1:07 So let's begin our SEO journey. Well, as
1:10 I mentioned that this course is for
1:13 freshers to advanced level. So let's try
1:15 to learn things right from the scratch.
1:19 What exactly is SEO all about? So SEO is
1:21 nothing but we'll just begin with the
1:23 full form which is search engine
1:26 optimization. So now what are the
1:28 different types of search engines?
1:30 Everybody is aware about Google right?
1:32 So you would have done lot of searches
1:35 on Google but apart from Google do you
1:36 guys know that there are so many other
1:39 search engines in the world. So for
1:42 example I can name a few. Google is the
1:44 primary one that everybody uses in
1:46 India. But apart from Google, there's
1:49 Bing, there's Yahoo, there's Doug,
1:52 there's AOL, Yandex, BU, there are so
1:54 many other search engines that are
1:56 giving results to your queries. So now
1:59 what exactly is SEO? Let's try to find
2:01 out. So SEO as the term says, search
2:04 engine optimization. So optimizing
2:07 things on search engines. So every
2:10 website every website which is live so
2:12 we need to do some optimization on those
2:15 website to get them on top of Google or
2:17 you can say on first page of Google
2:20 because unless and until you're not able
2:22 to get the website on first page of
2:24 Google nobody is going to come to your
2:26 website. So the traffic the traffic
2:28 means when somebody's clicking on your
2:30 website and coming to your website
2:32 right. So when somebody's entering a
2:35 keyword on any search engine, you see
2:37 lot of searches appearing there. So
2:38 there are so many websites which appear
2:40 there and only the websites which are
2:43 ranking on top get some traffic and that
2:45 traffic is called as organic traffic
2:47 because unless and until you don't get
2:49 traffic onto your website, how are you
2:52 going to generate the revenue, right? So
2:54 that's something that we'll be learning
2:56 that how to get a websites on top of
2:59 search engine. This process is called as
3:02 SEO. So let's deep dive into this and
3:05 let's try to learn more.
3:07 So I welcome to all the future marketing
3:09 leaders. Today we are going to take the
3:12 first step into the exciting world of
3:14 search engine optimization. So I want
3:16 you guys to get ready to transform the
3:19 way you think uh the way you think you
3:22 know the online thing work or the online
3:24 visibility with search engines work and
3:26 we will kickstart and begin a journey
3:28 from googling to getting hired. Well,
3:30 this is a properly curated course which
3:32 will help you guys to be job ready. So
3:34 that when you guys are going out for
3:36 jobs in your interviews also, you will
3:38 see that these are the things that they
3:41 would be asking and this will definitely
3:42 help you to crack your interview and get
3:46 some good package jobs. So now let's
3:48 move to the next slide. So your first
3:50 step into the world of SEO guys from
3:52 Googling to getting hired. So just a fun
3:55 fact here. Did you know every second
3:58 over 99,000 searches so this is
4:01 typically every second over 99,000
4:03 searches happen on Google and that's
4:05 quite a lot that's a lot of people
4:06 looking for answers products and
4:09 services now you guys can just think
4:11 about it how many times in a day do you
4:13 Google thing or Google something in a
4:16 day right so usually I would say that I
4:18 google things around five to six times
4:21 in a day so just multiply this with the
4:23 population of India right within India
4:25 itself. You can see a lot of people are
4:27 using search engines to find their
4:29 answers. Now, let me just show you an
4:32 example for uh SEO. So, now let's say
4:34 that I went to this website uh went to
4:36 the search engine and now I'm searching
4:38 for a term which is digital marketing
4:41 course. The moment when I search for any
4:43 term here, do you see the first thing
4:47 that you will see here is AI overview
4:50 which is also called as AIO. So you see
4:52 you will find some uh quick information
4:54 about your term that you're searching
4:55 here the search term that you're
4:57 searching and after that you will see
4:59 some sponsored results coming in. So
5:01 wherever you see sponsored like you will
5:04 see digifine academy LLP and then the
5:06 other sponsored result which is PW
5:08 skills and the other one which is
5:10 digital training right so these people
5:12 have paid to Google so these are called
5:15 as paid ads they are paying to Google to
5:17 get themsel on top as I earlier
5:19 mentioned unless and until your website
5:22 is not coming up on top your website is
5:26 not going to get any traffic and uh so
5:28 people get traffic by the means of paid
5:30 ads which is also called as Google ads
5:34 or PPC. And now the SEO results you see
5:36 Udemy is ranking up on top. So they are
5:38 not paying anything to Google. They have
5:41 optimized their website in such a way
5:44 that when somebody is searching for any
5:46 kind of term which is related to their
5:48 website or website pages, they are
5:50 ranking organically. So when I say
5:52 organically, it means it is ranking up
5:55 for free. And every business wants to
5:58 rank their website on top of search
6:00 engines for free. And ranking your
6:02 website, the process of ranking your
6:05 website on the top of search engine is
6:07 called as SEO. And you guys have to rank
6:09 it organically. You don't have to pay
6:11 anything to Google. You just have to
6:13 optimize the website accordingly. So
6:15 let's take an example. Now let's say
6:18 that you have constructed a house
6:22 without taking an taking you know
6:24 advisory consulting of any of the
6:26 architects right so there are
6:28 construction engineers there are
6:29 architects and you have not consulted
6:31 them while creating or building your
6:33 house but now after creating a house you
6:36 see that the paint is fading or maybe
6:38 there are some leakages in the building
6:41 right so you never consulted anyone now
6:43 what you do you go ahead and you call a
6:45 construction engineer er or an architect
6:48 and you explain your issue to them. So
6:50 now they look into your house properly
6:52 and then they recommend things like okay
6:54 so there are the cement is not proper
6:56 the housing structure is not good or xyz
6:59 reasons right. So after doing that now
7:00 you will see that your house is properly
7:02 constructed and there are no further
7:05 issues. In the same way whenever you are
7:07 building website. So guys see you can
7:10 build website without uh consulting an
7:12 SEO person also but it is the same thing
7:14 which is going to happen with the
7:17 example of the house which I gave right.
