0:03 Today is January 2nd, 2026
0:06 and 20% [music] of you have already
0:09 broken your new year resolutions. We are
0:13 going to see how you can make new year
0:15 resolutions or resolutions in general
0:18 that actually stick in this particular
0:23 video. If you're new here, I am Baba and
0:26 I have been teaching meditation for more
0:29 than 35 years and I help people exactly
0:32 like you upspiral their lives through
0:35 the secrets of sleep, meditation,
0:38 spirituality and holistic success. In
0:40 this video, I will also be joined by Desh.
0:42 Desh.
0:46 In my last video last year
0:48 in 2025,
0:53 I told you some things to do before you
0:55 make new year resolutions.
0:57 Decluttering your mind, for example. Go
0:59 back and watch that video if you've not
1:02 watched it yet. You need to have a clean
1:04 foundation. You cannot build the
1:07 resolutions of 2026 on the rubble of 2025.
1:09 2025.
1:11 So I am assuming that you have already
1:13 done that. You have done the cleaning up
1:16 that is required and now we are here in
1:21 2026 doing a fresh start and figuring
1:24 out how to create resolutions that
1:27 stick. The ancient sages of India have
1:30 taught us that we do not make new year
1:33 resolutions. We make what is called a
1:37 salpa. They understood our brain and the
1:40 inner wiring of our system. You see the
1:45 mind has two parts to it. There is a
1:48 conscious mind and then there is a huge
1:51 subconscious mind and the conscious part
1:54 of the mind is just like 5 to 10%. Our
1:58 minds are like icebergs. Just 10% of
2:00 them which is visible on the surface is
2:01 our conscious mind is something that we
2:04 consciously decide. Like right now you
2:06 are consciously deciding to watch the
2:10 video but a humongous part of the mind
2:13 is not accessible to you the
2:15 subconscious part. And this is exactly
2:18 why resolutions fail because the
2:20 resolutions that you make are made from
2:22 the conscious parts of your mind. I will
2:26 not have sugar says the conscious part.
2:28 But 90% of the subconscious says hello
2:30 what's going on? Why should we not have
2:32 sugar? It is so tasty. It is so
2:34 comforting. What are you talking about?
2:37 And willpower will work for some time.
2:40 But you have got the force of 90%
2:41 against that thing that you have
2:43 decided. I will go to the gym four five
2:46 times a week. Conscious mind.
2:48 Subconscious says why? Why should we go
2:51 to the gym after working out? It pains.
2:54 Uh no no no no. And so again you are
2:56 trying to use your willpower. You are
2:58 trying to you know make sure that you
3:02 stick to your resolution. And it is so difficult
3:03 difficult
3:06 because you have not aligned your
3:09 subconscious to your conscious. You have
3:11 not aligned
3:14 a huge part of the decision making people
3:15 people
3:21 in your inside to go with what you want.
3:22 I will tell you one little secret about
3:25 the subconscious mind. It does not
3:30 understand negative statements.
3:33 I will not eat sugar. It does not
3:36 understand. It only understands sugar
3:38 and it will take you towards sugar. Have
3:39 you noticed that you know maybe you were
3:41 learning how to ride a bicycle recently?
3:43 While I was playing the piano, I was
3:46 playing a tough piece and what happened
3:50 was as I came to a very difficult part,
3:51 I was going I should not make this
3:53 mistake. I should not make the mistake.
3:56 I should not and I made the mistake. The
3:58 subconscious somehow doesn't understand
4:01 the instruction don't. It only catches
4:03 the rest of it. There is that very
4:05 famous story of you know two kids were
4:07 playing in the tree and there was a huge
4:10 gust of wind and one parent shouts don't
4:14 let go and the other parent shouts hold
4:18 on and the parent whose kid was told
4:20 don't let go let go because the
4:23 subconscious does not hear the don't. I
4:27 don't want to be lazy.
