Um, hey George. So, as we start this new year, um, I'm sure all of us have made our own New
Year's resolutions. Um, you know, personal goals that we want to achieve this year. Um, you know,
this it's a time of the season where um, you know, sometimes we can end up focusing too much on
ourselves. um you know what we want for ourselves um you know and ultimately to glorify ourselves
um but I was reminded um this morning just reading Psalms that you know all glory belongs to God and
um you know it is God's um you know God has called us to live according to his will. So
um yeah let's just spend a bit of time um just praying um and reflecting on the on
the upcoming year and just asking God what he desires of us. So let's pray.
A thousand
[Music] of your name.
We honor the praise. Oh Jesus.
You are [Music]
adorable.
Oh Jesus.
[Music]
Um, heavenly father, we just thank you for, you know, your faithfulness in the past year. Uh, we
thank you for being a father that answers prayers and for the ways in which you've worked in our
lives both through the ups and downs. Lord, um, as we look to start another year, another season,
Lord, we just pray for your guidance and wisdom. um help us to discern where you're leading us and
open our eyes to the different opportunities um that you give that you give each and every one
of us to share your love and truth. Um you know we pray that this year may be a year where each
of us may come to to really understand what it is what it means to have a full life in Christ
Lord. Um Lord, as we look to enter a time of offering, oh Lord, we just pray that um you know,
we may give generously and we may give um out of a heart of joy um and gratitude. Oh Lord, um
we pray all these things in Jesus name. Amen. Just take a seat and we we'll enter a time of offering.
All that I am [Music] All that I have are undone for you. Oh Lord,
all my regrets, all my acclaim, the joy and the pain. I'm making them yours.
Lord, I offer my life to you. Everything I've been through,
years of royal gloryy, Lord, I offer my days to you. Lifting my praise to
you as a pleasing sacriice. [Music] Lord, I offer you my life. [Music]
[Applause] I want to invite you to house church. Church isn't just a Sunday service.
It's life together. In Acts chapter 242, believers devoted themselves to teaching,
fellowship, and breaking bread. This is the heart of house church. House Church isn't
just something we do. It's who we are. It's where we grow, share, and walk this journey
together. More than just a meeting. It's home. It's where we belong. Where we encounter God
in our everyday life. You're invited. Come break bread, build community, and live out the gospel
together wholeheartedly. Above water is our financial help program. If you need support,
please talk to one of our shepherds or leaders. We're here to help. Start your day in God's
presence. Join us at early morning prayer every morning 6:30 a.m. Come and seek God, align your
heart, and grow in faith. When we pray, heaven moves. Come with holy expectancy. See you there.
Good morning, everyone. Let's give a let's give a cheer for the first service of um 2026.
Okay, so I am Mel. I'll be doing the announcements today. Um, so cleaning roster it would be um
Johanna and Laurens house church this week and next week would be Charles and Vincent.
Um, I'm going to bring up John. This one.
Hey guys. Hi again. So exciting. Next week is the fundraiser. Um, it's a bit of a misleading title
though because the the main goal isn't to raise money. It's actually to um get you guys and the
church to know more about what we're doing there um and just to get you guys um hearing what we're
doing. Um but yeah, there will be food um and there'll be prayer cards. So, make sure you come
and stay back after service and yeah, we'll have good chats. Just the next slide. Yeah.
So just a reminder again and next slide is Sunday at 6 PM in Westride. So if you are available um
come around uh pray for us before we leave. Pray for the team and yeah that'd be really awesome.
Um and a lot of our church members are going so it'd be great to have you guys there. So yeah.
Hello, my name is Ty. Um, good to see you all. Um, today's the last day you can actually send
gifts to a foreign land far far away somewhere called Eland. So, please um so there's a um
there's a tree back there. U we've just prepared some cards. Um so, you know, like um if you can
just have a look, we got some presents. We have more presents today which was really exciting. Um
also we have some of the cards that's ready. So if you're not gonna give anything at least write
something guys. Come on. Also um yeah there's some um you know like the mission fund account I think
um can be shown. So if you want to um if you want to um you know like give then it's on
the church announcement chat. So please go in there and um please um be generous. Thank you.
Okay. Um, so prayer night is not this Tuesday. I'm pretty sure it's next Tuesday. Um,
as we are starting this year off with EMP, highly encouraged. Um, I also highly encourage
all of us to join, you know, at least the first prayer night of the year. Um,
so it' be really good to see you guys there. Not this week, the next week. Full Life in Christ. Um,
when what's the end? Is it the end of the month for this? Yeah, end of the month. Um,
to fill in your QR code. So, if you haven't, please put out your phone
and do it now. That would be awesome. Next. Okay. Bible reading. Thanks, Shaw.
Good morning, everyone. Uh, my name is Shaw and today I'll be doing the Bible reading.
Uh we'll be reading John 4 uh English Standard Version. So John 4. So I got with me the church
Bible. Uh there's some at the back near the entrance. Um and that is on page 835 and 836.
All right, I'll start. Um, now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that
Jesus was making and and baptizing more disciples than John, although Jesus himself did not baptize,
but only his disciples, he left Judea and departed again for Galilee. And he had to pass through
Samaria. So he came to a town of Samaria called Sig near the field that Jacob had given to his
son Joseph. Jacob's well was there. So Jesus wearied as he was from his journey was sitting
beside the well. It was about the sixth hour. A woman from Samaria called came to draw water.
Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink." For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
The Samaritan woman said to him, "How is it that you, a Jew, asked for a drink from Ami,
a woman of Samaria? For Jews had no dealings with Samaritans." Jesus answered her, "If you knew the
gift of God, and who is it, who is that is saying to you, give me a drink, you would have asked him,
and he would have given you living water." The woman said to him, "Sir, you have nothing to
draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? Are you greater than
our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself as did his sons and his livestock.
Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks of the this water will be thirsty again. But whoever
drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give
him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." The woman said to him, "Sir,
give me this water so I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water." Jesus said to
her, "Go call your husband and come here." The woman answered him, "I have no husband." Jesus
said to her, "You are right in saying, I have no husband, for you have had five husbands,
and the one you now have is not your husband." Word prophet, our father worshiped on this the
father. You worship what you do not know. We worship what we know. For salvation is from the
Jews. But the hour is coming and is now here when the true worshippers will worship the Father in
spirit and truth. For the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit and those who
worship him must worship in spirit and truth. The woman said to him, "I know the Messiah is
coming. He who is called Christ. When he comes, he will tell us all things." Jesus said to her,
"I who speak to you am he." Just then his disciples came back. They marveled that he
was talking with a woman. But no one said, "What do you seek or why are you talking with her?"
So the woman left a water jar and went away into the town and said to the people, "Come see the
man who told me that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?" They went out of the town and were coming
to him. Meanwhile, the disciples were urging him, saying, "Rabbi, eat." But he said to them,
"I have food to eat that you do not know about." So the disciples said to one another, "Has anyone
brought him something to eat and to accomplish his work? yields a white for harvest. Already
the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life so that the swer and reaper
may rejoice together. For here the saying holds true. One holds and another reaps. I sent you to
reap that for which you do not labor. Others have labored and you have entered into their
labor. Many Samaritans from the town believed in him because of the woman's testimony. He told me
all that I ever did. So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to say stay with them. And
he stayed there two days. And many more believed because of his word. They said to the woman,
"It is no longer because of what you have said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves,
and we know that this is indeed the savior of the world." After the two days, he departed for
Galilee. For Jesus himself had testified that the prophet had no honor in his own hometown.
So when he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, having seen all that he had done in Jerusalem
at the feast, for they had to for they too had gone to the feast. So he came again to Canel in
Galilee where he had made the water wine. At the cape norm uh there was an official whose son was
ill. When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him
to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. So Jesus said to him, "Unless you
see sign and wonders, you will not believe." The official said to him, "Sir, come down before my
child dies." Jesus said to him, "Go, your son will live." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke
to him and went on his way. As he was going down, his servants met him and told him that his son
was recovering. So he asked them at the hour when he had began to get better. And they said to him,
"Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him." The father knew that the hour when Jesus had
said to him, "Your son will live." And he himself believed and all his household. This was now
the second sign that Jesus did when he had come from Judea to Galilee. This is the word of God.
Good morning. Good morning, Harpit. Good to see you guys all here again. I'm actually going to
try to do this, but having a lot of children, we'll see how it works out. I'm going to do one
minute silence once again. Oh, wow. Okay, children getting there. And I just felt like uh the reason
I started from last year last week was we come to church and we sing songs and pray. I mean
this amazing thing God does but sometimes we just continuning that our pattern of our life. There's
no rest there because we're so busy looking at the phone and you know never really quieten down
our heart. We never learn how to enjoy the silent the the way God speaks in the silence. And also
I want to give you guys opportunity to confess. Confess your sin. Confess your wrongdoings that
in your heart that I don't want you to come and go back with the same heart. Bible says,
"If we confess our sin, he's faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from
all unrighteousness." So, I'm going to put the timer on. You're all going to be quiet just one
minute and spend some time in confession and let God really give you the message in your heart.
Father God, we thank you for this morning, your word, your presence, your invitation for us to
confess. And you said, "If we confess our sins, you are faithful and just, and you will forgive us
our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." As we start this 2026, we do not want to carry on
the baggage from 2025. We're going to lay down before you. We're going to put it down under the
cross. and so that you will carry our burden and you will teach us how to follow you and you will
lead us into that righteousness and you will teach us how to live out the gospel together
wholeheartedly. Thank you God in Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. Let's give God big club offering
church. Awesome. Awesome. All right. Um there are few things I need to do before we go. Thank you
Haron. I need a spotlight. That's good. Um you know this church is doing amazing things like I
want you to really celebrate and excited about it. Oh, before I forget, one of the amazing thing is
that you know in Sydney campus we have a building team. You know, you probably don't the way John
is very um the muscle and all that. He's not just trying to show off, but he's building something
at the back right now. Right. Okay. Give him big clap for the building team. Joining the team. Um
but there are a lot of things there there that they want to build something but they're not
professional. They take time. So there are a lot of things out there. So please um do not let your
children run around that way because a bit of a uh dangerous stuff there. Right. Okay. And also
another good things that we have we are sending out several mission teams and since I'm here
uh this month um before they go the kind of our last week so I want to really bring them up and
pray with them. Is that okay? So we have a eland is going out right. Yeah. So all the eland mission
team please come out here. That'll be great. And we have a singleton team. Singleton team come come
out in the middle. This is amazing. I'm so excited about that. And also we have a refresh our youth
ministry the mentors going out. So refresh go on the right left. So singleton in the middle elen on
the far right and refresh on far left. All right. Okay. [Music] So, who's going to Elen? These three
girls. Okay. Oh my gosh. Um, you you can you can double park. Come, guys. Come come come in front.
What you are you refresh? All right. Kai Kai and you two can come in front. Yeah. In front of them.
That's good. All right. Good. So, this four, this four is a singleton. Uh, it's us four. Kev. Kev,
Kev Jin, right? And is anybody missing in Sububin? Subin is me. Where is Subin?
She's sick. Hi, Subin. Okay. And these are the refresh group going as a mentors,
right? Who else missing? Jin. Kev Jin and Joe. Kevin. Kev Jin and Joe. And where's Kev Jin?
He's recorded right now. So, okay. Now he's missing. All right church. Um this
is exciting thing that our church is not only just um building our own castle. We are
always conscious about reaching out to globally, locally and our next generation. Um so can we just
uh reach out to your arm and uh really intercede for these people and uh we'll not be able to see
them for a while but they are doing God's work and they are doing it with us. Let's pray church.
Father God, we thank you Lord God. Thank you Lord God your hands on every one of them Lord Jesus.
