from textile college a student of first
semester and today on 10th December I'm
here to take a small interview for a
small project of the model for site
development to begin now could you
please introduce yourself by your name
and your job that you are actually doing
>> uh my name is Mishnet I'm a resident of
Kakandu I work here at Kumas as a tech
lead so I look at overall J operations
and uh see if there are any technical
issues the team is facing manage server
side issues and uh that
>> and now sir could you please tell me
what really inspired you to choose this
career uh I am I I like building stuffs
first and foremost and I also love
solving problems so as a young kid I
always wanted to build something that
can be of help to uh people around me
and to the community so uh to get there
I really wanted to use the tech space
and I was very much enthusiastic about
computers. Uh so I chose this field.
>> Okay. Going towards your prof
professional journey, are you really
happy with the decision choosing this
field because not everyone turn their
passion into professionalism these days.
So could you please tell me are you
really satisfied with this job? Uh yeah,
I'm very pretty much satisfied with uh
the work that I'm doing and the
profession that I chose. Uh I always
wanted to do be in the tech space, be in
the computer science uh business and uh
job. So I'm very pretty much happy with
it. I get to meet a lot of people, get
to learn a lot every day and I get to uh
share ideas and uh see how we can
transform the world just using tech as a
small space. So yeah, I'm very much
happy with that.
>> Is it really helpful for you or
impactful for you connecting with more
people and does it really influence your resolve?
resolve?
>> It's it's not only about me working,
it's all also about people sharing ideas
with me. So I get to learn every new
things every day. Uh be it tech, be it
management. We have seniors here who
always like motivate me to be at my
best. So yeah, it's it's very
influential. seniors are really helping
you towards your goal.
>> Now can I ask you what was your first
job and the experience you get there?
>> My first job was tutor. I think I was a
tutor personally. I used to teach kids
around by locality math science and
stuff like that. So I I I did that just
to pay my like food bills and all. >> Okay.
>> Okay.
>> So for pocket money I did that. uh only
after my masters I started really
getting into this uh tech job.
>> Did you really imagine that you will be
working in this position today when you
were teaching the kids in your locality?
>> Uh no I I had that dream but I didn't
know if it would come true. I might have
probably gone like abroad and work there
or something like that.
>> But to have this I I didn't really like
imagine myself in this position. I
imagine myself as a developer but to
have reached uh I have been CTO in one
of the company I have been a tech lead
here so to have reached this position I
have never done
>> okay now talking about few skills the
essential skills that you learned along
the way into this IT field could you
please briefly tell something about the
skills you gain here
>> uh well in talking about just the
technology space I have gained skills on
development programming um a lot of
languages like Lav PHP uh Ruby um JS
NexJS uh JS uh along with that being on
deck I have gained knowledge about
server side access server management um and
and
uh apart from that I think uh management
skills has also helped like has has
grown on me these days because I'm
managing a team right Now I'm managing
the technical aspect of things. Instead
of being like hands-on on the technical
aspect, I'm just more into management
these days.
>> So on management side, I'm managing a
team of like six, seven people here and
managing myself and my work and mostly
management is also like some skill that
I've grown into account.
Moreover going a little deep towards
your challenges and struggle. You told
me that you you
learning multiple skills right. So did
you ever
faced any problems while doing those works?
works?
>> Uh yeah there had been problems. U
maybe I think it's mostly overthinking
and self sabot sabotage kind of thing. Yes.
Yes.
>> Uh so I needed to get out of that head
space and I needed to like keeping on
with my work. There are family issues as
well like financial problems like me not
being able to me having to depend on
family for educational uh fees and all
but then to manage my own expenses my
own having fun time outs with friends
and all I needed to work on that. um in
tech space I think u the companies and
the people sometimes you you need to
deal with toxic people sometimes you
need to um you know figure out ways that
uh you need to try to figure out ways
but you just can't get the problem
solved and and those kind of issues
based a lot but yeah it was an experience
experience
>> but ultimately at some point the
financial struggles really kills a
person dreams wishes
>> yeah so how did you overcome those
challenges is uh I just stayed
consistent. I think I there have been
times in my life where people have been
like don't use space, don't do this and
they used to just do business or do a
safe recovery job and stuff like that.
But I was consistent on fulfilling my
dream and I just uh persevered. I uh
every day I against all odds I just
decided I I want to do this so I'll do
this and uh yeah it's mostly consistency
and perseverance.
>> At the end you never care. >> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
So who supported you during the
difficult times, your work colleagues,
your parents, families, friends? Uh well
mostly it's been my peers, my friends
mostly. Uh being an engineering student,
I had a lot of engineer friends who
really supported me and guided me too.
