0:14 and foremost I have to thank my Lord and
0:16 Savior Jesus Christ for blessing me with
0:18 the talents to play this
0:21 game with the family um to support me
0:24 day in day out
0:27 um I'm his humble servant right now and um
0:28 um
0:32 I it is I can't say it enough how
0:34 important you know my faith is to to how
0:39 how I play the game and who I am so um
0:40 I'm just I'm just blessed and I'm I'm
0:44 I'm thankful for for where I am
0:47 um I love playing basketball I mean
0:48 there's no doubt about it this something
0:51 I've been doing since I was what Mom and
0:54 Dad two with Fisher Price goals I
0:57 mean um my grandma's here she we were
1:00 talking about it yesterday um she used
1:02 to be my commentator she used to be Bob
1:06 Fitzgerald for me um counting down the
1:08 scores I hit a game-winning shot or
1:10 whatever and I'd stumble over and give
1:12 her a high five and stuff like that so
1:15 um from that beginning to to be standing
1:17 here in front of you today it's an
1:19 incredible journey um a lot has gone
1:20 into it a lot of great people that I've
1:22 met along the
1:26 way that have every bit of you know to
1:29 do with that trophy um as I do and I'm
1:32 going to try to get through uh obviously
1:35 people that are here and um people that
1:37 are watching that have been extremely
1:40 significant in in my journey um but if
1:42 obviously I don't get to and you had a
1:45 part in it um you know please understand
1:48 that um this this hasn't sunk in at all
1:52 um I'm I'm on Cloud9 for sure obviously
1:54 we're in the middle of a playoff run and
1:56 and that's the most important thing uh
1:58 but today is a celebration for sure and
2:00 want to be able to take the time to
2:02 really appreciate what what this means
2:06 and um and that's why we're here
2:09 so I'll try to explain how I feel the
2:13 best I can but uh just bear with me um I
2:14 got to start with my wife
2:22 um uh we met when we were 14 15 years
2:29 Carolina and the last seven eight years
2:30 have been
2:34 amazing uh we've both grown into adults
2:37 we've uh you moved cross country
2:41 together started a new life and you're
2:43 my backbone you allowed me to to do what
2:47 I do um to focus on basketball and my
2:49 career um and still you know have a
2:52 family that's the sacrifices you make
2:56 are unbelievable and uh I can't thank
2:58 you enough for who you are as a person
2:59 how you challenged me how you inspir me
3:01 every every single day we have a
3:04 beautiful daughter one on the way um
3:06 she's over there smiling at
3:09 me um
3:11 just I love you so much and I can't
3:13 thank you enough for just being there
3:15 for me you know day in day out whether I
3:18 have a good game a bad game we lose we
3:21 win um when I go home things are good
3:24 and and that that's comforting to know
3:27 and um I just want to say thank you from
3:29 the bottom of my heart uh for everything
3:30 you've done for me and you deserve a
3:42 sure Mom Dad uh they did a great job of
3:44 explaining it so far but I think it
3:47 can't be understated how much my brother
3:49 and I and my
3:52 sister appreciate just who you are um
3:56 you're the example for us you handled a
4:00 16-year NBA career and had us three and
4:03 um you raised us the right way mom you
4:07 are our our spiritual guidance our our
4:09 disciplinarian at times CU you were
4:11 around when pops is away obviously if if
4:13 we were in real trouble he'd come home
4:17 with and uh and take care of business but
4:19 but
4:23 um just the way that you you know raised
4:27 us um not taking any slack obviously we
4:29 knew that Sports was important to us in
4:31 our family but there are priorities in
4:34 life obviously your faith is is is first and
4:35 and
4:38 foremost um you how we did in school
4:40 growing up was important if we didn't
4:41 handle that business then there were no
4:44 no privileges we I remember sitting out
4:46 my first Middle School game cuz I didn't
4:48 handle my stuff at home that's a pretty
4:50 embarrassing moment if you go to you
4:53 know to your first Middle School game
4:54 and you have to tell your your team hey
4:56 fellas I can't play tonight I didn't do
4:59 the dishes at home and they're like what
5:03 what you so just that that lesson taught
5:04 me there's more there's more to life
5:07 than basketball
5:09 there's obviously the most important
5:11 thing is is your family and taking care
5:13 of each other um loving each other no
5:15 matter what and I in regardless if I
5:16 would have played basketball or not I
5:18 know you guys love me without a shadow
