0:02 all right time for you to confess which
0:04 one is it did you open up your laptop to
0:06 be productive but somehow ended up here
0:09 instead or are you supposed to be
0:11 studying but then you went on your phone
0:13 and now you're watching yet another
0:15 study tip video you know what I don't
0:18 blame you vestie everyone always says
0:20 have a good morning routine take breaks
0:22 don't highlight everything don't cram
0:26 last minute now are those good tips yes
0:27 but do they
0:30 work no if you clicked on this video you
0:32 see this is where most people
0:34 misunderstand being a good student isn't
0:37 just about having a planner having a
0:39 routine and having a fancy note-taking
0:41 method in this video bestie we are
0:44 covering study tips that actually make a
0:46 difference how to manipulate your time
0:48 so that you have more of it to study how
0:50 to eliminate procrastination before it
0:53 even starts how to stop wasting time on
0:54 tasks that don't actually improve your
0:56 grades and build the discipline that you
0:59 need to succeed but if you don't just
1:01 want to be a good student and you want
1:03 to be outstanding instead listen to the
1:06 last hit it might surprise you let's go
1:07 and thank you gram for sponsoring this
1:11 video first your study sessions need a
1:14 past fail condition when it comes to
1:17 studying your brain needs clear finished
1:20 lines not open-ended time blocks now
1:22 what do I mean by that so for example
1:24 you probably plan your study sessions
1:27 something like this I'll study biology
1:29 for 1 hour Revis physics chapter 7 for 2
1:32 hours hours and cry for 30 minutes and
1:34 let's just be honest with ourselves this
1:36 is what actually happens you spend the
1:38 first 10 minutes hyping yourself up and
1:40 figuring out where to start the next
1:42 hour just looking at the material and
1:44 then the last 15 minutes with one eye on
1:47 the clock waiting for it to be over
1:49 before you know it time is up but we
1:51 didn't actually get anything meaningful
1:53 or productive done because what does
1:56 revise chapter 7 even mean bestie does
1:58 it mean that you completed your notes
2:00 kind of understand the topic maybe you
2:02 can answer five objective questions or
2:05 can you answer two high order essay
2:08 responses because these are really
2:10 different versions of study chapter 7 if
2:13 we had an exam tomorrow we'll fail if we
2:16 did version one and two of study chapter
2:19 7 so your study sessions need a past
2:21 fail condition meaning your study
2:24 sessions should have a clear measurable
2:26 outcome either you completed it or you
2:28 didn't there's no in between so here are
2:30 some examples instead of of your goal
2:33 being I'll finish my notes make it I'll
2:35 complete my notes and be able to roughly
2:38 answer the learning objectives instead
2:40 of study chapter 7 it should be I'll
2:43 study chapter 7 until I can answer 10
2:46 objective questions correctly and here
2:48 are a few more examples feel free to
2:50 screenshot bestie it's actually really
2:51 easy to make your own objective
2:53 questions if you already have a
2:55 grammarly account just turn on the
2:56 extension highlight the topic that you
2:59 want to test yourself on then ask it to
3:01 give you questions you don't even need
3:03 to pay for this feature it's completely
3:05 free so if I answer all the questions
3:08 correctly then my study session can end
3:10 whether that took 1 hour or 4 hours this
3:13 is how I know for a fact that I have
3:15 studied chapter 7 and didn't just assume
3:18 that I did and that's how you truly have
3:20 a productive study session subscribe and
3:22 like this video if you're enjoying it so
3:25 far next recognize which tasks don't
3:28 actually improve your grade once you
3:31 notice this you really can't unnotice it
3:34 but there are actually so many necessary
3:36 study related tasks that don't actually
3:39 improve your grade at least not enough
3:42 to justify how much time they take here
3:44 are some common time draining tasks feel
3:46 free to screenshot so that you can refer
3:48 to it so I want you to keep in mind that
3:51 while these tasks are necessary they
3:53 shouldn't be taking up the majority of
3:55 your time whenever you realize you need
3:58 to get one of these things done ask
4:00 yourself is there a faster way to do
4:03 this that still gets the job done now
4:04 I'm going to speedrun a bunch of
4:06 different ways you can save your time so
4:09 don't blink why spend hours and hours
4:12 making notes when you can just buy them
4:14 this is coming from a chronic Note Taker
4:16 okay when you simply don't have enough
4:19 time aka me in University it's just
4:21 smarter to use the time that you have
