0:03 Right, this is the 2026 Sea Otter
0:05 Classic, the big North American trade
0:08 show. It's very exciting time of year,
0:11 springtime, lots of bikes and new tech
0:13 to look at, and I've heard about some
0:15 very exciting ones as well. So, let's
0:22 >> Right, we've headed straight over to the
0:23 tent, which is next to Brembo.
0:25 Interesting uh components on this bike,
0:28 but this is a very cool, brand new bike.
0:31 This is the Forbidden Dreadnaugh E. So
0:32 this time last year they launched their
0:34 Avenox powered bike. Their first one,
0:37 the Cororey, but this is all new big
0:39 travel, virtually a dangle bike. It's
0:41 170 mil of rear travel with their
0:44 trifecta high pivot rear suspension, 180
0:48 mil front end, 63° head angle, uh super
0:51 slack, MX wheel set on this, so mixed
0:53 wheels. Uh it's got Olan suspension on
0:57 it. Big uh 38 fork up front. And also
0:58 these brakes are quite interesting. So
1:00 Brembo, it's a brake you may have heard
1:03 of from Motorsport, but also they got
1:05 involved with Dal Racing last year with
1:06 the Specialized Gravity team running
1:09 these brakes and they're pretty bold to
1:11 look at, but um they've got triple
1:14 adjustment on the levers. So reach ratio
1:17 and uh free stroke. So super load of
1:20 adjustment on there. And with the Oins
1:22 on this bike, it's a pretty special
1:23 build on what looks like a very cool
1:25 bike. There are four different build
1:27 kits available this bike with either six
1:30 or 800 WH batteries available. You got
1:33 the M2 and M2S motor options. Uh this
1:35 obviously pretty special build with the
1:37 Brembo and the Oins. And you got
1:39 Industry 9 carbon enduro wheels. Like I
1:42 said, mixed wheel size and those hydra 2
1:44 hubs. There's another brand new bike
1:46 under the tent as well. And this is the
1:50 propane econo aluminium available in two
1:53 options. This is the enduro bike. It's
1:55 almost tipping over. And uh check out
1:57 the frame. It's a lovely color. It's
1:58 aluminium. I think it's called funky
2:01 oyster. It's sort of a slightly pinky
2:04 silver, but it looks amazing. Long
2:06 travel bike. Again, 160 mil rear travel.
2:10 Uh 170 fork. Uh mixed wheel size. And
2:13 again, Avanox available with different
2:16 those 600 800 W hour batteries and again
2:18 the M2 and M2S motors. You've got
2:20 adjustability at the back as well for
2:22 chain stay length. And you can also make
2:24 this a full 29iner bike if you want.
2:27 Prices start at $5,599.
2:31 You check out these uh Moto GP brakes
2:32 and Formula 1 brake systems. Absolutely
2:36 amazing. Brembo calipers and carbon
2:39 composite brake rotors. Apparently, they
2:40 won't be coming to the mountain bikes
2:42 soon, unfortunately, because you can't
2:45 get them up to temperature, but pretty
2:46 amazing looking piece of kit and
2:49 obviously super light. Amlow have got a
2:50 really big setup this year at Sea Auto,
2:52 of course, we've been talking about them
2:54 an awful lot, as has everyone else
2:56 because of their two brand new bikes and
2:58 the new motors as well. So, you've got
3:03 the PR and the PX. PX there, PR here
3:06 with removable batteries. M2S, the
3:10 high-end top power. Uh, and then the M2
3:13 on that cheaper build that less than 4,000
3:15 4,000
3:17 PR, which I've been riding. But also, I
3:18 think what's really nice whilst we're
3:21 here is if we can get in there, they
3:23 have a sort of transparent frame, which
3:24 I think is a really nice way of having a
3:26 look at the system. Obviously, this is a
3:30 replica, plastic replica of a PX frame
3:32 set. You can see the system that we
3:33 talked an awful lot about in the video
3:36 we did. M2S motor. You can see how slim
3:38 that battery is and how far up actually
3:40 the down tube it goes. But as well as
3:43 that, you've got that uh 40 adjustments
3:45 of geometry configurations. So you've
3:47 got the chain stay flip chip there. You
3:48 can see you can also see that speed
3:51 sensor molded in right by that brake
3:53 caliper. Then you've got the flip chip
3:56 up here on that shock uh linkage. And
3:58 you can't see it, but the headset cups
4:00 as well up there. So, so many different
4:01 combos you can run with this, but it's
4:02 definitely nice to have a look inside
4:04 the frame and see how it all fits
4:06 together. Sea otter is my favorite trade
4:07 show because of where it is in
4:09 California. It's very nice, but also
4:11 it's outside and you can ride your bike
4:13 here and Amlo actually have a fleet of
4:15 test bikes. So, if you are here over the
4:17 next couple of days, come on over, grab
4:18 a bike, go and ride some of the amazing
4:21 trails out here. Right, we're in the Met
4:23 booth. They got helmets for all sorts of
4:25 riding. Obviously got World Tour Road
4:26 helmets over there. And then they've got
4:28 a large range of mountain bike helmets.
