Hi. Are you ready to practice your
English with me today for about 10
minutes or so? I hope so. Well, I'm JC
and I have written an eight sentence
text for you based on a true story and
it's about someone that I've already
mentioned in previous videos. Are you
ready to practice with me? I'll read the
text to you first and then after that
we'll do a repetition
exercise and then the last part you will
read the text to me. Are you ready?
Let's get
started. A few years ago, our musical
friend Shirley
Jackson made an important
purchase. Having just retired from
teaching and being newly settled in the
country, Shirley became obsessed with
the urge to explore North
America. Shirley found an A1 utility van
at a good price and with the help of her
handy son Jeff, they converted it into a camper.

After several months of construction,
Shirley's van Freda was ready to hit the
road. For a first road trip, Shirley and
her friend drove Freda across Canada
from Nova Scotia to Shirley's birthplace,

Alberta. Stopping here and there along
the way, Shirley appreciated the sense
of freedom and excitement that Freda
afforded her. Being a traveling musician
at home in Nova Scotia, Shirley has
always enjoyed discovering new places
where she and her musicians can
perform. Freda has truly become another
valuable facet of Shirley's happy, adventurous
adventurous
life. And you know, last year I had a
chance to see Freda because Shirley and
her friend Cheryl stopped at our place
and they stayed overnight. And I must
say that Shirley and her son Jeff did an
excellent job on that
van. Now the reason the name was chosen
Freda for freedom. Does it make sense? I
think so. Okay, let's go back and
practice sentence by sentence. One. A
