With women occupying more than 60% of
seats in parliament and leading various
national institutions, Randa continues
to lead globally in gender inclusion.
This progress is also reflected in how
families plan, grow, and contribute to
national development.
According to government officials,
gender equality in Rwanda is no longer
just about balancing numbers. Promoting
gender equality also implies that
everyone is brings

In all our reports in 2024, women held
almost 64% of seats in the Chamber of
Deputies. In the Senate, women were
again dominant with almost 54% in the
judiciary. Female representation was at
43% with the chief justice being female.
Women held roughly three in 10
ministerial positions in the cabinet.
Gender expert Sarah Montesi says Randa's
gender transformative policies rooted in
constitutional and legal reforms have
enabled equal participation in all
sectors. This empowerment extends to
family level. there is sustainable
development because we have both uh men
and women participating in the economy.
Um which was not the case before. Um and
though we see an increase in population
of course um it is rational. We have uh
good policies on um access to contra contraception.