5:19 of a doubt you would have encourag me in
5:22 any part of life that I or any path that
5:25 I take I would have taken so just thank
5:27 you so much and Pops you're the example
5:29 of what a true professional is on and
5:31 off the court
5:35 you I I remember a lot of your career um
5:43 footsteps it uh it means a lot to
5:47 me this is special um I'm really proud
5:49 of you know what you were able to do in
5:54 and um I don't take that for granted at
5:57 all a lot of people um thought I had it
6:00 easy with the pops playing you know in
6:01 the NBA
6:04 but it was uh it was I'll get to that
6:05 part down the road but it was an
6:07 interesting journey and um just who you
6:09 are you you made it okay for me to have
6:11 a family my age when I when I started it
6:15 and to know that um you take care of
6:16 your business you know you you you'll be
6:18 all right so so thank you so
6:22 much oh man
6:26 tissues uh my brother Seth is here um
6:29 I'm proud of you man we uh we had some
6:31 was growing up there a you know you
6:32 challenge me every single day when we
6:34 play one-on-one in the
6:38 backyard um I always joke our games
6:40 would go on all night and it would
6:42 usually end for two reasons or one of
6:44 two reasons one my mom would come in and
6:47 say we were disturbing the neighbors cuz
6:48 it was too late and the boun the
6:49 bounceing ball they were maybe call over
6:52 and tell them there a shut up over there
6:55 uh or two you get mad cuz I was beating
6:58 you and you say you say I was cheating
7:01 cuz I wouldn't give you a foul call and
7:03 you take the ball and run in until I
7:04 said all right you can have that foul
7:06 check up at the top of the
7:08 key so those those battles I'll never
7:11 forget um it was it was a lot of fun
7:14 just seeing you how you grown um and
7:17 following your career um you know it's
7:20 not easy having an older brother U
7:21 that's playing in the NBA and obviously
7:23 a dad that's done it before both of us
7:25 and the way that you're handling it is
7:27 is impressive and you know the sky is a
7:29 limit for you keep doing what you're
7:32 doing and um you keep making the family
7:35 proud uh
7:39 sadell just oh man the stories I could
7:41 tell about us growing up you made me
7:43 watch all sorts of crazy
7:45 movies stuff that I should not know line
7:52 for line um but just uh really proud of
7:55 you and the decisions you made growing
7:59 up um it it's it's it's it's amazing to
8:02 see and I love being able to just call
8:06 you joking last night about what song is
8:08 from what movie and kind of playing that
8:09 game and just the stuff that never gets
8:11 old is is really important to me no
8:14 matter what happens in life so um I love
8:16 that being the most consistent part of
8:18 of our relationship and and uh I'm
8:20 really proud of you as
8:22 well I keep looking at my notes making
8:23 sure I don't forget
8:26 anybody grandma candy I'm I'll always be
8:27 your number
8:30 one no forget that
8:32 that
8:35 um I got a grandma grandma ducky who's
8:37 probably watching at home right now um
8:41 my dad's mom who it's the afternoon
8:42 probably East Coast time she's probably
8:44 flipping back and forth between this and
8:47 the Braves game to uh check the score
8:49 cuz she never misses a game but I know
8:50 she's watching and just want to say I
8:53 love you Grandma I know granddaddy Jack
8:55 is looking down on us and is is
8:57 extremely proud of of our family and
8:59 where we are um and that that means a
9:02 lot to me so I hope you're proud as well
9:07 you your
9:16 um man we uh we've been through a lot in
9:18 the last what seven eight years since
9:21 since our freshman year at Davidson um
9:23 you're like you know another brother to
9:27 me uh my best friend who challenges me
9:29 spiritually challenges me as a man um
9:31 and it also encourages me and supports
9:33 me in everything that I do um and I
9:36 really appreciate that um you know from
9:38 the first time we stepped foot on
9:40 Davidson's campus we had a little
9:43 shootout and whoever made the half court
9:44 shot didn't have to pay for dinner at
9:47 the local pizza joint obviously he won
9:49 so we get in the car and go down to the
9:51 pizza spot and order you know a bunch of
9:53 food and I pull the old I forgot my
9:55 wallet trick cuz I obviously I lost my
9:57 wallet on the way from the gym to the to
10:00 the pizza spot so uh the next meal is on
10:01 me my
10:05 man we've come a long way um just just
10:07 thank you for being there um really
10:09 proud of you and
