0:02 Here are the most terrifying mythical
0:05 creatures to ever exist or not exist hopefully.
0:12 >> The Manonal is a monster originating
0:14 from the Philippines and its name
0:17 roughly translates to one who separates
0:20 itself. It's a fearsome and disgusting
0:22 creature, usually resembling a
0:25 disfigured old woman at first. Its name
0:28 comes from its unpleasant habit of fully
0:30 detaching its torso from its lower body,
0:33 endrails hanging out all over the place,
0:35 and then sprouting enormous bat wings,
0:37 and just flying away into the night to
0:41 hunt for food. What food, you ask? Well,
0:42 during the hours of darkness, it will
0:45 use its long proboscus-like tongue to
0:47 suck blood from its human victims,
0:49 specifically targeting newlyweds,
0:52 lovers, newborn children, and grooms who
0:54 were abandoned before marriage. And it's
0:56 even known to extract fetuses from the
0:59 bodies of pregnant women. What? You
1:00 thought I was going to draw that, you
1:03 desensitized freak? Nuh-uh. Here's a
1:05 kitten instead. While it's hunting, the
1:07 manongal makes a sort of tick tick
1:09 ticking sound. And the farther away the
1:11 sound seems to be, the closer the
1:13 creature actually is in order to confuse
1:16 its victims. During its nightly hunt,
1:18 the creature's lower half is just left
1:20 standing somewhere. And this tiny design
1:23 flaw is its one weakness. If you want to
1:25 kill the monong, and let's face it, you
1:27 probably do, you need to prevent the
1:29 horrifying upper half from reuniting
1:32 with its butt, I recommend burning the
1:34 thing. But you can also use salt, ash,
1:36 or even garlic to ward off the torso,
1:38 kind of like a vampire. If the better
1:40 half of the monong hasn't rejoined its
1:43 severed ass by daybreak, it is believed
1:45 to die. Thank goodness. Despite the
1:47 world getting more modern by the day,
1:49 sightings of these creatures continue to
1:51 be reported, especially in the Visayian
1:53 regions of the Philippines. Don't forget
1:55 to hit that subscribe button or you
1:56 might just get a visit from one of these
1:58 gals tonight. Don't say I didn't warn
2:01 you, cuz I just did. If you thought that
2:02 was awful, hold on to your knives and
2:05 torches because the monongal is actually
2:07 the least scary creature in this whole
2:10 video and things are about to get weird. [Music]
2:17 The deadly whistler, also called El
2:19 Sabone, is different from the other
2:21 creatures on this list. And his story is
2:24 something of a cautionary tale.
2:25 Originally, this creature was an
2:28 ordinary boy, and he was a spoiled brat
2:30 who always got everything he wished for.
2:32 One day, he told his father to go out
2:35 and hunt a deer, his favorite meat, to
2:37 eat for dinner. His father did not
2:39 return with a deer. In fact, he returned
2:41 from the hunt with nothing at all. And
2:43 so the boy killed his father and cut out
2:45 his organs which he gave to his mother
2:47 and said, "Father has brought us some
2:50 meat for dinner." Well, that escalated
2:52 quickly. The boy's mother cooked the
2:54 meat, but quickly realized what had
2:56 happened. The part of the story that
2:58 I've just told you greatly varies
3:00 between tellings, but the next part is
3:02 always the same. The boy's family ties
3:05 him to a post and whips him and cleans
3:07 his wounds with alcohol, chili peppers,
3:10 and lemon juice. Ouch. They give him a
3:12 sack of his father's remains which they
3:14 curse him to carry for eternity. Then
3:17 two raid starving dogs are released upon
3:19 him. The skeletal creature that came out
3:21 of this terrible circumstance would be
3:24 called El Sabone or the deadly whistler,
3:27 standing at about 6 m tall and creaking
3:29 about the treetops with its bag of
3:31 bones. If you hear El Sabone whistling
3:33 from nearby, it means you are in no
3:35 danger. But if the whistling sounds
3:38 distant, it means that your death is
3:40 closer than you think. It's said that
3:42 the whistler can appear by your house on
3:44 certain nights and drop his sack to the
3:47 ground to count the bones within one by
3:49 one. If someone in the house hears the
3:51 whistler outside, nothing bad will
3:54 happen. However, if he spends the night
3:56 counting unnoticed until dawn, someone
3:58 in the house will die and their bones
4:01 will be added to the bag. If you like
4:03 this video so far, please don't forget

4:15 >> the Mlavi is a sea creature demon coming
4:17 from Orcadian folklore from the islands
4:20 of Orcne. No tales describe what it
4:22 looks like when it's dwelling down in
4:24 the depths, but an islander named Tamus
4:26 claimed to have an encounter with the
4:28 thing and described its onland
4:31 appearance in impressive detail.
4:33 According to Tamas, the Nlavi has a
4:35 man's torso attached to the body of a
4:38 horse as if it were a rider, except the
4:41 torso has no legs. It's just fused with
4:44 the eichin's back. The man's long arms
4:46 can reach the ground from where he sits,
4:48 and at top its shoulders is an enormous
4:51 head up to 3 f feet in diameter. Oh, I
4:53 forgot to mention that the nclavi has no
4:56 skin with black blood pulsating through
4:59 yellow veins. The horse's head has an
5:02 enormous gaping mouth that exudes toxic
5:05 vapors and one single eye burning like a
5:08 red flame. The creature's breath was
5:10 thought to wilt crops, sicken livestock,
5:13 and cause epidemics.