4:29 Finished. You are going to be lazy. I
4:33 will not get angry. That's it. You have
4:40 The subconscious does not understand
4:43 negative. The ancient sages of India,
4:47 they came up with the idea of a way to
4:50 make a new year resolution or any
4:52 resolution for that matter. And they
4:56 called it a salulpa. And a sulpa is a
4:59 brilliant way to bring that 90% of the
5:01 subconscious onto your side. So that
5:04 what you want consciously actually
5:07 starts manifesting in your life. But
5:09 what exactly is a sulpa and how to make
5:12 a salpa? D is going to tell you right
5:16 now. I am DH. Welcome to Baba Dh TV. It
5:18 is saidishi
5:22 versusi the way you see things that is
5:25 how you will shape reality. So your
5:28 salpa will not only shape the brain as
5:31 neuroscience now tells us it will shape
5:34 the reality around you the world around
5:36 you your life.
5:40 So in Sanskrit it saysamati
5:43 the way you feel if you feel yes I am
5:46 healthy that is the kind of reality that
5:49 will manifest around you so the salpa
5:52 inherently has intention and your
5:55 attention as I said it's like sewing a
5:58 seed in our fertile consciousness now
6:00 when you sew a seed you don't keep uh
6:04 digging every other day and saying oh is
6:05 it growing is it growing is it growing
6:08 No, you just sew the seed and you give
6:11 attention to it. You water it. Yeah. So
6:14 similarly keep the salpa and you work
6:18 towards it and it has to manifest.
6:22 But start with I am that I am healthy. I
6:26 am happy. The purity and the power with
6:29 which you take the salpa will ensure how
6:32 quickly and how gloriously your sulpa
6:35 manifests. There is quite a fine line
6:38 between an affirmation or a resolution
6:42 and a salpa. For example, you may have a salpa,
6:43 salpa,
6:46 I am fit and healthy.
6:49 It's like sewing the seed of being fit
6:52 and healthy into the consciousness.
6:54 As DH said, you have to put your
6:56 attention to it. Meaning, you need to
7:00 work towards it. You need to be a fit,
7:04 healthy person right now.
7:06 And that could mean saying no to a late
7:08 night snack because you are a fit
7:10 healthy person. Remember that is your
7:13 identity. Now
7:16 a salpa is definitely not something that
7:19 you keep repeating all the time
7:22 right think of it like you are in
7:24 Bangalore and you want to go to say puna
7:26 and you're driving.
7:28 So you're driving and you're going I'm
7:30 going to puna. I have to go to puna. I
7:32 have to get to puna puna puna puna. If
7:35 you do that, you are most probably going
7:39 to land up in some mental hospital.
7:41 What does the salpa mean? It means I
7:44 have it in the back of my head that I am
7:46 going to puna. Now I do the other
7:51 things. I drive. I enjoy my drive.
7:53 Right? And when there is an intersection
7:54 where I have to decide whether I have to
7:57 go right or left at that point I think
8:01 oh yes puna so I will take the right
8:04 in the exact same way when you have
8:06 taken the salpa say of being healthy and fit
8:08 fit
8:10 and the choice is there do I go to the
8:14 gym or do I sleep another 45 minutes it
8:18 is easy to take that decision to get out
8:20 of bed and go to the gym when the
8:23 decision comes Should I eat that
8:26 delicious gooey super calorie chocolate
8:29 pastry or should I not? But if you are a
8:31 fit, healthy person, maybe you have just
8:36 one bite, not the entire cake.
8:38 Do you see what I'm saying? This is the
8:40 difference between a salulpa and
8:44 affirmation and how to manifest it.
8:47 It is said that by January 15th more
8:50 than 80% of the new year resolutions
8:53 that people make have been broken.
8:56 Using the technique of salpa, I am
8:59 pretty sure the new year resolutions
9:01 that you are now going to make
9:03 especially after cleaning up that
9:04 [music] foundation which we talked about
9:07 in the previous video last year. DH and
9:09 I would love to know your Sulpas [music]
9:11 for 2026.
9:13 Please put them in the comments and I
9:18 will read them. And a happy happy new
9:23 year to all of you. My salpa for you.
9:25 May you be healthy. May you be happy.
9:27 [music] May you have wisdom and may you