10:13 um you know just the story that that
10:15 we've been a part of is is amazing it's
10:16 something that we'll we'll always have
10:19 with us and nobody can take it away from
10:22 us um I've had a lot of coaches that
10:24 have helped me along the way obviously
10:27 coach Curry you you're you're very
10:29 humble the way that you've uh approached
10:31 roached this season
10:33 um we obviously had a great talented
10:35 roster um but there's definitely
10:37 something to say about what you and your
10:39 staff have been able to accomplish and
10:43 lead in our group this is a special year
10:45 um the way you've challenged us from day
10:47 one to take advantage of the opportunity
10:49 that was in front of us uh we're still
10:51 obviously in the middle of this this
10:54 this path and this fight but um I I'll
10:57 speak for my team but I've enjoyed this
11:00 year more than any other and uh
11:01 obviously winning has a lot to do with
11:03 that but the preparation that you guys
11:06 have brought every single day um not
11:07 letting us get complacent but not
11:09 letting us get too big of AE about who
11:12 we are as a team uh goes a long way and
11:14 I think you're a huge reason of why we
11:17 are here today so thank you very much um
11:19 you know for being you and and putting
11:21 together this great staff that's sitting
11:24 over here right here I could go through
11:27 every single guy uh I know um there's a
11:29 huge reason why we are successful so
11:32 thank you very much to everybody um that
11:33 we see day in day out
11:35 out
11:38 um Coach Brown who's my high school
11:39 coach back in Charlotte I know he's
11:40 watching thank you for your
11:43 encouragement every single day um you
11:47 got me started and uh I appreciate you
11:51 and coach mckb from Davidson
11:54 um man he he's a big reason why I have
11:56 the confidence that I do why I have the
11:59 spirit about basketball and life
12:02 and it it's it's special to know that I
12:05 can represent you know the Davidson
12:07 basketball program up here today on this
12:09 Podium um it's a it's a great day to be
12:14 a wildcat um you know I hope everybody
12:17 is proud at home and I'll be forever
12:19 living the the TCC principal trust
12:21 commitment care that you taught me from
12:23 day one um and everything that I do so
12:26 thank you so much um for your guidance
12:28 and your your you're challenging me
12:30 every day and and for my first workout
12:33 waving that white flag asking me if I
12:36 wanted to surrender um I looked you in
12:37 your face I said no I'm going keep
12:39 fighting and I've been rolling ever
12:41 since so thank you very

12:55 office everybody that works upstairs um
12:57 in the offices we we play for a first
12:59 class organization
13:03 and you you have to appreciate that um
13:06 there's I love coming to work every day
13:08 because of how you treat us um what
13:10 you've done to change the culture around
13:13 here and just your leadership so thank
13:15 you very much for all your hard work um
13:18 the decisions you've made along the way
13:20 obviously we we got an award another
13:21 award the executive of the year we
13:24 should have had two more um with the
13:26 coach of the year and and obviously
13:27 Draymond defensive player of the year
13:30 but I mean just the the way that we
13:32 represented Across the Nation now and
13:35 across the world is uh everybody has a
13:37 hand in it and you guys are leading that
13:39 charge so thank you very much um love
13:41 playing for you
13:44 guys uh I got to talk about this guy
13:47 right quick Eric Howen who's in the
13:50 back he's going to be real
13:52 embarrassed we we got the best equipment
13:54 manager in the league I think these guys
14:03 you probably have a you probably have a
14:06 more official title than that but uh the
14:08 the work you do day and day out taking
14:09 care of us players sometimes we're a
14:12 little needy sometimes uh we might need
14:14 an extra pair of socks and it's our
14:17 fault that we lost them um but we
14:20 appreciate everything that you do
14:23 um walking in the locker room I see a
14:24 new pair of shoes sitting in front of me
14:27 with a sharpie in there laced up um
14:29 those little things mean a lot you just
14:31 you start your game day routine there's
14:32 little things that you might take for
14:34 granted day in day out but I want you to
14:35 know we appreciate everything that you
14:38 do so uh I know you're proud to be still
14:40 a part of this organiz organization
14:42 you've been here probably the longest so
