0:02 Now, already there are loads of new
0:05 bikes rumored for release in 2027. And
0:06 so, in this video, I thought I'd round
0:08 them all up. We'll go through each of
0:10 the major manufacturers alphabetically
0:13 with what we might expect for yeah, the
0:15 next model year. So, we'll kick off with
0:17 Arillia, who almost constantly seem to
0:20 be filing patents and designs around
0:23 aerodynamics. We had one in our most
0:25 recent news episode around some new leg
0:27 winglets, for example. And so yeah, for
0:31 the next generation of V4s and 660s,
0:33 maybe we'll see even more aero
0:35 appendages upon their bodies. But I
0:38 think the main focus probably for 2027
0:42 will be a new Tuare 457 adventure bike.
0:44 They've already got the Tuare 660, a
0:46 brilliant middleweight adventure bike,
0:49 and they've already got the 457 parallel
0:51 twin, which is, you know, excellent in
0:55 the RS sports bike and the Tuare 457
0:57 Naked. So, yeah, a marriage of the two
0:58 seems like a no-brainer. It would make
1:01 for a great A2 friendly lightweight
1:03 adventure bike. And they've even posted
1:05 pictures of it on their own accounts.
1:07 Um, you know, being tested out in the
1:09 desert. So, this one seems like almost
1:12 certain for 2027 maybe be announced at
1:15 Ikema in November this year. You see,
1:16 that mid to small capacity adventure
1:18 market is absolutely booming. There's
1:20 probably no better example of that than
1:24 the new BMW F450GS.
1:26 But it's very rare for manufacturers to
1:28 invest all that research in developing a
1:31 new platform only to go and use it on
1:34 one individual bike. So this new 450
1:37 twin will more than likely be put to use
1:39 in some other applications and one of
1:41 them has already been spotted out
1:44 testing in India with the 450s being
1:48 made there by BMW's partners at TVS.
1:50 Previously, they made the 310 models
1:52 with a naked, the adventure version, the
1:55 GS, and also a sports bike, the RR. And
1:57 that's exactly what these latest
2:00 pictures appear to show, a 450 version
2:03 of that RR model. I think the 310
2:06 previously was only sold in India. You
2:08 could get the naked here. Uh you could
2:10 get the GS version as well, but the
2:13 sports bike was an India only offering.
2:14 But here's hoping with a bit more
2:17 capacity. there'll be more appeal for a
2:20 450 version and it could go head-to-head
2:22 with the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 500
2:26 or the KTM RC 390. On top of that
2:28 though, you'd have to expect um you know
2:30 a naked R version at some point as well.
2:32 And the only other bike I'd love to see
2:35 from BMW at some point would be a
2:38 production version of their R20 concept
2:40 Power Cruiser, which they showed a year
2:42 or two back. Now, unfortunately, there's
2:44 nothing really though to suggest that
2:45 that's on the way. no spy shots,
2:47 patterns, copyrights, anything like
2:49 that. Uh, so I guess that's just a bit
2:52 of a wait andsee situation. I think one
2:53 of the most impressive developments
2:56 though at IKMA in 2025 was perhaps this
3:01 new V4 SRR sports bike from CF Moto with
3:04 a new V4 engine that they say packs well
3:07 over 200 horsepower. It maybe didn't
3:10 seem conceivable that um CF Moto might
3:12 be able to build something so advanced
3:14 so quickly, but it does look the
3:16 business. It weighs in at less than 200
3:18 kilos and also they say it's got a full
3:21 suite of cutting edge tech and also the
3:23 latest aerodynamics. So, could it
3:25 possibly, you know, come to showrooms
3:27 then? Well, it does seem like there's a
3:29 chance with a line in the press release
3:32 from Ikema saying that this bike serves
3:33 as an advanced platform for the
3:36 development of future models that will
3:39 soon take shape. To me, actually sounds
3:40 like a fairly strong possibility. And
3:43 so, I'll certainly be swinging by the CF
3:44 Moto stand again when it gets to
3:46 November this year. Now, one bike that
3:48 we know Jucati will certainly be
3:50 announcing this year is the new V2
3:53 powered version of their Desert X
3:55 adventure bike because atma last year at
3:58 Motorcycle Live as well uh they had the
4:01 prototype on show. That new V2 engine as
4:03 well that replaces the elderly Tesla
4:06 Streer uh should help to shed a bit of
4:08 weight and so one of the best adventure
4:10 bikes in that mid to large capacity
4:13 class could be about to get even better.
