
12:22 along and even has Draco get on for a
12:24 fly around the castle and of course
12:26 Draco is terrified but Harry's behind
12:28 him so he won't fall off and this is the
12:30 scene where they get together Harry
12:31 might also tease him like come on you
12:33 rather broom almost as well as I do and
12:35 this big old softy is scaring you and
12:37 Draco gets all blushy and annoyed like
12:38 yeah well at least the broom cat knock
12:40 me off if it gets mad little things like
12:42 that book four starts and the two are
12:44 now dating Harry even Springs to get
12:46 Draco a phone that has a glamour charm
12:47 placed on it so that it looks like a
12:49 book or an object the rest of the family
12:50 wouldn't really notice so that they can
12:52 talk over the summer since his parents
12:54 suck and to be honest the boys don't
12:55 really want to deal with it the black
12:57 family or Dumbledore wouldn't really
12:59 care and if Harry's with the dersley
13:01 they have no idea he's got money so
13:02 transferring it to pounds and mailing
13:04 him a phone would be pretty easy that's
13:05 another thing in this version we're
13:07 getting rid of the whole magical muggle
13:09 separation thing and in Hogwarts there's
13:11 TVs and game stations and cell phones in
13:13 my head this is taking place during
13:15 current day there is no way in hell
13:16 Wizards are not going to be on the pulse
13:18 of pop culture and muggleborn witches
13:20 and wizards who don't like to read or
13:22 just kind of want to zone out for a bit
13:24 should be allowed to so [ __ ] it we're
13:26 gentrifying Hogwarts anyway the two
13:28 spent all summer being 14 and texting
13:30 each other and and even managed to send
13:31 each other gifts for their birthdays
13:33 Harry sends him something small and
13:35 personal like a pin or a small trinket
13:36 they saw on Hogs bead in the spring and
13:38 Draco sends him a lot of expensive
13:40 clothes and stuff but Harry's favorite
13:42 one was ironically one Draco didn't
13:44 think Harry would like all that much
13:46 since it was the cheapest one and the
13:48 one Draco handpicked rather than having
13:49 someone else buy them like the rest of
13:51 them like a picture of them something
13:53 that has meaning but isn't something
13:55 Draco is used to doing and so
13:57 overcompensated just in case and that's
13:59 pretty much them throughout the book
14:01 they're just a really happy healthy
14:02 couple that deals with the [ __ ] this
14:05 book has as best they can from the tiff
14:07 with Ron to the rumors to the actual
14:09 danger and rather than Hermione getting
14:11 photograph with him it's Draco and this
14:13 will come up later I promise you that I
14:14 also think it'd be pretty cute to have
14:16 these to be stubborn to ask each other
14:18 to the youu ball rather than just
14:19 assuming Draco would even want to go or
14:21 stay for Christmas since his family
14:23 usually does stuff that or he just
14:25 wanted to be asked and Harry's like
14:27 you're my boyfriend of course we're
14:29 going together and if I have to ask so
14:31 do you God I love writing dumb arguments
14:33 like that it's no Stakes but you get to
14:35 see how people pick fights and it's
14:37 interesting another thing that needs to
14:38 be addressed is that draco's family are
14:41 still going to be themselves and of
14:42 course I wouldn't put it past the mouth
14:45 voice to be vly homophobic and if they
14:46 aren't they'd be more upset that he's
14:48 dating Harry Potter what this does is
14:50 adds more friction between him and his
14:52 parents that would give Harry some good
14:54 chances to show empathy and help him
14:56 through some tough nights that or just
14:57 be a nice scene of them being
14:59 emotionally raw with one another
15:00 something to mention is that while Draco
15:03 is desperately happy with Harry he's not
15:05 super keen on making it public outside
15:07 the student body and even then he's
15:08 careful around other Slytherin students
15:10 for fear of them telling their parents
15:12 and them telling his parents so he keeps
15:15 it under wraps as best he can and Harry
15:17 gets that being the chosen one and the
15:20 boy who lived he's not exactly adverse
15:21 to keeping one aspect of his life to
15:23 himself for once at this place this
15:24 leads me to the end of the book where
15:26 Cedric is dead and Baldi is back and
