0:02 Today I'm going to talk about the four
0:05 important things to do for better time
0:08 management. The four important things to
0:11 do for better time management. The very
0:13 first important thing to do for better
0:15 time management is to be very clear
0:17 about what it is you want to accomplish.
0:19 You see, the more focused that your
0:21 goals are and the clearer that your
0:24 goals are, you will actually waste a lot
0:27 less time. You'll avoid going around in
0:30 circles. Proverbs the 6:6 says, "Go to
0:33 the ant, O sluggood. Consider her ways
0:36 and be wise. Without having any chief,
0:39 officer or ruler, she prepares her bread
0:42 in summer, and gathers her food in
0:45 harvest. How long will you lie there, oh
0:47 sluggood, when will you arise from your
0:49 sleep?" A little sleep, a little
0:52 slumber, little folding of the hands to
0:55 rest. This key verse talks about the the
0:58 way the ant works. The ant is very
1:00 diligent and the ant is also very
1:03 disciplined. One of the key things that
1:05 this verse talks about the ant, the ant
1:08 is very judicious with its time. The ant
1:11 doesn't waste any time and the ant is
1:14 very judicious with its time. When
1:15 you're very clear about what it is you
1:17 want to accomplish, one of the things
1:19 that you will avoid doing is filling
1:20 your schedule with things that don't
1:22 belong. You see, the more focused you
1:25 are about what you want to accomplish is
1:27 going to help you target and use your
1:29 time in the right direction. You know,
1:30 you're going to avoid going around in
1:33 circles because you have very specific
1:36 things to accomplish. When anyone knows
1:38 where he or she is going, one of the
1:40 things that does for that person is to
1:43 help that person be very targeted and
1:45 focused. You will avoid winging away
1:47 time because you have very clear things
1:50 that need to be accomplished. My very
1:52 first important thing to do to ensure
1:55 that you have good time management is to
1:57 be very clear about what it is you want
1:59 to accomplish and learn to write things
2:00 down. One of the things I want to
2:02 encourage you to do is to have a to-do
2:05 list for your day, for your week, for
2:07 your month. Have very clear things that
2:09 it is you want to accomplish. It's going
2:11 to help you target your time and use
2:14 your time in a very judicious way.
2:17 Again, Proverbs 6:6 talks about the ant.
2:19 This key verse tell talks about the ant.
2:22 The ant prepares her bread in summer and
2:25 gathers her food in harvest. The the ant
2:28 is very judicious and productive with
2:30 its time. The second key thing to do to
2:33 avoid wasting time is to develop the
2:35 skills that you need for the things that
2:38 you need to accomplish. You see, you'll
2:40 waste time when you don't have the
2:42 necessary skills needed to accomplish
2:44 your work. One of the things you may
2:46 catch yourself doing is taking longer to
2:48 get things done because your skills are
2:51 not developed. Ecclesiastes 10:1 says,
2:54 "If an axe head is blunt and a workman
2:57 does not sharpen its edge, he must exert
3:01 a great deal of effort. So wisdom has
3:03 the advantage of giving success." This
3:05 verse talks about when your axe is
3:07 blunt, when the tools that you're using
3:09 are not sharpened, when the tools that
3:11 you are using are not effective, it's
3:13 going to take you longer to accomplish
3:16 what it is you want to to do. One of the
3:17 things that you'll find is that if
3:19 you're taking longer to get certain
3:21 things done, whether it's in your
3:23 schoolwork, whether it's in your career,
3:24 one of the things I want to encourage
3:27 you to do is to develop your skills in
3:30 that particular area. The more developed
3:32 your skills are, you'll find that it
3:34 it's going to take you less time to
3:36 accomplish the work. It takes you so
3:39 much longer to get things done when your
3:41 skills are not sharpened and when your
3:43 skills are not developed. My second
3:45 important guidance to help you use your
3:47 time effectively is to sharpen your
3:50 skills and to develop your skills in the
3:52 areas where you notice that you're
3:54 taking a lot more time to get things
3:56 done. The third important key items to
3:59 help you use your time effectively is to
4:02 pick your friends wisely. Some friends
4:05 can be time wasters. Having the wrong
4:07 people around you in your circle of
4:09 influence can steal and rob you of your
4:12 time of your productive time. The wrong
4:16 associations can be a big distraction
4:19 and time stealers. Proverbs 12:26 says,
4:21 "The righteous choose their friends
4:23 carefully, but the way of the wicked
4:27 leads them astray." Proverbs 27:1 17
4:31 says, "As iron sharpened iron, so a
4:34 friend sharpens a friend. Your friends
4:37 make an impact in your life." Having the
4:39 wrong associations can be a big
4:43 distraction and a big time stealer. A
4:45 fourth key guidance on how to avoid
4:48 wasting time is to not to try to be
4:51 everywhere and to do everything. Pick
4:54 the things you do strategically. Make
4:55 sure that you're not trying to do
4:58 everything and be everywhere. Always
5:00 govern your time using a schedule and
5:02 don't fill things in your schedule that
5:05 don't belong. You see, you can't be
5:08 everywhere and do everything and be
5:11 productive. Psalm 90:12 says, "So teach
5:14 us to number our days so that we can
5:17 apply our heart with wisdom." It's
5:18 important to always remember that you
5:21 can't be busy about everything and be
5:23 productive. You want to ensure that you
5:26 are strategic with your time and only
5:27 put things on your schedule that will
5:29 affect the bottom line. To be
5:31 productive, you must create zero
5:34 tolerance for meaningless work. Always
5:36 remember that as a Christian, you're
5:37 going to give an account to God with how
5:39 you spend your time. You always want to
5:41 make sure that you're applying your time
5:44 judiciously and prioritizing your time
5:47 and prioritizing your schedule.
5:48 Remember, you always want to be
5:50 productive. You always want to be
5:52 fruitful. And I want to encourage you to
5:55 prioritize your time. Make sure you
5:57 always prioritize your schedule.
5:59 Prioritize your time. What does it mean
6:01 to prioritize? To prioritize means that
6:04 everything does not have the same
6:06 importance. Make sure you prioritize
6:08 giving giving the right priority to
6:10 everything on your schedule. The most
6:12 important thing goes first and it make
6:14 sure everything follows in the right
6:17 order. When you prioritize your your
6:19 time, making sure you focus what it
6:21 needs to accomplish at the very top of
6:23 your schedule and everything else that's
6:24 secondary. You want to make sure that
6:27 you prioritize your schedule. Always
6:28 remember that not everything has the
6:31 same level of importance. The more you
6:33 learn how to prioritize your time is
6:34 going to help you to be more judicious
6:37 with your time and manage your time
6:39 effectively. Remember you are
6:40 constrained with time. Remember time is
6:43 not an unlimited resource. Every one of
6:46 us has limited amount of time and you
6:49 want to use your time very judiciously.
6:51 A wise man or wise woman determines what
6:54 he or she needs to accomplish and he or
6:57 she aortions his or her time in the
6:59 right direction. You can't do everything
7:01 and be everywhere and land in a
7:04 productive place. All that I've shared
7:06 today has helped you understand how to
7:09 be productive and how to use your time
7:11 effectively. Remember time is not an
7:14 unlimited resource. you have an very
7:15 limited amount of time and you want to
7:18 be productive and be disciplined with
7:21 how you use your time every day. I want
7:22 to say thank you for tuning in with me