Lord God, Lord Jesus, Lord, this is a amazing work you're doing. Lord Jesus,
would you Lord teach them, guide them, lead them, Lord, show them that whoever comes, Lord God,
you'll be honored, you'll be glorified, Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus, God. Thank you. Thank you.
Father God, we thank you Lord. Thank you for the gospel you
given to us first so that we can be the messenger, be the witness for those people who need you
desperately. The Lord send the last and the least. And we are honored to be able to um be that
witness and that people who can give a testimony to those people. So Lord I pray for your mighty
hands upon them wherever that they go e land and singleton and refresh whoever they talk to whoever
they will meet your divine presence will be there. Lord God would you speak through them? Would you
work through them? Would you let them be um find the joy in doing your work, Lord God? They can
truly continue to glorify you. Not their name, but your name, Lord Jesus. Strengthen them whenever
they need, emotionally, physically, financially, everything they need, they can ask of you and you
will give to them. Lord, thank you Lord God for this great people, great church. In Jesus name
we pray. Amen. Amen. Okay, let's go. Give God offering. Awesome. Thank you guys. [Applause]
All right. I mean, I think it's worth mentioning uh Jesse from Gold Coast is also going to Elen,
right? Ellen Ellen, but uh I won't be there to send her off, but it is awesome. Um I just want
to just point out a few people here and this is very interesting service today.
Uh we have all three campus representative here today. Sh and Jo here. Wow. Okay. From Melbourne
and Kevin and Judy whole families are here. Oh yeah. By the way, the Judy's uh uh and the Judy,
Kevin, and Will and Grace their child is a hundth day today. Very today. They same day. They were
born like a few hours apart, right? So, I don't know. It's a big thing for Korean. I don't know
about all the other guys, but I Let's give it a big clap. Okay. Welcome. Welcome. All right. Good.
100 days. Bonnie, h, how old is your baby? You forgot. Two months. Two months. Okay. Few more
days to go. All right. So, Bonnie's baby's youngest officially right now. Okay. So,
why is not the last one? Oh wow. Um, today is the first Sunday sermon of the year. You can tell the
pressure I had all right throughout the week. You can tell by the way I dress today. I didn't care
about what I was wearing. Couldn't think about it. But as you know that we've been going through
this series uh of um reading out reading John together book of John together every morning.
By the way guys thank you for coming. First day we had like 43 people. Second day we had
like 52 people right on in the morning. You know one thing I noticed was though um people say oh
it's too early in the morning. This quite doesn't make actually sense because people who showed up
always early is Queensland people who is have to get up 5:30, right? So sicider and Melbourne, you
you guys have no excuse, right? And this 21 days um the the full life in Christ prayer season is
um going to go Monday to Saturday. Yeah. So maybe some of you guys finished your house church late
so you couldn't show up on um Saturday. You are forgiven by the way you know but please come and I
was quite surprised on Saturday yesterday morning we had of a good 34 people right that was crazy.
I have a dream very lofty dream I want to have one day in this droughty EMP have three figures.
You know it's possible like right here is like almost in over 80 right if you want to make it
work if really serious about it then wake up your children right let them attend and put
that Dan and Jen five people things like that and that will that would actually cover a lot
um but yeah that's something I'm praying about all of you guys Um,
and in this season, what are we trying to do? What are we trying to do? We really want to
have you guys sit in the place where come have a conversation with God. The theme for this year is
2026 is full life in Christ. Amen. Full life in Christ. And all the things that all the things
that we're trying to do this this month is so that you can set it up really well and make 2026 is a
wonderful and powerful and one of the most epic epic and memorable year for your life. Not just
physical way but also spiritual way. And I really believe that God wants a full life in your life.
Not just a mediocre and not just like a half kind of a good life, right? But God really want you to
understand the life God has given to you through his death and resurrection from the cross. Eternal
life of course, but it is more than that. And I've been doing the ministry and I'm wondering
quite a lot why a lot of good Christians struggle. Why bad things happens to the good people, right?
Why a lot of people who are very faithful to uh to Christ is still struggling and depressions and
uh the internal insecurity and relational issues and in their life they are not really living out
the life and Bible says rejoice always. They don't know what that means. They don't know
what it looks like. I I I really want you guys to understand that our uh the whole puppy church
theme called living out the gospel. What does that mean? Gospel is not just to be understood
and studied upon, but it's something that you need to live out. What Jesus has done has to come into
our life and we need to experience that. I guess I'm saying this because I've been through too and
I see your struggle and I see wow wish you guys have this truth in your heart and be able to live
out. So 21 days can I invite you to come into this place of conversation with God. Conversation with
God is important and vital place for you to start to have full life in Christ. So questions that we
asking what's your full life look like? You need to ask that to God as well. If you're wondering
um come to EMP that's why you have to come to EMP. Um I know someone just literally
uh sleep through whole 30 minutes. That's fine, you know, and the next day you'll get better,
but put your place in a place where you can hear from the Lord. I mean, we are too filled with the
noise from the world. You know, this is our God these days. You know, we spend hours, eternity
can pass by. I can see doing this flipping the short form videos. And you're probably saying,
well, but my life is not good enough to ask God anything. And oh, opposite is, oh, then I'll just
talk to God. God u um you want I want a boyfriend internally and you your mind is somewhere else and
you start to I want to pray for the world peace you know that's not going to be the what this full
life in Christ like you know do you know honest failure is much better than fake success in the
presence of God don't try to come to him and as you wrestling whatever you are wrestling you think
you can tuck in and say God I want to I want to make sure that I have a good kind of facade before
you right and so I'll pray for all these things because I desire your kingdom and righteousness
first when you deep inside your heart you struggle with complete different thing and you see today's
passage speaks right that point God wants to come on his failure your rather than fake success. But
the problem is you never really bring anything to God, do you? That's the problem. That's our
problem. Don't start 2026 that way. Come and build your life upon the right foundation.