4:30 It's the Revo that you've probably seen
4:32 me wear in other riding videos. It's a
4:34 new color called Liliaak, I believe.
4:35 Looks like a lilac color to me. Very
4:38 nice looking. Uh got this is the top end
4:41 helmet. So you've got the MIPS
4:44 rotational liner inside there. And a
4:46 what I absolutely love is this Fidlock
4:48 uh magnetic chin strap, which is really
4:50 easy to slide on and off. Well, it clips
4:53 back itself basically. So very handy.
4:55 And moving over to this side. So
4:57 Bluegrass is part of the MET family.
4:59 It's their gravity orientated kit.
5:01 You've got their obviously their
5:03 breathable Vanguard fullface helmet. The
5:06 Jetro sort of 3/4. That style of helmet
5:08 is becoming very popular and the legit
5:10 proper fullface Daniel helmet in that
5:12 new colorway. I believe it's called
5:16 burnt burnt something. I forget. But
5:17 this is what I really want to look at.
5:19 This is a venture vest. So this is brand
5:21 new. It's actually not out yet. Uh it's
5:24 coming out the 29th of this month. Uh so
5:26 this is a back protector and chest
5:28 protector. So level one chest protector
5:32 and level two uh back protector, but
5:34 this is very handy. It's much more than
5:35 that. You've got lots of chest pockets.
5:37 Actually, there's pockets all over it.
5:41 So this is designed to replace your, you
5:43 know, your riding pack and have
5:45 protection as well. You've got space
5:47 inside there to hang up to a 1 and a
5:50 half liter bladder. Uh, you've got a
5:52 sort of pocket in the back to roll up
5:53 your coat and stick it in. You got
5:55 another zip pocket there. And I feel
5:58 like this is a very useful over the
6:02 jersey protection and ride impact. I
6:04 can't actually wait to get one myself.
6:05 It's quite a big show for Specialized
6:07 this year as well as the new bikes
6:08 they've got. Well, they're showing off a
6:10 bit of history as well with that lever
6:13 that came out in 2015. 275 wheels, front
6:16 and rear, 140 mil of travel. I guess
6:17 makes it a little bit dated now, but it
6:20 was a game changer bike 11 years ago
6:22 now. But also, they're launching an
6:24 ambush 3, brand new helmet with a
6:27 fidlock magnetic buckle and MIPS and a
6:29 radial tire as well. They've got a nice
6:31 way of showing what radial actually
6:33 means. You can see the threads inside
6:35 the car of the tire. When they're folded
6:37 over normally at 45 to 50°, they look a
6:39 lot like that, little squares. But with
6:41 radial, it's at a different angle. And
6:43 that means that the actual uh
6:45 construction of the tire feels different
6:47 and it gives you more grip and more
6:49 durability for the same tire pressure.
6:52 They have these grid gravity radial
6:54 tires available. Obviously Schwala came
6:55 first with these, but more brands are
6:57 bringing them. And I know we're not here
6:58 to look at Daniel bikes, but I've got to
7:00 take a look cuz they've got their what
7:01 looks like a production demo over there
7:03 and the prototype team bikes as well.
