0:01 I have read more than 300 fantasy books
0:04 and read or started around 40 to 50
0:05 fantasy series and today I want to go
0:08 over what my top 10 favorite fantasy
0:10 series are of all time now it's been
0:12 around one year since I did a top 10
0:14 fantasy series video and I thought it
0:16 was time to have an update cuz I have
0:18 shuffled the list around a bit but first
0:19 let's get into honorable mentions
0:20 firstly I just want to get out of the
0:22 way I'll put Lord of the Rings here and
0:24 that's simply because I find it so
0:25 predictable that everyone expect lord of
0:27 rings to be number one it is one of the
0:29 greatest series of all time you should
0:30 definitely read it if we haven't but I
0:31 feel like everyone has read Lord of the
0:33 Rings so I'll put in in honorable
0:35 mentions please no one comment why is
0:36 Lord of the Rings not number one I
0:38 usually always get at least one okay the
0:40 next one on honorable mention is the
0:42 bound under the broken by Ryan Kyle I
0:43 feel like if you've been watching Book
0:45 Two for the past year then you have
0:47 heard about this series so often but
0:49 yeah if you love traditional epic
0:51 fantasy but that feels more modern maybe
0:53 has better mental health representation
0:54 it's a bit more diverse and it's also
0:57 pce better but it's absolutely epic in
1:00 scope and is a modern Ono series then
1:02 you need to check out this series it is
1:04 absolutely brilliant I think most people
1:06 agree that of blood and fire which is
1:08 the first book is a very very solid
1:10 entry but it feels very traditional and
1:12 tropy and when you read it you
1:14 definitely can see a lot of inspiration
1:16 from Lord of the Rings and Wheel of Time
1:17 and faithful and fall and so on but it's
1:20 still a solid book but yeah the fall and
1:21 of Darkness and Light and the other
1:23 books are just on a whole another level
1:25 so definitely one of my favorite series
1:27 and when this series is completed I
1:29 could definitely see it pop into the top
1:31 10 the next one on mentions is memory
1:33 Sor and Thorn by Ted Williams now I only
1:35 read two of the three books in the
1:37 series but yeah this is right of my
1:39 alley again it's very traditional it has
1:41 a lot of the Tres we come to know from
1:43 classical fantasy but I must say Ted
1:45 Williams is one of the most beautiful
1:47 writers I've ever encountered in the
1:49 genre I always mentioned Robin hop as
1:51 the queen of fantasy as someone that is
1:53 able to write these very slowburn books
1:55 and just absolutely captivated me but
1:56 yeah we have a contender that might
1:57 actually knock her off the throne when
2:00 it comes to beautiful pros and that is
2:02 Williams now the first two books are
2:03 some of my favorite books of all time
2:04 already and I still need to read the
2:06 third and final book which is also
2:08 absolutely massive but what I will say
2:09 here which makes it a bit more
2:10 challenging to recommend the series for
2:13 everyone is that first yes it's quite
2:15 tropy so if you're sick and tired of
2:17 tropy fantasy or classic fantasy it
2:19 might not be your jam but secondly these
2:23 books are crazy crazy slow but I love
2:25 them still and it comes down to the fact
2:28 that t Williams is so incredible at
2:30 crafting beautiful sentences can read an
2:31 instruction manual written by Ted
2:32 Williams and I would probably still
2:34 enjoy it so that should just tell you
2:37 how highly I would praise his ability to
2:39 craft beautiful scenes and settings and
2:41 so on the next one on mentioned is ill
2:44 born by Daniel T Jackson now I've given
2:45 the first two books in the series five
2:47 out of five STS I absolutely love them
2:49 and there's still two more books to come
2:50 now I think last year I did put the
2:52 series on spot number eight but yeah
2:53 I've read some brilliant series since
2:55 and this series is unfinished and that's
2:56 the only reason why I feel I can justify
2:58 bringing it down but yeah one of the
2:59 greatest series I've ever read
3:00 definitely one of the greatest self
3:02 publish series I've ever read it is
3:04 criminally criminally underrated I
3:06 absolutely love it and you should
3:07 definitely check it out and the last