4:15 On top of that though, it is Jucati's
4:17 centinery this year and so they're
4:19 looking to celebrate with lots of
4:21 announcements, lots of events as well
4:23 and so presumably there'll be at least a
4:26 couple of other new bikes in store. One
4:28 of them though it seems more than likely
4:31 will be an upspec version of their Diavo
4:33 V4 Power Cruiser with these design
4:36 filings recently reported on by
4:38 motorcycle.com. The visuals are slightly
4:41 updated. It looks more modern, perhaps a
4:42 bit more aggressive. if they've changed
4:44 the shape of the wheels as well, but
4:46 also it looks like it's got a slightly
4:49 bigger TFT dash. And also perhaps most
4:51 revealing is that it's got semi-active
4:54 electronic suspension. You can see the
4:55 wiring coming out of the top of the
4:57 forks there. And that semi-active
5:00 suspension is normally a feature that
5:02 you'll typically find on their S models.
5:04 So things like the Panagali or the
5:06 Street Fighter or the Multistrader. And
5:08 so perhaps we could be about to see a
5:10 new Diabl.
5:13 Now, Harley-Davidson's 2025 financial
5:15 results didn't make for particularly
5:17 pleasant reading, and so maybe it's time
5:19 for a bit of a change, and that's kind
5:21 of what they were promising. In an
5:23 earnings call last August with their
5:25 former CEO, he said, "Scheduled for
5:29 release in 2026 and for presentation to
5:32 our global dealer network in October,
5:33 I'm pleased to share that we're
5:36 targeting an entry price of below $6,000.
5:38 $6,000.
5:40 This new bike embodies boldness,
5:42 irreverence, and fun, capturing the
5:45 rebellious energy that defines the
5:47 Harley-Davidson experience. Now, they
5:50 have sold more affordable bikes in Asia
5:53 for some years now. They've got the 440,
5:55 I think a 350 as well, but it sounds
5:57 like they could be about to make either
5:59 those bikes globally available or at
6:02 least something similar in terms of
6:04 pricing. It's believed the first one
6:06 will be called the Sprint and so
6:07 potentially this could broaden the
6:10 appeal of the brand and also provide an
6:12 entry point for newer riders. It
6:13 certainly worked in recent memory for
6:15 the likes of Triumph with their new
6:18 400s. And so yeah, it could be um a lot
6:20 more affordable than the current
6:22 cheapest Harley, which I believe is the
6:24 Nightster at just under 10 grand here in
6:26 the UK. On top of that though, he also
6:29 said in 2026 that they'd be introducing
6:32 a new iconic cruiser and that one's
6:35 rumored to be called the Eagle and it's
6:37 believed to be a replacement for the
6:40 liquid called Sportsters which have been
6:41 a bit of a flop let's say since they
6:43 were introduced a couple of years back.
6:46 Now I will say since all of this the CEO
6:48 has actually changed. So Yoken Zites
6:51 left. They've now got Arty Stars. Is it
6:54 the um former Pizza Hut bloke? And so
6:56 maybe some of these promises are set to
6:58 change. But personally, I'd be really
7:00 keen to see something new in the next
7:03 year or so from Harley. Normally their
7:05 annual announcements are just like a a
7:07 bit of a shuffle around of specs and
7:09 existing features and new colors on
7:11 their, you know, traditional cruisers
7:13 and tours and stuff like that. So
7:15 something genuinely new would be
7:18 definitely of interest. Over at Honda
7:19 though, well, they recently filed a
7:22 patent for a lowcost simple electric
7:24 motorcycle. So expect a commuting kind
7:26 of electric bike from them at some
7:28 point. But I think more of us can
7:31 probably get more excited about their V3
7:33 concept. Now, it's an unusual
7:34 configuration, the two cylinders at the
7:37 front, the one at the back. It's also
7:39 backed up by an eco compressor up top as
7:41 well, so you've got forced induction.