4:24 left to actually learn the material
4:26 because when you tell yourself that you
4:29 learn better by making notes do you
4:31 actually or does it just force you to
4:33 organize your thoughts which can be done
4:36 with a mind map or rewrite information
4:37 which can be done by scribbling on a
4:39 rough sheet of paper remember in my
4:41 previous video where we talked about all
4:43 the secret ways to learn faster the
4:45 fastest way to learn is by linking
4:47 Concepts together and that is where your
4:49 time should go I'll link that specific
4:51 video here and in the description box
4:53 below now if you're a student and you
4:55 already have a grammarly account let me
4:57 rapid fire a bunch of different ways you
5:00 can save time by using your exist ing
5:02 subscription if you're wondering how I
5:04 score top essay marks like these in
5:07 University then one of my secret weapons
5:10 is asking grammarly to identify gaps in
5:12 my essay that's how you get feedback
5:14 like this if you think that citations
5:16 take up too much time then there is an
5:18 autoc citation tool that appears when
5:20 you have the extension installed these
5:22 are all free features as well most of
5:24 you already know that you can use AI to
5:26 crft things like emails maybe to a
5:28 professor and you're asking for an
5:29 extension but if you upgrade to
5:32 grammarly Pro you get access to tools
5:34 that can help you turn wordy sentences
5:36 into clear effective ones or even a
5:38 plagiarism tracker if your University is
5:40 really strict on that I actually did
5:42 create an entire downloadable document
5:45 that you can use that lists all my
5:47 favorite AI functions that Gram's AI
5:49 software offers just to make your life a
5:51 little bit easier this will actually
5:53 save you so much money because now you
5:55 only need one subscription instead of
5:57 multiple AI tools I'll also leave the
5:59 link to create a grammarly account in
6:01 the description box below that's
6:04 grammarly.com sfilms 01 and you'll get
6:06 20% off grammarly Pro using that same
6:09 link next how to stop
6:11 procrastinating personally I believe
6:13 that the key to overcoming
6:15 procrastination isn't chucking your
6:17 phone across the planet or waiting for
6:20 motivation to magically appear it's all
6:22 about making procrastination difficult
6:25 procrastination thrives in friction the
6:27 harder it feels to start the more likely
6:30 you are to put it off so for example
6:32 instead of giving yourself a 20 minute
6:34 break because let's be for real we'll
6:36 just scroll for 20 minutes and then
6:39 suddenly it becomes an hour so instead
6:41 of a magical 20 minute break try
6:43 watching one episode of a show or
6:46 reading a few chapters in a book why
6:47 because if you struggle with
6:49 procrastination your breaks should have
6:52 a clear end point that way you're not
6:54 relying on self-control to stop but The
6:57 Natural end of a task because we bestie
6:59 have no self-control and this is
7:01 important because when we actually
7:03 finish something whether that's an
7:05 episode a chapter or a walk you just get
7:08 a sense of completion and so you feel
7:10 refreshed and not restless and now
7:12 you're ready to start again another
7:15 procrastination tip that I love is that
7:17 you should always prepare for your next
7:19 task before you leave your desk so if
7:21 you know you're going to write an essay
7:24 later leave your document open on your
7:26 laptop or maybe you're studying a
7:28 different subject tomorrow lay out the
7:30 textbook and the notes that you need
7:32 that way when you start a new study
7:34 session you won't procrastinate or hang
7:37 around you can just sit down and start
7:39 next how to be more
7:42 disciplined here's the funny thing if
7:45 all you do is study and nothing else you
7:47 won't do as well in your academics as
7:50 you actually can listen closely because
7:52 this is coming from personal experience
7:54 bestie I want you to think about every
7:57 single outstanding student that you know
7:59 in real life the interesting thing is
8:02 they probably do other things as well
8:04 maybe it's music dance sports or all
8:07 three and yet they still score so well
8:09 in their exams and you might wonder to
8:12 yourself how when you're busy you're
8:14 forced to prioritize and cut
8:16 distractions think about it right if you
8:19 only have 2 hours to study every day
8:21 you'll probably make the most of it
8:23 because you don't have time to waste but
8:25 if your days are free you can just tell
8:27 yourself that I'll study tomorrow and
8:29 tomorrow and maybe tomorrow tomorrow
8:31 tomorrow if you want to be disciplined
8:33 you need to make yourself busy but there
8:37 is a smart way to do it pick one skill