14:56 sure uh Larry Riley is here who is where
14:58 are you Larry are you here he's the
15:03 reason I'm here uh he drafted me um you
15:06 know he he saw potential in me coming
15:08 out of college along with Don Nelson
15:10 obviously making those decisions you a
15:12 big reason why I'm here taking a chance
15:15 on a scrawny little kid from a you know
15:19 a mid- major school so just want to say
15:21 thank you for believing in me um crazy
15:24 how far we' come in six years but just
15:25 just thank you man I can't thank you
15:27 enough for that that
15:29 decision uh and all the rest of the
15:31 warrior staff you know Dan Martinez
15:33 Raymond Ritter who we we see every day I
15:37 see Lisa over there um Brett Matt all
15:39 you guys that uh you know handle our
15:42 Affairs on and off the court um you make
15:44 us look good and we thank you for all
15:46 the work that you do to put us out there
15:48 get our stories out there allow us to
15:51 help in the community um all that it
15:54 means a lot and uh you know the work
15:56 that we've been able to do and
15:59 just spreading across dub it's it's
16:02 amazing so thank you guys uh for being
16:05 there speaking of dub Nation we got say
16:06 it all the time we got the best fans in
16:18 um speaking of the year I was drafted we
16:22 were awful we were awful we we won I
16:26 think 23 games my rookie year
16:29 and years after that and finally cracked
16:32 the ceiling and and made the playoffs
16:34 and you you walked in our Arena back in
16:37 what 09 and even before that and you
16:38 wouldn't know that this was a losing
16:41 team that that you know was well outside
16:43 the playoff chase by the way that the
16:44 energy in the arena was every single
16:48 night so um thank you guys for the
16:50 support every single night for making us
16:52 having the the best home court advantage
16:53 um we're going to need you tomorrow
16:56 night as well uh to bring that Spirit we
16:57 love playing for you guys and we want to
16:59 make you guys proud um by bringing home
17:01 a championship and that's that's the
17:03 ultimate goal this is a minor checkpoint
17:06 on that mission so um you know we're
17:08 going to make a make a strong push at
17:10 this thing and uh protect Warriors
17:24 do where's Ralph Walker at there we go

17:38 a lot of you the last three years uh you
17:40 at every event uh every practice every
17:43 game you you're our eyes when we when we
17:45 don't have them um and we appreciate you

17:50 any anytime we need you um being there
17:52 for us so we appreciate you know
17:54 everything that you've done and I like
18:04 and lastly people that are here uh my
18:05 team at octagon
18:08 um know I I got the strongest team
18:09 behind me and I appreciate you know you
18:11 guys and being there from day
18:15 one it's crazy uh Jeff me in
18:17 particular you imagine this [Music]

18:21 man you were there when my dad was
18:24 playing and uh I came under the umbrella
18:27 and and uh represent me well and I
18:28 appreciate everything that you done and
18:30 your whole team thank you very much
18:33 much
18:36 um so that's that's all the people in
18:38 particular but you know when I found out
18:42 that I had won MVP
18:44 yesterday I really didn't didn't know
18:47 what to do um we left the game My we
18:48 were going back to the house and I have
18:51 a bunch of family in town and um they
18:53 were being really weird from the time we
18:56 I got out the car like asking me weird
18:57 questions pulling me off to different
19:00 areas of the house was and I I couldn't
19:02 really figure it out um and then my
19:04 brother comes he's like hey you I you
19:05 check some out in your closet can you
19:06 show me some shoes and I'm like all
19:09 right cool so we walk in the back and
19:11 there my whole family are with this with
19:13 the shirts on uh that my team and Under
19:16 Armour made and I couldn't really read
19:18 what it said at first and they all walk
19:21 in and I they have their cameras out and
19:22 they're just with the cheesiest Smiles
19:25 you could ever imagine like
19:28 just with their phones and I'm like I'm
19:30 looking at Seth I'm looking at everybody
19:33 like what's going on like I got some on
19:34 my shirt or I don't know what's going on
19:37 so I look and my my sister kind of
19:40 points down I'm like looking and um they
19:42 all had basically how they related to me
19:44 my my hus my husband is
19:47 sc30 and at the bottom and yellow font
19:49 it said MVP and I couldn't read it at
19:52 first I kind of take a a further glance
19:55 I'm like wait what like for for real I