7:19 So you constructed a website without
7:22 consulting any SEO consultant or SEO
7:23 professional. Right? The website is
7:25 built but now you are seeing that the
7:27 website is not coming or not ranking on
7:29 Google and the purpose of building a
7:32 website is completely wasted. So now
7:34 what you're going to do now you will go
7:36 to SEO consultant or SEO professional
7:38 and you will ask them to audit your
7:41 website and then optimize it for search
7:43 engines. Then only your website is going
7:45 to rank up on search engines. So the
7:48 process of optimizing there are so many
7:50 other types that we'll be learning right
7:52 from keyword research. So there are
7:54 different types of SEO guys. So the
7:56 first one uh the first step of SEO is
7:58 keyword research and the second one is
8:01 onpage SEO. The third one is off-page
8:04 SEO and fourth is technical SEO. Apart
8:05 from all these types of SEO, we will
8:07 also learn about what are the different
8:10 tools that is used to do SEO and what
8:11 are the different kind of projects that
8:13 we can do. So we'll be also discussing
8:15 couple of live projects for you guys to
8:18 do it into the assignments. So now when
8:20 you're searching for any term here, so
8:21 digital marketing course you will see
8:23 Udemy coming up on top grow with Google
8:26 HubSpot Academy. So when you click on
8:28 them and when you visit their website,
8:29 so what you're doing, you're giving an
8:33 organic traffic to that website. So this
8:36 process is all about SEO. Now let's try
8:40 to learn a bit more deeper into SEO.
8:42 All right. So as I mentioned, what is
8:44 SEO? It is a science and an art of
8:45 getting website to show up on Google
8:47 without paying for ads. As I mentioned,
8:50 organically for free. It's all about
8:52 making your content discoverable. And
8:54 when you search on Google, so it's a
8:56 question for yourself guys. So whenever
8:58 you're searching things on Google,
9:00 searching for any search term on Google,
9:02 so do you usually click on ads at the
9:04 top or organic results below? So you
9:06 guys can share your thoughts. So
9:07 initially, let's say that if I'm a
9:09 student and I'm searching for something
9:11 which is digital marketing course and I
9:13 definitely want to buy a digital
9:14 marketing course, I would definitely
9:16 click on something which is sponsored
9:17 here. And let's say if I'm just
9:20 exploring so I can simply click on Udemy
9:22 grow with Google Hubspot Academy or
9:24 Corsera all of the results which are
9:26 organic results. So depending on the
9:28 nature of the person or the nature of
9:30 the business the person will click
9:33 right. So that's something depends from
9:38 person to person. Okay. So uh why SEO is
9:40 important guys. So from a business angle
9:41 and business perspective I would say
9:44 that SEO is very much important and
9:46 every business today is doing SEO. So in
9:49 case if you guys feel that there are
9:51 less SEO opportunities trust me guys
9:54 there are so many SEO opportunities
9:56 everywhere wherever you see a website
9:59 live. So it means that website is being
10:02 operated by some SEO professional. So
10:04 SEO gives you free traffic. So SEO
10:06 brings consistent highquality visitors
10:08 to your site without direct advertising
10:11 cost. Just imagine this scenario. Let's
10:13 say that you are in Mumbai and you're
10:15 looking out for a famous biryani in
10:17 Mumbai. So now let's say when you go on
10:19 streets and when you're asking people,
10:21 hey can you please tell me which is the
10:23 famous biryani in Mumbai. So now you're
10:25 going uh they will be recommending you
10:28 some stores like X store, A store, B
10:29 store and all. So now you will be going
10:31 there. So when you're searching for
10:33 things organically, right? So there is a
10:35 high chance that you will go to their
10:37 website. And when it comes to paid ads,
10:39 so when you're forcing people to click
10:40 on your website and showing their
10:41 results, there is a less chance of
10:43 conversion. So when you search for
10:45 things and go to a website, there are
10:47 high chances of converting. Conversion
10:50 means you're taking some action either
10:52 subscribing or maybe signing up to a
10:54 newsletter or maybe buying or doing
10:55 anything, right? So that is called as a
10:58 conversion onto the website. And now the
11:00 other step I would say SEO is important
11:03 for building a brand trust. So when your
11:05 website is ranking organically on top of
11:07 Google, it means that Google recognizes
11:09 your website and they trust your website
11:11 a lot. So that's why they're ranking
11:13 your website on top. So users often
11:15 perceive organic results as more
11:17 credible and authoritative than paid
11:20 advertisement. So there are so many paid
11:21 ads that come. Let's say that when
11:23 somebody is building a website, a new
