0:07 well hello there I'm detwa I have a fun
0:10 idea for today you know sometimes I use
0:12 a glove to draw I use it every time I
0:14 draw on my tablet but I also use a
0:16 drawing glove with ink or pencils
0:18 sometimes to avoid smudges
0:21 however it's always a drawing glove I
0:23 wonder if I can use any other sort of
0:24 glove to draw with
0:26 this is the sort of challenge that is
0:28 fun to do I already know the result even
0:30 before I start but I still think it's
0:31 funny to try
0:34 I'm drawing the bass line for now I'm
0:36 trying without any glove to see if
0:38 having a glove on will change the result
0:40 you can see that I opted for an A4
0:42 format piece of paper instead of my
0:44 Sketchbook some of the gloves I'll use
0:46 are a bit big so I prefer to have more room
0:47 room
0:49 about now I should be starting with the
0:52 first glove of the bench I put the
0:54 gloves in order of increasing size and
0:56 thickness so the first one I'll use is a
0:59 latex glove this blue latex glove is
1:00 something people often use in chemistry
1:03 to do meticulous work so I should be
1:05 able to move freely with it there is a
1:07 catch though this glove is the wrong
1:10 size it's way too small for me I should
1:12 have gotten a large instead of a medium
1:14 size my fingers barely fit and there is
1:16 a webbing between them where there's not
1:18 enough material to follow the curves of
1:21 my hand in practice what that does is
1:22 make holding the pen more difficult
1:25 between my thumb and my index finger the
1:27 material is so tense the fountain pen
1:29 can't even rest against my hand it wants
1:31 to bounce back so I have to grab it with
1:32 more strength
1:34 this was supposed to be one of the
1:36 easiest gloves and yet I'm already
1:38 struggling it's at this point where I've
1:40 had enough and I switched the latex
1:42 glove for another one that I realize I
1:44 may have decided to draw a picture that
1:47 is too big if every glove feels like
1:49 this one to draw with it's gonna be hell
1:51 thankfully it's not the case with the
1:53 second glove this is my XP pen glove
1:56 that I use on my Graphics tablet I know
1:58 this one fits my hand well and it's made
2:01 to draw it feels good I'm so used to it
2:03 it's sick on nature at this point
2:05 the way drawing gloves are made they
2:06 allow your hand to rest on any surface
2:09 without contact with your skin in turn
2:12 the thumb index and major fingers are
2:13 left free to be able to grip the pen
2:16 naturally this is why only my last two
2:17 fingers are covered
2:19 it comes to no surprise that this is the
2:21 best glove to draw with if you clicked
2:23 on the video trying to figure out what
2:25 options you have in terms of drawing
2:27 gloves you can click away now it's only
2:29 gonna go downhill from there starting
2:31 with the third glove
2:33 this blue gray glove I'm now wearing is
2:35 certainly not something you would use to
2:37 draw with but hey maybe it has potential
2:39 there is no way I'm gonna smudge the
2:41 drawing considering my entire hand is
2:44 covered this glove is comfortable I
2:46 normally use it when I bike to work
2:48 during winter I've also used it for
2:50 Nordic skiing a couple times it's good
2:52 for both these uses because the part
2:54 between the thumb and the index is
2:56 rainfalls slightly so there is less
2:58 friction from The Handlebar of the bike
3:00 or the straps of the ski poles this
3:02 particular pair of gloves though are
3:05 pretty worn out so I don't use them much
3:07 you know what let's rate the gloves I've
3:09 been using the latex glove is probably a
3:11 4 out of 10 because it is too small and
3:13 I have just one with a pair of the right
3:16 size I would say probably 7 out of 10.
3:18 the drawing glove is an easy 9 out of
3:22 10. these biking gloves are 6 out of 10.
3:24 let's see what the next pair will do for us
3:25 us
3:27 this is a pair of brown leather gloves
3:29 these are for winter for sure although
3:31 their color goes well with an auton mood
3:34 I believe these were my grandfathers but
3:36 I'm not sure from the moment I put this
3:38 on I could tell they were way too big
3:40 for drawing with it's hard to hold the
3:43 pen and it feels strange the leather
3:44 grips the pen a little bit but you can
3:46 definitely feel that this grip is
3:49 different from skin grip the simple fact
3:51 that this pen is further away from both
3:53 fingers holding it makes it harder to be
3:54 precise with
3:57 during this entire video I made my best
3:58 effort to keep drawing the same pattern
4:01 with little to no changes and already
4:03 it's proving to be challenging when you
4:05 just look at the drawing it looks fine
4:07 but my concentration had to double to
4:10 keep the pace these are 5 out of 10.