5:16 In 1722, one of the islands of Orcne
5:17 began the practice of burning seaweed
5:19 for a number of boring reasons,
5:22 including making soap and glass and
5:24 improving soil for farming. The point
5:27 is, the pungent smoke emitted by doing
5:28 this is believed to have enraged the
5:32 Nlavi and made it go on a wild rampage,
5:34 causing plagues, destroying crops, and
5:37 killing cattle and horses. This disaster
5:39 seemed to spread to all of the islands
5:41 in the business of burning seaweed. It's
5:43 said that like many sea dwelling
5:45 mythical creatures, the Nlavi can't
5:47 cross borders of fresh water. So, if
5:49 you're ever being chased by it, just
5:51 jump across a creek or something and
5:53 hope for the best. Up next on the list
6:02 the Aztec civilization believed that
6:05 before there was anything, there were
6:08 these four god dudes named these lovely
6:10 names, which I can pronounce. I just
6:13 don't feel like it right now. Using
6:15 their godly powers, as gods do, these
6:18 guys created the water, some more gods,
6:21 and most importantly, Sepaki, a sea
6:23 monster existing on the cosmic scale
6:25 that had an insatiable appetite for
6:27 everything it could get its mouths on.
6:30 This creature was so hungry all the time
6:33 that every joint on its body possessed a
6:35 different mouth. Elbow mouths, knee
6:37 mouths, knuckle mouths, you name it.
6:40 This begs the question, if each joint
6:42 has a mouth and mouths themselves have
6:45 joints, you know, for jaws and stuff,
6:47 did the creature's mouths have mouths
6:50 and did those mouths have more mouths
6:52 and so on. Anyhow, as the gods continued
6:54 on with the creation of everything, they
6:57 realized they had a problem. Everything
6:59 they made would just fall into the ocean
7:02 and get eaten by sepaki. So, being gods,
7:03 they decided they should probably do
7:05 something about this. But it wasn't as
7:07 easy as just snapping their fingers and
7:09 fixing the whole thing. Cipaki was so
7:12 powerful, so enormous, and so hungry
7:14 that it took all four of the original
7:16 gods to take him down, and one of them
7:19 lost a foot in the process. Eventually
7:21 though, they did manage to kill him by
7:23 separating his body into four sections,
7:26 one for each compass direction. Using
7:29 Sepaki's body, they created the entire
7:31 world. The creature's head became the 13
7:34 heavens. Its midsection was crafted into
7:36 the earth and its tail became the
7:38 underworld. The last mythical creature
7:41 on this list is by far the scariest of
7:42 all. If you've heard of it, you know all
7:44 too well that the people who believe in
7:47 it are afraid to even utter its name.
7:54 the stories of skinw walkers originate
7:57 from Navajo culture and indigenous
7:58 people of the southwestern United
8:01 States. You've probably seen memes and
8:02 videos all over the internet of creepy
8:05 animals and dudes in spooky costumes
8:06 hiding in the trees with captions like,
8:09 "Guys, I found a skinwalker."
8:11 But these could not be further from the
8:14 reality of these creatures. In Navajo
8:15 culture, there are people that practice
8:17 medicine and types of magic for the
8:20 benefit of the community as healers or
8:22 medicine men. They may learn about both
8:24 good and evil magic for the purpose of
8:27 protecting against evil. Witches are
8:28 essentially the opposite of these
8:30 healers. Their dark reflection, if you
8:32 will. Oftentimes, they start out as
8:34 medicine men, but they use their
8:36 knowledge of evil magic to hurt others,
8:38 and they use the corpses of humans to do
8:40 their work. They make their tools from
8:43 human bones, and use parts of the body
8:45 to make potions, which they use to kill
8:47 or hurt others. To become a skinw
8:50 walker, a witch must kill a close family
8:53 member, preferably a sibling. This gives
8:55 them the ability to shapeshift into
8:57 different animals, usually predatory
8:59 animals like bears, coyotes, and wolves,
9:01 but they can assume the shape of any
9:03 creature. They choose their shape based
9:05 on the abilities they need to do their
9:08 evil work, such as claws, stealth,
9:11 speed, or strength. When in human form,
9:13 the skinwalker wears the skin of the
9:15 animal they transform into, and their
9:17 eyes look like those of that animal. And
9:20 when in animal form, their eyes look
9:22 human. By day, these witches walk among
9:25 the humans of their tribe unnoticed. But
9:27 at night, they transform to cause
9:29 illness, death, and destruction wherever
9:32 they go. They can even read minds and
9:33 control their victims to do their
9:35 bidding. And they're often blamed for
9:37 causing all manner of mysterious
9:39 mischief and trouble. My channel is
9:41 still small enough that I can pretty
9:43 easily read every comment I get. So, let
9:45 me know which of these horrifying
9:46 mythical creatures do you think was
9:50 truly the most disturbing, and why?
9:52 As always, thank you very much for
9:54 watching. My name is Alex and I am
9:58 really smart. Until next time, farewell. [Music]