19:57 just break down crying and hugging and
19:59 it was it was a great moment that I'll
20:02 remember for the rest of my life um but
20:04 after that I I kind of just went and sat
20:06 in the chair in the corner and just kind
20:09 of thought about the journey um it was
20:11 an emotional 10 minutes you know just
20:12 sitting there thinking about all the
20:16 people that have helped me along the way
20:20 um and every little part of of of the
20:24 story that made a difference in my life
20:26 and there are obviously good times and
20:29 bad times um um times I wanted to to
20:32 shut it down and and times where you
20:34 realize that all the hard work that you
20:36 put into it was was worth
20:39 it and it just made me realize how
20:41 blessed and grateful I really am to be
20:43 in this position um on this platform to
20:45 be able to impact so many people across
20:48 the world by just you know trying to be
20:50 myself and my wife and I were sitting
20:51 trying to think about what I was going
20:53 to say today and kind of what the
20:56 message would be and we came up with
21:02 describe the journey the best way I know
21:06 how and that's Faith passion drive and
21:09 will um and I'll try to explain the best
21:11 way I can you guys will be a part of of
21:13 one of
21:15 those obviously my faith is I want to
21:17 use this opportunity
21:20 to you know shed light on on who I am
21:23 and and what drives me to play the way
21:25 that I do
21:27 um I do a little sign on the court every
21:29 time I make a shot I make a good pass
21:30 and I pound my chest and point to the
21:32 sky and that symbolizes that I have a
21:35 heart for god um something that my mom
21:38 and I came up with in college and and I
21:40 do it every time I step on the floor as
21:44 a reminder of of who I'm playing for and
21:46 people should know who I represent and
21:48 and and why I am who I am and that's
21:51 because of my Lord and Savior so I can't
21:55 say that enough um the passion part is
21:57 is where my love for the game was bred and
21:59 and
22:01 I kind of got a ultimate Paradox for a
22:04 story I'm the son of a 16-year NBA
22:07 veteran um I remember a lot of his
22:09 career I was blessed to have a family
22:10 that we we never really struggled when I
22:13 was growing up thanks to my dad and his
22:15 career um you know we had the means to
22:18 do a lot growing up but you would think
22:20 that my future was set based on that
22:23 fact and that couldn't be farther from
22:25 the truth um I was always the smallest
22:27 kid of my my team when it comes to
22:28 basketball I was always the smallest kid
22:29 on my
22:33 team I had a terrible ugly catapult shot
22:35 from uh time I was 14 cuz I wasn't
22:37 strong enough to shoot over my head and
22:39 I had to re reconstruct that over a
22:40 summer and it was the worst three months
22:43 of My Life
22:46 um you think there were no hurdles or or
22:48 obstacles that I had to overcome but
22:55 um even when I got to high school I
22:57 wasn't ranked that's know I wasn't
22:59 ranked I wasn't highly touted as a high
23:02 school Prospect I would had nobody
23:03 really running knocking on my door
23:05 saying please please please come play
23:07 for our school until Coach mckb called
23:09 and um you know everything happens for a
23:12 reason and there's there's a story to to
23:15 everything and and if you take time to
23:18 realize you know what what your dream
23:20 is and and what you really want in life
23:22 no matter what it is whether it's Sports
23:24 whether it's in other fields
23:26 um you have to realize that there's
23:29 always work to do and you want to be the
23:31 hardest working person in whatever you
23:32 do and you'll put yourself in position
23:34 to be successful um and you have to have
23:36 a passion about what you do and
23:38 basketball was mine and that's what's
23:41 carried me to this point
23:45 um part of that passion is is the drive
23:47 to to keep pushing on and that's with
23:50 who you're surrounded
23:53 by these 14 guys sitting on the stage
23:55 right here um you guys push me every single
23:56 single
23:59 day um I'm I'm going to go through kind
24:00 of just talk about you individually
24:02 because you need to be highlighted as a
24:05 part of this process as a part of the
24:08 team that we've built um and a reason
24:09 why this trophy sitting here and
24:11 hopefully another trophy will be sitting
24:14 here in in a couple months um lb the Brazilian
24:19 blur just seeing how fast you are right
24:21 now I mean I can imagine when you were