um when I think about the um full life in Christ so I don't want you to misunderstand oh that means
I need to pray more I need to read Bible more which is right yeah but there's no power in it if
you don't understand the the reality in your heart is not match with it this is what I'm doing right
now okay I'm just sharing sharing it with you is a so today what 4th of January right so from
1 of January okay God what's my full life in you I've been asking too I've been having conversation
with God conversation with my wife um financially physically spiritually I'm bringing all different
aspect of it I want to read the Bible whole Bible yes you know I want to pray every day yes all that
but how about everything else that actually occupies my mind as well. I want to have a I
want a g the presence of Jesus in that place. Can I just bring it just like a literally honest blank
page on on like a as it is bluntly? Most of people if I ask what's your full life I'm generalizing
but let's be honest I think it comes down to three category. I want to be rich. I want to help
healthy and happy. All right. You can disagree with me because you're so holy. But I tell you,
I want that too. I want to be rich doing now. This month for this sound is me making coffee. Well,
I'm not making coffee. It's a press button. But it's one of the best one. Every morning I drank
it and then sometimes two two coffee just for the taste of it, right? But I felt like what if
I don't have that? Do you know until I cut it, I didn't know how much I depend on it. I be having
this uh withdrawal syn like yesterday I'm having this splitting headache. What's going on? Have
anybody had that experience? Oh, you demonized my coffee, right? I didn't know this like oh
this my body reacted to it. Um, I'm gonna just cut off sugar and I'm gonna exercise. That's a
beginner's kind of a exercise 21 days a beginner kind of thing. So, you just have to do this and
know first day I did was so easy and I didn't know that you have to do three times. I only do
once and the next day I realized oh my goodness and yesterday I couldn't do because I was sick.
I was had I had excuse right? Why why am I doing this kind of things that you probably done it for
many times or resolutions and all that stuff you know it never works you know by March you slow
down in June you already completely forgotten and by December you come up with a new resolution that
was your pattern for last 20 something years if that's you well what I'm saying is basically that
it's better to have a resolution than not have at all at least you live the healthy life in one
month and like like a whole 12 months is gone. But don't you think it is about time for us to think
what is God want from me? What does God seek in from my life? Yeah. Why God created me the
way I am? the the way I look, the family I have, ability I have, you know, tendency and cravings
I have. God, I want to live this life richly, healthily, happily. Is that so wrong with it?
And Bible pastor like Jesus came to give you life, life in full in abundance. What does it
look like? You don't even know because you've been going like all the high school. Uh was it
Lorine just finished high school all your life is finishing the high school right up until now
and you finished the high school and what do I do now? Right? Someone trying to get a job,
someone trying to get married and is is that it? Is that all we got? Well, I really want you guys
to start this 2026. Do not put that behind and leave it to a chance or coincidence or naive
optimism. I need you. I want you to as a church, let's walk together what Jesus have promised to
us. It can be realized, actualized and lived out the full life in Christ. I don't think
Jesus would given that kind of promises without reality. He will make it happen. So let's go to
the one conversation Jesus had with this woman. By the way, do you know this conversation is a
one of the longest conversation recorded in the Bible with Jesus with someone another person.
So he's conversing with this woman and you will see the depth of his heart. what he's seeking,
God is seeking and contradicting and colliding with what she is seeking. By the way guys,
do you see the word that I repeated? Seeking. Everybody say seeking. Seeking. The seeking is
so important. I'm almost named this whole sermon title power of searching. Jesus is
searching and women was searching something. God is searching and you will meet those
thing you will understand this thing and what happens after that all right let's go verse one
always confused now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making
the baptizing more disciples than John Jesus himself did not baptize only his disciple he
left Judea and departed again for Galilee and he had to pass through Samaria. So he came to
town of Samaria called Sichar near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob's
well was there. So Jesus weird and uh and then as he was from his journey was sitting beside
the well it was about the six hours. Okay, there are a lot of information there. So you have to
see the context. And right before this he had a conversation another conversation with a man
um Jewish man Nicodemus and have a really really important intense talk and then from there he
actually walked away from the crowd and on the way to Galilee. So was Jerusalem Galile right?
So it's the south and from north to south in the middle there's a place called Samaria. Samaria
right? Okay. Now Samaria is a context just in case you don't know I'm sure you guys know this right
is a historical context is although they are part of the Israelite they were despised group because
it goes to historically um they were heartbre when the Assyrian took the northern kingdom and
Babylonian took the ne the southern kingdom and there are some lap leftover remnants that were
there and there were mixed marriage and all those things and they only believe like five first book
of the old testament man they have a bit different superstitions of the local kind of a the religion
kind of a mixture there. So when Israelite came back from Exodus and they saw these guys say you
are not pure, you are not good enough. So they actually put them in a different category. Right?
This is quite very important um that understanding because it comes back again again again right and
some some uh Jewish people hate Samaria more than the gentile people. So when anybody want
to try travel from north to the south that fast way just go through the Samaria but
instead of going through there they sort of go around and take the longer route. Yeah. So
but what Jesus did was a completely different thing that you see that I mean there's a story
parable of Samaritan and good Samaritan that's come from there those people who are despised
religiously socially and morally the people Jesus came and that preconception that custom Jesus love
to break those through the stories like this to make sure to uh to people understand what's the
heart of the gospel. What's the heart of the gospel? You cannot earn it. It doesn't come
from your blood. It only can be from the grace of God through Jesus Christ. And that is what
we need to see here. But anyway, and and here he says um verse four is quite interesting that say
he had to pass through Samaria. Of course, he doesn't have to pass. But what does it
mean? Why did he have to pass? Why he said he needs to pass this, right? There's a spiritual
meaning here. Because he needs to see this woman, right? Okay. It doesn't make sense if you see him
as just a teacher. You see this encounter as just accidental. This is just coincidence.