7:44 and it's 900cc in capacity, but with
7:46 that e-co compressor, they actually say
7:49 it gives you more like 1,200 levels of
7:51 performance. On top of that, with just a
7:52 single cylinder at the back, it's very
7:54 slim in the waist, and so they say it
7:56 makes for great ergonomics, and they're
7:58 fairly adamant that they're going to be
8:00 putting it into production. We saw the
8:02 um concept bike at IKMA in November,
8:04 just gone, and I think I'm not the only
8:07 one who's keenly waiting for the next
8:09 step in this particular project. Then
8:11 also for Honda, we had the recent
8:14 announcement for China of their new
8:16 super 4 models. So there's a naked,
8:18 there's a sports bike as well. And if
8:21 you like small capacity revline fours,
8:23 then these two could really hit the
8:26 mark. Both are expected to be rolled out
8:27 globally at some point because they've
8:30 copyrighted the names in many markets
8:32 across the globe. And so yeah, there's
8:34 nothing so far, but another one to watch
8:36 out for in the coming few months. Now,
8:38 not much for Husvana at the moment. It's
8:41 been a hard couple of years for KTM, so
8:43 I'd expect it to be a quiet one for the
8:45 smaller brands in their group. But that
8:47 brings us swiftly on to Indian, who
8:50 recently moved over to a new owner, this
8:53 private equity group called Carolwood, I
8:55 believe, uh, after being sold off by
8:57 Polaris. That gave the new owners a bit
9:00 of a chance to have a reset. They did a
9:02 call, a press briefing last week in
9:04 which they were going to announce their
9:06 new strategy. And if you're expecting
9:08 anything particularly exciting or new
9:10 from them, then you might have come away
9:13 from that sorely disappointed. He says
9:14 they're going to double down on the
9:16 cruisers, the baggers, the tours as
9:18 well. And the only real thing that they
9:21 did mention that was new is maybe that
9:24 they'll be bringing out a trike. So I
9:25 guess there's that to look forward to if
9:26 that's your sort of thing. I've got
9:28 nothing against trikes, but it's not the
9:30 most exciting thing they could have
9:32 announced. And so we'll move on to
9:35 Kawasaki who are expected to follow upon
9:37 their hybrid motorcycles with
9:40 potentially a new hybrid scooter. Now
9:42 the hybrids that they did introduce the
9:45 Z Naked and the um Ninja sports bike
9:47 version I believe have been really quite
9:50 unpopular or at least you know if the
9:52 prices in dealers are anything to go by.
9:54 Uh where you'll frequently see them
9:56 pretty much at half price even though
9:58 they're brand new. Maybe though, you
10:01 know, hybrid tech, being able to use the
10:03 electric motor at lower speeds and then
10:05 uh the petrol engine when things speed
10:08 up a bit is better suited to commuting
10:10 where you do have a lot of slower town
10:12 work, but maybe a bit of a road just to
10:14 get home. And so potentially in that
10:16 case, you know, a new hybrid maxi
10:19 scooter actually might be more of a
10:21 success. KTM though are said to be
10:24 working on a new 490 parallel twin in
10:26 partnership with Bajage who currently
10:29 make all of their bikes in India from
10:32 390 and below. Now the 390s use a single
10:34 cylinder but recently more of the
10:36 competition in this sort of segment of
10:39 started to use twins like the BMW 450,
10:42 the Arilia 457 and the CF Moto 450 as
10:45 well. So yeah, a move up to a twin might
10:47 be a smart move for KTM in order to sort
10:50 of match them. And already spotted out
10:53 testing, there's been an RC 490 sports
10:55 bike. So that could be the first of
10:57 many. And I'd expect if they do roll it
10:59 out that a 490 Juke Naked would follow
11:02 and potentially the more off-road bikes
11:05 like the 390 Adventure and 390 Enduro.
11:06 You never know, you might get a twin of
11:08 those as well. On top of that, we
11:10 recently shared some spy shots as well
11:13 of a tweaked 790 Juke. new styling with
11:16 the more modern angular headlight that
11:19 you'll see in the rest of the KTM family
11:21 and also uh new brakes as well from
11:24 their in-house brand WP. Formerly WP
11:27 have been solely focused on suspension.