3:09 series on honorable mention is Empire of
3:12 the Wolf by Richard Swan now I also
3:14 believe that this series was in my top
3:15 10 last year but it's just dropped down
3:17 a tiny bit now I read the third and
3:19 final book in this trilogy The Trials of
3:22 Empire 3 4 months ago and while I
3:24 thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed the
3:26 conclusion in my opinion book one and
3:29 two were just a bit better and book
3:32 three feel like it focus a lot on the
3:34 very dark spiritual Elements which I
3:36 usually prefer and they felt very unique
3:37 so there's nothing inherently wrong with
3:38 the book I just felt like book one and
3:40 two are better and if I look at the
3:41 average star rating I would give this
3:43 Trilogy it probably doesn't justify
3:46 putting it in my top 10 but what I will
3:47 say is if you want to read something
3:49 unique something that someone that bring
3:50 something new to genre you need to check
3:53 out this Trilogy it's like a criminal SL
3:56 legal H donut kind of fantasy that has a
3:58 lot of political Intrigue a lot of like
4:01 commentary or morality and law and like
4:03 where do we get our values from and so
4:06 on and then it turns very very dark in
4:08 book two and especially book three it is
4:11 almost a straightup horror novel so it
4:13 is just such a an interesting and unique
4:15 experience and it's definitely a series
4:17 I think more people should read cuz yeah
4:18 I had a blast with every single book in
4:20 that trilogy now if you want to
4:23 experience Amazing Stories for free then
4:25 check out today's sponsor story wor now
4:28 story wor offers a new read watch
4:30 immersive experience per perfect for
4:32 when you want to unwind but you can't
4:34 commit to a full movie or book I mean
4:35 reading stories on story words is kind
4:37 of like reading an animated manga or
4:40 graphic novel which each story crafted
4:42 by different writers and animators and
4:45 the best part this app is totally free
4:48 and so easy to use you'll discover new
4:49 and upcoming authors along with stories
4:52 from award-winning creators behind shows
4:53 like Raised by Wolves love death and
4:56 robots and Disney's descendant plus
4:58 you'll get to experience a wide range of
5:01 Animation styles from 2D to 3D to handd
5:04 drawn and Anime and also all the stories
5:08 are made by creators not AI so it's also
5:10 a really great way to support animators
5:12 now I read a story called red and I was
5:14 blown away by the animation and the
5:16 sound effects now this story is set in a
5:18 post-apocalyptic future and follows a
5:20 young girl as she's traveling through
5:22 this desolate World giving off Dune
5:24 Vibes with some really creepy elements
5:27 as well I really enjoyed this story now
5:28 if you're looking for something
5:31 entertaining and unique while supporting
5:34 animators and authors story of verse is
5:36 the way to go you can download the free
5:38 app using the link in description down
5:39 below thank you so much to story for
5:41 responsing this video okay without
5:43 further Ado let's get into my top 10 and
5:45 I was really debating where I should put
5:46 the series cuz this is one of the series
5:49 I'm most fond of of all time and when I
5:51 think about my enjoyment when I read it
5:53 it was off the scale it was one of the
5:54 series I've enjoy the most and that is
5:56 going to be the faithful and the Fallen
5:58 by John Gwyn now if you asked me around
6:00 2 years ago I probably put the faith in
6:01 the fallen in my top three Fair series
6:03 of all time but yeah I've become maybe a
6:05 slightly bit more critical about this
6:06 series especially maybe the first half
6:08 of book one and book four but to be
6:10 honest the real reason is I've just read
6:12 so many incredible series since but yeah
6:13 this is one of those series that a lot
6:16 of people they love to describe as
6:18 traditional fantasy that feels modern
6:20 and it's so so true we have like a farm
6:21 boy to Hero kind of trob we have a
6:24 chosen one we have elves and we have
6:25 almost everything that we love in
6:27 fantasy so when you pick up this series
6:29 it'll feel familiar but it'll also feel
6:31 feel very very fresh and what everyone
6:33 loves about B J Quin is the pacing like