7:05 Let's take a look at those. to
7:08 specialize. Obviously, they have the
7:10 Levo Gen 4 bike that we saw this time
7:12 last year and they've gone down to the
7:15 Levo R. So, this is a shorter travel
7:17 bike. I think they say get ready for
7:19 rally. That's what the R stands for for
7:22 this bike. So, different frame is a full
7:25 29iner, shorter travel. So, it's 130
7:29 rear travel, 140 fork with that 3.1
7:32 motor. the same as the normal Levo, but
7:34 brand new, I think they launched it
7:37 today, is the Levo Evo. So, longer
7:39 travel on that. So, there's a different
7:41 shock extender on the rear. Uh, and that
7:45 is a 170 mil rear travel bike. They put
7:48 a 180 fork on there. So, you've now got
7:50 all sorts of options with Levos,
7:51 depending on the style of riding you
7:53 like to do. Mixed wheel size as
7:55 standard. Again, suits the longer travel
7:57 bike in my humble opinion. And great
7:59 looking bike. actually take a quick look
8:01 outside cuz the Levo R has got a very
8:03 nice paint job out there as well. This
8:07 is 810 W of peak power with 105 N me of
8:09 torque. But if you go to the topsp spec
8:12 uh S Works model that has 850 W peak
8:15 power and 111 N of torque, there is an
8:19 840Wh battery and a 600 option as well.
8:21 Available in a couple of different build
8:25 kits. So, the Levo 4 Evo Comp that uh is $9,200
8:26 $9,200
8:29 with Rock Shocks Zeb uh Select fork,
8:32 Select Shock, Maven Bronze Brakes, and
8:33 then the one you're looking at here is
8:37 the Evo Pro. This is $12,300
8:39 with the Rock Shock Zeb Ultimate fork,
8:42 Ultimate Shock, Stram Silver Maven
8:46 Brakes, and the Exo Eagle transmission.
8:47 Uh, obviously the removable battery on
8:50 this bike like the other um, Levos on
8:52 the market as well. What I think is
8:54 interesting is if you wanted to convert
8:56 your regular Levo, you can actually buy
8:58 this shock extender to extend your rear
9:00 travel and then you'd want to bump up
9:02 the fork on that bike as well. But nice
9:04 to have the option aftermarket if you
9:06 want to do that. We are at the Ride Wrap
9:09 stand, the frame film protection uh,
9:10 company that has lots of very nice
9:12 bikes. But up front they have a
9:16 beautiful looking Carve Evo RSX bike. So
9:18 this is the brand new long travel avanox
9:21 machine. 180 mil travel front and rear.
9:23 It's got the brand new rock shock
9:25 suspension on there. So that Zeb fork
9:27 with the linear XL bulge. Great looking
9:30 fork and also this vivid shock. Again,
9:33 linear XL. Got some frame adjustment on
9:35 here. You've got high and low BB and
9:37 obviously that slacks out or steepens up
9:38 the head angle as well on the bottom of
9:41 that shock. It comes with mixed wheel
9:43 size, which I think really suits a long
9:45 travel bike like this. But if you wish,
9:47 you can put a 29iner rear wheel on there
9:50 as well. Carbon front end, aluminium
9:52 rear. You've got tube inside tube
9:55 routting for the cables and that lovely
9:58 Avanox top tube display as well. And I
9:59 think the blue color looks amazing in
10:01 this California sunshine. You've got the
10:04 big Stram Maven brakes for huge stopping
10:05 power. So obviously you can ride this
10:08 bike fast downhill. big 220 mil disc up
10:11 front, 200 on the rear. Nice touches.
10:13 You got a mud guard bolts onto the rear.
10:16 And you've also got a fidlock uh bottle
10:17 mount and also a little tool mount up
10:19 front as well, so you can get out for
10:21 long days and be uh ready for any
10:24 adventures. The bikes also come factory
10:26 fitted with this ride wrap kit, so your
10:28 bike is protected from brand new. Also
10:30 underneath the ride wrap tent is this
10:33 forest style brand new bike eurion. This
10:36 is their Avenox bike. Definitely an
10:38 unusual looking machine with that rear
10:40 linkage, but um it's quite nice to have
10:41 something different. It's also got a
10:44 beer strapped to the down tube and a Fox
10:46 podium fork, crank brothers carbon
10:48 wheel, so very high-end spec on this
10:51 bike. There's a another long travel
10:53 aluminum Avanox bike. There's a good
10:54 selection of them actually. And this is
10:57 a great looking bike. This is Common Sol
11:00 Meta SX. Brand new bike from the Andoran
11:03 company with the Avenox M2S motor. Like
11:06 I said, aluminium front end. is 160 mil
11:09 rear travel, 170 forks, uh mixed wheel
11:11 size, and actually it's quanting to see
11:13 how the sort of the top tubes looks
11:14 different on these aluminium bikes with
11:17 that OLED display put in there. But it's
11:19 a great looking bike. Obviously, you've
11:23 got the the power of that M2S motor. So,
11:25 nice to have another long travel option.