11:26 website is built and now they want to
11:28 get some urgent traffic. So SEO takes
11:30 time. SEO is a slow process because it's
11:33 a organic process right so SEO kind
11:35 usually takes time but yeah when it
11:37 comes to paid ads so the moment your
11:40 website is live and you want some urgent
11:41 traffic coming in so that's the time you
11:44 will use paid ads but you know whenever
11:46 you are creating any website the best
11:49 strategy I would say is to do SEO plus
11:51 paid ads at the same time so which will
11:52 help you guys to get some good traffic
11:54 coming in to your website and the third
11:57 benefit I would say is SEO gives you
11:59 long-term ROI So unlike ads that stop
12:01 when your budget runs out. So the
12:04 biggest problem with paid ads is the
12:06 moment when your budget runs out, your
12:09 ads ads are going to stop. So with SEO,
12:11 it's not like that. So the moment when
12:14 you do good SEO on your website, your
12:16 website will be on top for a longer
12:18 period. So SEO efforts deliver
12:20 sustainable returns over time. So even
12:23 giants like Amazon, Amazon is a very big
12:26 website, right? So, Amazon usually
12:28 despite spending billions on ads, they
12:30 rely heavily on organic SEO for massive
12:32 traffic. So, have you ever clicked on a
12:34 product on Amazon directly from Google
12:37 search? Everybody has done right. So, everybody
12:38 everybody
12:40 watching this lecture, I'm sure that you
12:42 would have purchased something from
12:44 Amazon, Flipkart or Snapde this kind of
12:45 website, e-commerce website. So,
12:47 whenever you're searching for something,
12:48 you're you're seeing this website,
12:50 right? And then you're clicking on it.
12:53 So, that process is SEO. But as I
12:55 mentioned clicking on sponsored ad it is
12:57 a paid ads which is a different topic
12:59 which is also called as PPC. But yeah
13:01 when you're not clicking on something
13:04 which is not sponsored so that is called
13:07 as organic traffic.
13:10 So now why SEO is important from an
13:12 career angle guys? So SEO is one of the
13:14 most in demand digital skills in today's
13:17 job market. So mastering it opens doors
13:20 to diverse and exciting career path. So
13:21 there are different kind of job roles
13:24 that after learning this job ready
13:26 course you can apply for. So you can
13:28 apply for SEO analyst, content
13:31 specialist, digital marketing associate,
13:34 SEO executive and you can also get some
13:36 freelancing opportunities like to do a
13:39 website audit or do a local SEO for
13:41 small business content optimization.
13:42 Right? And here's a quick question. If
13:44 you could rank one business on Google
13:47 for free, let's consider a business for
13:49 your friend, your mom or maybe any of
13:51 your family members, right? So what
13:53 business would you like to set up on
13:56 Google? So that is called as local SEO
13:59 which we will be learning. So now if I
14:02 speak about certain um amount or I would
14:05 say a salary structure within SEO. So a
14:07 fresher usually with a good knowledge
14:09 within SEO and if you're able to crack
14:12 the interview usually your package will
14:14 start from three lakhs peranom in India
14:16 on an average three lakhs to four lakhs
14:19 peranom in India and after having one or
14:21 two years of experience definitely you
14:23 can jump to five LPA plus packages
14:25 within India. So guys trust me this
14:28 skill is very important and the more
14:30 digital the world is going it is a need
14:32 of getting more and more websites. the
14:34 more websites are coming in it means
14:37 there are more SEO opportunities growing
14:41 in right so now uh let's try to check so
14:43 I'll just uh show you guys an example of
14:46 a e-commerce uh listing or e-commerce
14:48 the way e-commerce functions so now
14:51 let's say that I want to buy digital
14:53 digital
14:55 uh camera
14:58 online so now when I'm searching for
15:00 this buy digital camera online you will
15:01 see these are the sponsored results so
15:03 these These are the shopping paid ads
15:05 which are coming up and then these are
15:07 the SEO results which are coming up and
15:09 after that again you will see Amazon
15:11 coming up on top, Flipkart coming up on
15:14 top, Chroma coming up on top. These are
15:17 coming up on top because of SEO. So this
15:20 is the power of SEO guys. So these
15:21 people are getting free traffic on your
15:23 website. So when somebody's searching
15:25 and visiting the website, they are
15:27 getting free traffic. They're not paying
15:29 anything to Google. So not only in
15:31 Google but yeah on other search engines
15:33 like let's say Bing. So I search for
15:36 Bing here.
15:38 Right. So when you are Bing is also a
15:45 So now let's say you're searching for
15:56 right so now let's see what kind of
15:58 results are coming in.
