0:02 hi everyone rainy bastter rash here and
0:05 today I'm going to teach you my Perfect
0:07 Memory hack in this hack I'm going to
0:10 show you how to memorize in this one up
0:13 to 24 items in any order in just minutes
0:16 now this hack can be used to memorize an
0:19 awful lot more than 24 in fact I once
0:22 use it to help a high school student to
0:25 memorize 200 definitions on government
0:27 and by the time we finished it took me
0:29 about 2 hours to go through the entire
0:32 exercise for 200 items but by the time
0:36 we finished she was able to recall all
0:40 200 items in order forwards backwards
0:42 and even sporadically if I said what was
0:45 number 57 she'd tell me what was number
0:48 123 she'd be able to tell me so I mean
0:50 it's a really amazing technique so I'd
0:52 like you to try it with me right now
0:54 we're going to memorize just 10 items at
0:56 random because we'll limit it for time
0:58 and I want to show you how it works how
1:00 easy it will work for even you
1:02 and you'll be able to know these
1:05 afterwards forwards and backwards now
1:07 just so you know if you want to remember
1:09 a lot more if you want to memorize a lot
1:11 more items there are other techniques
1:12 you can use because we're going to be
1:14 using the alphabet which I'm going to
1:17 use the first 10 letters so a to J but
1:19 if you use all 24 letters again you have
1:23 24 items or there's other ways of
1:25 getting these standard points that's
1:26 what I'm using the alphabet for so you
1:29 can get as many items as you like now
1:31 the reason I'm using using the alphabet
1:33 it's like creating file folders in your
1:35 head so just like a file cabinet I'm
1:36 going to show you how to file different
1:40 things so this is a great mind tack now
1:42 we use the alphabet because you know
1:44 that uh you can use numbers because you
1:45 know the numbers there are things that
1:47 are always there that you'll remember
1:49 without having to think too hard you can
1:51 use items in your house choose five
1:54 items from each room in your house so if
1:56 you have 10 rooms there's 50 file
1:59 folders or 50 reference points you can
2:01 use to to memorize 50 different
2:04 definitions so you can use whatever you
2:06 like before we go too far with this
2:08 exercise I'm going to give you all 10
2:11 items right now and I want you to try to
2:12 memorize them without using this
2:14 exercise at all because I want to have a
2:16 point of reference at the end so I'm
2:19 going to give you all 10 definitions and
2:20 then I'm going to test you on them to
2:22 see how many you can remember without
2:25 using this exercise because you may get
2:28 four or five of them now and if you get
2:29 10 of them later you'll see there's a
2:30 big difference
2:32 or some people only get two of them at
2:34 the beginning and there might remember
2:36 eight at the end so I just want to do
2:39 this as a point of reference so I'm
2:40 going to tell them to you then I'm going
2:41 to have you write it down the second
2:44 time so here we go the first one is Teddy
2:46 Teddy
2:49 Bear number two is
2:54 desk number three
3:30 pencil now I'll get you a piece of paper
3:32 I want you to write them down as I give
3:34 you the numbers I want to see how many
3:37 you remember in what order and I'll give
3:39 you the order of the answers at the end
3:41 so you can compare with both exercises
3:43 okay so what's your first one don't
3:44 worry if you don't get many right
3:45 because this is without doing the
4:18 tougher number six don't worry if you
4:21 don't remember them or if you do that's
4:40 nine and number
4:43 10 so look at what you did if you want
4:48 you could put 40% 20% 100% And but put
4:49 that paper somewhere else for this next
4:51 exercise okay as I'm doing the exercise
4:52 because I don't want you to look at the
4:54 answers so put it upside down be honest
4:57 so you don't see them and get a
4:59 different piece of paper for when I test
5:01 you after the exercise I don't want you
5:03 to look at this and so it doesn't taint
5:06 your answers and when you're all done
5:08 you can compare both just trying to
5:10 memorize it when I gave them to you and
5:13 after the exercise to see how you
5:16 did okay let's move on so here's how
5:19 it's going to work think of a through J
5:21 we're going to start with the letter a
5:22 and what I want you to do is I want you
5:25 to think of an animal that starts with
5:27 the letter A I mean I could tell you one
5:28 but I want you to try to think of it on
5:31 your own if you can't think of it I'll
5:32 give you an idea in a minute but think
5:34 of an animal first one that comes to
5:42 A okay if you haven't thought of one
5:44 alligator I I should have said animal
5:47 amphibian so you know any kind of live
5:49 moving squiggly heartbeating
5:52 thing okay the letter B what's an animal
5:54 that starts with the letter
5:56 B that should be a simple one so I'm not
5:58 going to just tell you mine so that way
6:00 uh if you you do it on your own rather
6:02 than me telling you it's going to come
6:04 to your memory a lot easier later on now
6:06 these aren't the things we're memorizing
6:07 these are just the file folders we're
6:10 setting up think of a animal that starts
6:23 D now when you're doing these with
6:25 someone else you could even write these
6:27 down so you remember as you go back
6:28 through the list you might even want to
6:30 write them down for yourself
6:33 the letter e that's still a pretty easy
6:34 one an animal that starts with the letter
6:36 letter
6:44 F think of an animal that starts with a letter
6:46 letter
6:50 G that's still a pretty easy one
7:01 an animal or a squiggly thing that
7:09 I and one that starts with the letter j
7:11 that might be a little bit more
7:17 J now if you don't get them all right
7:19 away you can listen to this video and
7:21 try it again later on but I'm going to
7:23 move on just so we can you know keep up
7:24 with the
7:26 exercise what I want to do is I want to
