Hello friends,
welcome to episode 14 of Hyper Paste. Friends,
we recently made a video
on celibacy and tried to understand the
true meaning of celibacy.
We understood that celibacy is
not just the prohibition of sexual pleasures,
but it is the observance of all those aacharanons
that lead us towards Brahman.
Among these aacharanons, the prohibition of sexual pleasures is an important part. So,
I had promised to
bring a detailed video on this topic as well. So,
friends, in today's episode, we will
try to understand whether sexual misconduct is really a
crime of sexual misconduct or the
relationships formed before marriage,
which we call primal sex. What is the
opinion of Sanatani history, our Vedic history, or the different sects of Hindu Sanatan Dharma on these topics? So,
friends, if you are new to the channel, then
subscribe to the channel immediately because
every week we
bring such videos related to Indian culture and science.
Click the bell icon first. And the
video should be available on time. Friends, without any
Friends, ours is Sanatan Dharma. This
means that we don't have a single fixed philosophy,
a single book, or a single religious leader
who runs the religion. Sanatan Dharma is a
religion that leads us towards truth. Therefore, for
thousands of years, there have been many scholars who have created
numerous paths towards attaining God and have
determined ways of living. Now,
one advantage of Decent religion is that
we are free to choose any path towards attaining God. In
fact, we
can create our own path. But
this has a disadvantage, and this has been
happening continuously with Sanatan Hindu religion. This is that
many philosophies and many
philosophies get mixed up with each other.
What happens then is that many
topics become complex,
and then many opinions arise within them,
and differences arise. Now, for example,
look at the subject of happiness, where it is a
sin for brahmcharis, it is
a matter of sacred relationship for the Tantric community and the co-existent Vaishnavas.
Both If it
is a part of Sanatan Dharma, then in which direction should we
move forward because the
ideas of both are applicable, if you
look carefully then on one hand we are told
that Veer should be protected because
it gives strength and on the other hand we
also get to see texts like Kamasutra
which have been written to make our relationships better
and have been going on for thousands of years, so
friends, in today's episode, this
difference of opinion regarding this relationship, this
paradox which is seen
in Hindu Sanatan Dharma, we will try to understand it, we will
try to resolve it, but
before that we have to understand one thing that what is the
fundamental place of this relationship in Sanatan Dharma,
first of all we have to see that [Music]
[Music]
Friends, fundamentally in Sanatan Dharma, sexual
desire or like less desire is not
a bad thing, it is not a sin because if it were
so, then the auspicious form of less desire,
whom we call Kamadeva, would have been
called Kamasura, but he was called Dev
and there is a deep thinking behind calling Kamadeva Dev,
a philosophy is hidden
because if we look at it, then due to this desire, due to
this desire, Our entire world is
running in this creation made by God.
If this desire for less is not generated in the mind of life, then the
world cannot function.
That is why education is called goddess and
not demonic. That is why among the four
biggest goals of Sanatan life, desire has also been
given a place because it is the
basis of life in this universe and provides strength to achieve the other three characteristics.
Friends, but then we do
not understand that in our religion, less
desire is
seen as a sin or we
feel that this is an attempt to deprive us of happiness.
But to
understand all this, we first have to
understand our Vedic history of Vedic times
and take
a look at the social activities that have been going on since then.
Friends, we almost know that in Vedic times, human life was divided
into four ashrams. The
first ashram in this was
Brahmacharya Ashram, which was for 25 years.
And this ashram is the most important
ashram because in this, any boy,
girl or youth works the most and
focuses on it because the habits of this time were
It dictated life.
You see, the daily routine of Gurukul was
very difficult because you were being
taught various subjects. Mathematics,
economics, arts, science, philosophy,
languages, etc. were being taught. A
lot of time was spent in this.
After this, you also had to serve your Guru,
talk to other disciples, and
practice a lot of things that made
your life in Gurukul meaningful. Now, in such a situation, if any of
our time was wasted on other things, which is
inappropriate and
serves no purpose, then to avoid this, this ashram was
called Brahmacharya Ashram. Anyone who has any
kind of desire for less, even a boy or a
bull, should stay away from it. Now, just like
in English, the word 'kam' has become associated with sex these days.
People have started interpreting the word 'fashion' in the same way. Similarly, the Sanskrit
word 'kam' has also
started being associated with happiness, but 'kam' means the
enjoyment of happiness. If you indulge in any kind of worldly
pleasure, it diminishes.