8:39 and hone it it could be anything
8:42 photography baking art music public
8:44 speaking it doesn't matter what it is
8:47 what matters is how far you take it
8:49 let's just say you pick baking here's
8:52 how to take that further but what is the
8:55 point this is the point the skills these
8:58 experiences will teach you skills that
9:00 if you're a high school school student
9:01 you can include in your personal
9:04 statement when you apply to top
9:06 universities if you're a uni student
9:08 these are the things that you can talk
9:10 about in your scholarship application or
9:12 in your job interviews when they ask you
9:14 for experiences your strengths and your
9:17 weaknesses Beyond academics and plus
9:19 when you go on first dates this will
9:21 make you interesting having a Passion
9:23 outside of school teaches you way more
9:26 than just time management and when
9:28 you're disciplined in one area of your
9:31 life it spreads to other areas Thank Me
9:34 Later bestie next how to see Improvement
9:38 in your grades fast I need you to rewire
9:40 your brain a little bit okay always
9:44 remind yourself finish now improve later
9:46 let me explain the faster you finish
9:49 something the faster you know how to
9:51 improve because let's be real besty
9:53 perfectionism is just procrastination in
9:56 Disguise most of the time for example
9:58 take that practice test even if you're
10:00 not ready
10:02 now why on Earth should we do that yes
10:04 you won't be able to answer most of the
10:06 questions and yeah it's going to feel a
10:08 little painful but you see exactly what
10:11 gets tested how the exam is structured
10:14 and the level of difficulty of the exam
10:16 by your second try you'll know exactly
10:18 what to focus on and how thoroughly you
10:21 need to study your material or maybe you
10:22 just start panicking so hard and you
10:25 actually start studying properly win-win
10:27 either way finish now improve later
10:29 instead of spending hours memorizing
10:31 your notes tell yourself to summarize
10:34 the entire thing in 10 bullet points you
10:36 probably can't do it but you'll know
10:38 exactly what you can remember and what
10:39 you can't and which points are the
10:42 hardest to recall again finish now
10:44 improve later to train this habit just
10:46 take however long you think you need to
10:49 finish a task and just cut it in half so
10:50 if you think you need 3 hours to draft
10:52 your essay just cut it to 1 and 1 half
10:55 hours and force yourself to finish it if
10:57 your immediate reaction is to say I'm
10:59 not ready then that's perfect and
11:01 advertisement might play in the next few
11:03 seconds so if you would like to support
11:05 this Channel please do not skip the ad
11:07 thank you now I want you to listen to
11:08 this whole part if you don't just want
11:11 to be a good student but you want to be
11:14 outstanding here is my big sister advice
11:17 advice that I give all my juniors to set
11:19 them up for success in real life join
11:22 clubs and societies but not for the
11:24 reason that you think if you're watching
11:26 this you're either a teenager in high
11:28 school or a young adult in University
11:31 your experience during these years will
11:33 hone two skills that your academics will
11:36 never teach you emotional intelligence
11:39 and social awareness as I get older it
11:41 becomes more and more obvious that
11:44 opportunities and success don't go to
11:46 the smartest person in the room they go
11:49 to the most charismatic it's that person
11:51 who can get the interviewer to laugh or
11:53 to convince the cashier at the coffee
11:54 shop to give them a discount or even
11:57 lighten the mood of a team meeting with
11:59 just one comment and every single time
12:00 time the straight A students who spend
12:03 their whole lives in books end up really
12:05 confused and upset when they don't land
12:07 internships they don't get the best jobs
12:09 and they struggle to make connections
12:11 because at the end of the day it doesn't
12:14 matter what you know but who you know
12:15 and you need to make sure people not
12:18 only remember you but also like you so
12:21 you need to join clubs and Societies or
12:23 any team based activity not just to fill
12:25 out your resume but to learn how to
12:28 navigate the real world at the end of
12:30 the day anyone can score an A and yes
12:33 anyone can also be a people person but
12:34 it's really rare to be someone that
12:37 excels in both so promise me that you'll
12:39 become that person and I promise you
12:42 you'll become Unstoppable if you've made
12:44 it this far comment down below a sun
12:46 emoji if you prefer studying during the
12:49 day and a moon emoji if you prefer
12:51 studying at night remember to like this