11:27 Uh two different builds actually on this
11:28 white version over here. This is a Rock
11:31 Shocks bike with that new Zeb up front
11:34 and that Super Deluxe linear XL rear
11:36 shock. Obviously, the Stram brakes to
11:40 match. This bike is actually $9,200.
11:42 Over here, you've got a Fox Shimano
11:44 bike, which obviously with the Kushima
11:45 and the black frame looks very nice as
11:48 well. This Fox bike, you got a factory
11:51 36 fork up front and the Flowex rear
11:54 shock. Shimano XT brakes. Actually, it's
11:56 quite nice to look at the details. The
11:58 sort of the way the motor molds into the
11:59 down tube is different to any other
12:01 Avenox bikes I've seen. And then the
12:04 charge port is vertically on top. So,
12:06 nice little details on this bike. We're
12:08 at the Industry 9 booth. I see over
12:11 there some 32er wheels, believe it or
12:12 not, but we're not here to look at
12:14 those. Here to look at their ebike
12:16 wheels, and it's all changed. You may
12:19 remember last year the industry 9 bought
12:22 we are one the Canadianbased
12:24 carbon rim company. Well now you can see
12:26 the fruits of that uh convergence
12:29 because this is a set of wheels are
12:32 basically all inhouse except for the
12:35 bearings. So, Industry 9 Hydro2 hubs
12:37 built in their factory in Asheville,
12:40 North Carolina, as are their one piece
12:43 aluminium spokes, which they've tested
12:45 and tested. Actually, both the Hydra 2
12:48 hubs uh and the spokes have been through
12:51 all sorts of torture tests now super
12:53 reliable. Um particularly, so the spokes
12:55 are super strong. So, they've done loads
12:56 of measuring. Obviously, there is no
12:57 nipple on these spokes. It's all made
13:00 out of one piece material. And also just
13:02 the way they line up with that hub.
13:05 They're tangential and obviously they do
13:06 cross but where they cross this other
13:08 spoke they do not touch. So that gives
13:11 them a lot of strength as well. The Fuse
13:13 ebike wheels are available with these
13:15 convergence carbon rims which you
13:16 probably recognize if you ever seen
13:19 those W1 rims. Really sort of unique
13:21 style them. You see sort of wavy shape
13:23 through there. Carbon fiber and also
13:25 they've got a hollow bead aluminium rim
13:27 option as well down there. You can see
13:29 the shape of these convergence carbon
13:32 rims, how the angle changes from spokes
13:33 as they're going from one side of the
13:35 hub to the other. So, they line up
13:38 completely perpendicular, parallel, not
13:40 sure what the word is to the hub. So,
13:42 you've got a really flat surface area
13:43 where it touches the rim. You can see
13:45 nice and close up actually the threaded
13:47 part of the spoke that actually it's
13:50 wider than the rolled part of the spoke.
13:52 So, super strong, lots of surface area
13:54 on there. And it as it goes into
13:56 literally threads into the hub there and
13:58 they come in loads of different colors.
14:01 You've obviously got the 870 points of
14:02 engagement on the freewheel which means
14:05 that every point4 one of a degree that
14:08 you turn the actual the free hub paws
14:09 engage and actually you get a very nice
14:11 little fidget spinner to see those PS
14:13 work in action. Now listen to him as well.
14:19 >> Right, I'm taking a look at an Aventon
14:21 Current. This is a customuilt bike. Uh
14:23 very cool. Well, I'll talk about details
14:25 in a second, but this brand is new. You
14:28 may have seen Steve riding the this
14:32 Aventon current out in California, Bray,
14:34 uh, where they're actually based. Super
14:37 good value bike. So, the ADV aluminium
14:44 but their most expensive bike, the uh,
14:47 EXP carbon bike is $599. So, very good
14:51 value bikes. 140 mil rear travel 150
14:53 fork. And this is actually a custom
14:55 build as well. You can tell by the the
14:57 color of that uh rear derailer and
14:59 cassette and the wheels. And also it's
15:02 got a Pike fork up front. Great looking
15:06 bike. The Ultra X motor gives you 110
15:09 new meters of torque and 750 W of peak
15:11 power. And there is an 800 W battery in
15:13 this bike. Of course, there has been a
15:16 lot of news about uh certain motor
15:18 brands recently, but I'm glad to see
15:20 Bosch are here at CR with a massive
15:22 presence. They have got an awful lot of
15:25 bikes you can take out for a test.