6:35 you really feel especially after the
6:37 halfway point of malice the plot just
6:39 doesn't stop and you just constantly
6:40 keep going on to next thing and next
6:43 thing and it's so so riting and to this
6:47 stage book three ruin is honestly one of
6:49 those books where I had my mouth open
6:51 for almost all of the book it was just
6:55 it's a masterpiece in execution and also
6:58 unexpected plot twist and just emotions
6:59 I read that book I just couldn't stop
7:01 reading it is incredible so yeah if you
7:02 haven't checked out the faith on the
7:04 Fallen yet I would highly recommend it
7:06 and there's also a sequel series which
7:07 is also quite good but just not as good
7:09 but yeah definitely would recommend J
7:11 quit he's one of my favorite authors
7:13 okay on spot number nine and I'll just
7:16 say that all the books on this list I I
7:17 couldn't really rank them I kept going
7:19 back and forth and this series here I'm
7:20 putting spot number nine could have
7:22 easily been on spot number six or five
7:24 but that's going to be the farsu trilogy
7:27 by Robin hob Robin hob is without a
7:29 doubt one of my favorite authors of all
7:31 time and if you want to read something
7:33 that is slow burn but beautifully
7:35 written and has a lot of themes that you
7:37 might not see as well executed in
7:39 fantasy such as questioning your
7:41 identity trying to find your place in
7:42 the world and just the struggles of
7:44 Legacy then I would definitely recommend
7:47 the far Trilogy and also it has one of
7:49 the best pet companions ever what
7:50 literally one of the best ones in the
7:52 whole genre now I just want to bring it
7:53 to your attention that the far Trilogy
7:56 is a single PV first person kind of
7:58 story and Fitz who is honestly one of
8:01 the greatest character in Fantasy is
8:02 also one of the most annoying I think a
8:04 lot of you will find him absolutely
8:07 infuriating because he is so so pathetic
8:10 but yeah Robin Hop's ability to make you
8:12 feel for him and feel compassion for him
8:14 is unrivaled and I think most of you if
8:15 you actually read this Trilogy you will
8:18 cry real tears cuz it's so sad but it's
8:20 yet so beautiful so yeah I can't
8:22 recommend the series enough and then on
8:23 spot number eight again a series that if
8:25 you asked me two years ago I would
8:26 probably rank number one but that is
8:28 going to be Miss born by Brandon
8:30 Sanderson I don't really feel like I
8:31 need to say much about Mporn I think
8:34 everyone on book talks about this series
8:36 absolutely nonstop yeah this is one of
8:38 the series that got me into fantasy I
8:40 remember when I picked up this series
8:42 being totally unexposed to Modern
8:44 fantasy it just blew my mind it was kind
8:46 of like reading a video game it was my
8:47 first time seeing a hard magic system
8:49 with lots of rules and the read is just
8:51 so atmospheric it's one of those Series
8:53 where I was just really able to
8:56 visualize everything that went on again
8:58 I love book one but what I love so much
9:01 about book one is that Sanderson has one
9:03 of those really really shocking and
9:06 unexpected plot TW I did not see that
9:07 ending in book one coming and the book
9:09 two and three are maybe slightly
9:10 different but they bring something new
9:12 to the world I just love the whole
9:14 trilogy when I read it four years ago I
9:15 remember I gave every single book five
9:18 out of five stars now I read around 250
9:20 books since so if I reread misore now I
9:22 can see myself maybe being a bit more
9:24 critical than I was at that point but
9:26 still especially if you're new to Epic
9:27 Fantasy you need to check out the series
9:28 but also if you read lost of loss and
9:30 lot of f I still think that you would
9:32 have a wonderful time with this series
9:33 now last year when I did this video I
9:35 got a bit of flag for actually making
9:37 the cosm one Series so I'm not going to
9:39 do that again and speaking of cosmere on
9:41 spot number seven we have The Stormlight
9:43 Archive by Brandis Henderson as well now
9:46 the only reason why this series isn't in
9:47 my top three which it does have the
9:49 potential for is because I still need to
9:51 rhythm of war and while way of kings and