16:00 All right. So you will see Flipkart
16:02 coming in here and then Udemy DSLR
16:05 photography course well and then Amazon
16:09 DSLR cameras uh baj mall.in right. So
16:10 these people are coming up here because
16:14 of SEO right so on Bing because I have
16:16 not signed in so maybe I'm not able to
16:18 see any kind of sponsor results here but
16:21 yeah you see these are all organic SEO
16:24 results which are coming up on top. Now
16:26 let's try to understand a bit more so
16:30 that you guys uh get wellversed with the
16:32 SEO concept.
16:34 Now as I mentioned there are different
16:36 types of SEO. So the first one is onpage
16:39 SEO and then off-page SEO, then
16:41 technical SEO, local SEO and the first
16:44 step of SEO is keyword research. Right?
16:46 So we will also understand how to do a
16:48 keyword research and how to get people
16:50 who are searching for things. So now if
16:53 you're Google googling u best pizza near
16:56 me which type of SEO is most important.
16:58 So now whenever you're searching for any
17:00 uh location specific keywords like best
17:03 pizza near me right so when it comes to
17:06 pisa right I would say uh because this
17:08 is something which is uh you are
17:10 searching within your locality right so
17:14 it comes under local SEO so now on page
17:16 SEO guys uh we'll try to understand each
17:18 and everything using some real world
17:20 examples which will give you guys
17:23 clarity about the SEO concepts so now
17:26 when I say that local SEO So it is all
17:28 about searching things locally. It can
17:31 be piza coffee shop or maybe bike repair
17:33 showroom or anything. So near me kind of
17:36 keywords goes into local SEO and on page
17:38 SEO. So let's try to understand using an
17:42 example here. So I would say guys um
17:44 take an example just imagine that you
17:46 have got a
17:49 fast food center. So let's say your fast
17:52 food center name is uh Sadash fast foods
17:55 fast food center and my fast food center
17:57 deals with all kind of fast foods like
18:01 uh let's say masala dosa idli and
18:03 Chinese and everything. So all of the
18:05 things are available in my fast food
18:07 center. So now what exactly is on pages
18:10 here? See guys digital marketing is no
18:12 rocket science. Whatever activities were
18:14 being done before the evolution of
18:17 internet into the physical world, the
18:19 same activities are being carried online
18:22 with some hyphen names and terminologies
18:24 and it has been named as digital
18:26 marketing. So it is no rocket science
18:28 guys. If you are able to connect the
18:30 dots properly, you would be able to
18:32 understand what exactly is digital
18:34 marketing all about. So coming back to
18:36 the example, let's say I have got a fast
18:39 food corner, Sadashia fast food corner.
18:42 And now imagine there's no internet and
18:43 now there is a fast food corner and now
18:46 you want to drive traffic. Drive traffic
18:48 means get customers to your store. How
18:51 will you attract people? So now let's
18:53 say I'll put a very good name to my
18:56 store sadash fast food corner and then a
18:59 small tagline there like uh dosa or
19:01 maybe get the best dosas in town or get
19:03 the best fast food in town or in Mumbai.
19:05 So that would be a small tagline that
19:07 I'm putting up there. And then maybe to
19:09 attract people what I'll do, I'll put
19:11 some good images. I'll put some good
19:14 offers, discounts. I'll ensure that this
19:16 there's good seating, there's good
19:18 hygiene, cleanliness. I'm using uh
19:20 tissues. I'm using uh the sanitizer and
19:23 everything. I have got different uh
19:25 seating arrangement done, good painting
19:27 and everything. So all of these things
19:29 are going to attract people. So when
19:33 people are going going uh uh or passing
19:35 by my store or let's say there are five
19:37 six stores fast food corner but
19:38 everybody's seeing that there's some
19:40 good offers coming in onto Sadashia fast
19:42 food corner so what they will do they
19:46 will choose my shop to come and to
19:48 purchase the items that I'm selling
19:51 right so this is called as onpage SEO so
19:54 on page SEO is nothing but whatever
19:57 you're implementing on your website or
20:00 on your shop it is called as onpage SEO
20:03 right so uh like the tagline the name of
20:06 your store or the images that you're
20:08 using or maybe the offers you're giving
20:10 or the content that you're delivering
20:12 there right the taste of your website is
20:14 actually the content so whatever things
20:16 that you're doing on your website is
20:19 called as onpage SEO and there are
20:21 certain set of rules and regulation that
20:23 we have to adhere and we have to follow
20:26 uh the good practices while implementing
20:28 which we will be learning in the further
20:30 classes and now the next is off pages
20:33 here. Imagine a scenario now we are
20:35 getting some good users coming in onto
20:39 our uh um uh shop right so now let's say
20:41 so who are coming to our shop after
20:45 looking into uh all of the u I would say
20:50 all of the uh images or maybe um the
20:52 offers that I'm giving so after looking
20:53 into them so people are coming to our
20:56 website so now on page SEO as just a
20:58 small example do you see whenever you're
21:00 searching for buy digital camera online
21:03 so you Buy cameras online up to 60% off
21:05 in India. This is an example of onpage
21:08 SEO. You see this image coming in again
21:10 on page SEO. You see this description
21:11 online shopping for electronics from
21:13 great selection and blah blah blah. This
21:16 is again onpage SEO. You're seeing this
21:18 rating here. This is on page SEO. So
21:20 whenever people are searching for
21:22 certain search terms on search engines,
21:25 so they choose the website on basis of
21:28 what exactly is written and shown here.