15:26 Obviously, all the brands they work
15:30 with. You got Yeti, Pivot, Santa Cruz.
15:32 Uh and also you've got some of their
15:34 technology. You've got some ABS Pro
15:36 equipped bikes I've seen knocking
15:38 around. Obviously, I tried that out
15:40 recently. Very interesting. So obviously
15:43 Bosch is a hardware and software company
15:45 and they roll out their updates often
15:48 and there are rumblings of a new update
15:50 coming for their bikes very soon via
15:53 their Bosch Flow app. But over in the
15:55 far end of the tent, I can actually see
15:58 some nice new bikes just recently
16:01 launched uh with Bosch Motors. Checking
16:04 out this Pivot LT.
16:08 Great looking bike. Uh also Kona in the middle.
16:10 middle.
16:12 That is their remote 160 and it's very
16:14 far end. This is a brand new bike. This
16:17 is the Ibis Oso. Uh I think there are
16:20 three models this bike available. So
16:20 we're going to head straight over to
16:23 Ibis get some more details. Right here
16:25 we are. And there are say three
16:28 different builds for this Ibis Oso. This
16:30 is the latest bike to be launched with a
16:32 Bosch motor gen 5 motor. But if you take
16:34 a look at these details, it says here
16:37 Bosch CX Gen 5 top secret Newton meters,
16:40 top secret power multiplier, which does
16:43 give you an idea on something coming in
16:46 the pipe works. I'm not exactly sure
16:48 when, but something is coming soon. But
16:50 great looking bike, complete update.
16:51 Ibis did used to have an Oso, but
16:53 definitely a different looking machine.
16:55 Super adjustable. So, actually, let's
16:58 start. This is the Oso S. Oo fast. This
17:02 is full 29iner, 130 mil rear travel, 140
17:05 fork, $799
17:07 for the full build, 600 watt hour
17:09 internal battery, but obviously um
17:12 compatible with that 250Wh power more.
17:14 And actually over on the Bosch stand, I
17:16 saw one with a Bosch Powermore range
17:17 extender on it. And actually, it's a
17:19 nice little detail there that that
17:22 little flip cover for the charging port
17:23 has got a little magnet on it as well.
17:25 So when you're using that range stander,
17:29 it nicely sits open. uh modular dropouts
17:30 on this bike. So, as you can see, this
17:32 is full 29 of this bike, and you can
17:35 have short or long uh chain stay
17:38 options, but also that gives the option
17:40 switch to 275 wheels, which we'll see on
17:43 the different variations of this OSO.
17:45 Right now, moving up to the OSO TR, as
17:48 you might imagine, a trail bike. So,
17:50 beefier build on this bike are Rock
17:52 Shocks Lyric. This is actually set up as
17:54 full 29, but again, it says here you can
17:57 run this in MX wheel size. Same motor
17:59 and battery configuration in this. There
18:01 is a frame only option which is quite
18:04 nice. $6,599 for frame and shock and
18:07 then full bills from $8299 up to $9699.
18:10 All of these bikes have that Bosch Kiox
18:13 400C top tube display. Lovely and
18:15 completely flat. Nice integration on
18:17 that top tube. Now to the big travel
18:20 bikes, the OSO HD they say downhill both
18:24 ways. 165 mil rear travel with a 180
18:27 fork. obviously is a a Fox 38 and then
18:29 you have the Float X2 shock on the back.
18:31 So, actually it's the same frame for all
18:34 three bikes. Uh the short travel bike
18:36 actually has a different shock extender,
18:37 but on these two bigger travel bikes,
18:39 it's all in done in the stroke of the
18:41 shock. So, this has the longest stroke
18:44 on this bike for the most rear travel.
18:46 Big seat post insertion across all bikes
18:48 as well, so you can fit massive dropper
18:50 posts on there. And like I said before,
18:53 you've got the uh different dropouts the
18:56 rear. This bike does come as mixed wheel
18:58 size in the smaller options for the
