0:12 salutations and greetings ego hackers my
0:14 name is Ben and welcome to today's video
0:16 where we'll be discussing the cognitive
0:18 function known as TI or introverted
0:21 thinking TI is an internal logical
0:23 processing cognitive function that is
0:26 used by8 of the 16 types the four fjs
0:30 the ENFJ ESFJ infj and isfj and the four
0:35 TPS the entp estp inp and istp are all
0:38 the ti users a user of a cognitive
0:41 function whether it be an NE Fe or TI
0:43 user simply means that they use that
0:45 cognitive function within the top four
0:47 slots of their mind TI users are all
0:50 about what they think whereas te
0:51 extroverted thinking is aware of what
0:53 other people think and believe
0:56 introverted thinking is aware of what I
0:59 think and what I believe TI is also a
1:00 source of personal
1:03 Integrity TI users are aware of logical
1:05 inconsistencies when it comes to other
1:07 people's actions and intentions and
1:09 mature TI users are aware of their own
1:12 inconsistencies and hypocrisies a
1:13 sharpen effective introverted thinker
1:16 then wields a double-edged sword one
1:18 side for them and the other for everyone
1:22 else so how does TI work TI breaks apart
1:24 bits of information into smaller parts
1:26 and processes them individually through
1:29 an if then logical sequence think of TI
1:31 as a food processor that shreds the
1:33 incoming input into smaller bite-sized
1:36 pieces if this is true then that is true
1:38 is the most basic and foundational
1:40 process that propels TI forward each
1:42 piece of a TI user's logic Builds on top
1:44 of each other like pieces of Legos being
1:46 assembled into a complete structure
1:49 eventually as the ti user processes
1:50 through enough information they can
1:52 rebuild the individual shredded pieces
1:56 back into a logical whole structure TI
1:59 users need an audience even if that
2:02 audience is themselves elves TI users
2:05 want and at times need to be listened to
2:07 because TI is an introverted Source
2:09 function it needs to express itself just
2:11 like a hot spring needs to release water
2:14 as TI users think out loud preferably
2:16 with an audience though sometimes just
2:18 speaking aloud will do the trick the ti
2:19 user begins to have a better grasp on
2:22 what they actually think and what The
2:24 Logical implication of their new found
2:26 thoughts are ti is like a minor using a
2:28 pick to slash and cut through the dirt
2:31 looking for the diamonds the rough
2:32 sometimes TI won't be able to fully
2:34 articulate a stance until it finds one
2:36 of the Nuggets of insight it's searching
2:40 for TI users also seek out te users who
2:41 provide the complimentary input for
2:44 their TI to sort through in process
2:46 think of a te user as providing the plot
2:48 of land for the ti user to dig through
2:49 and find the Nuggets of value within the
2:51 data or research that the te user
2:53 provides TI users don't mind if you
2:55 disagree with them in fact disagreeing
2:57 with the ti user in the right way can
3:00 get them to like you even more the key
3:01 is to First listen and make sure you
3:04 fully understand the ti user
3:06 perspective they love it when you ask
3:08 them questions to clarify their thoughts
3:09 if you disagree with the ti user you
3:11 will have a lot more success if you ask
3:14 questions than make blanket statements
3:15 so instead of saying I think you're
3:18 wrong or I disagree with that consider
3:19 framing your disagreement in the form of
3:22 questions so say have you thought about
3:24 this or have you consider this piece of
3:26 information that's a much more effective
3:28 way to get a TI user to change their
3:30 mind than just saying no don't agree
3:32 with that so what is the path of growth
3:35 for a TI user a TI user's thinking is
3:37 only as good as the quality of input the
3:40 ti user receives so like if a food
3:43 processor only gets rotten expired food
3:45 to process then the processed material
3:48 will only be rotten and expired TI users
3:50 need to consistently go out of their way
3:52 to find new highquality input to
3:54 challenge their thinking and keep the
3:57 tools of their logical processing sharp
3:58 this means reading new books and
4:00 listening to new lectures and podcasts
4:02 especially about topics in which the ti
4:05 user is either ignorant or they disagree
4:07 with if you want to learn more about how
4:09 to develop your TI and make your ti as
4:11 sharp as possible head over to the
4:13 members portal at CS joseph. lifee
4:15 scroll down to the profiles for the
4:17 types they're labeled discover the infj
4:20 psyche or discover the INTP psyche there
4:22 is an in-depth commentary and exclusive
4:25 lecture on all the types the danger for
4:27 TI users is when they assume that every
4:29 piece of input every premise and every
4:32 slice of land they are given to mine are
4:34 true a TI user's job is to verify the
4:36 premises that a belief system is built
4:38 on and unless they are well practiced in
4:40 processing new input they are likely to
4:43 fall into the Trap of assumption the
4:44 ideologies that have toppled over can be
4:47 credited in large part to the ti users
4:48 who found the weakness in the
4:51 foundational structure of a belief TI and
4:51 and
4:54 acceptance looking at TI as an isolated
4:55 function we notice it as a blunt
4:58 instrument but through cognitive access
5:00 TI is linked to extroverted feeling Fe
5:03 so every TI user is also an Fe user just
5:07 as every te user is also an fi user TI
5:09 users are looking for acceptance with
5:11 the connected Fe function they're
5:12 naturally attuned to how other people
5:15 feel what other people value and often
5:17 have a few ideas on how to improve
5:20 someone's life TI users can be afraid of
5:21 sharing their true thoughts as they
5:23 believe their thinking will be received
5:25 as harsh and they will not be accepted
5:26 or appreciated for their
5:28 contributions the best thing you can do
5:31 for a TI use is encourage them to always
5:33 be fully honest with you holding nothing
5:36 back though TI users often appear as
5:38 blunt instruments they're compassionate
5:39 and are usually saying what they think
5:42 because they think it's helpful TI users
5:45 can overstep which is usually when they
5:47 assume instead of verifying which can be
5:49 a source of Pride and close-mindedness
5:51 for them call them out for this if it's
5:55 a TI inferior so an ENFJ or an ESFJ be
5:57 extra careful because they are extra
5:59 sensitive to being labeled as dumb or
6:01 incompetent thinkers but most of them
6:03 would rather be correct and criticized
6:06 than be enabled or be wrong the trick
6:08 for all TI users though is to be
6:11 consistently honest with what they think
6:12 though some will not accept them because
6:14 of their bluntness the ones who do
6:15 accept them are much more likely to be
6:19 accepting of them for life if the ti
6:20 user is honest in the long run they
6:22 don't have to be nearly as worried about
6:24 being accepted when they do find
6:25 acceptance it'll be because of who they
6:28 are not of who they're pretending to be
6:30 thank you for watching we'll see you in
6:31 the next video where we'll discuss
6:33 extroverted feeling in [Music]
