let's go ahead and get on to today's
podcast. Let's go back in time.
Today's expression so
excellent to give a shout out to
someone. I want to give a shout out to
dot dot dot dot dot. Please give me a
shout out. What is a shout out?
It means to say hi to somebody, to
acknowledge somebody's name,
especially if somebody goes on the radio
or on
TV, okay? Or in a speech or something
like that. So, let's say this is my
podcast, okay? And it's it's kind of
like a radio show. Well, the other day I
got a message from Lima and Lima said,
"Shane, you can use my name in your
podcast, in your dialogues, but but
please be nice." Okay, Lima. So, right
now, by mentioning Lima's name, I'm
giving Lima a shout
out. What about you? Would you like me
to give you a shout out?
All right, you have to send me
$1,000. No, that's not true. Uh, yeah,
I'll give you a shout out. Let me know.
So, giving somebody a shout out means
mentioning their name, saying hi,
acknowledging
them. You can give someone a shout out
in a book. So, you open up a book. Let's
see. I've got a book right here. It's
about um marketing. And I open it. This
book is dedicated to Shane Peterson.
Really? Wow. The author of this book,
Drew Wittmann, gave me a shout out. He
mentioned my name in his book. It's a
great expression. So, my question for
you, would you like me to give you a
shout out? Well, send me an email. Let's
check out the
dialogue. Shane, can you give a shout
out to me in your next lesson? Sure. if
I remember. I get so busy I sometimes
forget. I'll remind you every day. That
might
help. Yeah. Uh sometimes people ask me
to say hi. Why don't you say hi to me? I
I apologize. It's hard to remember. And
to be honest, I do get lots of email
every day. And you know, I lose email
addresses and names and stuff like that.
So, if I forget your name, don't be
angry. Just And no, I'm not ignoring
you. And I don't ignore any country or
anything like that. No, everybody's the
same. Everybody's fair. Just keep
sending me an email. Eventually, I'll
mention your name. Don't worry. Even
Even the crazy
people, you know who you are, crazy
people.
I'll mention your name, too, but just
once cuz you scare me. No, that's not
true. That's not true. Give a shout out
to somebody. Say hi to somebody,
especially in public, on the radio, on
TV, in a podcast, in a book, in a
magazine article, in a newspaper
article. That's the idea. Let's check
this out two more times.
Shane, can you give a shout out to me in
your next lesson? Sure, if I remember. I
get so busy I sometimes forget. I'll
remind you every day. That might help.