15:28 while Draco is comforting Harry through
15:29 the traumatic event and he's a little
15:32 stiff and reserved like he's thinking
15:34 about something ending on a still happy
15:36 note but one that needs some paying off
15:38 later also don't kill B Crouch Jr you
15:40 legit had a cool idea to have a sort of
15:42 henchman in parallel to his father for
15:44 later books and you just killed him off
15:47 we got David [ __ ] tenant for what all
15:49 of seven minutes of screen time no that
15:52 does not fly pun not intended Bad series
15:56 bad book five so this is my favorite
15:58 book and I like a lot of things in it
16:00 but but I still have some stuff to
16:02 change first off Draco is now on board
16:04 with Hermione's house elf anti-slavery
16:06 movement which also were're changing the
16:08 name from spew to help the house elf
16:11 Liberation party because you know
16:13 they're here to help also [ __ ] you
16:15 Rowling while drau isn't immediately on
16:17 board with it given the time he spent
16:18 with these three and the fact he learned
16:20 to stop being racist against muggle
16:22 borns he's more easily swayed to also
16:24 understand enslavement and why it's bad
16:26 which the group on the whole now works
16:28 towards outside of umb's annoyances and
16:30 Hermione is play placed in the right for
16:31 doing this rather than being perceived
16:34 as shrill or naive about the whole thing
16:36 seriously what the [ __ ] was up with that
16:39 secondly Draco is a bit more on edge and
16:40 throughout the year becomes more distant
16:42 from Harry because of his home life and
16:43 problems now that his family has seen
16:45 that photo Rita took of them back in the
16:47 second task the year prior compounded
16:49 with the trouble with Snape so Snape is
16:51 seen into Harry's mind and found out
16:52 their dating and when Harry backfired
16:54 the spell on snate like in the movie or
16:56 even went into the pensive I don't
16:58 really care he's infuriated and out of
17:01 spite tells Lucius because he's a dick
17:02 however and this has to be stated as
17:05 best I can through all of this Draco is
17:07 still a helpful main character for
17:09 example he joins um's screed against the
17:11 school so that he can look out for Harry
17:12 and let him know if they're on patrol or
17:14 if they're going to be a raid or
17:16 something along with that Dumbledore's
17:17 Army has Rando Slytherin students who
17:19 want to actually learn magic rather than
17:21 just read about it because that's
17:23 actually what their house is about
17:24 furthering the understanding and
17:27 practice of magic I'm honestly surprised
17:28 it's not like ravenclaws that are in
17:30 that group of hers seeing as they're all
17:32 about book learning and studies and
17:33 things like that Practical Magic
17:35 wouldn't occur to most ravenclaws but
17:37 I'm digressing from there the book
17:39 largely stays the same Draco does end up
17:41 going to the ministry with them though
17:43 and I like this idea a lot because he
17:45 now has to [ __ ] nut up and face his
17:48 father head on but the only problem is
17:51 that he can't like I said before draco's
17:53 big problem is his lack of actual action
17:55 in things he can talk a big game but
17:57 he's not super confident in his
17:59 abilities or presence so buckles under
18:01 his father he still sides with Harry but
18:04 he doesn't fight Lucius and in fact the
18:06 only thing he can muster to do is grab
18:07 Harry's hand for support which is what
18:09 allows him to speak in front of him at
18:11 all this leads me to the veil of death
18:13 scene I'm torn here because I already
18:15 talked about it earlier but what I think
18:17 is better is that if we keep it as I
18:19 described it compounded with my rewrite
18:21 of asban then Bellatrix being the one to
18:23 kill Sirius becomes this much more
18:25 personal thing that be can tied into the
18:27 endings of books six and seven it makes
18:28 this whole thing more of an interesting
18:30 Dynamic since in the original Cannon
18:32 she's just kind of a random third act
18:34 hell Mary to be a threat she's the
18:36 harling to Voldemort's Joker hopelessly
18:38 devoted to the psychopath who pays her
18:40 absolutely no mind and only uses her
18:42 when it's convenient and I think making
18:44 her Robin turn Nightwing turn defective
18:46 Batman in this series kind of adds up