This is the way you get wrong about your full life as well because you don't see the divine
hand working tirelessly day and night for you to live out the life God want you to live. There's
a lot of thing God maneuver through in your life. So make sure that you meet this person message you
hear you know and the things that you encounter in in the experience you have highs and low all
these thing God is working amen I believe that I believe God is working problem is that you don't
see it you constantly missing that opportunity that's why you come to EMP man why the passage
we just read may hit you you never know you need to know how to put yourself in a position
Well, why we have to understand this? Because Jesus is Jesus who seek one person. He had to
go through this place. And also it was about the sixth hour. Sixth hour is the noon,
right? The scorching hot day. And also Jesus was tired as he was from his journey. It shows
about again his humanity. Hey, I'm tired, too. So, one of the one of the excuses I
heard personally when I rebuked someone and his answer back to me was that, oh, my rebuke was,
"Why aren't you kind? Why aren't you forgiving? Why are you bullying people in the church?" And
all this stuff, right? And his answer to me is, "Wow, I'm not Jesus." Right? That's our popular
excuse. I'm not Jesus. I know you are not Jesus. You didn't save me. But that can't be your excuse.
the what everything failed in Adam's if you read the Bible Jesus came I was a human being too I was
tempted as well I was a tithe and the way God created human being that we felt that Jesus is
succeed in and so you know in in Hebrew chapter 4 you you you know this you know for we do not have
a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses But we have one who have been tempted
in every way just as we are. Yet he did not sin. See he was tired too. But he was continued the
journey in a way that according to to live his own full life. Now this is interesting question
by the way. Next chapter next verse you I'm going to ask this question. What do you think that she
will answer if we ask her what is your full life? Right? And if we ask Jesus, Jesus, what's your
full life? You're going to live only 33 years, right? In this world as we all know, what's
your full life going to be? Interesting question, but I think we'll get that kind of answer today.
So he was sitting there and a woman, a woman, women. Come on, women. Oh my gosh. A woman from
Samaria came to draw water. Okay. Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink." Great pickup line. Don't
use it. But Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink." For his disciple had gone away into the city to
buy food. Okay, there's no disciples. So Jesus had to ask. And verse 9, the Samaritan woman said
to him, "Well, this woman is something instead of just if she had given the word. Okay, here we go.
We finished." Maybe Jesus come up with a different conversation. But her question is, "How is that
you, a Jew, asked for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?" Wow. Two thing. He straight up just pull
up the barrier between you and me. Between Jesus and her, you're a Jew. I must don't talk Samaria.
Don't you know? Number two, men don't talk to women in those days. You know, some rabbi don't
talk to their own wife on the street because she's a woman. I'm sorry. Right. This is a different
time, right? And she was curious, you breaking so many rules here. What's going on? And this
one question that she he asked, give me a drink. It actually means more than Jesus asking for H2O
and you will see more and more this what he's this breaking question is to all of us that hey give me
a drink can you give me the water can you give me the water because you have the bucket there is a
water you have to pull it up and you are very resourceful you have all the power you think
you can actually help me come help me and the straight away how many times that we actually pull
up our own barrier because of our own inadequacy. Hey, I'm I'm I'm not Jesus. You know, you know,
it kind of sidetracked though, but how many of you guys sometimes when things goes uh you are so used
to the things going wrong, you know, you're you're you're very by default mode is something going
wrong and whenever things going right, you feel scared, you feel uneasy like and also you have
this kind of a sense of when is going to end, you know, and when is that going to so when is going
to so you always prepare yourself you put up the barrier that is my life is is going to be bad that
that is the underlining thought you always have that's why whenever we have a prayer like this
it's not of coming out of the faith it's coming out of uh the true searching to God and you don't
have that faith in God because God you already made up your mind you know I'm not worthy I'm not
worthy for you to talk to me I'm not Great. And why would you listen to me this full life that I
want to have? So you instead of giving whatever is in your heart, you instead give fake success.
I want to give you what you want to hear. God, I want to tell you I want to go for mission. I want
to give my life for you. But deep in your heart, you never really open that box that he don't
tucked in so well. Filled with a wrapped with a pride, wrapped with a insecurity, wrapped with a
worldly desire. You never let God touch it because moment it got touched you felt like it's going to
fall apart. You you know that only thing that has actually good impression on you. You covered well
all these years with the religions your habits everything you felt like this God should be on
your side but you never really had that heart of a heart of a heart your full life what God wants
in your heart. You're probably afraid God may not want what you want. Right? See, I'm not here to
give you answer though. That's what we're going to spend next 30 30 days to praying through 21
days. And so you write that down a whole year to really go through this one by one. Take it
out and to break that. Break that. Sometimes God asks these random questions like, "Hey, give me
a drink. What do you want? What do you got? What do you got?" Well, this woman pull up the barrier.
All right. I'm a Jew. You shouldn't I'm not a Samarian Samaritan. You shouldn't talk to me. I'm
a woman. What's wrong with you? Right? And Jesus was like Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift
of God and who it is that is saying to you, give me a drink, you would have asked him and he would
take have given you living water." That was not the question that the Samarian woman was asking.
Jesus is so good at he is asking certain question and constantly answering the question with the
question and this typical the the Jewish rabbi kind of a the method of the teaching right but
also he is trying to help her to know what you truly need to crave for now the biggest issue this
whole conversation ation was not she's a sinner, not she was the dumb I mean the samari woman.
What's the biggest issue? The fact that she didn't know who this man was. So Jesus was saying, "Hey,
if you know me, right?" Oh, he says, "If you knew the gift of God, every verse says gift of God."
Christianity is all about gift. Let's let's put our head around to this. It's all about harder
than you think it. Especially you know I should never receive anything free right and and it's
just hard to understand grace if if someone give to you she always have to give back so it turn
that gift turning into what reward or bribe it's completely different thing but when Jesus says
hey if you need the gift of god saying what I can give you is more than water But is gift from God,
gift from God and you can't achieve it on your own and I'm the one who can give you that gift.
You know, Bible says again again, guys, that all of us who lived among among them one time,
gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following the desires and thoughts like the rest,
we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God who is rich in mercy
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgression. in Ephesians chapter 2,
you are not able, you are not eligible to receive this gra uh the gift from God. But now,
now you have to look at the woman once again. We're going to go back.