7:28 go through them don't look at your PO
7:29 paper if you wrote it down I want to go
7:30 through them I'm going to say the letter
7:32 and you tell me the animal okay what was
7:35 the one you chose for the letter
7:37 A the letter
7:40 B the letter c they should be coming to
7:43 you quicker and
8:00 g what animal we'll started with the letter
8:05 h
8:08 i and
8:10 J now if you got all 10 of those a
8:12 second time you've set up your file
8:14 folders okay you have that in there and
8:16 that's what you need to be able to
8:19 memorize other things now I'm going to
8:20 just use 10 things but these file
8:22 folders you're using right now you can
8:24 memorize 10 things today 10 different
8:26 things tomorrow 10 different things as
8:28 often as you like using the same file
8:31 folders okay so we're going to do it
8:32 just with these now I'm going to come up
8:35 with 10 things at random and as I say
8:37 each thing that I want you to memorize
8:39 what I want you to do is I want you to
8:43 make a sentence or make a picture of the
8:46 animal for that letter and the item I'm
8:49 giving you okay so let me use an example
8:51 not on this list so I don't mess you up
8:54 let's choose the letter S as an example
8:57 so S I would think snake so that's my
9:00 file folder and let's say the word I
9:03 wanted to use was magic
9:06 marker okay so here's here's what we're
9:09 going to do magic marker so how do I I
9:11 memorize the word magic marker using the
9:14 letter S I could say something
9:18 like a snake was slithering on my desk
9:20 he came right beside my magic marker and
9:23 he looked at it he looked at it and said
9:26 hey why are you so stiff loosen up a bit
9:28 okay so it's a picture it's kind of
9:29 stupid but you're going to remember
9:32 later on when I say letter s you're
9:33 going to think snake why are you so
9:36 stiff magic marcker you know or you
9:38 might look at it and say so you're a
9:41 magical snake aren't you magic marcker
9:44 you see what I mean so find something
9:47 with the item that's kind of funny and
9:48 that's what we're going to do so that's
9:50 pretty simple let's go ahead and start
9:52 out so the letter
9:55 A it's going to be teddy bear so
9:57 whatever the animal was that started
10:00 with an a think of something fun funny
10:02 something cartoonish something bigger
10:05 than life having to do with a teddy bear
10:07 what would the letter A relate to a
10:09 teddy bear with or what would he do or
10:11 think of or whatever so I'm going to
10:14 give you a moment a your animal makes
10:18 something funny something cartoonish
10:28 bear letter B think of your animal you
10:30 can just let go of a right now now think
10:32 of your animal for letter
10:34 b and the word you want to remember and
10:36 put in a picture with them or a sentence
10:40 with them is desk a desk like the one
10:49 here great let us see what was your
10:52 animal for letter us see
10:58 microphone put him with a microphone
11:03 make it a funny picture if it's
11:04 something that's really normal or
11:06 ordinary it's going to be hard to
11:08 remember something that's funny or
11:15 remember the letter d what was your your
11:22 D and the word is water bottle okay just
11:25 a simple plastic water bottle that you
11:37 the letter e what animal started with
11:39 the letter
11:42 e and make some kind of picture
11:44 cartoonish strange picture with the word office
11:46 office
11:58 chair the letter F what was the animal
12:01 that SED with
12:05 f orange juice is the word you need to
12:08 make a picture of your animal with orange
12:19 juice the letter
12:31 G and the word is stapler
12:34 stapler I just like saying that word
12:48 that the letter H what animal started
12:49 with an
12:52 h and you need to put it in a sentence
12:54 with trash
12:56 can you could tell these are all things
13:11 random number nine or letter I what
13:14 animal started with an
13:36 pencil use the word pencil with the
13:47 j great so now you filed all these
13:50 different random items with your 10 file
13:51 folders in your mind let's see how well
13:55 it worked okay what I want to do is I
13:57 would like you to get a piece of paper
13:57 put it
14:00 someplace and and I want you to write
14:02 down as I give you the letters write
14:04 down the item that I told you you don't
14:05 have to worry about the animal just
14:06 write down the
14:10 item the random item that you memorize
14:12 and we're going to see how many you got
14:16 ready let's start with
14:18 a what was the thing that I told you to
14:20 memorize with
14:24 a not the animal just the
14:27 item B think of your animal what was it
14:29 doing where'd you put them what's the
14:47 c d what was the animal that started
15:07 how about F andal let started with f
15:27 g h what was the animal and item that
15:34 item
15:38 I the letter I I think of the animal and
15:46 item and
15:57 item now I went fairly quick going
15:59 through these 10 okay and I understand
16:01 that but I'm doing on the video and
16:03 without seeing you I don't know how long
16:05 you're taking to think some of you are
16:06 probably waiting for me to finish some
16:08 of you are like oh that's not enough
16:10 time so when you're doing this on your
16:13 own take the time you need the more
16:14 outlandish the picture the better it's
16:17 in a look so I'm going to put the all
16:19 the different items up and I want you to
16:21 write down how many you got right okay
16:22 so I'm going to put the item up here on
16:25 screen so a through J all the different
16:27 items you count how many you got and I'd
16:30 like you to write in the comments at the
16:33 bottom of this exercise how many you got
16:34 right it'd be interesting to see and
16:37 everybody else would love to see you can
16:39 try it again on your own take your time
16:40 you could pause it there's no reason why
16:42 you can't pause my video between each
16:45 one and try it on your own and see how
16:47 you do I hope you enjoyed the exercise
16:49 I'd like to thank you for watching and