9:53 Words of Radiance and I made a video how
9:55 my perception has actually changed about
9:57 those books I become even more positive
9:58 I relatively recently finished
10:01 oathbringer book three and while I had a
10:04 blast I must admit that oathbringer albe
10:06 it's a good book was nowhere near as
10:09 good as both book one and two I think
10:11 special Words of Radiance is honestly
10:13 one of the best books in the world or at
10:15 least one of the best books I have ever
10:16 read so if you want something that is
10:19 absolutely epic in scale but you also
10:20 want to read something that feels very
10:23 modern and new and unique then you need
10:25 to check out Stormlight and also the
10:26 characters we follow there are
10:28 incredible and yeah I'm so glad to see
10:31 that there's a least some really really
10:33 big Epic Fantasy series still going on
10:34 or ongoing and I can't wait to read
10:36 rhythm of War which I've heard is the
10:38 weakest so I'm a bit worried about that
10:40 one but yeah serson is able to write an
10:42 incredible conclusion in book five for
10:43 theal archive I could definitely see
10:45 this series breaking into my top three
10:47 okay we're now getting into top five and
10:49 I'll just say now while I have ranked
10:51 this series in my mind these are all
10:54 near perfect I mean all of them are the
10:55 highest recommend I can give you even
10:57 though I'm going to go to spot number
10:59 five it's not like it's way better than
11:01 number four five or three whatever on
11:03 spot number five we have the life ship
11:05 Trader Trilogy by Robin hop now one
11:07 thing that just blew my mind with that
11:09 series is that I read the fars Trilogy
11:12 first which is a single POV first person
11:13 kind of story and then you come to the
11:16 life Trilogy which is a multiple POV
11:18 story that's written in third person so
11:20 it's written very very differently and
11:24 Robin hob she just absolutely Nails it
11:26 and the reason why I would rack lilogy
11:29 even higher is just because of the scale
11:31 and the complexity in character arcs the
11:33 world really opens up and the plot is
11:34 just so much more compelling and we
11:36 learn so much more about the world and
11:38 honestly the first book in the trilogy
11:41 is five out of five stars it is so good
11:43 and I know some people will crucify me
11:45 here but I genuinely think that you can
11:47 start with the life shifted Trilogy then
11:49 you can pick up the Fire Trilogy but
11:50 after that you need to read in
11:52 chronological order so if you trust me
11:53 and you potentially want to start with
11:55 Robin hob and you want to experience the
11:56 best she's written you can start with
11:58 the life ship trailor Trilogy it is
12:00 simply simply brilliant and while I
12:01 could make a whole video about the
12:03 trilogy what I'll just highlight here is
12:06 Robin Hop's incredible ability to write
12:08 and deal with trauma I don't think I've
12:11 ever come across any fantasy series that
12:13 has been able to analyze the theme of
12:16 trauma and grief as well as Robin hop
12:18 does in this Trilogy it is just so
12:19 beautiful to see how characters
12:21 experience grief and Trauma in book one
12:23 and then how that grief and Trauma
12:27 slowly changes over book two and then
12:28 onto book three and yeah these three
12:30 books are absolutely massive but the
12:32 fact that there is a longer word count
12:35 really allows Robin hob to show the
12:38 reader how trauma and grief changes over
12:39 a long period of time so yeah I can't
12:41 price this stry enough and you should
12:43 definitely read it please more people
12:45 you need to read Robin hob she deserves
12:47 to be mentioned as one of the authors
12:49 along with Joe Abby Brandon serson and
12:52 so on on spot number four we have age of
12:55 Madness by Joe abomi honestly this
12:58 Trilogy is if you enjoy Grim dark if you
13:01 enjoy com characters and if you enjoy
13:03 seeing fantasy where the world actually
13:05 progresses and you want to see some
13:07 fascinating analysis of like class
13:09 structures and capitalism and you want
13:11 to see a fantasy that has clear
13:12 Inspirations from the Industrial
13:14 Revolution then you need to pick up this
13:16 series now I would strongly encourage