The time when she came was noon. women when those days to draw the water they don't come at this
uh the hot noon time they either come early in the morning and with group of women together
it's like I think it's like a all the women go to toilet together I don't know why but
it's like they come and this is a place and uh it also used as a place where people know there are
women there right so there are um meeting place. They're gossiping going on there. They're talking
about people there, you know, and the well is a bit different kind of function more than just
water. But the woman came here at noon means a bit different. She's hiding. She's staying trying to
stay away from the crowd. And you will know later why, right? She was not that reputable woman.
She had a five husband and you know what she was trying to uh hide from. And you know when we are
most vulnerable and in need that's when Jesus comes to you. It's a gift. It's a gift from God.
So church you are standing sitting here listening to sermon right? Whether you like it or not you
think it's so boring. It's too long already. Right? It just it's introduction man. Hang on.
There's a gift of God and that moment of rejection when you are sinner when you rejecting God that's
a time or when you're most vulnerable or when you are in the first week of the January I know what
kind of what kind of mindset you have right now you you're going through the party after
party and here right you know celebrate what are you celebrating by the way you know maybe I got
old I don't know what you're celebrating for I rather have you guys prepare for the rest of the
year instead of yay. What did you do to celebrate that much anyway? So come out of your drunkenness.
But when you are in need, Jesus comes and give you this kind of answer. If you knew the gift of God,
what I can give you and living water. Oh, that's another concept you have to remember.
And she goes on. The woman said to him, "Sir, you have nothing to draw water with
and the well is deep. Where do you get this living water?" Ah, so she hasn't understood
what living water is all about. And also, you want to help me? What can you help me about?
What are you going to what can you give me? Huh? You don't have a tools. You I know this place.
Hey guys, do you feel like sometimes you talk to God? God, what do you know about my life?
Thank you. I love that someone is listening. That means Yeah, I did that. Like I pray and
all that stuff, but it's deep inside my heart, but God, you don't know me. No. What do you know? Do
you know my insecurity? Do you know my ability of my disability? You know what I've done? You know,
deep inside my heart, I know I can run my life better. What do you know about my life? And she
was saying to Jesus, what is a living water? No. So, she is talking about something. Jesus talking
about something else. And she goes, "If pull up the Bible going, are you greater than your
father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself as did his sons and his livestock. Like
I know Jacob from the Bible. Are you greater than him? What are you talking about? Right?
Jesus answered like this. Jesus says to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be
thirsty again. But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.
The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life. So
Jesus saying you can draw the bucket and bring me the HD and quench my thirst right now but you and
I know so well it's not going to last. It's going to be temporary. You come back here next morning,
next afternoon and you're aborting your crowd. Avoid the judgment of the people. Avoiding your
all hurts and pain. You're trying to come and draw that water because you want to survive. And where
that come from? It comes from that cravings in our heart. Natural cravings. And we need to drink the
water. We don't command drinking water. It is just there. His desire is there. And Jesus is
basically asking that you desire that. But I can give you something else. You don't desire this
living water. The water I give you is coming from internally and is going to eternally. It is the
water that going to change your life forever. And you fixate your mind onto H2O still because it's
going to give you thirst over and over and over again. It is there to tell you you need more. You
need more. I'm wondering sometimes guys, have you ever wondered why all the bad food tastes
good? Why McDonald tastes so maybe my wife think differently you know or put it different way. Why
do you always crave something and that something is actually bad for us? I wish broccoli is taste
nicer so that I can always eat vegetables, right? I wish all all the good things in the world is
actually I can crave for and I remember when I when I was born I drank only the milk from my mom.
I didn't have a craving for Coca-Cola. Right. That was a learned experience. And I nobody nobody put
the tortured with Coca-Cola, drink it, you know. Nobody did that. I put the Coca-Cola into my mouth
and make myself to what? Crave for it. Desire was formed by my choice. Does it make sense here? See,
in our allout thirst, why are we thirsting for something? Maybe there's a deeper reason behind
the all the things why why men craving for sexual immorality. You know last years you looking back
how many time all the boys you failed and you felt so like these women want to hide from the
crowd and you feel like you don't deserve and but yet that thirst never really disappear. You want
that intimacy. You want that joy. you want that that that was the um epic kind of a hormonic kind
of a experience and you you want that and once you quench it yeah I got it but next day you
wanted more do you see that pattern in your life everything you ask for I want to be rich I want
to be happy I want to be healthy nothing wrong with that in that like a face value nothing wrong
with that but deep inside in your heart of heart the reason you want is you want to be satisfied,
you want to be secure, that's why you want to be rich, you want to be satisfied and uh you want to
be significant and all those kind of thing comes in your heart and that is so addictive and Jesus
saying you'll never get rid of the thirst until you know the living water. living water. Jesus me.
He's saying me. You need me. You need me. You need to desire me. You need to have the thirst for me.
The problem is here today, right? You think that I don't have the thirst. That means that I'm not
really, you know, beyond your children. You I'm not really invited into your kingdom. No, no, no.
That's not what it is. If you really understand the sovereign grace actually works in your heart
and give you the thirst as well. He gives you desire as well. But you have to agree with it.
And that conversation between this the Jesus and women and expose that too. And his goes on,
the woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to
draw water." She still doesn't get it right. I think this is very important point though.
What she wants is that I want to comfort. I don't want to come back here again. And I mean modern
day is that this word doesn't really mean much to you. But what she basically wants, can you
make my life easy? Yeah. What Jesus was saying is, hey, I'm going to give you more than H2O,
right? I'm going to give you eternal life and all that, but she say, um, I'm not interested,
but can you give me my life more comfortable? What he was she was saying is I want the benefit
of what you giving me, but not you. One of the greatest relationship breaker is desiring the
gift more than the giver. The situation like that like works in parenting. Oh, it's my family story.
