1:34 finish made in Boseman Montana by Gibson
1:35 beautiful piece of Rosewood on the
1:38 fretboard you've got a mahagany back and
1:41 sides and neck this one having a slim
1:44 tapered neck profile and just a gorgeous
1:46 sounding guitar you got that nice deep
1:49 body and rounded shoulder on the guitar
1:51 itself and I love this mother of pearl
1:53 Gibson inlay it is just so beautiful
1:55 that black against the Sunburst is just
1:57 unreal so let's head over to the bench
1:59 and get some measurements before we plug
2:02 it in j45 from Gibson and just take your
2:05 breath away truly one of the best on the
2:07 planet all right with the j45 in the
2:08 bench let's start up at the top of the
2:11 headstock beautiful black gloss Nitro
2:12 finish and then that mother of pearl
2:15 Gibson logo is just absolutely beautiful
2:17 you got the Chrome uh Grover tuners the
2:20 kidney beans this is made in the USA the
2:22 Boseman plant by Gibson you got this
2:24 slim taper profile which we'll get some
2:26 measurements on in just a second an
2:28 Unbound rosewood fretboard with just
2:30 this unassuming inlay but man I just
2:32 part I think that's part of the iconic
2:34 look of this guitar it's not dressed up
2:36 too much it's just straightforward it's
2:37 why they call it the Workhorse and
2:40 mother Pearl dot inlays on a Rosewood
2:42 board beautiful binding on the guitar
2:44 and then of course the Sunburst Nitro
2:47 finish and a simple elegant pick guard
2:50 teardrop shape and this Belly Up Bridge
2:52 fixed bridge and I'll tell you what just
2:54 a gorgeous guitar look at the Deep body
2:56 we'll get a measurement on that as well
2:58 um but from top to bottom just a
3:00 beautiful guitar this is standard Gibson
3:03 24 and 3/4 in scale length let's get the
3:04 strings loosened up and we'll get some
3:06 measurements on the neck so j45 tends to
3:09 have a little bit wider nut this one at
3:11 1.71 in at the
3:16 nut 0.89 in at the first fret and I'll
3:21 give you a ninth fret up to 0.98 in at
3:23 the 9th so they call it slim taper
3:25 really wouldn't call that slim taper in
3:26 measurement that's more comparable to
3:30 like a 50s like a fatter profile neck so
3:31 I think the fact that Gibson calls it a
3:33 slim taper is actually kind of
3:36 misleading j45 has a nice deep body this
3:40 one coming in at 4 and 3/4 in just under
3:43 4 and 3/4 in and then you have the
3:48 bottom bout at 16 in top outout at 11 1 12
3:49 12
3:53 in and then 24 and 3/4 inch scale length
3:56 super lightweight 4 lb 8 oz so we'll
3:58 call it 4.5 lb so when it comes to
4:01 acoustic guitars the Gibson j45 has got
4:03 to be my first choice I love the sound
4:05 of this guitar flipping it around it
4:07 does have a great feeling neck and again
4:09 it measures in with more of like in the
4:11 electric world be like a 50s profile
4:19 chunkier just that unbeatable acoustic
4:20 tone from the [Music]

4:26 j45 it's got a really well-rounded sound
4:27 where everything is kind of right down
4:29 the middle it's projecting and loud it's
4:31 not too much lowend it's not too much
4:33 highend it's just [Music]

10:13 finish the construction on this guitar
10:16 was Flawless and as I play I just
10:18 reflect man is this not just the most
10:20 perfect acoustic guitar ever made it
10:23 really just might be and I want one all
10:25 right speaking of raw reactions I'm
10:26 going to give you a score now and I base
10:28 that score on three main things overall
10:30 playability overall sound and overall
10:32 value overall playability beautiful
10:35 piece of Rosewood uh the Nitro feels
10:37 really good it's a slim taper neck easy
10:40 to get around um you know Nitro on a
10:42 guitar in general feels good sometimes
10:44 there can be just a touch of stickiness
10:46 perhaps in the neck but this one was
10:48 pretty well balanced and smooth and
10:49 provided a good playing experience
10:52 overall sound the way that this guitar
10:55 has a well rounded projecting balanced
10:58 voice that just sings and cuts and
11:00 sounds exactly how you'd want a an
11:02 acoustic guitar to sound uh it's hard to
11:04 really even give a score because this is
11:06 in many ways kind of the standard for
11:09 judging acoustic guitars in many ways so
11:10 for overall sound because of the well
11:12 balanced nature I'm going to go ahead
11:14 and give the overall sound a
11:17 9.4 and then overall value no doubt it's
11:20 expensive at $29.99 but it does include
11:23 a hard shell case it is made in America
11:25 it's made in the Boseman plant uh
11:27 beautiful Montana we actually got to go
11:29 to Boseman beautiful place perfect
11:30 environment for building acoustic
11:32 guitars and in this case it's one of
11:34 those things where value means is it
11:35 worth the price and are you getting what
11:37 you pay for and I'll tell you what we
11:40 got what we paid for with this Gibson
11:43 j45 beautiful guitar but it is expensive
11:47 uh I think I'll give it a 9.0 on overall
11:49 value playability with the slim taper
11:51 neck and Nitro finish I'm going to give
11:54 an 8.9 for overall score from the Gibson
11:58 j45 standard of 9.1 gorgeous guitar well
