Millennials are contributing to a declining U.S. divorce rate by delaying marriage until they achieve educational, career, and financial stability, and by being more selective in choosing partners.

so they say Millennials are blamed for
darn near everything right from killing
off real phone conversations to killing
off dining experiences with our love for
eats and whatnot
well now guess what Millennials are
being blamed for killing divorced that's
a good thing a new data from the
University of Maryland show younger
couples are approaching relationships
very differently from baby boomers who
married young divorced remarried and so
on Generation X and especially
Millennials are being pickier about who
they marry tying the knot at older ages
when education careers and finances are
on track now the result is a u.s.
divorce rate that dropped 18 percent
from 2008 to 2016 so that is good news
but I feel like there's also a downside
here ah what's the downside the downside
is that there's no commitment when it
comes to Millennials they're not trying
to commit as quickly they're not they're
not even trying to commit at all because
social media has again and I say this
every time has ruined things because
everyone thinks they have options it's
like yet tender bumble inch non-stop I
think it creates unrealistic
expectations of your other partners so
therefore you will never find the you
will never find one it just takes longer
for you to find the one come after yeah
it's like an ongoing Seinfeld episode
about why Millennials were waiting
longer than me and and exactly what you
said they're being more careful
obviously if the divorce rates going
down they are being more selective but
there's also all those options like you
talked about and you had a few things to
say about the guys who were using those
options to just how to go anywhere and
everywhere and have these superficial
relationships and not really commit so I
think it's great to be picky yeah I mean
sometimes people you know when when
divorce rates were high people just
jumping into marriage and finding things
out about their partner after they got
married and you should know those things
before you get married so I think you
care I think be pickier take your time
with a relationship this analysis also
pointed to the fact that you have older
people boomers being a little they're
mellowing out a little bit and they're
not you know they don't want to you know
hits a divorce button as quickly and so
that is one of the reasons why the
divorce rate is on the decline
as well younger folks have learned
they've watched their parents generation
get divorced it's it's weird how like
well Jerry knows like my generation just
almost spot-on with the stuff that he
said because I have kids you're right exactly
exactly