24:23 playing with that other MVP back in the
24:26 day um you know you your spirit in the
24:29 locker room you're the funniest dude on this
24:30 this
24:32 team maybe arguably but you're you're up
24:35 there you uh you just you bring it every
24:37 single day man whether you whether
24:38 you're playing 20 minutes playing five
24:40 minutes whatever you're called on to do
24:42 you're an ultimate professional and that
24:46 goes a long way um you you I respect you
24:47 so much for how you've handled this
24:49 season and uh just thank you for being
24:53 who you are that's dot man your journey
24:55 is crazy I mean everybody knows about
24:57 how where you've been and and the fight
25:00 that that you've had um and I love
25:02 playing with you cuz
25:04 you you're low maintenance you don't
25:06 need it you just go out there and hoop
25:09 and you you you do what you do and we
25:11 can count on you every single night to
25:15 be ready to play um and and and help us
25:18 win games and a lot of times it might
25:20 not show up you know I poping numbers on
25:22 the stat sheet but you help us win games
25:24 every single night man and a big part of
25:27 why we why we are who we are be rush I
25:35 TV you
25:37 uh you it's your second second go around
25:41 with the warriors uh and and obviously
25:42 it's a little different than the last
25:46 time you were here but um you're also
25:49 the the guy that when we come in every
25:51 single day whether it's practice whether
25:52 it's games I know you're locked in and
25:55 ready to go and I know it's been tough
25:57 um you know Finding Your Niche with with
25:59 with this group but your personality and
26:02 the way that you play um and the way
26:04 that you push us in practice gets us
26:06 ready and there's going to be probably
26:08 an opportunity for you to help us down
26:09 the road and and we we're going to need
26:12 you and um just the way that you handle
26:13 that situation is very impressive and
26:15 and I appreciate that I know the other
26:20 guys do as well speed mo Spates Mo
26:23 buckets man your spirit on the court is
26:26 is is contagious man you just have fun
26:28 playing the game you biggest shooting
26:37 league and you wear the lowest low tops
26:39 on the team so it's it's like the
26:42 biggest it's the I'm confused when I
26:45 watch you play but I know when I come up
26:46 a pick and roll you going to knock down
26:48 that shot you going to get the crowd
26:51 hype talk to the other team you just
26:52 going to enjoy playing basketball and
26:53 what that means and that competitive
26:56 nature about you ESP special man so uh
26:59 keep doing what you're doing Dre

27:05 um we probably talk about golf more than
27:06 we talk about
27:11 basketball but the the conversation we
27:14 had two years ago um at Oracle Arena at
27:16 half court I remember
27:20 that um man I'm about to cry on that
27:22 one that meant a lot to me because
27:23 basketball's important to me but my
27:26 family and my faith are 10 times more
27:28 important to me and you recog that and
27:31 the what you said on the court um I'll
27:33 never forget that and obviously the
27:36 decision after that summer was was big but
27:38 but
27:42 um man that meant a lot to me um and I
27:44 just want to say thank you for that um I
27:46 appreciate who who you are as a player
27:49 and as a person um we have some crazy
27:51 conversations when you're in the locker
27:52 room but [Laughter]

27:58 um but uh you're the ultimate vet
28:01 ultimate professional and uh man I appreciate
28:02 appreciate
28:06 you swag zely
28:11 uh you are uh man know was a rough year
28:13 last year but you come back strong man
28:15 you always have that determination and
28:16 that drive that you can go out there and
28:18 do anything on the court my favorite
28:20 part about festes is when I come off a
28:22 pick and roll and sometimes they'll trap
28:24 me or double team me and I don't throw
28:27 him the ball he gets so mad at me cuz he
28:29 wants that ball in that paint he wants a
28:31 drop step and get to his his left

29:33 lead by example and try to be as
29:34 consistent as possible but your voice
29:37 and your spirit um every single day
29:38 whether it's going well whether you're
29:40 making shots missing shots it doesn't
29:42 matter you're the you're the same person
29:44 and we can count on that every single
29:46 night and that what's what makes you who
29:49 you are um is a part of you your story
29:50 and your
29:52 journey um our text M conversation last
29:55 night just put it in perspective just
