0:03 everyone today we're using the xn550
0:06 and uh what we're gonna do is just show
0:07 you how to
0:09 turn it on and start using it uh we'll
0:12 be using manual mode today
0:14 for the specimens but we're gonna be
0:15 using the
0:18 drawer sampler for our qc so
0:20 first things first we got to turn this
0:21 puppy on so
0:24 it is on in the back um the backed switch
0:25 switch
0:28 we're going to turn the green light on
0:28 you're going to notice
0:32 right away that over over on the right
0:35 the manual sample door you've got the
0:36 red light
0:38 the touch screen immediately comes on starts
0:39 starts
0:44 turning green and that
0:46 that indicates that there is a
0:48 connection there
0:50 that barcode reader is flashing green
0:51 all right
0:53 i've got my qc out it should come to
0:54 room temperature
0:56 for 15 minutes before you start running
0:59 it we use three levels of qc
1:02 and this is the
1:05 xn xn check
1:09 qc level one is the red
1:17 and level three is the black
1:20 okay and how these are um
1:22 indicated by level one level two level
1:25 three level one is a low
1:28 level two is a medium
1:32 range and then level three is your high
1:34 abnormal range so the low and the high would
1:35 would
1:38 make sure that the range of which you are
1:38 are
1:42 analyzing specimens is actually accurate
1:45 um we've talked in other videos about
1:47 the analytical measurable range
1:50 and the clinical reportable range the
1:53 analytical measurable range is what your
1:54 analyzer can
1:57 do without the aid of dilution
2:01 and detect
2:04 from the low range to the higher range
2:06 and that includes the normal range or
2:09 reference range as well
2:11 whereas the clinical reportable range is
2:14 what your facility has decided
2:17 is able to be reported out
2:20 with accuracy so that mainly extends on
2:21 the high
2:24 side of what analysis
2:27 will be acceptable on the high
2:30 side outside of the cl outside of the
2:32 analytical measurable range
2:35 okay so while i'm waiting for the
2:37 analyzer to continue
2:41 to warm up i am inverting my qc
2:44 okay i've i'm making sure that before i
2:46 did this the caps are on
2:50 very tightly and i'm just
2:53 inverting them up and down you should do
2:54 this about 20 times
2:57 before you put it on so it's a nice
2:58 rocking motion
3:01 inverting motion that you can do yourself
3:01 yourself
3:04 manually please don't use a rocker an
3:05 automated rocker
3:10 sysmex has sysmex has recommended not
3:14 to use a rocker and
3:16 i'm going to pause this because it's
3:18 going to take a little bit for it to
3:19 pull up and i don't want you sitting here
3:20 here
3:23 watching while it's just warming up so
3:24 i'll come back
3:26 all right so at this point everything is
3:28 ready to go
3:30 we have this beautiful green light down
3:32 at the bottom of the screen
3:34 all right now it's asking us for our
3:36 passwords you can find the password
3:38 in your lab reports you can also find
3:39 the password and the
3:43 supplied quick guide manual from the
3:46 um the company says mix
3:48 so this is a touch screen you can use
3:50 the touch screen you can also
3:53 use the um the keyboard
3:55 i'm going to use the keyboard at this
3:56 moment to show you that that works as well
3:57 well
4:01 you can't use it with all
4:09 you can absolutely try so we also have a
4:10 mouse as well
4:13 all right so what's happening now is we
4:13 are in
4:17 it's bringing up the the main menu of
4:20 what it is that you uh can do on this analyzer
4:21 analyzer
4:24 so the first thing we are going to do is
4:27 uh we are going to do the qc
4:28 so first things first you want to make
4:30 sure that in
4:33 this bottom right hand corner of the
4:35 touch screen it's in sampler mode
4:38 that means we're going to use the drawer okay
4:39 okay
4:41 for your specimen analysis you're going
4:42 to make sure that you turn
4:44 that to manual but right now we need it
4:46 in sampler mode we also need that
4:49 beautiful green light on that left hand
4:53 bottom of your touch screen to show that
4:57 we are in ready mode
4:59 so before you get started on anything
5:01 you always want to make sure that
5:10 your adapter to the little holder
5:17 the metal piece in the right position it
5:19 looks great
5:23 so um you can either take out
5:26 this and load it or put it
5:29 in keep it in here and then load it so i
5:32 have made sure that i have inverted
5:35 um lovingly inverted my qc
5:37 uh probably more than 20 times at this
5:40 point uh the analyzer is going to invert
5:41 it as well there's an arm
5:43 in there which you can barely see
5:45 because of the glare
5:47 see that black piece right there uh in
5:48 the glare
5:51 of the tube the qc tube that's where the
5:53 arm is it comes
5:55 and it picks these up and it's going to
5:56 invert them
5:59 so i'm going to do level one in position one
6:00 one
6:03 okay this is the way it always is 10 is
6:03 at the back
6:06 one is in the front all right we've got level
6:07 level
6:11 two gonna load that now and number two
6:14 and level three is in
6:18 number three the um the question you may
6:19 have is
6:23 okay well if that's the case
6:26 if we know that there's bar codes and we
6:28 know that this is the automated side
6:34 why do we care because
6:37 it will automatically read the barcode and
6:37 and
6:40 um that sort of thing but the thing is
6:42 is that you want to indicate
6:45 where the first tube is okay
6:47 looking at this picture you even see
6:50 that your rack needs to be
6:52 in like this with 10 in the back one in
6:53 the front
6:56 if you stuck the uh qc
6:59 in um position six seven or eight you
7:01 know something back here
7:02 it's going to go and it's going to check