13:17 you to first read for the first L
13:19 Trilogy and also a couple of the standal
13:21 Loon maybe all three before you get to
13:23 age of Madness but I think most of you
13:24 have probably heard of Joe abon he's
13:26 always mentioned as one of those authors
13:27 that everyone needs to check out
13:29 especially in the enjoy Grim dark and
13:30 the Beautiful Thing with the age of met
13:33 Trilogy is that it takes what was really
13:35 really good with the first slot Trilogy
13:37 and just improves upon it in almost
13:39 every single way which is very very hard
13:40 to do considering how good the first L
13:43 Trilogy was now these books are very
13:44 very character driven especially the
13:47 first trilogy but also age of Madness
13:48 and honestly there are very very few
13:50 authors out there that are able to
13:52 create characters that have such a
13:54 distinct voice there's no need in his
13:57 books to actually write who said what
13:59 because you just know from the T from
14:01 how the sentences are structured who is
14:03 talking and it is just incredible I mean
14:06 Joe ABY is an absolute genius and
14:07 deserves all the praise and love he
14:09 receives in this community okay on spot
14:11 number three is again as serious I could
14:13 easily put number one but that is going
14:15 to be the green bone Saga by fondale
14:17 what I just love so much about modern
14:19 fantasy is how the genre constantly
14:22 brings new things to the genre which I
14:23 had just never thought about the green
14:27 Bon Saga is a modern Asian inspired
14:30 Mafia kind of story that has a lot of
14:33 focus on family drama yes it is
14:35 seriously seriously like a unique and
14:37 strange blend but it's also one of the
14:40 most captivating and compelling reads I
14:44 have ever read so this is a high high
14:46 recommend if you enjoy modern fantasy
14:48 but also if you enjoy fantasy that has a
14:50 lot of focus on the politics yes there
14:52 are some incredibly riveting action
14:54 scenes in the series but there's just so
14:57 much fascinating and compelling dialogue
14:59 where characters are discussing family
15:02 drama or the situation with Jade and
15:04 there's different kingdoms and countries
15:05 becoming involved and one of my favorite
15:07 things about this whole trilogy is the
15:10 time span now book one and two cover I
15:12 don't know how long but then book three
15:15 literally covers 10 years and while most
15:17 fantasies will often have a big buildup
15:20 and then a really really big climax what
15:22 I think Fond does so brilliantly here is
15:25 to Showcase how some of these more
15:27 complex and bigger conflicts are often
15:29 not just resolved over one battle
15:31 there's often lots of little conflicts
15:33 on the way and usually just time span
15:35 will change up in while people are in
15:36 conflicts and I genuinely think that
15:39 Jade Legacy is one of the most ambitious
15:41 fantasy novels I ever read just the fact
15:43 that she writes a novel that covers 10
15:45 years of time and I know some people
15:46 sometimes say that that book reads quite
15:48 episodic and they're not a massive fan
15:50 of that but generally my mind was
15:53 absolutely Blown Away by Jade Legacy
15:55 just the sheer audacity to write a novel
15:58 like that and it's just so satisfying
15:59 and also just briefly the characters in
16:02 The Green B Saga are honestly one of the
16:04 most memorable and best characters in
16:06 The genre now if you're a big fan of the
16:07 series then I would also highly
16:08 recommend you checking out some of the
16:09 novelas that fun Le has written in this
16:12 universe they are also incredible and
16:13 yeah I just absolutely can't wait to see
16:15 what fun Lee will write next cuz yeah
16:17 from now on I will read basically
16:19 anything that she writes okay on spot
16:23 number two we have and last year I think
16:25 I put this series as number one it could
16:26 just have easily been number one but on
16:29 spot number two is The Dark Tower by
16:31 Stephen King one of the most
16:33 underappreciated Series in the bookup
16:34 community now I know that this Series
16:36 has so millions and millions and
16:37 millions of copies so it's not the fact
16:39 that they hasn't sold well I'm just like