29:57 how crazy this whole situation is man
30:08 uho not many people knew what I was
30:13 that go on to this

30:27 man from day one
30:30 you're my locker mate you always to my
30:34 right U you just seeing you kind of
30:37 mature into your game you're obviously
30:38 crazy Young when you came in the league
30:41 out of Carolina but um I remember the
30:44 first time I met you um was at Chris
30:49 Paul's camp in Wake Forest we went and
30:52 you you were looking for a foam roller
30:54 out of a trunk of some car cuz you want
30:56 to take care of your body I'm like I've
30:57 never seen a high school player actually
31:00 want to foam roll or stretch or do any
31:02 of that this guy was like not going to
31:04 go on the court unless he found that
31:06 foam roll to take back to the
31:09 hotel and things don't change
31:14 bro you are wise beyond your years um
31:15 um
31:18 and a huge Catalyst for our success the
31:20 last three years um what you did your
31:23 your rookie year in the playoffs um and
31:24 just getting better and better every
31:27 single year has been huge for us and um
31:30 you got my vote when you run for uh
31:33 whatever office after you're uh after
31:34 you're done playing you got you can
31:36 probably ask the mayor of Oakland right
31:38 there for some advice but I you got my
31:39 vote for
31:43 sure just just holla Justin holiday um
31:45 this our first year
31:47 together but your story and how you've
31:50 had to fight uh to make a team and and
31:52 to establish yourself as NBA players is
31:55 amazing and uh your confidence when you
31:56 get on the floor you want to make plays
31:58 you want to do do you know your best
32:02 every single night um and that's
32:06 inspiring for sure um you know you've
32:08 you've been there a huge presence for us
32:13 all year and I know that um this has
32:15 been a great year for you and we want to
32:17 capitalize on it and and I want to see
32:19 you do some great things so keep working
32:22 keep doing what you're doing um you're a
32:24 special player that deserves to be on
32:26 this level and um I'm just proud of the
32:27 way that you done done what you be able
32:30 to do my Splash

32:38 um man you're the quietest guy you're
32:40 actually lot lot better than you used to
32:44 be but you um definitely a quiet guy
32:46 that every year I've got to know you so
32:49 much better and just seeing how much
32:52 time you put into the game um how
32:55 you attacked your NBA career to the
32:58 fullest um
33:00 our time this past summer with Team USA
33:02 was was something I'll never forget um
33:04 it was a great experience I think it
33:05 took our relationship to a whole new
33:08 level um I know we don't get to hang out
33:11 much outside of outside the practice and
33:14 games but you got your dog I got my
33:15 family and all that stuff [Laughter]

33:21 but when I get on the floor and I see
33:24 number 11 suited up with me I feel good
33:25 about our success and our chances to win
33:28 a game cuz I know that you can go off a
33:31 37 and a quarter you can lock up any you
33:34 know guard or Wing in this league and
33:36 you make my job easy when I come on the
33:38 floor and I see you on the other Wing
33:39 just get you the ball cuz I know it's
33:41 going up and and most the time it's
33:44 going in so um I know hopefully we have
33:47 a long future together man and we can do
33:49 some special things and you know
33:51 hopefully be the best back court to ever
33:53 play this game and and that's something
33:55 that uh is our mission and we should
33:56 challenge each other every single day in
33:59 that regard and and make it happen
34:02 happen
34:05 AB bog Andrew bogot he's our he's our
34:07 eracer man
34:11 um when he first got traded uh to our
34:14 team uh I was hurt and he was
34:16 hurt and the team went on a road trip
34:18 and we were left behind for treatment
34:21 and I took him picked him up at the
34:23 hotel and we got in my car and drove to
34:24 my apartment in San Francisco it's
34:27 little small two-bedroom spot
34:29 and I was kind of nervous to show him my
34:31 spot cuz it's basically you're not going
34:32 in my bedroom so we're just going to go
34:34 in that one little sitting area and he's
34:37 7 foot2 and I had the smallest couch so
34:38 he's sitting with basically his knees in
34:41 his throat watching the uh watching the
34:44 game but ever since then um I've seen
34:46 how much the basketball means to you how
34:49 hard you work through injuries through
34:51 uh ups and downs
34:53 to get ready for big moments and I know
