0:11 [Applause]
0:15 this is all wrong I shouldn't be up here
0:19 I should be back in school on the other
0:23 side of the ocean yet you all come to us
0:29 young people for hope how dare you you
0:32 have stolen my dreams in my childhood
0:36 with your empty words yet I'm one of the
0:40 lucky ones people are suffering people
0:42 are dying
0:46 entire ecosystems are collapsing we are
0:49 in the beginning of a mass extinction
0:52 and all you can talk about is money and
0:55 fairytales of eternal economic growth
0:57 how dare you [Applause]
1:08 for more than 30 years the science has
1:12 been crystal-clear how dare you continue
1:16 to look away and come here saying that
1:18 you are doing enough when the politics
1:21 and solutions needed are still nowhere
1:26 in sight you say you hear us and that
1:30 you understand the urgency but no matter
1:33 how sad and angry I am I do not want to
1:36 believe that because if you really
1:39 understood the situation and still kept
1:42 on failing to act then you would be evil
1:52 and that I refuse to believe the popular
1:55 idea of cutting our emissions in half in
1:59 ten years only gives us a 50% chance of
2:02 staying below 1.5 degrees and the risk
2:04 of setting of irreversible chain
2:09 reactions beyond human control 50% may
2:12 be acceptable to you but those numbers
2:16 do not include tipping points most
2:18 feedback loops additional warming hidden
2:21 by toxic air pollution or the aspects of
2:24 equity and climate justice they also
2:27 rely on my generation sucking hundreds
2:31 of billions of tons of your co2 out of
2:33 the air with technologies that barely
2:39 exist so a 50% risk is simply not
2:41 acceptable to us we who have to live
2:46 with the consequences to have a 67
2:49 percent chance of staying below a 1.5
2:52 degrees of global temperature rise the
2:54 best odds given by the IPCC the world
2:59 had 420 gigatons of co2 left to emit
3:04 back on January 1st 2018 today that
3:07 figure is already down to less than 350
3:11 gigatons how dare you pretend that this
3:13 can be sold with just business as usual
3:16 and some technical solutions
3:20 with today's emissions levels that
3:23 remaining co2 budgets will be entirely
3:26 gone within less than eight and a half
3:32 years there will not be any solutions or
3:34 plans presented in line with these
3:37 figures here today because these numbers
3:40 are too uncomfortable and you are still
3:44 not mature enough to tell it like it is
3:47 you are failing us but the young people
3:51 are starting to understand your betrayal
3:54 the eyes of all future generations are
3:58 upon you and if you choose to fail us I
4:12 we will not let you get away with this
4:15 right here right now is where we draw
4:19 the line the world is waking up and
4:22 change is coming whether you like it or
4:32 you [Applause]