18:48 rather than just being some named goon
18:50 someone else gets to take out so that
18:53 Harry only has one body on his count or
18:54 you can make her a threat they both
18:56 share or that Draco just hates his aunt
18:58 for the way she treats him and his
18:59 parents both before and after the
19:01 ministry scuffle and what she's done to
19:03 his boyfriend's dad it'd be so much more
19:06 interesting this way why is she so bad
19:08 at writing things this regrettably leads
19:11 me to a sad thing though well sadder
19:13 than serious dying of it all possible
19:15 but at the end of the book after Harry
19:16 has been consoled and the immediate
19:20 shock has worn off Draco breaks up with
19:23 him okay so this and book s are the
19:25 reason this video even came into being
19:26 in the first place the rest of this was
19:28 building up the relationship in your
19:29 mind to make making these two [ __ ]
19:32 make sense more or less as they are to
19:33 kick off this relationship and
19:35 heartbreak Harry is feeling leads him to
19:37 thinking Draco is a Death Eater because
19:38 why else would he suddenly break up with
19:40 him and look paler and more depressed
19:42 than ever he's trying to protect Harry
19:43 and by having it be so that they're no
19:45 longer a thing Voldemort can't use him
19:47 to get to Harry since he has about as
19:50 much understanding about love as a rock
19:52 now the man isn't stupid he just thinks
19:53 using one's heart to get to them isn't
19:56 as smart as just trying to kill them the
19:58 anti xort if you will and yes I will
20:00 find a way to drag the series into
20:02 anything don't test me anyway what this
20:04 does is explain away why Harry's friends
20:06 don't believe him when he says Draco is
20:08 a Death Eater because in the books it
20:10 kind of comes off as a plot and driven
20:11 since they know his parents are Death
20:13 Eaters and they know Voldemort's Alive
20:15 and Kicking so I don't get this hand
20:17 waving I just never understood it adding
20:19 in the Heartbreak makes sense and given
20:21 that the year prior Draco was a little

20:55 commonality would lead to more

20:59 him being one of the only other non
21:01 straight people to have a somewhat third
21:02 person perspective on all of this would
21:04 be good to see also the scene with
21:06 sectum SRA is now going to have a tag
21:08 along Goyle is going to be the one hit
21:10 by it because he's the one who initiated
21:12 the duel with Harry and Draco is just
21:14 begging him to leave so that whole scene
21:17 still happens it just adds a bit of red
21:18 to Harry's Ledger in exchange for the
21:20 ending Draco gets in this book Harry
21:22 spends the whole year obsessing only to
21:24 be proven right and at the end we get
21:26 the tower scene I want this to mean
21:29 something so in the original of events
21:30 all we really get is that Draco has to
21:32 do this because he was ordered to and
21:35 Harry kind of just never comments on it
21:36 he never really has an internal
21:38 discussion with it and it's always
21:40 bothered me I'd like him to talk to his
21:42 friends about it since Dumbledore
21:44 is well he's not doing so hot at the
21:46 moment he can't really talk to Draco
21:48 because they've already escaped so they
21:49 can't really have time for that a
21:52 longing look across the burning field
21:56 absolutely just not talk book Seven is
21:58 again mostly unchanged given that Draco
22:00 isn't present for 95% of it I do think
22:02 having a scene of how his life's been
22:03 during this year could be very
22:05 interesting or even if there was a show
22:07 adaptation an episode seeing events from
22:08 his perspective would be super
22:10 compelling the four scenes I want to
22:12 touch on are the one at Mal boy Manor
22:13 the one in the forest the one in the
22:15 courtyard and one after everything is
22:17 all said and done so obviously the scene
22:19 in the manor is going to be similar but
22:21 I want there to be this look in their
22:23 eyes Harry a pleading one and Draco a
22:26 more searching slinking one where he's
22:27 trying to figure out how to explain to
22:29 him that he knows who he is without
22:31 telling everyone in the room especially
22:33 the Dangerous Ones the only thing I can
22:35 think of is a nickname or something made
22:37 up like lightning bug or something cute
22:38 like that saying stuff like that's not