Uh actually my first job was at my
friend's place. So I interned at his
place and he helped me gain this
knowledge that
the world has given me programming
knowledge now I need to give it back. >> Yes.
>> Yes.
>> So that really inspired me. So mostly
it's been my friends and colleagues.
>> The point where your friend helped me
into internship. I really grateful for that.
that.
>> Yeah. Yeah. I I kind of in a way I owe
it to him big time owing to that friend
and they gave me my first job. They
helped me get uh knowledge and you know
achieve much bigger jobs and all. So
yeah, I'm very grateful for that.
>> It may be the biggest assist that you
get from your friend right now.
Furthermore, going a little bit more
deeper towards your growth and personality,
personality,
what personal daily habits really help
you into your work? I think uh as of now
I've been too much busy with works only.
So I don't really get much time to focus
on other aspects of my life. But uh that
stresses and all these things are like
inevitable. So I managed to do breath
works and meditation every day at least
for 10 minutes. So I I'm at my like s
same sanity of my mind so that I don't
like burst or take a lot of pressure
into it. So I try to do that. I take
walks. I
>> uh manage at least one weekend I manage
outside with my friends just so that I
can like be calm and so I that's the
that I'm doing.
>> Um the wrist plan is going well for it.
>> Yeah, it's going it's going okay. I
still there's still room for
improvement. I'm still having a lot of
time a lot of problems dealing with
stress and all but yeah things are going okay.
okay.
>> And what about the motivation? How did
you really achieve the motivation factors?
factors?
>> I think okay I'll be very brutally
honest. One of the thing is finance
>> because uh in text I I I won't deny the
money is really good. Secondly, you get
to meet people. You get to uh learn new
things and uh so that is also a
motivating factor for me and I really
want to like be in the community and
help uh change the world, help uh people
get better jobs, help people uh get idea
about what they can do and make their
lives better. So using text space, I
want to be able to do that in the
future. That's the grand vision. So that
really keeps me motivated.
>> I really hope your grand vision become
successful one day. Yeah, it is the
ultimate goal for everyone, everyone who
is dreaming the same vision. How are you
balancing your family and work life personally?
personally?
>> Well, balance I think it's uh being
maintained on its own. I really didn't
have to do a lot to balance it out. So,
I'm doing 9 to6 here and I am then I'm
having my own time uh apart from work.
uh I am living with my family and so I
get to spend a lot of office time with
them. I get to spend the office time
here. I get to spend friendly time on
the weekends. So that's it's self-managed.
self-managed.
We as a student we ourselves need stress
management. It's a lot of stress when
the assignment is going around the
exams. So
what advice would you give to the
younger generation like me?
>> I think uh because I am a bit older so I
I think I'll say um work on our mental
health firstly
>> uh because if if you are not like safe
here you won't be safe anywhere. So
firstly I would say that I want young
people like yourselves to be involved in
physical activities right and maybe do
some yoga or meditations or anything
breath works that that really helps and
time management and all I think those
are things as young people you figure it
out as the time goes but uh you need to
have at least one activity that will
keep you grounded. So and I and when it
comes to tech space I want you guys to
not just you everyone to spend every day
learning new things that's the ultimate
uh task that you can do that will
improve you achieve your focus. Yeah,
but frankly as a student if I'm engaging
in any kind of physical activities I
would solely focus on just having fun
rather than focusing on my studies uh or
my plans dream
>> and somewhere for doing more physical sports
sports
hanging out with friends really
distracts everyone
>> from their core work. So what specific
uh advice would you give to work
consistently in a disciplined manner?
>> I think for that you you need to develop
routine yourself. >> Yes.
>> Yes.
>> So you can have fun for 1 hour and you
can completely have fun. You just don't
have to think about anything but on the
next hour when you're studying you just
have to give your like one hour just for
study. Don't think about don't think
about your girlfriends. Don't think
about your uh you know physical activity
times. Just work. and on the next hours
maybe family time you just divide your
day into this split hours and uh you
know just focus on that.
>> Yeah, this is the same message that my
grandparents my parents are always
giving me the same statement that you
just gave me.
But somewhere I study slightly but focus
more on having fun playing games.
>> But I think it's age as well. When I was
young I was also like that. It took me
some time. So but I everyone will figure
it out.
