1:04 absolutely crazy to me it shows how far
1:06 these Draco supporters go but most of
1:09 all these fan girls and male fans as
1:11 well argue that Draco was this
1:13 misunderstood character who redeemed
1:16 himself and thus he deserves to be
1:19 appreciated they argue that his father
1:22 made him this way by bullying his son or
1:25 he had no other choice and so on I
1:28 actually just got a comment less than 24
1:30 hours before I started making this video
1:32 as they argued that me putting Draco in
1:35 the pretty bad tier in my ranking video
1:37 was an awful choice you put a
1:39 17-year-old who was forced to join the
1:44 Death Eaters what was manipulated by
1:47 Dumbledore and had to witness so many
1:49 people die when he was younger than 18
1:52 was forced to get the Dark Mark H and
1:55 was given a Redemption Arc in the pretty
1:57 bad tier while some of this has a tiny
1:59 bit of basis it is absolutely
2:01 exaggerated to the point where it's
2:03 pretty much wrong clearly this fan fell
2:06 for the Draco hype and Draco Buzz online
2:08 just commenting on the whole argument
2:10 that Draco was a bully because his
2:12 father bullied him if you look at the
2:15 source material this is actually pretty
2:17 far from the truth his father never
2:19 bullied him he actually treated Draco
2:21 like he was the greatest son in the
2:24 world and spoiled him beyond belief
2:26 Draco didn't bully because he was this
2:29 victim that lashed out because of abuse
2:31 he was always raised to be this way by
2:34 his father it was instilled in him which
2:36 made Draco a truly bad person pretty
2:39 much from birth and as for Draco being
2:40 forced to get the dark mark and becoming
2:43 a Death Eater this was always the goal
2:46 for him even as a young kid he Relish in
2:47 the fact that his father was a Death
2:50 Eater and he always wanted to follow in
2:52 lucius's footsteps the only thing I'll
2:54 say is how his dream played out wasn't
2:57 the best situation for him but he still
2:59 got what he had always dreamed of
3:01 looking at all of this it's always
3:03 interesting to me to see who stands up
3:06 for Draco I would argue that most people
3:08 who do either haven't read the books or
3:11 have but got sucked into the fans
3:12 idolization of the character in the
3:15 films or online Draco in the books was
3:18 insufferable doing and saying so many
3:20 awful things and I'd argue that he was
3:22 much worse in the books than he was in
3:25 the movies even in the movies though
3:27 there aren't many redeeming qualities
3:30 these fan theories these Tom Felton fan
3:32 girls and these ridiculous couple
3:34 pairings have deluded the Harry Potter
3:36 Community about what this character
3:39 truly represents I think one of the
3:40 bigger reasons why people think he's a
3:42 good character is because of this one
3:44 clip part of the b-roll in the Deathly
3:47 Hallows in it Draco runs away from
3:49 Voldemort's side and throws a wand to
3:53 Harry after he reveals he's not dead
3:55 a lot of people say that this
3:57 deleted scene I guess you could call it
3:59 is incredible and it's a crime that it
4:02 was cut there are even entire YouTube
4:05 videos arguing this point YouTube videos
4:08 that are part of literal Harry Potter
4:10 channels if Draco would have done this
4:11 and they wouldn't have cut that scene
4:13 Draco would have been fully redeemed as
4:16 a character I totally disagree that this
4:17 was a good deleted scene that should
4:19 have been in the movie I think it goes
4:21 against every single thing that Draco
4:24 maloy's character stands for I'm
4:26 honestly not even sure why they filmed
4:29 this or what the hell David Yates was
4:30 thinking and you might say that I'm
4:33 being a bit harsh but I have somebody
4:36 backing me up and that is JK Rowling the
4:38 author of the series she commented on
4:40 the topic basically saying the same
4:42 thing I've been saying that fans have
4:45 painted this pretty awful character in a
4:47 good light which confused her because
4:49 that's not how she wrote the character
4:51 and this is not some throwaway comment
4:54 that she made in an interview this is
4:57 from one of her official Canon Harry
5:00 Potter articles from Pottermore now
5:02 called wisting world when she was
5:04 breaking down her thoughts on Draco
5:06 maloy's character here's what she had to
5:09 say Draco remains a person of dubious

5:14 and I have often had cause to remark on
5:16 how unnerved I have been by the number
5:18 of girls who fell for this particular
5:20 fictional character Draco has all the
5:23 dark glamour of the anti-hero girls are
5:26 very apt to romanticize such people all
5:28 of this left me in the unbelievable
5:32 position of pouring cold Common Sense on
5:35 Ardent readers Daydreams as I told them
5:37 rather severely that Draco was not
5:40 concealing a heart of gold under all
5:42 that sneering and Prejudice and that no
5:45 he and Harry were not destined to end up
5:48 best friends looking at this JK Rowling
5:50 completely called Draco supporters out
5:53 in a not so subtle and not so sensitive
5:56 way she says that it's common sense to
5:59 realize that Draco is a bad person which
6:01 wow wow basically just said that Draco
6:04 supporters are bad readers because they
6:06 didn't infer that and didn't understand
6:08 that which she implies was pretty easy
6:11 to understand she actually seems a bit
6:13 frustrated that people have changed the
6:16 idea of the character she wrote she also
6:18 says that though he did a few good
6:20 things he does not have a Redemption
6:22 saying that Draco does not have a heart
6:26 of gold shows that deep down he is not a
6:28 good person in the end and anything he
6:30 did in the end did not make up for the
6:31 horrors he put his victims of his
6:33 bullying through that makes it pretty
6:35 clear folks Draco is not a good
6:38 character he was never good and in the
6:41 end he's still a terrible person let me
6:43 know in the comments below what you
6:46 think especially you Draco supporters