16:40 wondering where is the love for the
16:42 series now if you watch my channel then
16:43 you know that the Dark Tower is one of
16:46 the series that really open my eyes to
16:48 what fantasy can be coming to the genre
16:50 I had this perception that fantasy is
16:51 what Lord of the Rings is you know a
16:54 farm boy a hero kind of genre but what
16:57 Stephen King does with the Dark Tower is
16:59 just mind-blowing it's a West SL Epic
17:02 Fantasy SL horror SL meta and like
17:05 science fiction kind of story and it is
17:08 honestly one of the strangest series I
17:09 have ever read with some of the craziest
17:11 plot decisions I've ever seen and some
17:13 of the wildest moments and the ending of
17:16 Dark Tower is so controversial but in my
17:18 opinion it's so fitting and what I just
17:20 love about this series is the fact that
17:23 s King he really pushes the genre yes of
17:25 course fantasy can be Lord of the Rings
17:26 there's nothing wrong with that or it
17:28 can be Romany and I'll just say this now
17:30 the RO and the protagonist we follow he
17:33 is genuinely one of the most iconic
17:35 characters I've ever come across this
17:38 Gunslinger that has so much in you have
17:40 so many questions about him as you
17:43 follow his Relentless haunt for The Dark
17:45 Tower over all of these books genuinely
17:46 I don't think you would be watching this
17:48 video right now if it wasn't for the
17:50 Dark Tower because that series opened my
17:52 eyes that fantasy is so much more than
17:54 my narrow perception of the genre and
17:55 that led me to reading Miss born and The
17:57 Wheel of Time later on I don't even have
17:58 the Wheel of Time on here [Applause]
18:05 so yeah I might be a bit nostalgic by
18:07 this series but I'll just give you a
18:09 slight caveat here the Gunslinger the
18:11 first book in the series might be the
18:13 weakest in this whole series but then
18:15 book two and three are just so much
18:17 better and you'll just understand me
18:19 when you finish the series but when you
18:20 have finished the series you'll come
18:22 back to gunslinger and be like wow that
18:24 book actually was incredible just trust
18:26 me this one and I just noticed that I
18:28 don't know how to count cuz I still have
18:30 two series to go and we're actually on
18:32 spot number one so I'll add two series
18:34 on spot number one I do apologize okay
18:36 there other series on this list and you
18:37 heard me mention it right now but that's
18:39 going to be the Wheel of Time by Robert
18:42 Jordan honestly if you want a series
18:45 that has maybe the best world building
18:47 I've ever come across in the genre and
18:49 you want some of the most infuriating
18:51 but also satisfying character arcs I've
18:52 ever come across then you need to check
18:54 out this series now I'm often quite
18:56 careful with recommending the series to
18:59 lots of people or B Because while I Love
19:02 Book 1 and six so much I will admit book
19:06 7 to 10 are rough they are slow they are
19:08 horrendously slow with some incredible
19:11 moments and then book 11 to 14 are
19:13 fantastic now my whole justification for
19:15 still recommending this series even
19:17 though I think it has a lot of problems
19:19 is the fact that whenever people finish
19:20 a series they are always happy I've
19:22 never met anyone that was sad that they
19:24 were actually able to push through those
19:26 slow books but yeah I don't really feel
19:27 it's fair for me to ask people to read a
19:29 series where when I think there's around
19:31 two to 3,000 pages in the middle which
19:33 could easily almost have been caught out
19:35 totally but yeah The Wheel of Time one
19:36 of the greatest series I've ever read it
19:38 has AR be the best world building in the
19:40 genre it has some of the greatest
19:44 characters and it has so many incredible
19:46 epic moments when I think of B series
19:47 with epic moments I will often think
19:48 about the storb archive Lord of the
19:50 Rings and then I will often mention The
19:52 Wheel of Time as well and the other
19:54 series that is on spot number one so
19:55 without further Ado let's get to the
19:58 other series that is on spot number one
20:00 and that is a series that I finished
20:03 this year and I did call it the most