7:04 every single position that's just a
7:05 waste of time
7:06 all right so the reason that we go and
7:08 do this is that we're showing
7:11 the analyzer where to start we see that it's
7:11 it's
7:15 in cbc diff mode that's perfect
7:18 this is whole blood qc meaning that it's
7:20 going to test all your parameters
7:23 as if it's running a patient whole blood specimen
7:25 specimen
7:28 so that being said if you had a body
7:30 fluid you would need to make sure to get
7:33 the appropriate qc for that type of analysis
7:34 analysis
7:36 so we already pressed i mean we'll press
7:38 it again just to show you how it works
7:42 press ok all right and now
7:45 we're ready to go ahead and press the
7:47 start button
7:50 done that's that blue button right here
7:54 all right you see that that drawer
7:55 starts to
8:06 it's going to the front it's going to analyze
8:08 analyze
8:11 and see oh my gosh i wish the glare
8:12 wasn't there
8:21 it's saying yes it is in position one mode
8:23 mode
8:26 it picked up the first qc look at that
8:28 now it's going to go back
8:36 the cap is on good thing [Laughter]
8:37 [Laughter]
8:40 that qc would be all over the place
8:44 now it's going to take it to that
8:47 sample analysis location that would be
8:49 the manual one that we'll do later for specimens
8:51 specimens
8:53 it's back reading the barcode now you
8:56 saw the barcode
9:06 wait pull it out once it's done
9:08 with the aspiration pulling out from the
9:10 qc tube it's back
9:14 out the arm's picking it up again
9:16 taking it back i really apologize for
9:18 the glare and it's putting it back in
9:19 that spot
9:28 i'm gonna invert it just like it did
9:50 over to that manual load area
9:52 put it in there and it's going to read
9:54 the barcode it just went back in
10:03 it's back in there aspirating the door
10:04 is closed
10:07 so that nothing gets in there it's
10:13 protecting you and there it is it's out again
10:19 arm picks it up and puts it back
10:21 all right so you've seen that twice i
10:22 don't think you need to watch that anymore
10:23 anymore
10:27 so what we're going to look for is
10:29 where can we see this at this point
10:31 where can we see
10:34 what the results look like if we have
10:35 any so far
10:39 so we have the printer i'm going to turn
10:46 it on
10:48 okay the on button's right here in the
10:50 front all right
10:53 once we have results it will come out
10:57 there see it's turning on um if
10:59 if you don't have it turned on obviously
11:02 it won't do that so
11:05 here we could go to our work list
11:08 we can see what's running right now
11:10 there is
11:13 no specimen running so that's why you
11:14 don't see anything
11:17 here we go to the qc
11:20 this is what we find out all right
11:25 so these in red were back in 2019
11:28 that's not what we're doing right now we
11:29 are doing the one
11:32 um the ones down here okay um
11:39 so we've got uh a really weird date there
11:41 there
11:43 um that's the expiration date that's not
11:45 the date that we have right now the
11:47 analysis date is right here
11:50 so it's showing us what time it is um
11:57 if it's expired or not it's not expired
11:58 so that's great
12:02 we can go and take a look at it and see
12:05 all right is it in um
12:12 so we can go along here and see
12:16 um what by arrowing down
12:18 the parameters that were measured so
12:20 this is all
12:23 of an automated cbc right and then we
12:27 go down we've got the diff the automated diff
12:28 diff
12:30 we've got a little bit of divi deviation
12:36 okay but everything is within this blue shaded
12:37 shaded
12:40 area so that's your 2sd
12:44 range there okay so everything looks
12:47 gorgeous oh my goodness that's perfect right
12:48 right
12:51 so let's go
12:55 back to the qc file we could check
13:13 you can um you can see that at the top
13:15 of your screen
13:18 i move my tripod a little bit
13:29 we saw everything look great okay the
13:31 red line means that's today
13:33 that's our specific run all right it's
13:35 been run other times before because we
13:36 had to set up
13:40 the qc the instrument was updated
13:47 we had to run qc to set the new lot okay
13:50 so looking at all these they look great
13:52 all right going up
13:56 to the top everything looks wonderful
14:00 so you can also see qc in a different way
14:01 way
14:05 so i'm in the third level here
14:08 level three you see i'm going to go up to
14:08 to
14:16 all right and it shows the results
14:21 this way okay you see it's qc
14:23 all right you see the number there is
14:24 whole blood
14:27 it's the time time and date all right
14:29 and you see how it fares
14:31 with the normal range and you know what
14:33 the units are
14:35 all of that you can graph this look at that
14:37 that
14:40 so you see the scatter plot here
14:42 the histogram of the reds and the platelets
14:45 platelets
14:48 um are there any flags
14:51 no that's great and this comes into play
14:52 when you
14:56 are in specimen analysis
14:58 okay we're just looking through but you
14:59 don't you don't need to go really past
15:00 that so
15:03 um you graph it out it looks like that
15:04 and then
15:07 your main here uh there is
15:10 a qc radar that you can do
15:12 i prefer the levy jennings which i
15:14 already showed you so
15:17 all right so since our qc did pass um
15:20 we're going to go ahead and we're going
15:22 to run some specimens
15:24 all right so i'm going to end this video and
15:26 and
15:30 we're gonna do we're gonna do a regular
15:33 um specimen that you would do like in class
15:34 class
15:36 all right so i'll see you next time
15:38 please make sure to subscribe if you
15:39 like this video
15:41 and i'll catch you next time have a