>> Now finally sir what changes would you
bring personally and professionally if
you could go back in time where we as a
student are standing today? I think I
would start my tech career even earlier
as while I was I was only focused on
studying and then completing my
bachelors and then getting a job. I
think I should have started a little bit
earlier so that I could have done a
little bit more than I've already done
right now. Um and I think if I could go
back in time I would mostly learn all
those things. I I learned a lot of tech
stuffs much later in my life uh after my
engineering. So I would have like
learned those gained those skills back
then and maybe did some internship back
then while I was studying so that after
I had completed my bers I would have
like a job ready for me to go to. So
>> so doing and learning those multiple
tech stops
>> did it really ever hamper your personal
timing with your friends parents?
Yeah, it kind of did like when I was
learning uh I needed to give a lot of
time there so that I could like be ready
for the job. So my family time, my
friends time, my hanging out times those
were hampered but I think that is
something that uh everyone used to
sacrifice. So the the fun time
>> yeah it was restricted for you
>> uh in a way but also
>> under your dreams take that's
that's
>> what advice would you give to the
student like me who wants to get inside
tech stop and is there any scope uh
because in today world everything is
under technology
does it really help a student like me if
I'm generally focusing on the IT
sectors, the technological sectors that
is really help a student working out a
bachelor's degree in Nepal. Uh
to answer your question firstly, I think
uh as an advice um I think everyone as
yourself students should uh just like
the way I said before uh studying you
should also like be career orientated
oriented and learn a lot of uh tech
stuffs that's is going to help you in
your career firstly secondly uh yeah
tech space is growing it's always
growing it will always keep on growing
so there's no limitation uh there are
new stuffs coming every every like six
months right so there was um there was
big cryptocurrency at one point there
was NFTs at one point there are
blockchain technologies AI web three. So
along with this there are new tech
coming every day. So if you can get your
hands into anything new um just do it
and I think yeah there there's a lot of
scope even in Nepal you can be studying
right now in Nepal and then dreaming of
a future in tech uh there are no like no
hold for that so I think yeah there's a
lot of scope there so yeah
>> yeah what uh what do you think when people
people
here today are uh
solely want to
find that shortcut into the direct point
where they ultimately want to go.
Is it really necessary to find the
shortcut and go along the way or gradually
gradually
improve oneself to achieve those dreams
and wants? Yeah, I think you should like
never you should always say no shortcuts
and secondly yeah you should go
gradually one by one step by step take
the basics first you know if you can't
stick to the basics you will not be able
to figure out um and if you don't know
how to put the thread onto the needle
you will not know how to sew your
clothes so yeah you have to stick to the basics
basics
>> but um everyone is comparing today right
>> yeah so uh someone gets a little too
faster someone
are left behind
and for the one who is left behind.
Uh they're really stressing out
as a module as a discussion here for the
personality development. What can the
one who left behind think of to
gradually become normal and go in a
stable pace to achieve his her goal in
the future? uh firstly uh the stress
management and emotional feelings
management that comes into play. Once
you're you have dealt with that you need
to just keep on learning and growing
every day. You can't like you can't say
uh yes to everything. You just need to
say yes to your dreams and your vision
for that. So just work on it every day
consistently. It will take six months
maybe maybe a year it will take maybe
you know your your friends will move
forward but you'll be a little bit
behind but in those year that you worked
on the next year you can always like
punch harder and like get a job
>> yeah but the comparison is the
comparison is real right now in context
of India many youngster are stressing
out many suicidal cases are happening
due to lack of stress management lack of
awareness into the mental health.
So, it's a really
a real topic to talk about in today headlines.
headlines.
Do you really think
it continuous stress under a person
mentality will disrupt their life or
they may distract their ultimate goal?
>> Yeah, that happens. Uh if I can share
you my personal story, there was a point
in my life where I had I had chronic
stress disorder. So I almost had to I I
did take some medication but I knew that
I'll be dependent on it so I shouldn't
take it. So I consulted a lot of
doctors, neuroscientists and all and I
got out of it. So it is I
uh am a living proof that can say that
it's easy to like get into those um
stressful situations and dissolve your life.
life.
But then there's also
way there are also ways that you can get
out of it and then just work on it. So
it's uh yeah comparison is there there
is um you know the space is fastly
growing and people will feel left behind
that is uh that's that's pretty much
normal as of now. Uh but if you just
keep consistency I think um being left
behind and being successful are two
different things. Yeah, you can be left
but you can still have a successful career.
career.
>> So my friends they they have they are at
like the top of their fields right now
and I'm um well I'm also doing good. Uh
but I
don't think competitively yeah they're
doing very well than me but I also feel
like I'm doing very well too.