20:05 underrated series of all time that I
20:07 read you can actually watch my full
20:09 spoiler fore video here but that is
20:12 going to be the dandelion Dynasty by Ken
20:13 Lou what I just love so much with
20:15 fantasy is that the more I read the more
20:17 I discovered that there are so many
20:19 series out there that continuously push
20:21 the boundaries of what a fantasy should
20:22 be now can lud described the series as a
20:24 silk Punk fantasy with clear Asian
20:26 Inspirations but it also has
20:28 Inspirations from the founding of North
20:31 America America and again similarly to
20:34 the green B Saga this series here has an
20:36 even bigger time scale I can't even put
20:39 into words the ambition and the scale of
20:43 this series these four massive books
20:46 literally span over I don't know maybe
20:48 two decades maybe 20 years maybe longer
20:50 we see the rise and fall of an Empire
20:53 and then the massive struggle of setting
20:55 up structures and being fair and the
20:56 amount of characters we have in this
20:58 series The amount of themes that that I
21:02 explored and the amount of
21:05 incredible epic scenes is just off the
21:07 scale this series analyzes technology
21:10 the burden of Legacy lot of question of
21:13 morality so much focus on politics it is
21:15 just absolutely fascinating and I genely
21:16 when you read the series you just have
21:18 this feeling that kenl he seems like an
21:20 author that is just probably has an IQ
21:22 of 130 now again I will give a caveat
21:25 here book one can be a challenge for
21:26 some readers now it's genely one of my
21:29 favorite books of all time but that book
21:31 kind of reads like a history book canl
21:32 doesn't spend much time on analyzing
21:34 characters you'll kind of go to the
21:35 story and it almost feels like you're
21:37 looking down on this massive map and
21:39 you're sitting next to a historian and
21:40 the historian will tell you that a
21:42 battle happened here this happened 10
21:44 pages about it and then he'll go like 3
21:47 months later another battle happen here
21:48 or another back sapping and then that
21:51 whole book kind of just feels like a
21:54 really big and epic prologue but then
21:55 you come to the wall of Storms and the
21:57 plot becomes much more focused on the
21:59 characters and the wall of storms
22:01 genuinely one of the best fantasy books
22:04 in the genre it is six out of five stars
22:06 because you read the great of kings and
22:08 that book is just off the scale epic and
22:10 then you get to wall of Storms and the
22:11 scale is even bigger but the characters
22:14 are fleshed out even more and oh I just
22:15 can't recommend enough I'll just
22:17 recommend this video here if you are
22:19 interested in the series where I talk
22:21 spoiler-free about all the themes and
22:22 everything that I think KL is trying to
22:24 accomplish with this series I just I
22:26 can't recommend it enough it is Criminal
22:29 literally criminal that can lose isn't
22:31 talked about more in the community he is
22:33 just so criminally underrated and yeah I
22:35 want to read everything he's written
22:37 from that one so those are my top 11
22:39 fantasy series of all time with I think
22:41 five honorable mentions there's so many
22:42 other series I could have mention on
22:44 here but just to keep it to top 10 I'll
22:45 leave it as it is what do you think
22:47 about racking do you think I'm wrong do
22:48 you think some series are missing here
22:49 definitely let me know and if you want
22:51 to know what my favorite trilogies are
22:52 of all time then you should definitely
22:54 check out this video oh you're still
22:55 here and you want more well the good
22:57 news is is that if you want more and you
22:58 want to support me then I do have a
23:00 patreon now if you didn't know then I
23:01 have a Viking book club where every
23:03 single month we read one book together
23:05 and you can be the one that can put the
23:07 book forward last month we read this
23:09 book and this month we're reading this
23:10 book and at the moment we are triling
23:13 having soon book club discussions after
23:14 everyone has read the book so also if
23:16 you want to discuss a book with me and
23:17 other like-minded people then the patron