Boys and girls were asked to give up this. Now,
Now,
whether it is the use of beauty products or
jewellery or any such
process which has no purpose, you should
not do it for 25 years,
hence it is called celibacy. If
seen in one way, then we cannot say that
we are being deprived of this happiness,
rather even today we want that our
children should stay away from all these things and when it is the
time to make a career, when it is the time to acquire knowledge, when it is the
time to hone your talent further, so
that our whole life becomes good, then
focus on that. That is why
in the Brahmacharya Ashram, less desire or
this happiness was described as a sin and
it should not be done so that you stay away from it
and can move ahead in life. Now friends, there is
another scientific reason for this because
if you look at the Vedic times, then there were not
so many options of contraception at that time, that is, if
you think that if a young girl gets pregnant even by mistake, then
how much physical pain will she have to endure
and then she will also have to face social harm. It will seem so
because on completion of celibacy, some
sanskar process used to take place and after that this
celibate boy or a celibate girl gets
married and goes to Graha Hastashram. Now
if a girl is pregnant, then how much
effort will be there for that, hence special care was taken of it,
Guru and Abhibhava would ensure that the
children follow celibacy properly.
That is why friends, today we talk about primitive
sex, that this kind of relationship before marriage, that
kind of thing was not there,
in Vedic times there was
no such lifestyle and there was no such system,
hence no such rules and regulations were made,
but still the gurus have
told such measures by following which you
can stay away from lust, so let's look at those eight measures.
[Music]
Friends, the first among these eight measures is
Smran, that is, keep your memory pure, do
not think about lust even in your thoughts
because your thoughts will immediately make you a victim
and after this, the second comes Kirtan,
that is, do
not discuss such topics among your friends, nor
depict it, nor tell any such
story. Let's talk about it and the third
is Krida, that is, stay away from all such things,
stay away from touch which
generates less desire in you and the fourth is
Observation, that is, do not look at anyone with less desire,
after this comes the fifth,
Speech, that is, you should not talk to anyone secretly
and the sixth is Sankalp, that is,
become mentally strong and the seventh chapter, that is,
make less desire the focus of life that once
celibacy is over, then I will be
immersed in less desire and the eighth is
Kriya Nivritti, that is,
not having inclination in any kind of action, so
friends, these eight measures were told by the gurus that
if we follow these eight measures, then we will
stay away from less desire and will be able to focus
on acquiring knowledge, so friends, we
can see that in Vedic times, on one hand,
mixer was prohibited so that mental
and physical development of children can happen, on the
other hand, it is the basis of life in the universe,
hence, in Graha Ashram, it was
also prescribed to consume it with purity. [
Music]
Now friends, a question arises that if
less desire is only a means of procreation
or a If it is a simple process, then
why did we need to write a book like Kamasutra? Or if we
look at the outer walls of various temples, there are a lot of
sculptures depicting sexual relations, then
what was the need for all this, even a boy and a
girl can go there. So friends,
first of all let us look at the subject of Kamasutra.
If we believe the scholars, then Kamasutra
is a book written on love and social behavior, or we can say that it is
some sutras written on the art of love. Friends, we should
know that Kamasutra has seven
parts, but in only one part of them, the postures and positions
used in sexual relationships are described.
described.
In the remaining six parts, we are
told about the social behavior or the behavior related to love, they have been commented upon. But now that one
chapter has presented Kamasutra as a sex manual.
Now friends, the
problem is that when Hindu sages or
acharyas were curious about any subject,
then they would go to its root.
Now when Vatsyayana ji felt that the
relationship between man and woman There should be a treatise on
their relationship, then he focused on it
and wrote Kamasutra. He
included all the knowledge available at that time in a book and
this is how Kamasutra came into existence.
Now friends, he also comments on why Kamasutra was written and what was the
need for it.
He explains that the relationship between a man and a woman
depends on the man and the woman,
hence it is very important for both men and women to
get education on it because if
this relationship is not formed in the right way or with the right thoughts in the right couples, then neither do they
get happiness from this relationship and this action can also take
a wrong form. That is,
Vatsyayana ji
wanted to write a book on the relationship between a man and a woman from a scientific point of view
and he also explains at the end of the book that
low desire is the
lowest among the four characteristics of our life, Dharma, Artha, Kam
Moksha. If due to low desire
your Dharma and Artha are being
harmed in those characteristics, then you should give up low desire. So
friends, it is
understood that Kamasutra is a book if a
person following any Graha Ashram should If one wants to make these relationships, then
he can read them, so we understand it,
but we also have to understand the purpose of the relationships depicted on the temples.