My my my brother my brothers in their like in their 30 40s and we were living Australia. They
were living in Korea. And one day my brother uh who's non-Christian one of them non-Christian by
the way he called never talked to my parents and out of Bulu just called him and saying mom I need
money all right and it's like almost sound like you owe me the money that kind of thing my dad
got cut I never seen my mom and that my dad was so cold to my own brother oh she was always be guilty
not bringing my own brother to uh to do Australia or it's my fault Oh my fault, my fault like that.
But when he actually out of blue haven't talked to him for years and called him and mom can you give
me money and they were like uh felt like okay I think the the impression I got was they felt very
abused and I know but still my mom was okay okay still we should give him and my dad was so ang
we cannot enable him constantly and all that thing and I felt sort of that was before I got married
have kids. I felt a bit oh man your parents you should if you have money you should give or also
like my brother like you know you you you messed up person man why why you abusing your parents
like that so I'll be very neutral then I became a parents all right sorry sky and n once again
I just honest truth one of the greatest thing I struggle in my entire life I can start church 10
times again the hardest thing one of the Hardest thing is a church starting church in them. But you
know what? I don't think I can do parenting again. Parenting is so hard. You know why? Because they
mean more than anything in this world and they come to you, right? And also when they grow up
and they change and they become a person before I tell them they do you know that's easy but season
comes they have their own thought their purpose their idea their willpower their plan and all
that that collide with mine and my wife's you know all that stuff and then relationship form
it changed there are times my wife felt like said it's not about my children but I think all of you
guys same thing to your parents. She said, "I feel like I'm a ATM. They only come to me. They
don't they don't they love us, right?" But that's how parents even parents the people who are who
have a DNA to love people unconditionally can feel like that. Do you get what I'm saying? If
parents feel like this, husband and wife, man, you have no hope if you don't understand this.
If one person is say I like getting married to you but I don't like you. If that's a kind of concept
I love having this marriage with you, the benefit of marriage, having a home, having a place to go,
having, you know, all the security and significant someone who tell me I'm always right. You know
that kind of person thing. You know that deal. But you know what? Not you. You know, I'm not
interested in your interest. I'm not interested in what you want. You know, it just give me what
I want. That relationship is so toxic and broken. Do you what I'm saying here? And in biblical term,
I think biblical term it is called sin. You want God, the benefit of God. All the air you breathe,
all the water you drink, all the life you have, all the things that you can enjoy,
but God, I don't want you. I don't even know you. Rejection and saying, I am the God of my own. I
want my comfort. I want my own world. I want what I want when I want. Give me the comfort.
That is a huge issue between you and God and anybody everywhere else. So Jesus is
exposing this, right? Jesus exposing and you're going to shock you if you
read it in a fresh eyes. So when he said she says, "Okay, you're the living one.
I want that. Give me the so that I don't have to come back again." And then Jesus said this
I'm sorry um if you go read on and the disciple had the same thing as well right he and they want
they don't see what Jesus see and Jesus says you know my food is to do the will
of him who sent me and to accomplish work. So if you ask Jesus what's your full life,
Jesus full life is hey my full life is doing God's work. So it's like it's not me I what
I want but what God wants. That was his last prayer saying let your will be done. I know
what I want. I don't want to die on the cross. I don't want to be humiliated and
die like a sufferer but not my will your will be done because that's my full life.
So Jesus said to the woman
with another um question and demand. She said he said to Jesus said to her go call
your husband and come here. The woman answered him I have no husband. Jesus
said to her you are right in saying I have no husband for you have had five
husband and the one you now have is not your husband. what you have. That is true.
So guys, Jesus is good at doing this. He's saying, "Okay, you want the living water. No,
no, no, no, no. You want the comfort, don't you?" And he also saying,
"I can see you tried husbands after husband." I mean even in those these days that like a
kind of a standard five husband is a bit a bit a lot right but we don't know we don't
know whether it's a death or divorce or what not but you know why she was hiding from the
crowd you can see now she was not really you know have a good reputation Jesus right there
straight up you think the husband that someone else in this world can truly give you the living
water don't you think in your life seeking after another security, another significant.
And you know, she didn't even say, "Oh, I'm I'm a sixth husband." She said, "The one I" She said,
"I don't have a husband. She's still open, right?" And Jesus said, "Yeah,
the one that you're with now is not your husband either." Hey guys, when you ask converse with God,
you need to go to this place. You need to really dig out until God really confront
you. Who's your husband? You know, who's been giving you in your mind that true satisfaction?
who's been that the person in your heart that you know that truly make you happy.
And please do not judge this woman too easily because you don't know her life. You don't
know her ups and downs. Just like you should not too harsh on yourself either. Do not be harsh on
yourself, but please be honest yourself. Please be honest yourself. You need to bring it to God. God,
I got one life for you. And I want to live in the fool exactly the way you wanted, but I don't know.
What a conversation starter, isn't it? What a way to come to God. God, you tell me what you
desire in my life. What does it look like the full life you have for me? you go with that. Mind you,
it doesn't necessarily mean you God wants you to be poor, miserable, unhappy, you know,
alone. It's not what God wants. God wants you to be happy, joyful, and abundantly rich and all that
thing is there. But you need to go deeper and really be honest and you have to help me. Don't
you think this is a great conversation between you two in the house church and in your prayer?
Don't come to the presence with in God with a presupposition either. Right? God will expose it
brutally. Trust me, God knows your heart. Rather, this is what I how I pray guys. God, I want your
kingdom increase, but I am struggling with my kingdom to grow first. Can you help my desire,
God? I'm seeking different thing. I'm craving. I'm thirsty for different thing. What's wrong with
my thirst? I'm not going to fake before God and pray for the peace of the world when I thirstful
about my husband.
