hi kids here we have another lesson
Explorer another set of activities to
solve another learning to unlock I'm
in this video you will learn how to
determine the missing term or terms in a
sequence of numbers
a number sentence is a list of numbers
arranged in a row we call each number in
a sequence a term
try a look at a sequence of numbers in
the Box
can you identify the missing terms
there are several steps in order to find
the meeting term or terms in a number sequence
sequence
all we have to do is to follow these
Three Steps step one the pattern
Step 2 test
step 3 better me
for step one look for the pattern
in the given number sequence 5 10 blank
20 and blank each term is formed by
adding 5 to the preceding number
so the pattern of the given number
sequence is plus five always remember
that if the sequence is increasing the
operation of the pattern is either
addition or multiplication
but if the sequence is decreasing the
operation is subtraction or division
for Step 2 test the pattern make sure to
check the pattern if it is correct to
the whole sequence from 5 to 25. if you
are going to add 5 to 10 we will find 15
as the first missing term in a sequence
10 plus 5 equals 15. by following the
same procedure with 20 added by 5 20
plus 5 we will then find the last
missing term as 25 20 plus 5 equals 25.
and for the last step
you are going to determine and write the
missing term or terms after checking if
the battery is true up to the last term
you can now determine the missing term
or terms so the missing terms are 15 and 25.
25.
to know further more about the lesson
let's have these activities find the
missing term or terms in the given
to determine the missing term or terms
in the given number sequences we will
follow the steps we learned in this lesson
lesson
in the first number sequence the given
terms are inside two different shapes
which are star and hearts for step one
we should look for the pattern since the
given terms are inside different shapes
let us first look closely at the numbers
inside the Stars the numbers inside the
stars are in increasing order
the mathematical operation would be
either addition or multiplication
as we can see the terms are added by
even numbers 2 4 and 6 consecutively
now let us take a closer look at the
numbers in the hearts the numbers inside
the hearts are also in increasing order
therefore the mathematical operation
will be either addition or
multiplication as well in this number
sequence the terms are added by odd
numbers 3 5 and 7 consecutively
After figuring out the patterns let us
now proceed to step 2. we should test
the pattern make sure to check the
pattern if it is true or correct to the
whole number sequence
let's proceed to step three
let's determine and write the missing
terms after checking if the pattern is
true after the last number you can now
determine and write the missing term or
terms the two missing terms are 8 and 20.
20.
now let us find the missing terms in the
step one look for the pattern as we can
see the terms are in decreasing order so
the mathematical operation of the
pattern is either subtraction or division
division
after a closer look to the numbers we
can see that if we divide 352 by 2 the
quotient is 176.
as well as 44 if divided by 2 we will
get 22 as quotient therefore we came up
to a pattern of dividing the terms by
two After figuring out the patterns let
us now proceed to step two Let's test
the pattern make sure to check the
pattern if it is true or correct in the
whole number sequence let's proceed to
the last step let's determine and write
the missing terms so the missing terms
these are the key Concepts that you need
to remember