21:31 This is called as onpage SEO. Now the
21:34 second is off-page SEO. So off-page SEO
21:36 coming back to the example Sadash fast
21:39 food corner. If you want to get users to
21:40 come to your store, let's say there's
21:43 some user who is 10 km away from my
21:46 store and they want to come to my uh
21:48 come to my fast food corner. How are you
21:51 going to bring that user to your uh to
21:53 your store or to your shop? So what all
21:55 activities you will do? Just think for a
21:56 few seconds guys. What are the
21:59 activities you will do to bring someone
22:02 who is 10 km or 20 km away from your
22:04 shop? You want to get them right? So I'm
22:06 just taking a pause for 5 seconds so
22:08 that you guys can think what exactly you
22:15 So what are the thoughts or activities
22:17 you can think in your mind? So I would
22:19 say guys so whenever you want to get
22:21 people who are located away from your
22:23 shop or away from your store and you
22:24 want to get them to your store you will
22:26 do activities like you will put some
22:29 banners you will put billboards you'll
22:33 put uh um um ads on rickshas or maybe
22:37 banners on rickshas or buses or railway
22:39 station you'll distribute pamplates
22:41 you'll show some ads on newspapers
22:44 theaters right so now just imagine when
22:47 somebody saw your ad on newspaper and he
22:49 was reading a newspaper some 10 km away
22:51 and within that newspaper ad you have
22:54 published about a newly opened store or
22:56 the fast food corner and you have given
22:57 some good discount offers coming in
22:59 there. So the person reading the
23:01 newspaper so they will come from 10 km
23:03 away to your shop. All right. So this
23:06 activity is nothing but off- page SEO
23:09 guys. So off-page SEO is all about doing
23:12 the activities away from your website.
23:13 Right? So you're doing certain
23:15 activities away from your website and
23:17 bringing traffic from there. So to give
23:19 an online example, let's say when you
23:22 are reading a blog, let's say you're
23:25 reading a news article on times of India
23:28 about Virat Kohl's uh some website or
23:30 maybe some newly open shop like 18 or
23:32 something. So now when you're read when
23:34 we you were reading that article within
23:36 that article you will see there would be
23:38 a link present of Virat Kohl's website.
23:39 at the moment when you click on that
23:41 link so from times of India now you are
23:44 being redirected to the Virat Kohl's
23:46 websites so that is an example of
23:49 off-page SEO right so this is all about
23:52 off-page SEO guys and after that it is
23:54 technical SEO so technical SEO is
23:55 nothing but looking into the
23:57 technicalities and we have to ensure
24:00 that the website is working smoothly and
24:02 it is crawable it is fast mobile
24:04 friendly for the search engines there
24:05 are so many other technical
24:07 terminologies that we'll be learning but
24:08 yeah this This is just an introduction
24:11 for now. So technical things if I have
24:12 to take an example. So what are the
24:15 technicalities if I if I can consider
24:17 within the example of Sadashio fast food
24:19 corner. Now let's say I have done good
24:21 on page SEO, I've also done good off-
24:24 page SEO. Now there are hundreds of
24:27 people visiting my store. But the moment
24:29 when they are visiting my store, what
24:31 exactly is happening? So the customers
24:33 are placing their order but the moment
24:34 they are placing their order, their
24:36 order is taking time. So initially the
24:38 order should be delivered within 5 to 10
24:40 minutes. Right? So let's say somebody
24:42 came to my store and they they've
24:44 ordered a masala dosa on my store. Uh
24:46 usually the time frame is 5 to 10
24:48 minutes but it is taking 15 20 minutes
24:50 for them. So it is ruining the
24:54 experience of that user. So this is a
24:57 part of technical SEO. Another example
25:01 let's say now a customer has already had
25:03 some dosas and fast food onto my store.
25:06 Now they want to make the payment but I
25:08 don't have any UPI or maybe QR code
25:11 scanner on my website or on my store and
25:13 what I'm doing I'm just collecting cash
25:15 and the customer doesn't have cash with
25:18 them right so it is again ruining or
25:21 giving a bad experience to that customer
25:22 so having some multiple payment option
25:25 on my website will definitely help me to
25:27 uh treat my customer in a better way so
25:30 this is another example of technical SEO
25:32 so in the same thing when you connect
25:35 the dots from uh the shop the offline
25:37 shop to online shop. Now let's say
25:39 ww.sadashevastfoodstore.com sadashev fastfoodstore.com.
25:41 fastfoodstore.com.
25:44 Now let's say this is my online shop. So
25:45 when it comes to online so what kind of
25:48 page speed I have. So how quickly my
25:50 website is loading is my website visible
25:52 to the crawlers. Is my content properly
25:55 visible? My images are loading properly.
