0:01 hello friends
0:03 continuing our series on group
0:05 discussion and debates especially when
0:08 given a contemporary and controversial topic
0:09 topic
0:12 we will today give you the topic of
0:16 is pakistan a best friend or a worst enemy
0:17 enemy
0:19 now when given such a topic always
0:21 remember that during the two to three
0:23 minutes which are given to prepare you
0:24 must use the technique of gobar
0:27 chocolate to write down all the relevant
0:29 points only in big latter capital
0:32 letters in a big format so that later on
0:33 during the gd or the debate you could
0:35 refer to it now
0:37 go by chuckling means good points bad
0:40 points changes action and learning so
0:42 during the three minutes you want to
0:44 quickly think of good points now what
0:46 are the good points in favor of pakistan history
0:48 history then
0:49 then culture
0:50 culture
0:53 then geographical synergies then
0:57 economic synergies and a chance for
0:59 peace so you want to quickly write down
1:01 all of these points and then think of
1:05 converting sentences from these points
1:07 now similarly for bad points you want to
1:09 think uh
1:13 nefarious designs to embarrass india
1:16 at global forums like united nations
1:18 cross-border terrorism
1:23 state sponsored activities against india
1:26 then a situation of generally opposing
1:29 india at most global forums
1:32 and number five instigating
1:34 controversial sentiments within india so
1:36 again you have listed a few points for
1:39 which you could speak against pakistan
1:42 or in favor of pakistan and then changes
1:45 in changes you may want to talk about a future
1:46 future
1:48 forward-looking action as to what could
1:51 be done to make things better so you may
1:52 want to talk about
1:56 a settlement of kashmir issue a
1:59 settlement of border dispute an
2:01 atmosphere of trust
2:03 some confidence building measures an
2:05 open dialogue
2:07 for which in the end you may want to
2:08 talk about actions
2:10 for example
2:12 stop interfering in india's internal
2:16 affairs stop cross-border terrorism and
2:18 an open attitude of both side
2:19 leaderships to talk
2:22 so this is a brief outlook and now let
2:24 us do a small simulation as always of a
2:27 real life debate or a group discussion
2:29 so if you are an initiator how do you start
2:31 start
2:34 my respected friends i welcome you all
2:36 to this group discussion on the topic is
2:38 pakistan india's best friend or worst
2:41 enemy now this is an extremely pertinent
2:43 topic in today's socio-economic
2:46 political context as the value of
2:48 relationships with neighbors has been
2:51 given great prominence and the general
2:53 geopolitical situation the globe of the
2:56 russian attack on ukraine is making it
2:57 very important for nations to monitor
3:00 their relationships very carefully now i
3:02 am sure all my friends would have very
3:05 passionate views however since time is
3:07 limited may i propose that we could
3:10 discuss two or three good points then
3:12 two or three bad points and finally talk
3:14 about things we could change
3:16 so may i invite one of my friends to
3:18 start the views by talking about some
3:21 good points related to pakistan
3:22 this is how
3:25 an initiator introduces the topic to all
3:26 the members
3:29 now strong supporter somebody who wants
3:32 to talk in favor of pakistan would go as
3:34 follows my friends i want to say five
3:36 points that why pakistan is our best
3:39 friend number one history at one stage
3:41 both the countries were same so history
3:43 demands that we should again have a
3:44 situation where we are at least
3:46 peacefully coexisting number two
3:49 geography the two nations share a very
3:51 long border over three thousand
3:53 kilometers and it's extremely vital that
3:55 if the two live peacefully then the
3:58 border could be used synergistically for
4:00 cross-border trade and peaceful and
4:02 happy living of people in the border
4:05 areas number three culture
4:06 at the end of the day
4:08 lot of culture between pakistan and
4:10 india is common and the common man the
4:12 ordinary citizen on both sides would
4:14 always want happy relationships where we
4:16 could enjoy their place they could enjoy
4:18 our movies and above all the game of
4:21 cricket then i would also like to talk
4:24 about the economic synergy since india
4:26 and pakistan are so closely
4:28 geopolitically located it's a
4:31 opportunity for both the nations whereby
4:33 goods produced at one country could be
4:35 consumed at very low cost in the other
4:37 country at vice versa an effective rail
4:40 transport connectivity or sea route
4:42 connectivity between mumbai and karachi
4:44 could really work miracles for both the countries
4:44 countries
4:47 and finally the most important reason
4:49 why we should have friendship with
4:51 pakistan is peace
4:53 at the end of the day any kind of
4:55 activity which is related to violence or
4:58 military or terrorism is going to hurt
5:00 and damage both the nations so peace is
5:03 something which has no substitute and
5:05 therefore i sincerely believe we should
5:06 make efforts to make great peace with pakistan
5:08 pakistan
5:11 this was the person who was supporting
5:13 and propagating for good relationship
5:15 with pakistan now let's say there is
5:17 another member who's opposing
5:19 so how does a strong opposer enter my
5:21 worthy colleague you have made some good
5:22 points and i respect your thought
5:25 process however while in rome you have
5:27 to do as romans do and therefore with
5:30 pakistan it's the case of once bitten
5:32 twice shy or may i say five times bitten
5:35 so maybe 500 times shy time and again
5:37 india has offered various kind of peace
5:39 initiatives but only to be most
