Today I'm going to talk about the four
important things to do for better time
management. The four important things to
do for better time management. The very
first important thing to do for better
time management is to be very clear
about what it is you want to accomplish.
You see, the more focused that your
goals are and the clearer that your
goals are, you will actually waste a lot
less time. You'll avoid going around in
circles. Proverbs the 6:6 says, "Go to
the ant, O sluggood. Consider her ways
and be wise. Without having any chief,
officer or ruler, she prepares her bread
in summer, and gathers her food in
harvest. How long will you lie there, oh
sluggood, when will you arise from your
sleep?" A little sleep, a little
slumber, little folding of the hands to
rest. This key verse talks about the the
way the ant works. The ant is very
diligent and the ant is also very
disciplined. One of the key things that
this verse talks about the ant, the ant
is very judicious with its time. The ant
doesn't waste any time and the ant is
very judicious with its time. When
you're very clear about what it is you
want to accomplish, one of the things
that you will avoid doing is filling
your schedule with things that don't
belong. You see, the more focused you
are about what you want to accomplish is
going to help you target and use your
time in the right direction. You know,
you're going to avoid going around in
circles because you have very specific
things to accomplish. When anyone knows
where he or she is going, one of the
things that does for that person is to
help that person be very targeted and
focused. You will avoid winging away
time because you have very clear things
that need to be accomplished. My very
first important thing to do to ensure
that you have good time management is to
be very clear about what it is you want
to accomplish and learn to write things
down. One of the things I want to
encourage you to do is to have a to-do
list for your day, for your week, for
your month. Have very clear things that
it is you want to accomplish. It's going
to help you target your time and use
your time in a very judicious way.
Again, Proverbs 6:6 talks about the ant.
This key verse tell talks about the ant.
The ant prepares her bread in summer and
gathers her food in harvest. The the ant
is very judicious and productive with
its time. The second key thing to do to
avoid wasting time is to develop the
skills that you need for the things that
you need to accomplish. You see, you'll
waste time when you don't have the
necessary skills needed to accomplish
your work. One of the things you may
catch yourself doing is taking longer to
get things done because your skills are
not developed. Ecclesiastes 10:1 says,
"If an axe head is blunt and a workman
does not sharpen its edge, he must exert
a great deal of effort. So wisdom has
the advantage of giving success." This
verse talks about when your axe is
blunt, when the tools that you're using
are not sharpened, when the tools that
you are using are not effective, it's
going to take you longer to accomplish
what it is you want to to do. One of the
things that you'll find is that if
you're taking longer to get certain
things done, whether it's in your
schoolwork, whether it's in your career,
one of the things I want to encourage
you to do is to develop your skills in
that particular area. The more developed
your skills are, you'll find that it
it's going to take you less time to
accomplish the work. It takes you so
much longer to get things done when your
skills are not sharpened and when your
skills are not developed. My second
important guidance to help you use your
time effectively is to sharpen your
skills and to develop your skills in the
areas where you notice that you're
taking a lot more time to get things
done. The third important key items to
help you use your time effectively is to
pick your friends wisely. Some friends
can be time wasters. Having the wrong
people around you in your circle of
influence can steal and rob you of your
time of your productive time. The wrong
associations can be a big distraction
and time stealers. Proverbs 12:26 says,
"The righteous choose their friends
carefully, but the way of the wicked
leads them astray." Proverbs 27:1 17
says, "As iron sharpened iron, so a
friend sharpens a friend. Your friends
make an impact in your life." Having the
wrong associations can be a big
distraction and a big time stealer. A
fourth key guidance on how to avoid
wasting time is to not to try to be
everywhere and to do everything. Pick
the things you do strategically. Make
sure that you're not trying to do
everything and be everywhere. Always
govern your time using a schedule and
don't fill things in your schedule that
don't belong. You see, you can't be
everywhere and do everything and be
productive. Psalm 90:12 says, "So teach
us to number our days so that we can
apply our heart with wisdom." It's
important to always remember that you
can't be busy about everything and be
productive. You want to ensure that you
are strategic with your time and only
put things on your schedule that will
affect the bottom line. To be
productive, you must create zero
tolerance for meaningless work. Always
remember that as a Christian, you're
going to give an account to God with how
you spend your time. You always want to
make sure that you're applying your time
judiciously and prioritizing your time
and prioritizing your schedule.
Remember, you always want to be
productive. You always want to be
fruitful. And I want to encourage you to
prioritize your time. Make sure you
always prioritize your schedule.
Prioritize your time. What does it mean
to prioritize? To prioritize means that
everything does not have the same
importance. Make sure you prioritize
giving giving the right priority to
everything on your schedule. The most
important thing goes first and it make
sure everything follows in the right
order. When you prioritize your your
time, making sure you focus what it
needs to accomplish at the very top of
your schedule and everything else that's
secondary. You want to make sure that
you prioritize your schedule. Always
remember that not everything has the
same level of importance. The more you
learn how to prioritize your time is
going to help you to be more judicious
with your time and manage your time
effectively. Remember you are
constrained with time. Remember time is
not an unlimited resource. Every one of
us has limited amount of time and you
want to use your time very judiciously.
A wise man or wise woman determines what
he or she needs to accomplish and he or
she aortions his or her time in the
right direction. You can't do everything
and be everywhere and land in a
productive place. All that I've shared
today has helped you understand how to
be productive and how to use your time
effectively. Remember time is not an
unlimited resource. you have an very
limited amount of time and you want to
be productive and be disciplined with
how you use your time every day. I want