25:57 I do have the certain required files on
25:59 my website. Right? So when I do have all
26:02 of this technical elements so this
26:05 betters my technical SEO. So this is all
26:07 about technical SEO which we will be
26:09 learning in depth in our further
26:11 lectures. Now coming to the next section
26:14 which is local SEO. As we already took
26:16 an example of best pizza near me or
26:18 famous pizza near me, right? So whenever
26:20 you're searching for any local terms and
26:23 you're looking to buy things right onto
26:25 that day or maybe within a week so
26:26 you'll be searching for local
26:29 terminologies. So optimizing your online
26:31 presence on Google maps or you can say
26:34 Google business profile. So to attract
26:36 local customers often via Google maps or
26:38 Google business profile that process is
26:41 called as local SEO. So now let's say
26:43 that you want to have a haircut. Now you
26:45 are into a new location and you don't
26:47 know famous shops nearby. What you will
26:49 do? You will go on Google and you will
26:51 search for best hair cutting salon near
26:53 me right and you will see so many
26:55 listing coming in. So let's do a quick
26:59 uh search here now. Best
27:05 salon near me. The moment when I search
27:07 for this near me keyword, do you see
27:09 this is called as local SEO? So, mirror
27:12 studio salon, hair castle, uh heaven the
27:14 family salon. So, now this results are
27:17 called as local SEO and how to get our
27:19 business the local business here. So,
27:21 that we will be learning into the
27:23 further lectures. So I hope you guys
27:25 have got what are the different types of
27:28 SEO on page, off-page, technical SEO and
27:31 local SEO.
27:34 Let's jump into the next slide. So now
27:36 we will also try to understand how
27:38 search engines work. So you guys can
27:40 remember this acronym which is called as
27:43 crawling, indexing and ranking. So what
27:45 search engines do? The moment when your
27:47 website is live on Google or any other
27:49 search engine, so there are crawlers. So
27:52 crawlers are nothing but you know kind
27:54 of a bots which crawl the website and
27:56 stores the information within them. So
27:58 those are called as crawlers. So
28:01 crawlers are also called as spiders. So
28:03 they discover the new and updated
28:06 websites and web pages and they store
28:08 them into their memory which is also
28:10 called as skishing. So to understanding
28:13 in a better way. So if I ask you guys a
28:14 question who is the current prime
28:18 minister of India right? So everybody
28:20 knows that it is Prime Minister Modi
28:22 right? But now if I ask you that who was
28:24 the fourth prime minister of India now
28:26 maybe you guys will think you guys will
28:28 do Google and you guys will take some
28:30 seconds of time to answer this question.
28:33 So why we were not able to answer the
28:35 second question fourth prime minister of
28:38 India just because we didn't had that
28:41 answer ced into our memory. So cing
28:43 means reading or crawling certain
28:45 information and storing it into our
28:47 brain. So, have you ever wondered? So,
28:49 whenever you're searching for anything
28:51 on Google, so now let's say I'm
28:56 searching for uh let's say uh famous
28:57 famous
29:01 uh biscuit
29:04 in Pune, right? So now I'm searching
29:07 this. So when I'm searching for famous
29:09 biscuit in Pune, I'm getting this scanny
29:12 bakery and so many websites here. So do
29:13 you see there are so many websites
29:16 coming in here? Now have you ever
29:18 wondered how Google is able to show so
29:21 many websites in just few seconds? It is
29:24 just because of cing. So the moment when
29:26 Google when whenever the websites are
29:28 live so crawlers crawl the website and
29:30 store that information into their brain
29:32 into their memory and when somebody's
29:34 searching for certain keywords they
29:36 don't do live crawling. If you guys take
29:40 yourself uh um some 15 20 years back you
29:42 know when people used to search on
29:44 Google so what usually used to happen
29:47 there that time. So when whenever 15 20
29:49 years back so if you were searching
29:51 anything on Google it used to take 30
29:54 minutes to 1 hour to show at least 10
29:56 page of result because Google used to do
29:59 a live crawling that time. But right now
30:02 what Google does is just to enhance the
30:04 user experience. The moment when you
30:06 search for any keyword Google gives you
30:08 results within fractions of second
30:10 within few seconds right how it is just
30:14 because of the process of cing. So as as
30:15 I ask you question who is the first
30:17 prime minister of India maybe first
30:20 prime minister everybody knows Jawal Neu
30:21 and the current prime minister everybody
30:24 knows is Mr. Narendra Modi right? So now
30:26 how we are able to give this answers
30:28 within few seconds because we already
30:30 have this information cased into our
30:32 memory and brain. But when I ask you
30:33 that who was the fourth prime minister
30:35 of India or fourth president of India,
30:37 we don't know the answer. Why? Because
30:39 we don't have that information cased
30:41 within us. So to retrive this
30:43 information, it will take a bit amount
30:47 of time, right? So that's why uh cing is
30:50 a certain step within SEO. So the first
30:52 step is crawling and cing. You can say
30:53 crawling, cing, you can combine it
30:55 together. To remember this guys, you can
30:58 just think about an acronym which is
31:02 CIR. You can just uh remember this cir s
31:05 crawling cing and then indexing and then
31:07 ranking. Indexing means discovering the
31:09 pages that are stored in massive
31:11 database creating a searchable index. So
31:14 take an example of the Sadashia fast
31:17 food store. Now what is indexing? Now
31:19 imagine that there is a very famous
31:23 person situated into that uh locality
31:26 where my store is. So now let's say the
31:27 name of that famous person is Google
31:29 uncle. So or you can say that Google
31:32 baya or maybe Google uncle. So now when
31:34 somebody's coming to that that locality
31:36 so there are hundreds of shop there but
31:38 you guys are unsure that which is the
31:40 best fast food. Uh so now you see this
31:42 famous person whose name is Google
31:44 uncle. So you approach him and you ask
31:45 them hey Google uncle can you please
31:47 tell me where can I get the best pizza
31:50 out of this 100 stores. So now Google
31:52 uncle will say that okay go to store
31:54 number 25 go to store number 27 and then
31:56 go to store number 10 go to store number
31:59 53 and so on. So he will rank those
32:00 websites. So now you're asking a
32:03 question there. So now imagine that you
32:05 are the owner of that fast food store.