Sir, do you think that uh talking about
stress the tension here inside your head
with parents
do they really understand today's kids
the parents? Uh yeah in today's
generation it's a bit difficult to say
that uh not all parents are very
understanding about that right
>> uh so me and my people from my age group
they really can't share these things
with their parents I think it's the same
for you guys as well
>> uh so I think for that you need to have
someone who someone um you can call your
brother or your cousins or anyone who
who can really understand you need to
have that partner in your life you need
to have friend in your life with you.
You can be completely vulnerable and
share your stuff. Uh and I think you can
get out of all the stresses if you have
you know these few people that are
really interesting and really
contributing to your life. Um but yeah
when you talk about parents I don't
think like it's very 100% that they will
understand your issues.
>> Yeah. But
the parent gives the true advices to
their children which are really safe for
them, good for them. And
And
do you really
feel happy when you look back towards
your life journey from where you started
to where you are here right now?
Yeah, there was a point in my life where
where I didn't like really feel happy.
But now that I have reached her, I feel
like all those experiences, good or bad,
they made me this guy today. And I I
still need like I still have to improve
a lot of things. But to have become this
because of those experiences, bad
experiences, good experiences, uh I
think that makes me happy.
>> Under the influence of bad things that
happened to you, did
they really made you ever feel ever made
you feel to give off?
>> Uh yeah, that had happened once um that
I really wanted to give up and leave
everything behind and like switch
careers maybe someday or do completely
different things. Uh but uh I think
ultimately seeing people go through the
same things that I go through and me
wanting to help them get out of it
really like kept me grounded and kept me
wanted to work in this space so that I
could be of help to be of service to all
of you.
>> Thank you. So
you are really satisfied with your job
right and have you ever
imagined or think of if some days in
future if a certain overload of work
will occur to you and it may wash you out.
out.
uh I'm not quite worried about that
because I think I've already been
through those phases and I can deal with
things better. I think as time grows uh
your experience on those things also
grows. So having dealt with all those uh
stressful moments, workloads and all uh
I think now I know better how to manage
it. Uh as if I was younger maybe I
wouldn't have been able to manage it
better. But having gone through all
those workloads and all now I know how
to manage it better. So I don't think in
the future even if like even more
workload comes into my way. Uh I don't
think I'll be like too much down on it.
So I I think I can handle them as uh as
it comes.
>> Okay. Finally,
like you, similar to you, what qualities
should young people develop today to to
be like you or to work constantly even
there is a lot of influence of the bad
things on their life.
>> Uh I think one of the things that I
didn't develop myself back then was
communication skills. Uh I would be very
anxious about these situations. So I
think uh young people should focus on
communications. Um communication if it
is done well I think you can land
brilliant opportunities in the in any
space. Uh and apart from that well
educational education wise I think the
degree is important but what you do and
what you learn really define your skill.
So more than grades I want young people
and students to focus on skills. So yeah
skill learning and communication skills.
the statistics I recommend that people
do it every
>> so they are linked with this skills over grade
grade
>> okay even this is my first time taking
an interview of anyone like you I'm
really a little bit nervous and I'm not
even speaking fluently right
>> no it's a weird
>> sometimes I wish and I really want that
I'll be
speaking frequently fluently in English
um developing my communication skills is
managing my stress lower
finally to complete this interview.
How are you really feeling now? Talk
about your personal journey, your
struggles, challenges.
>> Yeah, I I feel good having I feel good
because I could share my story firstly
and secondly I feel good because I get
to star my knowledge upon you guys so
that you can develop yourself better.
you so that you guys don't make the same
mistakes that I made and so that you
guys can uh learn even better than I did
in my past. So yeah, I feel good to be
of help to you guys at least. So yeah.
>> Okay. So now I think it's time to wrap
up the interview. So final message if
you give to me,
>> uh keep doing what you're doing. That's
all I say. Keep doing what you're doing.
It's going good. Uh don't let like
comparison and stresses get to you. just
do your thing. There's even if it's even
even if you feel left back worried
sometimes it's okay it's a normal human being
being
and uh regarding text space yeah things
are always growing so keep learning keep
yourself updated every day read tech
news like just don't get into just into
work uh look at the entire world and
like see what's going on in the tech
space right now uh and other than that
yeah man yourself on like stresses and
things Um other than that I think you
guys are students, you guys are young,
you guys have a lot of energy. I think
you guys can do a lot you can you can
achieve a lot more than I've ever
achieved. So yeah all the best on that.
>> Thank you sir. I'm really grateful to
have you on my interview. Thank you. I
think I have learned a lot from you.
Thank you sir. I hope I'll meet you
again to learn new skills, new ideas.
Thank you for everything sir. Very
grateful for you. Thank you.
