0:02 This is another one of my favorite like
0:03 I love the Bible. I can't believe how it
0:05 all fits together. So here here here's
0:06 what's awesome here. Okay, so you go
0:07 back to the garden and what do they
0:09 lose? What what they lose in the garden
0:10 is access to the face of the father. In
0:12 the garden they walk with him as in the
0:13 cool of the day side by side as a
0:15 friend. We lose the face of the father
0:16 because sin separates. Okay, so then you
0:18 fast forward to Moses. This is going to
0:19 be really important. It's all going to
0:21 tie together. Moses, the Bible says, is
0:22 the only guy who talked face to face
0:24 with God, quote, as with a friend. But
0:26 we know that language is mitigated
0:28 because Moses actually has this moment
0:30 where he's like with God, he just almost
0:32 like blurts out like, "Show me your
0:34 glory." And you guys remember what God
0:35 says to him. He's like, "Man, there's a
0:37 lot of things I can do for you, Mo.
0:39 There's one thing I can do. I can't show
0:42 you my face." And he says, "Because no
0:45 man shall see my face and live." And
0:46 it's one of my favorite passages of the
0:47 whole Old Testament. If you remember
0:49 what he does, that's when God takes
0:51 Moses and he put sticks him literally in
0:54 his hand, puts him in a cle in the cleft
0:57 of a rock, covers him with his hand. The
0:59 Hebrew literally says that God turns his
1:02 back to Moses and causes his quote hind
1:05 parts to pass in front of Moses and then
1:06 instead of showing him his face, he
1:10 declares verbally his glory. Moses who
1:12 the Bible says it prophesies forward
1:15 about Jesus. It says some when Moses
1:18 dies, it's prophesied someday there will
1:22 come again a prophet like me, Moses says
1:25 who speaks with God face to face as a
1:27 man with a friend. But remember, Moses
1:29 was not allowed two things in his life.
1:32 He was not allowed to see God's face and
1:34 because of Moses disobedience, he struck
1:36 the rock instead of speaking to it.
1:38 Moses was never allowed to enter into
1:41 the promised land. All right. Now, I
1:43 love this so much. So then you fast
1:45 forward to John chapter 1 and the Bible
1:48 literally says right here it says man
1:49 then the word became flesh and then it
1:52 says we have seen his glory glory as of
1:55 the only son from the father. So Jesus
1:57 is the glory of God. In fact if you go
2:00 back to the ten commandments the second
2:02 commandment is don't make any graven
2:04 images don't make any images of me. The
2:06 reason that God commanded don't make any
2:07 images of me is he was saying don't make
2:09 any images because someday I'm going to
2:11 send one. When people are looking at the
2:13 face of Jesus, they are looking at the
2:14 face of God. Okay, bro. This is where it
2:16 gets pretty amazing. So then you fast
2:20 forward to the transfiguration.
2:22 All right. So Jesus goes up on the
2:23 mountain. He brings three dudes with
2:25 him. Peter, James, and John. What they
2:28 record is they see Jesus face quote
2:31 transformed like lightning. And they see
2:33 the glory of God in the face of Jesus
2:36 Jesus Christ. And then two dudes appear
2:38 on the top of the mountain. By the way,
2:40 the mountain was Mount Hermon, which is
2:43 inside the promised land. The two dudes
2:47 who see the glory of God in the face of
2:50 Jesus Christ are Moses and Elijah. >> Yeah.
2:51 >> Yeah.
2:54 >> And so, thousands of years later after
2:56 Moses was denied two things. Moses, I'm
2:58 real sorry. You can't see my face and
3:00 you can't go into the promised land. And
3:02 then in Jesus, Moses is on that mountain
3:04 and he's two things. He's seeing the
3:06 face of God in the glory of Jesus
3:09 Christ. And guess where he is? He's in
3:11 the promised land.
3:12 >> Come on, man. >> Well,
3:12 >> Well,
3:13 >> oh, man.
