0:23 podcast is here because of you? Because
0:26 you're listening. Thank you so much. I
0:29 greatly appreciate it. If you think you
0:32 know somebody else that might benefit

0:38 your friends. Put it on social media.
0:40 Wherever you hang out, please share the
0:43 podcast. I greatly appreciate it. And
0:46 let's go ahead and get on to today's
0:48 podcast. Let's go back in time.
0:52 Today's expression so
0:55 excellent to give a shout out to
0:58 someone. I want to give a shout out to
1:01 dot dot dot dot dot. Please give me a
1:03 shout out. What is a shout out?
1:09 It means to say hi to somebody, to
1:13 acknowledge somebody's name,
1:17 especially if somebody goes on the radio
1:21 or on
1:22 TV, okay? Or in a speech or something
1:25 like that. So, let's say this is my
1:29 podcast, okay? And it's it's kind of
1:32 like a radio show. Well, the other day I
1:35 got a message from Lima and Lima said,
1:39 "Shane, you can use my name in your
1:42 podcast, in your dialogues, but but
1:46 please be nice." Okay, Lima. So, right
1:49 now, by mentioning Lima's name, I'm
1:52 giving Lima a shout
1:55 out. What about you? Would you like me
1:58 to give you a shout out?
2:02 All right, you have to send me
2:06 $1,000. No, that's not true. Uh, yeah,
2:09 I'll give you a shout out. Let me know.
2:12 So, giving somebody a shout out means
2:14 mentioning their name, saying hi,
2:17 acknowledging
2:18 them. You can give someone a shout out
2:21 in a book. So, you open up a book. Let's
2:24 see. I've got a book right here. It's
2:26 about um marketing. And I open it. This
2:31 book is dedicated to Shane Peterson.
2:34 Really? Wow. The author of this book,
2:37 Drew Wittmann, gave me a shout out. He
2:41 mentioned my name in his book. It's a
2:45 great expression. So, my question for
2:47 you, would you like me to give you a
2:50 shout out? Well, send me an email. Let's
2:53 check out the
2:55 dialogue. Shane, can you give a shout
2:58 out to me in your next lesson? Sure. if
3:00 I remember. I get so busy I sometimes
3:02 forget. I'll remind you every day. That
3:06 might
3:08 help. Yeah. Uh sometimes people ask me
3:11 to say hi. Why don't you say hi to me? I
3:15 I apologize. It's hard to remember. And
3:18 to be honest, I do get lots of email
3:23 every day. And you know, I lose email
3:27 addresses and names and stuff like that.
3:29 So, if I forget your name, don't be
3:32 angry. Just And no, I'm not ignoring
3:35 you. And I don't ignore any country or
3:39 anything like that. No, everybody's the
3:42 same. Everybody's fair. Just keep
3:45 sending me an email. Eventually, I'll
3:48 mention your name. Don't worry. Even
3:51 Even the crazy
3:54 people, you know who you are, crazy
3:56 people.
3:58 I'll mention your name, too, but just
4:00 once cuz you scare me. No, that's not
4:02 true. That's not true. Give a shout out
4:05 to somebody. Say hi to somebody,
4:08 especially in public, on the radio, on
4:11 TV, in a podcast, in a book, in a
4:16 magazine article, in a newspaper
4:18 article. That's the idea. Let's check
4:20 this out two more times.
4:24 Shane, can you give a shout out to me in
4:27 your next lesson? Sure, if I remember. I
4:30 get so busy I sometimes forget. I'll
4:32 remind you every day. That might help.
4:37 Shane, can you give a shout out to me in
4:39 your next lesson? Sure. If I remember. I
4:42 get so busy I sometimes forget. I'll
4:45 remind you every day. That might help.