32:07 Now within your fast food you're dealing
32:10 with all the fast food like idli medu
32:11 vada or maybe masala those are all the
32:14 south Indian dishes and maybe vada
32:16 samosa or anything all the fast food
32:18 stuff but now you don't want to deal
32:20 with something which is not fast food
32:21 like let's say that you don't want to
32:23 deal with pizzas you don't want to deal
32:26 with you know chicken biryani or maybe
32:28 muscle pow or any kind of other food
32:30 that is not fast and you don't want
32:33 people who are searching for those uh
32:35 keywords to come to your website or come
32:37 to your store. Now just imagine that
32:39 when somebody is searching for pizza but
32:41 your fast food store doesn't sells
32:42 pizza, right? If they are coming into
32:45 your store and you say that okay so so
32:47 sorry sir we are not selling any pizzas
32:49 here. So it will ruin the experience of
32:52 the user at the first first phase that
32:54 particular person shouldn't be coming to
32:55 your store because he's looking for
32:58 pizza and your store is not uh selling
33:01 any kind of pizza. So now indexing means
33:04 so now every store has got a menu card
33:06 right so you want to you want the
33:08 customers who are looking for the items
33:10 within your menu card the same menu you
33:12 will submit it to that Google uncle
33:13 you're giving that menu card to Google
33:16 uncle and you're asking that asking them
33:18 that hey Google uncle so whenever
33:20 somebody is searching for any uh
33:22 terminologies or maybe any keywords or
33:24 any food items within this menu card
33:27 please send send them to my store right
33:29 so that process is called as index
33:31 indexing. So submitting your menu card
33:32 like these are the items available
33:36 within my website. So please send these
33:38 people only who are searching for this
33:40 items, products, services or search
33:42 terms. Don't send irrelevant ones. So
33:45 indexing is discovering the pages
33:47 creating your pages and then submitting
33:50 it to Google. So Google will index those
33:53 pages and then they will uh show show
33:54 those pages to the people who are
33:56 searching for the relevant search term.
33:59 So they will not show uh irrelevant
34:01 search terms or maybe the website to the
34:03 irrelevant search terms. And then
34:06 ranking. So when a user is searching,
34:08 the engine retires the most relevant and
34:11 highquality pages from its index. Take
34:14 an example of the Sadash fast food store
34:16 once again. Now let's say there are 10
34:18 stores there into that locality. And now
34:21 Google your uh a customer is coming to
34:22 that Google uncle and they're asking
34:24 that hey can you please tell me which is
34:26 the best pizza out of this 10 stores. So
34:29 now Google uncle will rank ninth store
34:31 and then sixth store fifth store second
34:34 store. So now how why did he rank the
34:37 ninth store on the top 9 five four and
34:40 then uh eight store then seventh store.
34:42 What is the process of ranking? How they
34:44 ranking right? So there are numerous
34:47 things that they consider before ranking
34:49 a website on top. So the couple of
34:52 things I can tell you that is the
34:54 reviews of those website or maybe the
34:56 services that they're offering, the
34:58 prices, the discount, the onpage SEO
35:00 that they have curated, uh the backlinks
35:03 that they have got or maybe you know the
35:04 speed of their website. So there are
35:06 certain things that goes into the back
35:08 end before ranking a website on top. So
35:10 how relevant your query is to that
35:12 website and what are the information
35:13 available on that website what are the
35:17 reviews ratings speed so many 20 to 50
35:19 factors that Google or uh the search
35:21 engines consider before ranking a
35:23 website on top so this is the process
35:25 that we will be learning into this
35:27 journey that how to rank a website on top
35:28 top
35:30 all right so guys you have to remember
35:32 if Google hasn't crawled or indexed your
35:35 site your uh you cannot rank your site
35:37 cannot rank so unless and until Let's
35:39 say that when somebody's setting up a
35:41 new store into that locality. Let's say
35:42 that you are setting up a new store with
35:45 name of XYZ fast food corner but you
35:47 have not submitted your site to Google
35:48 and Google has not crawled or indexed
35:51 your website. He won't be able to uh
35:54 bring in traffic or send traffic to your
35:57 website or to your store. So we have to
35:58 remember that whenever we are creating a
36:01 new website we have to ensure that the
36:03 crawlers are coming in and crawling and
36:05 we are also submitting an index. How to
36:08 do that? we we will be learning them in
36:10 the further lectures. So SEO versus paid
36:13 ads guys. SEO as I mentioned it gives
36:15 you free traffic. It has got a long-term
36:17 strategy and takes time to show results.