Now friends, there are hundreds of such temples in India
where we get to see explicit art,
which we can call sculptures depicting these relationships,
and especially before the arrival of the Mughals,
before the arrival of Muslim invasions,
these temples were there in huge numbers,
but then when the Mughal Empire and after that,
when these temples were attacked, only a few temples are
left today where we get to
see such sculptures or artwork.
Now friends, to understand this type of explicit
depiction, artistry,
different scholars have given their opinions at different times.
Some scholars believe that these
sculptures which depict these types of relationships,
relationships,
display worldly attachments and illusions,
hence they indicate to the devotee that
when you enter the temple,
leave behind the worldly illusion and then
proceed for the devotion of God. Now this is the opinion
opinion
because if you see, in Khajuraho right now You will also find
such temples, such
idols can be seen inside the temple as well.
Now friends, some scholars are of the opinion that it is a
very important part because
temples are at the center of Sanatan Dharma,
therefore such depictions were made on the walls of the temple
so that sex education
could be imparted. Now friends, this opinion is also not very strong
because there are such depictions on the outer walls of many temples, such
relationships have been described or
displayed which are prohibited in Kamasutra.
Now when there is a prohibition in Kamasutra
and it is believed to be followed, then it
cannot be a part of sex education. So friends,
this opinion is also not very strong. Now
friends, in this, some scholars are of the opinion that it has been
told in the Upanishads that
when a man and a woman embrace or
make love, then they
forget what is what is not, they
describe the same thing or show the same thing
when the rule of Purusha and Prakriti
comes, that
Purusha and Prakriti are also wrapped in the same way, we do
not know what is going on, it just
became an existence. They have forgotten each other by embracing
each other, they have
forgotten their identity and this is the truth, from
this the universe was created. So, to
illustrate this philosophy, such
depictions have been made in temples, but
I do not find this opinion very strong
because if only embracing was to be depicted,
then there was no point in depicting it in a state of punishment.
Otherwise, friends, what I find
most correct is the
system of Dharma, Artha, Kam and Moksha. This is our ideology that our
biggest goals are Dharma, Artha and
Moksha. Now, since temples are
at the center of Sanatan Dharma, they are the
symbolic point of our religion, hence all
those four things have been included there. For
example, if we look, there is an
idol of God in the temple for religion, for
worshipping God. If we
look at it, there is also Artha because we
collect gold, silver, etc. ornaments there. So,
wherever we see Dharma, there is
Artha as well. That is why Kam has
also been depicted there. Your worldly
pleasures, your enjoyments, are also depicted
on the walls of the temple. Now, if you
look carefully, you'll see
only 10%,
5%, or even 15% of these paintings based on worldly pleasures. It's not just this that's
happening on the walls of the Puri temple. Different kinds of
worldly pleasures are also depicted,
like a woman doing make-up,
or a man earning money.
All these worldly activities are
also dependent on the temple, and
therefore, the rituals are also displayed there.
Dharma, Artha, and Karma are also there, and by combining
combining
and balancing these three, you attain salvation.
Therefore, this ritual is displayed through sculpture in temples to show all four things.
friends, if we conclude, it's
not a crime to pick up the Yonas, it just has
a place, and that place is under Dharma and Artha.
If you understand this, you'll
automatically know whether you're doing wrong
or not. For example, I'll
give you some examples: if you spend money and
use money to form these relationships, then
that's It is wrong because you are doing it for money.
Now suppose there is a king who is
not following his religion, is
not taking care of his subjects and is involved
in this activity, then
his relationship is also wrong, he is
unrighteous. If there is a disciple like this, he also has a
religion, he has to study and progress, if he
leaves that and is engaged in lust, then
even that kind of thing is wrong. So
if you understand
where the position of lust is, where is its place, then
you will understand whether the relationship you have formed is
wrong or not. Therefore, never
form such a relationship in which religion and
wealth are destroyed. Therefore, when you are
procreating or you are
forming a relationship with your wife, then religion and
wealth are not destroyed and such a relationship is
considered sacred in Sanatan Dharma. So
friends, I hope that
you have got a lot of information regarding this topic
in the video. If you liked the video, then
definitely like and share the video.