22:40 my lightning bug and looking away so he
22:42 won't cry but Harry getting it showing
22:44 that there's still heart there and that
22:46 when this is all said and done they can
22:48 try to figure this out scene number two
22:50 is that of the forest see in the book
22:51 The Malou booys are looking for Draco
22:53 and Narcissa gets Harry to tell her if
22:55 Draco is alive in exchange for
22:57 bullshitting Voldemort and I like that a
22:59 lot it's a good scene the tension works
23:01 and it's well crafted however the big
23:03 change I want to make is that Draco is
23:05 here in the forest and instead of asking
23:07 if Harry knows whether or not he's alive
23:09 she asks if he still loves him which
23:11 when you get right down to it is what
23:13 the malf boys care about not love in its
23:17 purest form but themselves so Narcissa
23:19 asking this means that if this one
23:21 person is what makes her son happy then
23:23 [ __ ] her husband's boss he's not exactly
23:25 high on her priority list especially
23:27 after trying to force him to kill a man
23:30 at the Rial age of 16 in the courtyard
23:32 thereafter I want this scene that has
23:33 been floating around the movie's cutting
23:35 room floor and even people's head
23:37 cannons to become actual cannon in where
23:39 Maloy throws Harry's wand I didn't
23:40 mention this earlier but the little
23:42 scuffle on the manner happens but rather
23:44 than Harry getting draco's wand he just
23:46 gets the other two if my memory serves
23:47 me correctly they have at least two
23:49 other wands to work with and so Draco
23:51 having his original wand and giving it
23:53 to Harry would pass ownership to him
23:54 especially if the passage about
23:56 Hawthorne wands is true this also
23:58 applies to the Elder on since Harry t
24:00 technically beat Draco that night so it
24:02 still belongs to Harry all this time
24:04 it's just that now he gets draco's OG
24:07 wand as well and lastly there's when
24:08 everything's done the [ __ ] Thanos
24:10 snapped away the dust is settled the
24:12 Malou boys all have a cry together and
24:13 everyone is mourning the newly dead and
24:16 the old dead but Harry and Draco sneak
24:18 off and have a talk they have a really
24:21 big long conversation about apologizing
24:23 and crying and saying everything they
24:24 wish they could have said for the past
24:26 years all in service of getting their
24:28 feelings out Harry even repairs his one
24:30 with the Elder one and gives Draco back
24:33 his signifying that everything is as it
24:35 should be then the two get back together
24:37 they have a life together they adopt
24:39 some kids and even have a serate if they
24:41 wanted I have no idea what names they
24:43 give these kids because the names they
24:45 did pick in the book are stupid and snap
24:47 deserves his own discussion and rewrite
24:49 but as he currently stands he is not
24:51 worth a middle name of one of Harry's
24:54 kids I will say I'm cool with pansy and
24:56 Marcus having kids and chilling out over
24:58 time even making amends later in life
25:00 showing that bullies can get better I'd
25:02 like to think Scorpio would be their kid
25:04 in this or Draco really liked the name
25:06 and wanted one of his sons to have it I
25:08 don't really care either way but overall
25:11 they lived happy full lives and don't
25:13 even get me started on the curs child
25:16 this thing is already long enough as it
25:19 is so yeah that's my rewrite of drao and
25:21 Harry to make them make sense in this
25:25 framework is it perfect no does it work
25:27 mostly I think yeah Draco is a character
25:29 that is so in integral to the story that
25:31 removing him entirely doesn't work but
25:33 he's such a nothing character at the
25:34 same time to the point that his
25:36 Redemption Arc is so offscreen that it
25:39 doesn't work it's the Diamond Tiara
25:40 effect where suddenly we're supposed to
25:42 care about the schoolyard bully having
25:44 his own problems when in reality he just
25:46 needs to be kicked hard which is why I
25:48 wrote him to begin with I wanted his
25:50 ending to make sense so I worked
25:52 backwards from the idea of making the
25:54 ending more coherent on his end also I'm
25:56 a big gay sap and wanted more gay rep in
25:57 the series I grew up with and wanted to
25:59 flex by writing brand a little bit and
26:02 accidentally wrote a 6000w essay on why