36:19 And paid ads which is also called as
36:22 PPC. It gives you instant traffic. It
36:24 cost money and the moment when your
36:27 budget is over your traffic is also
36:30 gone. And as it mentioned stops when
36:32 budget stops. So analogy is like that
36:34 SEO is planting a tree. a very slow
36:37 growth, strong and long-lasting and ads
36:39 are like buying fruits from the market.
36:41 So this is a very quick example for you
36:43 guys to understand. So now whenever
36:44 you're planting a tree, right, you have
36:46 to nurture that tree, you have to water
36:48 them every day, you have to take care of
36:51 good sunlight and everything, right? So
36:53 the moment when that tree is now
36:55 developed or grown properly, so you will
36:57 see it is strong, it is long-lasting and
36:59 it is giving you good benefits. So SEO
37:01 is just like planting a tree and paid ad
37:04 is just like buying groceries or maybe
37:06 vegetable and fruits from the market and
37:09 the moment your budget is done, you
37:12 won't be able to buy anymore. So just
37:14 one quick interactive question. If you
37:17 had a new bakery and 10,000 budget, so
37:20 would you spend it on SEO or ad first
37:23 and why? So guys, just think before I
37:25 answer this question. Let's say that I
37:27 have a new bakery and I have got 10,000
37:29 rupees budget with me. Would I be
37:32 spending that budget on SEO or paid ads?
37:35 So here it completely depends on the
37:37 goal or objective of your business. If
37:39 you have started a new bakery and you
37:41 want some instant customers or quick
37:43 customers to come, so I would say that
37:45 you should be going ahead with paid ads.
37:47 But yeah, if you're growing slowly, so I
37:50 would say that you should choose SEO to
37:57 All right guys, so now uh here's a quick
37:59 activity as I mentioned in the beginning
38:02 of the course that at the end of every
38:04 lecture there will be certain set of
38:06 assignments or activities that you guys
38:08 have to do and after the completion of
38:10 uh the assignment you have to submit it
38:12 in order to get your certification. So
38:15 now let's see that how search engines
38:17 adapt to different needs and you guys
38:19 can grab your phone or laptop and just
38:21 try to do this. So I want you guys to
38:24 search for things. So side by side while
38:26 you're watching this video, you can also
38:27 search for things. Now the search number
38:30 one, best laptops under 50,000. Search
38:33 two is SEO jobs for freshers. And search
38:36 three is restaurants near me. All right.
38:38 So when you're trying to search for
38:41 laptops under 50,000. So the search
38:43 intent here is commercial intent because
38:45 the user is trying to investigate about
38:48 a certain laptops which are under 50,000
38:51 and they would be buying the laptop as
38:52 per their choice after doing the
38:55 filteration and all and the moment when
38:57 you search for something which is let's
39:00 say what is SEO. So now here you see the
39:03 intent is informationational the user is
39:06 trying to find some answers or get some
39:08 more information. Do you see this EI
39:11 overview thing coming up here? So this
39:13 is information intent and you will see
39:15 all the blogs coming up here. Right?
39:19 Because blogs provide information. And
39:21 now speaking about the other search
39:23 term. So let's say if I'm trying to
39:25 search for some local SEO keyword, let's
39:29 say coffee shops near me.
39:31 The moment when you search for coffee
39:33 shops near me, you will see Google map
39:35 listing. This is called as Google
39:37 business profile listing also. So this
39:41 is local SEO and uh let's check one
39:43 quick transactional intent. Let's say
39:48 iPhone 16 Pro 256 GB
39:50 black color. So when I'm searching for
39:53 this term so you see I'm seeing product
39:55 listing here. So this is not category.
39:57 These are exact products that Google is
39:59 showing up on top. Right? So when you
40:01 visit there so you'll just see one
40:03 product there. So we will learn more in
40:06 detail about each keyword intent and
40:09 type at the uh in our second lecture.
40:12 Right? So guys this was all about
40:14 today's lecture about the introduction
40:17 to SEO. And here's a very quick activity
40:19 that you guys can do. So the activity
40:22 goes like this. So all you need to do is
40:24 you have to get five search terms for
40:27 each intent. I want you guys to do this
40:29 assignment. get me fiveformational
40:32 searches, five uh transactional
40:34 searches, five navigational searches,
40:38 five local SEO searches, and five uh um
40:40 commercial intent searches. Right? So,
40:42 this would be your assignment. And uh
40:45 here's a very quick recap and I'm 100%
40:47 sure most of you guys would be able to
40:49 solve this. So, everybody knows by the
40:51 end of this lecture what does SEO
40:54 exactly stands for and which type of SEO
40:56 helps you rank on Google maps? The
40:58 answer is local SEO. And I'm sure that
41:00 you guys know about this. And the
41:02 difference between crawling and
41:04 indexing. Crawling is the first step of
41:06 search engines. And indexing is just
41:08 submitting a map or you can say a menu
41:10 card to Google. And then which is faster
41:13 SEO or paid ads? The answer you guys
41:16 know SEO grows slowly but gives a very
41:19 good uh longlasting results but paid ads
41:23 is faster. Right guys? So this would be