5:41 regrettably backstabbed there are five
5:43 reasons i think pakistan is our worst
5:45 enemy number one
5:47 its ulterior motives of trying to split
5:50 india in the past the pakistan premier
5:52 said they want to give india a death by
5:55 thousand cuts even today this agenda of
5:58 hatred drives the country and therefore
5:59 we have to be very cautious
6:02 number two cross-border terrorism
6:05 the entire world knows that pakistan is
6:07 having terrorist camps in pok and
6:09 various other regions which then
6:12 instigate various problems within india
6:15 how can we condone the loss of innocent
6:17 lives and that of our military brethren
6:20 number three embarrassment at various
6:22 global forums especially united nations
6:25 time and again pakistan has taken
6:26 various initiatives which are pretty
6:29 hideous and with the singular motive of
6:31 trying to just let india down
6:33 then number four
6:35 encroachment on india's moderation so
6:38 till the issue of kashmir where pakistan
6:40 has absorbed and taken occupation of our
6:42 pok is settled how can we expect any
6:45 kind of peaceful resolution and number
6:49 five pakistan's internal order the very
6:51 complicated political orientation where
6:53 some power is lying with the political
6:55 government but the rest with the army
6:57 leased a situation where pakistan is a
6:59 natural ally of countries which aren't
7:02 very close to india whether it's china
7:05 north korea india really has to be
7:06 extremely cautious when it takes the
7:09 next step towards pakistan this
7:10 this
7:12 was the voice of the opposer
7:15 but then a harmonizer could come and he
7:18 or she could focus on the changes
7:20 what must change and then probably link
7:22 them with action
7:24 so here's the harmonizer my worthy
7:26 colleagues both of you have made very
7:28 good points and i sincerely believe that
7:30 there is a deep amount of substance in
7:32 this very paradoxical conundrum which
7:34 exists between india and pakistan and if
7:37 i were to submit my thoughts the reality
7:38 of today
7:40 is that there is very weak trust there
7:43 is serious mistrust and in fact the
7:45 strong perception that both countries are
7:46 are
7:48 aiming for ill will for each other but
7:50 the reality is also that by economic
7:53 logic geopolitical logic it would be
7:54 advisable for the two nations to be
7:57 friendly to each other therefore may i
8:00 propose three important changes number
8:03 one pakistan must adopt a policy of zero
8:06 interference in india's issues
8:09 number two pakistani army and the extra
8:10 straight elements must also make a
8:13 resolve to dismantle the terrorist camps
8:15 and number three pakistan should engage
8:17 in bilateral dialogue with india and not
8:20 try to do its these small shenanigans to
8:21 embarrass india or create tricky
8:23 situations at united nations i think if
8:25 these three things happen the two
8:26 nations could move forward for a
8:29 prosperous and a peaceful future so
8:31 these are my thoughts my friends and
8:32 then finally
8:35 someone could talk about action to be done
8:36 done
8:38 and for action we could go as follows my
8:40 dear friends so i think may i propose
8:42 that there are three things which could
8:44 be done number one some sort of
8:46 committee could be formed between
8:48 political leaders from both sides which
8:49 could start doing some confidence
8:51 building measures by which the talks
8:52 could resume
8:54 number two the army at both the sides
8:56 could enter into a truce whereby at
8:58 least the various frictions which are
9:01 happening or wars could be stopped and
9:03 number three both the nations should
9:05 make a list of contentious agenda and
9:08 start the dialogue so that they can also
9:11 have probability to discuss trade
9:13 economics and various alliance facets
9:15 with these i think the two nations could
9:17 move forward so
9:18 so
9:20 now my dear friends comes the last topic
9:22 of summarizing when gd is about to end
9:24 now if you haven't spoken till now then
9:26 you enter as a summarizer
9:28 and as a summarizer please remember you
9:31 are not supposed to give your view but
9:32 you have to give a factual narrative of
9:35 what transpired so a summarizer could go
9:37 as follows
9:38 my worthy colleagues please allow me to
9:41 summarize we have had a very enchanting
9:43 and lively group discussion today and
9:45 different candidates came up with
9:47 different views unfortunately there was
9:49 no consensus because group was divided
9:51 some of us felt that pakistan is a great
9:54 friend but some felt that it's a very
9:56 dangerous enemy in general those who
9:58 said that pakistan is a friend and we
10:00 should work on friendship even more
10:03 spoke about history culture
10:05 geographic and economic synergies and
10:07 the value of peace on the other hand
10:10 those who were opposing spoke strongly
10:13 about terrorism issue the distrust on
10:15 army the complicated pakistan domestic
10:18 situation and an ulterior motive to
10:20 embarrass indian global forums and the
10:22 most important issue of a divisive legacy
10:24 legacy
10:26 however all in all most members felt
10:29 that going forward we could work on
10:31 making better relationships by taking
10:33 three steps number one making a
10:35 confidence building measure through a
10:37 political dialogue starting some form of
10:39 economic dialogue and
10:42 army related truce whereby any kind of
10:44 crawler which is happening on the border
10:46 region could be stopped so with those
10:48 words we summarize this group discussion
10:50 thank you
10:52 so my dear viewers
10:55 please follow the go ba chocolate
10:57 technique to quickly make up points
10:59 convert points to lines and lines to
11:01 paragraph and you'll surely be