34:55 this is a big year for you being healthy
34:57 and being able to contribute uh at a
34:59 high level every single night to help
35:02 our team so um man you make us look good
35:04 on defensive
35:07 end and the way that you you challenge
35:09 you know whoever you're facing is is
35:12 impressive and and um you know I
35:15 appreciate just you put your you put
35:16 your body on the line every single night
35:18 and that makes us better so thank you

35:31 we've been here the longest since what
35:33 2010 we always have these little inside
35:35 jokes that nobody else knows about cuz
35:40 nobody else was here and uh it's special
35:43 um you know you're an Allstar you're
35:44 high caliber player that's done some
35:46 great things in your career and this
35:48 year has been different um but the way
35:49 we talked about yesterday the way that
35:52 you handle it with the ultimate goal in
35:54 mind being ready every single night when
35:57 you're called upon
35:59 that's as huge a part of of our success
36:01 as anything because it could go the
36:05 other way quickly so um you know great
36:08 friend that man
36:11 this the the change that's been
36:12 happening in this organization I think
36:16 me and you appreciate the most and um we
36:17 got to finish this thing off so that we
36:19 can get that ring and really
36:23 celebrate madoo and kozz I mean to lump
36:24 you two together but you the the two new
36:26 guys OB was Koz been here a little
36:29 longer the Santa Cruz D-League Champs
36:40 get I appreciate uh all your hard work
36:42 coming in every single day working
36:44 before after practice that sets the tone
36:45 for our practice when we see guys out
36:47 there getting it in you make us want to
36:51 get out there and work um so thank you
36:52 so much for for who you are being who
36:56 you are and um you're you're a huge part
36:57 of this team just your spirit and your
37:00 presence every single day whether uh
37:01 whether you play or not you're always
37:03 into it and we appreciate that and you
37:07 both got some great careers ahead of
37:09 you got through
37:13 that um I I go through that that long
37:16 spiel by my teammates just to say that
37:19 um you know we share a lot of memories
37:21 and this is just a snapshot of the
37:24 journey and we'll remember this year
37:26 matter how it finishes really but we
37:28 have a huge goal in mind but we'll
37:30 remember this year and we'll be able to
37:32 talk about it for years to come every
37:33 time we see each other we'll remember
37:35 this moment and moments that that'll
37:37 hopefully happen in a couple months and
37:40 it'll all mean so much to us um how much
37:42 sacrifice we put into it how much
37:46 work um just the consistency that it
37:49 takes to get to where we are um it takes
37:51 all 14 guys you can't have One Bad Apple
37:54 in this in this you know equation and uh
37:58 we don't so we're truly special or grate
38:00 I'm grateful to have this this this team
38:03 behind me this is not possible without
38:05 you guys I want everybody to get a
38:06 fingerprint on that so I can remember
38:08 you know who I rolled with during this
38:10 year and uh thank you from the bottom of my
38:22 heart all right I've been long-winded
38:24 but this is the last part um I talked
38:27 about faith passion obviously the drive
38:29 with the guys that I've been around and
38:30 the guys that surround me every single
38:33 day uh
38:35 but a part of that is having the will to
38:39 succeed um you know knowing that you put
38:41 the work in and have the confidence to
38:42 let it
38:44 show um what I tell people is just be
38:46 the best version of yourself in anything
38:47 that you
38:50 do you don't have to live anybody else's
38:53 story um sometimes people make it seem
38:54 like you have to have certain
38:57 prerequisites or or crazy life story in
38:59 order to be successful in this world um
39:02 but the truth is you you really don't it
39:04 doesn't matter where you come from what
39:08 you have or don't have what you lack
39:11 what you have too much of but all you
39:13 need to have is is faith in God an
39:16 undying passion for what you do or what
39:19 you choose to do in this life and a
39:21 Relentless drive and the will to do
39:23 whatever it takes to be successful and
39:25 whatever you put your mind to make sure
39:28 you live in the moment and work your
39:31 butt off every single day and I hope I
39:33 inspire people all around the world to
39:36 just be themselves be humble and be
39:37 grateful for all the blessings in your
39:40 life and I'm truly honored to be your
