0:02 welcome back to the channel guys this is
0:04 the native Android app for mesore and
0:07 this is going to ruffle some feathers so
0:09 the main man Liam Cottle has come up
0:11 trumps again with this amazing app for
0:14 mesore it's absolutely awesome guys I
0:15 can't wait to show you I'm just going to
0:17 dive straight in and show you what it's
0:19 all about so this is the meshort Android
0:20 app then guys and I've got it paired up
0:22 with a senc cap
0:24 2100e um device here which is really
0:26 awesome credit card size fits in your
0:28 pocket pretty good internal antenna
0:30 longlasting battery and a waterproof
0:32 case really awesome bit of Kit and it
0:34 works really well with mesh cor so the
0:36 app itself then is connected to this
0:39 node by Bluetooth and you can see here
0:40 I'm already connected but I'll show you
0:42 how you would actually connect it so you
0:44 just hit the connect button and
0:46 basically you just get a list here of
0:48 all the nodes that you want to obviously
0:50 that you can connect to um in this case
0:51 we've just got one here so we'll just
0:54 hit that and it will just connect up to
0:56 this device and then you'll see
0:57 obviously all the contacts that are on
1:00 this device um stored on there so it
1:03 will also um pull in messages and stuff
1:04 that you've kind of received if you're
1:06 not connected to the app and the app
1:08 like you know other systems will um
1:10 reconnect to your device if it sort of
1:12 goes out of range and all that sort of
1:15 stuff so if we go into the channels menu
1:16 you've got a public Channel which is
1:19 kind of usual throwaway chat which just
1:21 anyone can kind of join in on um and
1:23 that is kind of preconfigured to sort of
1:26 what we've been using um key wise for
1:28 the UK but this might change in the
1:31 future the ability to configure these
1:34 channels so that's that and then in the
1:37 contacts menu you've got secure direct
1:39 messaging so this is where mesore really
1:42 shines is its ability to be able to do
1:46 reliable messaging multihop it has paths
1:48 and this is something really exciting
1:49 I'm going to show you in a minute
1:52 because look at this menu here we've got
1:55 a set path menu what does that mean if
1:57 you're not familiar with this normally
1:58 devices will just find their own paths
2:00 to the node to your other nod so if
2:02 you've got a t deck in the area or
2:03 something like that it will know that
2:06 this one's only zero hops away but what
2:07 if this device is further away and it
2:10 needs to rout through another repeater
2:12 to actually reach this one well that is
2:14 basically all done automatically with
2:17 mesh cor but now you have the ability to
2:20 actually set your paths manually which
2:22 is just absolutely mind blown and you
2:25 can also now visually see the paths that
2:27 mesore has chosen automatically for
2:29 example if we go into this one here and
2:31 then go to set path will see the
2:34 repeaters that it's actually used to
2:36 reach that station and that that station
2:38 there in particular is about you know
2:40 seven or eight kilometers away routing
2:43 through three different repeaters I mean
2:45 this is just Next Level stuff guys
2:46 really is so in the contacts list here
2:48 it shows you all the other information
2:51 you need how many hops away um info
2:53 about the node what type it is you know
2:54 you've got repeaters here and you got
2:57 kind of ends nodes as well um and then
3:00 your public keys and the last her number
3:02 of hops you can search nodes in here as
3:04 well so you can find nodes that you want
3:06 to actually contact in that list you can
3:08 hit this button at the top and that will
3:11 advertise your node to the network or
3:14 locally if you hold it down it will do a
3:16 flood advert across the entire mesh not
3:17 entirely recommended to do that all the
3:20 time because you know it takes up
3:22 traffic and air time but you can do that
3:24 should you need to do that you have
3:25 settings in here which is bound to
3:27 expand as time goes on more settings
3:29 will be available and then you can also
3:32 import contacts as well using the sort
3:35 of standard mesore system of importing
3:37 uh contacts and the chat Windows modern
3:39 slick it just works exactly how you'd
3:42 expect a modern chat app to work and you
3:43 get proper delivery reports so you
3:45 always know if the other side has has
3:47 actually received the message and these
3:48 are proper delivery reports they're not
3:50 ones that kind of appear now and again