11:29 Uh but they've just moved into braking
11:31 and so we'll probably see more and more
11:33 WP branded brakes over the next few
11:37 months on new KTM models. Now, it's some
11:38 time ago that we first saw these spy
11:41 shots of a retro version of Arillia's
11:44 457 and with them being part of the same
11:46 Pio group and also with some of the
11:48 styling cues like the tank shape. Well,
11:50 it was very much thought to be a baby
11:53 moto gutsy branded retro, but for some
11:55 reason it never materialized. I mean,
11:57 this is like 2 3 years back that we
11:59 first saw this. Uh, so maybe they've
12:01 canned it. Maybe the modern engine and
12:03 chassis didn't quite come together with
12:06 the more typically traditional Mozy
12:08 looks. Or maybe it's the fact that Moto
12:10 Gutsy are currently going through a big
12:13 renovation of their factory. I mean, the
12:16 457s are built in India, but perhaps
12:18 there's some disruption to development
12:20 and that sort of thing, and so I guess
12:22 there's a small chance that this bike
12:24 might still be in the works. The factory
12:26 is set to reopen in September this year
12:28 though and it'll include a new visitor
12:30 experience so you can tour the
12:32 production line and so I might just have
12:34 to make a case for a trip out to Italy
12:37 to check that out in the name of um
12:40 serious journalism. Now, another one of
12:42 my favorite developments from Ikema, I
12:43 think, was MV Augusta's new engine,
12:46 which is a a very unusual configuration
12:49 in the form of a fivecylinder with three
12:52 cylinders up front in the front bank and
12:54 then two at the rear. They say they
12:57 could make versions down at 850 for more
12:58 of a middle weight all the way up to
13:01 1150 for like a proper performance
13:04 model. And they reckon in that 1150
13:07 guys, it will be capable of making more
13:11 than 240 horsepower. Uh so it really
13:13 could be a force to be reckoned with.
13:15 They do say as well it is a real project
13:18 with a full intention to uh take it to
13:19 production. And so while I probably
13:21 wouldn't expect a finished bike anytime
13:23 this year, perhaps we'll see the next
13:25 version or you know a version of the
13:28 engine in a concept bike. Then the other
13:30 thing to look out for is maybe a more
13:32 affordable version of their new 950
13:35 Brutali which was released at Ikema in
13:37 its seroro version which is what they
13:39 always do when they're they've got a new
13:41 platform. They give it like the full
13:43 works in terms of the finish and it's
13:45 the most expensive seroro to kind of
13:48 introduce this new bike. But I reckon
13:50 this one if it was more affordable could
13:52 be a really good road bike. The 950 is a
13:54 little more torquy than previous
13:56 Brutalis. Uh they've stretched out the
13:57 chassis as well for a bit more
13:59 stability. They've sat up the riding
14:01 position so it isn't so aggressive and
14:03 yet it still retains probably a bit of
14:06 that MV Augusta excitement. And it
14:10 definitely does retain the um MV Augusta
14:12 daring, let's say in the looks. So yeah,
14:15 hoping a nonerior version is announced
14:16 at some point this year. That that's
14:18 normally the case with things like the
14:21 Super Veoce for example. But two bikes
14:22 that I think are pretty much nailed on
14:26 for IKEA 2026 would be from Royal
14:28 Enfield, who we've known have been
14:30 working on, a larger 750 version of
14:33 their current 650 twin. It's expected to
14:36 be first put to use in a Continental GT
14:39 Cafe racer and also a bigger 750
14:41 Himalayan. And both of them have been
14:43 shown off as prototypes at various
14:45 points over the past 6 months. So yeah,
14:47 I I'll be very surprised if we don't see
14:50 these in the next 6 months or so. Now,
14:53 Suzuki were recently interviewed by um
14:56 MCN at Ikema and one of the interesting
14:58 things that they said was that they've
15:00 seen the success of these small to
15:03 midcapacity bikes, the 350s, the 400s,
15:05 450s and stuff like that. And so, at
15:06 some point, you know, they're keen to
15:08 get involved in the action. Now, one of
15:10 the possibilities that we've covered on
15:13 a previous news show is a retro sort of
15:14 scrambler bike, but based upon their