4:12 simply because it was worse than the
4:14 last pair but I can definitely draw
4:16 longer with these than with the latex
4:18 glove if I have to
4:20 at this point in a drawing process I
4:22 definitely regret making a doodle this
4:25 large if I had my dubs before now I know
4:28 anyway let's move on to the next pair
4:31 it makes no sense I know but here is a
4:33 pair of Andy work gloves Ripper men's
4:36 gloves I'm not sure of the right term
4:38 could use these for construction work or
4:41 woodworking I haven't used this much I
4:42 used the left glove a bit more when I
4:44 make wood carvings and wood wiggling
4:46 just as a way to protect my fingers from
4:48 the blade of my carving knives it won't
4:51 stop a swooping cut but it will stop the
4:53 blade when it rips straight like you can
4:55 press with the edge of the blade but you
4:57 can't cut or else it doesn't protect you
5:00 for drawing purposes these gloves are
5:02 straighter bad they are basically the
5:04 same as the previous ones but with less
5:06 comfort you can't hold the pen properly
5:08 you're not really precise there is
5:11 absolutely no reason to use these four
5:14 out of 10 they could be worse
5:17 as an example of worst gloves these the
5:19 last on my list they're not even gloves
5:21 they're myths these are my snowboarding
5:24 mats they are very thick and not grippy
5:26 at all comfort wise they're there but
5:29 for drawing easy two out of 10. how am I
5:31 supposed to hold the pen with my index
5:33 when my index is stuck with the other
5:34 three fingers
5:36 even taking the cup of the pen off it
5:38 was hard
5:40 I do love these gloves though they are
5:41 very good when it comes to their
5:44 original purpose skiing they are warm
5:46 and comfortable they are large so my
5:48 fingers can be quite relaxed and tight
5:50 these are made with Gore-Tex material
5:53 which is designed to breathe out but not
5:55 in meaning my hands don't sweat too much
5:57 and yet the humidity doesn't seep in at all
5:58 all
6:00 I've always found myths more comfortable
6:03 than gloves for snowboarding most gloves
6:04 are thicker between the fingers where
6:07 the seams are it's also where they start
6:10 to let humidity in with mitts no seam no problem
6:11 problem
6:13 I've used this glove for two years now
6:15 and they are still pretty much in main
6:18 condition I paid like 85 Euros for them
6:20 so that's to be expected I don't regret
6:23 it they're worth it but again that's for
6:26 snowboarding for drawing they are
6:29 that's it I'm done I can't draw with
6:31 gloves on anymore this was a fun
6:32 challenge but the drawing is only half
6:35 done and my fingers hurt from trying to
6:37 grip and control the pen it's a bit
6:39 anticlimactic for the video but at least
6:42 now I can finish the doodle in peace all
6:44 the gloves shown today range between 2
6:46 out of 10 and 9 out of 10 for the
6:48 drawing glove and bare hands is
6:50 definitely a 10 out of 10. you can't
6:52 really get better than that I can apply
6:54 the slightest of pressures to the pen
6:57 and it will move in just the right way I
6:59 can feel the angle of the pen on the
7:01 Bristol paper even with my eyes closed
7:03 for the two pairs of leather gloves I
7:05 was afraid I would damage the nib of the
7:07 fountain pen since I had no idea how
7:09 much I was actually pressing the pen to
7:11 the paper the skank mid had better
7:13 feedback even though movement was worse
7:16 but hey at least now you know you don't
7:19 have to try for yourself no really don't
7:20 try for yourself
7:22 if you have to get a drawing glove I
7:25 heavily recommend the XP pen glove it's
7:27 thin and synthetic which feels really
7:29 good for using on a graphics tablet for
7:32 paper synthetic can still smudge pencil
7:35 kinda easily for pencil I mostly use
7:36 another drawing glove that is less
7:39 synthetic and more cotton however it's
7:41 kind of thick and less breathable so I
7:43 tend to sweat a little bit more
7:45 I think I've basically said all I can
7:47 about plots I don't think I've missed
7:49 anything but if you have any question
7:52 ask them in comments like the video if
7:54 you found this funny or useful or
7:56 satisfying to watch and of course
