0:19 Anderson and today we're talking about
0:22 car demands what is cartomancy well
0:25 basically it is a form of divination
0:30 that is using a deck of cards most of us
0:32 are familiar with the tarot cards and
0:35 more popular over the last I think 10 or
0:37 15 years or so is the Oracle card in
0:40 this version of cartomancy that we're
0:42 going to introduce we are going to be
0:44 talking about a standard poker deck or
0:52 playing card deck of 52 cards now in a
0:54 standard deck you have four suits
0:58 diamonds spades hearts and clubs
1:01 the cards are ace through King and each
1:05 have a numerical value of 1 through 13
1:08 now also in a standard deck you may find
1:11 one or two or none but usually two
1:13 jokers and those who have a numerical
1:15 value of the zero which we will talk
1:20 about in another video now before you do
1:21 a reading you're going to want to
1:24 shuffle the cards before you shuffle it
1:28 is important that you clear your deck by
1:32 either knocking or slapping or I like to
1:34 blow on my cards first style of
1:37 shuffling is the overhand shuffle which
1:38 you can kind of see here it's basically
1:40 you take the cards in one hand for them
1:44 up into another the second is a riffle
1:46 shuffle where you split the deck in half
1:49 basically flip them one over the other
1:52 and a dovetail kind of situation and
1:57 then put them back together and finally
2:00 you have one that you see in the casinos
2:02 a lot which is called a wash and the way
2:04 you do that is you just spread the cards
2:06 out and mix them all up together and
2:08 then you put them back
2:12 in together now when you're actually
2:15 performing a reading it's very important
2:17 in the system that I use any way to
2:21 handle your cards very carefully and
2:23 when you're revealing the cards to do it
2:26 in a certain way so you can either do it
2:30 facedown where you deal out the cards in
2:32 a spread and then you turn each card
2:35 over one by one left to right and you're
2:39 going to go from the side to side just
2:48 okay so you see that from left to right
2:50 always left to right another way to do
2:52 it is deal directly from the deck and
2:55 you can turn it over face up onto the
2:59 table but also remembering side to side
3:03 what you don't want to do it's not
3:04 important that you see the cards just
3:07 how they come off the deck here but it's
3:10 what's important is that you not flip
3:13 the card from the bottom to the top or
3:17 top to bottom over and because that can
3:19 influence your deck if you use a
3:23 reversed method now before we go I'll
3:25 give you a really quick and easy way to
3:28 start out reading getting comfortable
3:31 with the cards and that is the quick
3:33 answer read and you can do this with one
3:36 card or three cards it's basically yes
3:38 or no so you take one card and you
3:41 overturn it if you get a red card that's
3:42 a yes
3:47 very easy take one card and turn it over
3:50 if you get a black card like this ace
3:54 here that's a no it's very easy yes or
3:58 no Reds where cards are good black cards
4:01 are bad not bad but you know it's a
4:03 negative in response to whatever your
4:06 question is this is also good for
4:09 guiding you throughout your day the
4:12 other method is using three cards and so
4:17 you would take three cards out and then
4:21 you turn them over one at a time and in
4:24 this case majority rules so we have one
4:30 red card two red cards and one black
4:34 card so the majority of cards are red
4:35 then that means you have a mostly
4:40 positive answer for a strong yes okay
4:43 let's try again
4:52 we have three cards turning them over we
4:59 have one black card one red card and
5:03 another black card so here again we have
5:06 a majority rule if you have a black card
5:08 on either side and a red in the middle
5:11 mostly black that means the answer is
5:14 going to be unknown the position of the
5:15 cards makes more of a difference when
5:17 you get into the readings but for now
5:19 we're just focusing on the positive and
5:22 negative answers and now in this spread
5:26 we have three straight black cards one
5:29 two three so definite no strong no
5:32 whatever the question is the answer is
5:37 absolutely not in this case one last one
5:44 red to red and three Reds so all of them
5:45 red and in fact all of these are
5:49 diamonds so not only is this actually a
5:51 really good reading like an excellent
5:53 reading but because they're all diamonds
5:55 this could mean a very positive thing
5:57 having to do with money we'll talk about
5:59 the meanings of that later but that's it