15:17 current 400 single uh that they use in
15:21 their DRZ. So, the SM super motor and
15:24 also the S sort of dual sport. Thing is
15:26 though, these were mocked up by Wee Bike
15:29 Japan and I'm not really sure where they
15:31 got their information from. It wasn't
15:33 quite clear to me from the article. They
15:36 could just be speculative Photoshop jobs
15:38 perhaps. You know, a bit of a long shot
15:39 that they'll come out looking anything
15:42 like these. Um, but all the same, that
15:45 intention to make a small Suzuki is
15:47 legit because of that interview. So
15:50 maybe we will see a road bike on that
15:52 single cylinder platform at some point
15:55 fairly soon. Last week I posted some new
15:57 spy shots of an updated Triumph Speed
15:59 Twin 1200 and it it's significant this
16:01 update. There are some really quite big
16:03 changes like the fact that it doesn't
16:05 have a steel cradle frame. The frame
16:08 kind of ends uh around the top of the
16:10 engine and uses the engine as a stress
16:12 member, but then also no twin shocks. So
16:15 it appears as though it uses a monoshock
16:17 instead. Now, Triumph seemed determined
16:20 to make the Speed Twin more and more
16:22 performant, but it does come a little
16:24 bit at the cost of the looks. It's
16:26 become less and less of a Bonavville
16:28 style bike, and so it certainly be
16:30 interesting to see if they do follow
16:32 through with this one as to whether it
16:34 pays off with a better handling bike
16:36 that can carry a little bit less weight,
16:38 too. On top of that though, do expect
16:40 updates at some point for both the Tiger
16:44 900 lineup and the 1200 lineup with both
16:46 of them spied with updates including you
16:48 know sharper visuals uh but also a
16:50 front-facing radar. So if you've ever
16:53 fancied a Tiger but absolutely can't
16:55 live without active cruise control for
16:57 example uh then your luck at some point
17:00 in the next few months uh might be about
17:02 to change. Rounding off though, we've
17:04 got Yamaha who also gave some clues to
17:07 MCN at IKEMA with their European
17:10 president saying that the R1 could at
17:12 some point make a comeback. Now, it was
17:14 recently discontinued in um Europe and
17:16 the UK owing to stricter emissions
17:18 regulations. There just isn't enough
17:20 demand in the sports bike market to make
17:23 it worthwhile updating. But he does say
17:25 in this piece that um you know the
17:27 sports bike market has started to
17:29 improve a bit and he believes that's
17:31 been driven by the success of the middle
17:33 weights. So for them it'll be like the R
17:36 seven and the new R9. What they do say
17:38 though is that it couldn't just be a
17:40 revived version of the current R1 with
17:42 the latest emissions regs, you know,
17:44 factored in. It would have to be some
17:46 sort of meaningful improvement in terms
17:48 of performance. And so given that
17:51 they've just started running a a V4
17:53 engine in Moto GP to make themselves
17:55 more competitive, it does make you
17:56 wonder whether they've got plans to
17:58 bring that to the road. Now, in the same
18:00 interview, they also said that a bigger
18:02 version of their 108 adventure bike
18:04 could also be on the cards using their
18:08 CP3 900cc inline triple that you
18:10 currently find in like the M09 and also
18:13 the Tracer 9 Sports Tourer. He said,
18:14 "Enginegineers are working on this
18:17 currently, and when we do go there, uh,
18:18 we don't want to compromise. If we go
18:20 with the CP3 engine one day for the
18:23 Tennere, it has to have 18 and 21in
18:26 wheels. It has to be a real off-road
18:28 machine." So, the question is now, can
18:30 we make something with the CP3 platform
18:33 that doesn't damage the DNA of that
18:35 Tenner name? And you've got to say, it's
18:37 got a great reputation as an off-roader.
18:39 And so, uh, it's quite understandable
18:41 that they wouldn't want to compromise on
18:42 that. On top of that, they've also been
18:45 working on the hybrid space with a
18:48 concept of a modified M09 that
18:50 accommodates, say, an electric motor and
18:52 a battery as well as that CP3 triple.
18:54 And like I say, it didn't go
18:57 particularly well for Kawasaki, but
19:00 maybe Yamaha can do something a little
19:01 different with it. So, I have to wait