3:52 you don't really know if the other side
3:54 has got your message you can really rely
3:56 on these reports so to get this out then
3:58 you can head over to the mesore official
3:59 website click on the apps from the men
4:01 menu and you'll see it right at the top
4:03 there um you can also download this
4:04 directly from Liam he'll probably have
4:07 bleeding edge Builds on um his own site
4:08 and I'll leave the links Below in the
4:10 description for that you can use this
4:11 app with all the usual nodes you just
4:13 head to the web flasher and you can
4:15 basically choose your node that you want
4:16 to actually flash all you got to do is
4:18 make sure you install the B Companion
4:20 radio firmware on whatever device you
4:23 want to use like in this case the T1000
4:26 e which is listed down there and then
4:28 you're good to go so the app is Android
4:30 only at the moment the good news is this
4:31 app is going to be used as the basis for
4:34 the iOS version which is in the pipeline
4:35 now for now if you've got an Apple
4:38 device you can actually use the mesh cor
4:40 client with the bluefire app on the
4:42 Apple Play Store so you can actually use
4:44 this on an Apple iPhone right now but
4:46 for me the most exciting thing today is
4:49 to be able to manually Define paths on a
4:51 mesh Network like this it's never been
4:54 seen before it's never been done before
4:56 and this is just going to again change
4:58 the game completely I can't believe Liam
5:00 has kind of pulled this off so quick
5:02 it's absolutely amazing work also we
5:04 can't forget Scott because a lot of the
5:05 underlying code that's made this
5:08 possible has kind of been done um by
5:10 Scott there so absolutely brilliant team
5:11 effort the next video segment is going
5:14 to be a demo all about the pathing so
5:16 yeah enjoy okay let's do some testing
5:19 with this then Super exciting um so this
5:22 node here 100 Acre this is actually one
5:24 that's actually at my parents house
5:28 which is about 7 km away so I think we
5:30 have got a path on this let's do just do
5:34 a test message here and see and we can
5:35 see yeah look it's delivered straight
5:39 away so that's pretty quick um hit go on
5:42 there that's delivered so let's just
5:45 check the path on that so the path on
5:52 that is basically 1 F10 and 6D so that
5:53 is I've been playing around with this so
5:56 I know the path so 1 f is my my home
6:00 repeater 10 is reyen so that's about 10
6:04 kmers away and then 6D is the that's the
6:06 repeater that's in my parents Loft so
6:08 that's all good so we can basically go
6:11 out of there let's see see who else we
6:14 can contact on here as well um that'll
6:17 probably be online I think uh Ren should
6:19 be as well we should be able to get rhen
6:20 because obviously he is part of that
6:23 part of that PA anyway um so I'm going
6:28 go test for YouTube hit go on that and
6:31 that's delivered pretty quick
6:34 um are you there
6:37 mate um let let's see see if that so
6:39 that's obviously gone through as well so
6:42 if we look at his path set path here we
6:45 can see 1 F and 10 so that's my repeater
6:47 and his repeater so we are pretty much
6:51 direct so that's um that's as expected
6:52 so obviously we know Reen's node is on
6:54 at the moment cuz we can contact it he's
6:56 probably busy doing something at the
6:57 moment so that's probably why he's not
6:59 replying um but what I'm going to do
7:00 here is I'm just going to try something
7:03 else so I'm going to reset the path here
7:05 um and then what I'm going to do is I'm
7:08 going to create a new path so let's set
7:11 the path here and we can use this little
7:13 feature here to select the repeater we
7:15 want to use so what I'm going to do here
7:18 is I'm going to try and use my G2
7:21 repeater which is another one um on the
7:23 other side of the house here and see if
7:26 I can get direct to him via that one so
7:29 his repeater is this one this 2114 there
7:31 and then from here we can just hit the
7:34 tick so that's added both repeaters in
7:35 that chain there and we can do a tick on
7:37 that and see so this will be an
7:39 interesting one let me see if we can you
7:41 can see that's just updated to two hops
7:44 there so let's see if I can hit him
7:46 direct um via this other repeater I've
7:48 got um on the other side of the house
7:50 here because I've always wondered this
7:53 can we actually do that um so we'll try
7:56 that direct and it does it goes through
7:58 it goes through straight away from there
