0:01 hey it's more and more and these are the
0:04 five songs that changed my life [Music]
0:12 roads by Portishead takes me back to a
0:14 time where I was taking road trips to
0:16 see my family and my eldest cousin
0:17 always had the greatest taste in music
0:19 and he introduced me to the dummy record
0:21 for the first time [Music]
0:22 [Music]
0:24 so the strip downness and the bareness
0:27 of the record really stood out to me and
0:28 I really fell in love with that sound
0:31 and then Beth Gibbons lyrics and both
0:32 their voices are really haunting so
0:35 that's an impactful song for me [Music]
0:38 [Music]
0:40 thank you [Music]
0:43 [Music]
0:46 NYC by Burial is one of my favorite
0:50 dance songs I often put it on when I
0:52 arrive at in New York City which is one
0:54 of my favorite cities in the world I've
0:56 been a long time fan of burial and I
0:59 feel like with NYC I've fallen in love
1:01 with that City so usually when I touch
1:02 down especially if it's an evening
1:04 flight that's one of the first songs
1:06 that I put on I think it's one of the
1:08 songs by him that are a little bit more
1:10 up-tempo and you can you can dance to
1:13 he's usually kind of doing the minimal
1:15 kind of I guess like lower BPM it was
1:18 kind of a new thing for him with him in
1:20 particular there's a lot of like
1:22 melancholic and introspective feeling in
1:25 his music so that's something that I
1:28 take away because it kind of matches my
1:39 is truly a special song it's something
1:41 that I put on
1:44 often and when I do it's something that
1:45 I have to have on repeat because that of
1:52 I think out of the selection that I
1:55 chose that song is a little bit more
1:57 upbeat and delightful and I feel like
2:00 I'm a like Melody junkie and anytime I
2:02 listen to that song I have to listen to
2:04 it more than once I think the lyrics are
2:07 impeccable I love the message it's
2:10 something that I think really resonates
2:12 with today and the idea of just like
2:14 it's love it's life it's yours it's mine
2:16 it's free like it's such a good chorus
2:24 [Music]
2:28 everything must change by Nina Simone is
2:29 truly one of my favorite songs [Music]
2:32 [Music]
2:35 whenever I'm in the house alone I feel
2:36 like it's one of the first songs that I
2:39 gravitate towards in the evenings and
2:42 it's just yeah something special it's
2:44 very stripped down I prefer her version
2:47 to the Quincy Jones version which is the
2:49 original I feel like anytime she's
2:52 covering something she just claims it as
2:54 her own it becomes her song I also do
2:57 think she's the goat I find that her
2:59 voice and instrumentation like though
3:00 people know her I feel like she'll
3:03 forever honestly be like underrated it's
3:06 just vocals and piano and strings and
3:17 Army Of Me by Bjork is the first track
3:19 on her album post it's truly such an
3:21 infectious song it's an energetic song
3:23 it's something whenever I feel down I
3:26 put on and it gets me going [Music]
3:29 [Music]
3:31 Bjork in particular I just find that
3:34 she's such an inspiration because she
3:36 really has done it her on her terms for
3:38 so long it's infectious it's it's
3:40 energetic without feeling violent if
3:42 that makes sense I think you can break
3:45 all barriers and bring change to your situation
