0:11 okay so we're going to have a look at
0:14 powders and making a powder so for this
0:17 we're going to incorporate two powders
0:24 together riboflavin and starch good the
0:25 way I'm going to do it there's a couple
0:26 of different ways the way I'm going to
0:27 do is I'll incorporate them together in
0:29 a mortar and pestle and the reason I do
0:31 this is because it keeps it at a nice
0:33 central location without falling off the
0:35 slab but it also helps you be able to
0:37 break down any large parts of the powder
0:39 and make it a much more consistent even
0:42 powder okay okay so looking at these two
0:44 powders we've got the RO flavor we've
0:45 got the starch
0:46 okay we've accurately measured these and
0:49 you've had them checked so it's quite
0:56 simple pour the powders enter the modern
0:59 petal now the key with the water and
1:00 pestle is not force
1:06 it's just rotating them together okay if
1:08 you press too hard you'll create a cake
1:11 in effect and what'll it means that
1:14 you'll have large sheets of pressed
1:16 powder that's not what we want so it's
1:18 it's no pressure in the pestle you're
1:20 letting that the edges do the work now
1:22 you can see here there's two you can see
1:23 the yellow and the white powder that's
1:25 not funny incorporated okay so all you
1:35 it's not about doing it very fast
1:37 because it's more likely to fly out of
1:41 the mortar and pestle but you can kind
1:43 of see that most of it is incorporated
1:45 and there's some occasional white spots
1:48 okay so what we're doing now is we're
1:51 trying to rub those white spots down and
1:53 break them up and incorporate them into
1:55 that so it's an even consistent yellow powder
2:09 now one helpful thing is if you have a
2:11 small spatula sort of appropriate to the
2:13 size of the mortar and pestle and just
2:15 run it around the edges and that just
2:17 means anything that's caked
2:20 you can kind of pick up and push back
2:28 into the middle okay I'm starting to
2:30 notice there's occasional white spots
2:34 that I'm bringing off the walls not too
2:37 many which means it's been going well
2:41 okay and kind of see one or two there
2:49 hopefully okay can making sure we don't
2:52 leave our clean equipment on a dirty
2:57 bench just work it around nice and gently
3:04 it's almost incorporated it only takes a
3:05 few minutes and it's mostly about
3:08 patience and making sure you don't go
3:18 okay so hopefully you should be able to
3:23 see there an even consistent color and
3:27 general powder size the one disadvantage
3:29 of incorporating powders and remodel and
3:31 pestles you'll never be able to get all
3:35 of it out okay so there is benefits and
3:37 disadvantages to doing it this way but
3:39 this way it keeps a nice and clean and