Let's read on. Well, Spurgeon said this. Christ has different doors for entering into different
people's souls. Into some he enters by the understanding. Into many by the affections,
to some he comes by way of fear, to another by that of hope, and to this woman he came by way
of her conscience. So he's going to come to you a bit different way. Everyone have a different
picture in your full life and it would it's going to take a whole month. It's going to
take a whole year. Who cares, right? But I need you to be that person who knows how to sit next
to Jesus by the world and have a conversation with God. My biggest issue with some of you guys,
you left it too long by some event or opportunity or some chance. I'm going to go to camp and fix my
life and oh I you know I I'm going to just I want to wait to feel like doing it. Those kind of thing
is should stop if you want to grow in maturity. come into his presence every day and live on your
life. But you come on that builtin that habit that you always build the the craving for I
need to be there because Jesus is waiting for me. That that that season you need to go through right
and what happened in me now you know on Sunday I wake up 6:30 at 6:00 because of the habit I have
built. It's just sometimes obviously annoying because I want to sleep in right but my body
now doesn't treat that I want to wake up early in the morning to pray as a threat that took it as a
more comfort right so what women wants oh I give me comfort meaning is that she her default mode
was that I don't want to draw this water walk so much and uh and work so hard you know that that
whole default mode and your brain always push that direction and what you need to you have
to rewire your brain by putting your body into certain discipline. So Bible is not grace is not
uh the opposite of effort. Again effort grace is opposite of earning. You need to work with
the Holy Spirit. So this sermon today is basically sermon of the whole entire 2026. You need to come
in. Come into the presence of God. If you want to get the benefit of today's sermon,
you get the benefit. True benefit. End of 2026. Amen. It means nothing. You feel sitting there
saying, "Oh, that was a great sermon." Yeah. You walk away, you forget. How many times have
you circle around there? I see the Samaritan Samaritan woman straight up. How many times
she comes to the well doing it again? How many husbands she exchanged it and she never allowed
God to enter in her life.
This is going to my last um the verse. I'm going to finish it off here. The woman said to him,
"Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worship on this mountain,
but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship." Jesus said to her woman,
"Believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship
the father. Uh you worship what you do not know. We worship what we know. For salvation is from me,
Jews." I lied. One more. But the hour is coming and is now here when the true worshippers will
worship the father in spirit and truth. For the father is seeking such people
to worship him. God is spirit and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
The conversation led to the place where finally this woman interest in how do I worship? I can
see that you're different person. Finally she got that. Then how do I worship? She is a believer I
guess believer in God fearer but she doesn't know how to worship and Jesus saying I'm here what
I've done to you for all of you you will worship God in spirit and truth everybody say spirit and
truth spirit and truth some are focusing on the spirit only some are focusing on truth only god
wants both of them and also the truth it means bit different to think double meaning in their truth
the biblical truth that according to what God who God is knowing God right but also truthful heart
you need to come to God and only way God will be worshiped is a true spirit and truth it's not
going to be bound by the building it's not going to bound by a day it's not bound by the race or
gender or status rich or poor or high and low or anybody whoever Whoever believes in Jesus Christ,
they will be saved. That is truth and spirit. Spirit and truth. I dream about that community.
And my full life 2026 is a year whenever we come together on Sunday, we be able to worship God
like this. I love seeing the people like I love city campus man. You sing loud these days. Oh, I
love it. Right. and singing excited about God and encourage each other whenever you come. But what
I really desire is you come and hear the truth. That's why we read the Bible. Yeah. And also
that's time we confess before the Lord because we want to be truthful before God. And my prayer
to you is you will be different. Although it is one degree difference or 0.1 degree difference,
there's some form of impact in your life when you come to church on Sunday and when you walk away
and your life, your marriage, your church, your house church, your work will be changed because
of the life that God has given to you. And you get that through the Sunday service. Can you say amen?
So let's worship God in truth and and spirit and truth. Let's pray.
All right guys, so the pattern we're going to have is every day we're going to read the Bible,
the book of John. And if you come on EMP your natural will finish the John
together and through there that you will hear from the Lord. Guys do not make your
Christian journey as a just some form of excitement and some form of this
uh um this performance right you need to come to the presence of God and make it about your life.
We're going to preach one sermon throughout the whole month of January. We're going to hear the
word of God together whole month. You will go home today, but I don't want you to just go
home and forget about it. What God has spoken to you started in your heart. Why don't you let your
heart be prepared for tomorrow morning and the day after? The day after. Let your body submit
to your willpower and let your body submit to the spirit and see what happened after 21 days.
We need to know how to sit still in the presence of it's not it's
not the the let's pray to God as we begin 2026. Ask God what's my full life? God,
what do you want in my life? Can you pray like that? Let's pray.
[Music]

Father God, we thank you. Thank you for allowing us to witness this great conversation Jesus and
a samarine woman have this nameless face woman. This woman who have so much baggage in her life
encounter Jesus acknowledge him as the Christ and the savior of the world at the end. Lord,
Father God, that same Jesus sitting amongst us and leading us, guiding us into that
conversation. Lord, would you teach us how to be truly honest, truly truthful in our worship,
in our prayer, in our life. You come in the very hour of a vulnerability,
in the hour of desire. Lord, would you address to us the deep secret we've been hiding,
Lord God? And also give us the strength to overcome. Give us the power to live our life
in full fullness of Jesus Christ. Come into our life, Lord God, through this season. Oh God,
we are excited about this 2026 because you are great God. You are kind God. You are amazing,
generous God. And you have opened up this new season. Thank you Lord God. We boldly walking
into this blessing, this journey, this joy in Jesus name we pray. Everyone says amen.
All right. Will you turn someone sitting next to you and say Show up on EMP. Show up on EMP.
All right, guys. You know what I'm trying to do, right? You know what I'm trying to do is a whole
21 days long sermon, right? We all going to go together and hopefully we all just join in and
you get the benefit out of it. All right, let's uh finish it off with a benediction
and uh we'll send it off um with a blessing. As we finish our Sunday service and worship,
I urge you to continue worship in your daily life in what you do, what you say, what you think, give
God living sacrifice. So may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and fellowship
of the Holy Spirit be with you now and forever. Everyone says, "Amen." And happy new year, guys.