8:01 which is really interesting because I
8:02 mean I wouldn't have known that before
8:04 cuz it's just luck of the draw which
8:07 repeater it chooses um but that's quite
8:09 interesting I can actually do a two-way
8:12 com with him just using this this um
8:14 Omni and this Omni directional antenna
8:16 on this repeater is actually a lot lower
8:19 than the yagi that I was using before so
8:20 that's pretty cool so I'm just going to
8:26 put manually set path as a test and just
8:29 fling that out there and that's get
8:31 delivered straight away so I've got two
8:33 ways of reaching um ryen which is going
8:35 to give me another route into another
8:37 area as well so that's good so another
8:40 contact here which I've got um is Colin
8:41 and he's quite tricky you can see these
8:43 Reds here and he's kind of in a quite a
8:46 builtup area let's clear that path and
8:48 basically just try and do an automatic
8:52 path just by doing the usual way path
8:56 test and see if we can get anywhere with
9:00 that so that's failed so now what I'm
9:02 going to try and do cuzz I know I can
9:04 get ryen pretty well so I'm going to
9:06 type in here I'm going to say I want to
9:10 go from my G2
9:15 to uh reyen and then uh Nismo repeater
9:18 so that should that should do it and
9:20 it's done those in order which is good
9:24 so myji to rhen's repeater and then um
9:26 nismo's repeater which is Colin so now
9:30 let's try um let's try this part test
9:33 and just see what happens there see if
9:37 that works took a little while still
9:40 tricky that one went through there let's
9:42 see if we can get any sort of com going
9:44 with him well that's delivering now
9:46 interesting let's wait for him to come
9:48 back and see if he comes back see the
9:49 other thing is is there might be some
9:51 other traffic on the mesh as well which
9:54 does kind of impact things a little bit
9:56 um but where are all these people why is
9:58 everyone not not replying are they on
10:02 lunch or something see if we can entice
10:04 him that's going through pretty much
10:06 every time that okay so it looks like
10:09 Collins's come back to us three times so
10:10 as I say this is a bit of a scratchy on
10:12 this one um I know he's playing around
10:14 with his antennas and stuff at the
10:16 moment as well so this is's obviously
10:17 going to be some some sort of
10:19 interesting stuff happening of course
10:22 you can always go and you know look at
10:25 the path here um maybe it might be
10:29 better if I was to use my uh my yagi so
10:32 I might just select that one instead so
10:35 like if I put one F in there and then
10:37 save that and then we'll see if that
10:39 makes any difference as
10:43 well let's just try that one and see if
10:46 we can get get something to go
10:48 across doesn't look like it's going to
10:52 happen today anyway need that Mill up
10:55 mate Ren just come back to us as well
10:57 you had to head to a meeting so no
11:04 how quick that is that's quicker than
11:06 WhatsApp so pretty cool stuff then it's
11:09 so cool to be able to just even see the
11:11 path that your packet takes I'm sure
11:12 many of you that have been kind of
11:14 frustrated with metastic and and so the
11:17 other things out there um actually
11:20 getting a a clear idea of where your
11:21 packets are going you've got no idea
11:23 you've got no hope in knowing this and
11:25 the trace route feature didn't work
11:26 because it just obviously wants to try
11:28 and include as many noes as possible and
11:30 push out the range which just doesn't
11:32 work in this kind of topology especially
11:34 in the UK where we've got so many kind
11:36 of hills and little crevices and areas
11:38 that are really tough to get to so
11:40 having defined paing really solves this
11:42 because you can just say I want it to go
11:44 from that repeater to that repeater to
11:46 that repeater done simple as that I mean
11:48 why hasn't anyone thought of this before
11:50 so Liam has got some interesting new
11:52 ideas that he's kind of looking at doing
11:54 at the moment which includes mapping so
11:56 you'd be able to like draw a lasso
11:58 around a bunch of um repeaters that you
12:01 want to root through um you know that
12:03 sort of graphical interface of been able
12:05 to just see a bunch of repeaters on a
12:07 map and just kind of draw a line between
12:09 them something like that is going to be
12:11 seriously seriously amazing anyway guys
12:12 I'm going to wrap this one up now lots
12:14 of stuff covered in this video hope
12:16 you've enjoyed it don't forget join the
