Core Theme
This content explores ten ways to make God happy, emphasizing that God desires a relationship with humanity and experiences emotions like sadness when that relationship is strained. The ultimate goal is to bring joy to God through obedience, love, spiritual-mindedness, and active participation in His work.
[Music]
Uh good evening friends. So glad to have
you all for the u second part of the
talk that we began yesterday. How to
make God happy?
And we started in the premises.
Is God sad then? And we affirmed,
of course, yes. We saw four references
in the Old Testament as to how God the
Father was grieved.
Then we saw five references in the New Testament,
Testament,
how Jesus was grieved. God the son.
Then finally he became the man of
sorrows. All our sorrows and griefs came
upon him.
Today we can pretty well say that God
the Holy Spirit is sad as well.
We saw four steps to make God happy yesterday.
yesterday.
Number one by obeying him. Number two,
by believing him.
Number three, by loving his word.
And number four, by walking blamelessly.
Thanks for your response. Several of you
profusely thanked me for the message
that has tremendously impacted your
life. And some of you even said that you
were quite lukewarm and sort of
backsliding, but you got stirred up
yesterday by the living word of God.
We'll go to the fifth step as to how we
can make God happy today.
At this moment, I remember one of my old
senior friends by name Stanley Prince.
He was a higher secondary school uh
senior teacher in Sri Puv.
Now we used to pray together in the uh
red sandy desert at the outskirts of
Nazareth in the early 60s and he used to
tell me at that time Stanley we have got
so many beautiful names for the
ministries of these days Jesus loves
Jesus comes and Jesus calls Jesus meets
Jesus redeems I said so what it's good
isn't it and then you know what he said
the more necessary
name for a ministry today would be Jesus weeps.
weeps.
I used to think that if we have to find
a theme song for a ministry that um goes
with the name Jesus weeps, we have to say
now that may look um uh somewhat strange
but that is what Jesus is doing today.
Now as I have been preparing this
message as I told you yesterday for over
a month I don't know a holy trembling
gripped my heart a holy trembling unlike
any other sermons that I have prepared
during the last 60 years.
So I think we are getting as much as
possible near the sad heart of God.
Now the fifth lesson that we have here
as to how we can make God happy.
By being spiritually minded, we can make
God happy. Say that again. By being
spiritually minded, we can make God happy.
happy.
Turn with me for the opening reference
in book of Romans 8th chapter. I'll read
to you verse 5 to8. Those who live
according to the flesh set their minds
on the things of the flesh. But those
who live according to the spirit the
things of the spirit. To be carnally or
to be fleshly minded is death. But to be
spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity
against God. But it is not subject to
the love of God. Nor can indeed be. So then
then
those who are in the flesh cannot please
God cannot make God happy. God will be
sad and sorrowful sorrow stricken over them.
them.
Now what is the meaning of this phrase
that Paul very often uses in his
epistles not only in Romans and the
other epistles as well in the flesh. It
simply means carnalmindedness. Those
Those
who live according to the flesh. What
does it mean?
Those who live according to their basic
human nature which is not transformed yet.
yet.
They set their mind on earthly things.
As we read in verse five, the first
portion, those who live according to the
flesh set their mind on the things of
the earth, things of the world.
Now this has been God's worry from time immemorial.
immemorial.
As you come with me to book of Psalms
even chapter 45
I'm sure on various occasions and uh in
different context we would have read it
but just now look at the passage in this
light as we are doing the meditation.
Psalm 45 and verse 10 and 11 also.
Listen, oh daughter. I think this is
addressing each of her. Listen, oh daughter,
daughter,
consider and incline ear. This is
something that you have to very
attentively listen to.
Forget your own people.
Also your father's house.
Then the king will greatly desire your
beauty. He'll be delighted in your beauty.
beauty.
Because he is your lord,
you have to worship him. Forget your own
people also
and your father's house. What does it mean?
mean?
In order that the king of kings whom we
have accepted as the lord of lords of
our lives.
If we have to please him and make him delightsome,
delightsome,
we need to get out of all these earthly
bindings. In other words, the worldly mindedness,
not only worldly mindedness and people
who are worldlings
because their company
will promote only worldliness in us.
That's why in 2 Corinthians we have an
emphatic call
that many times we read and then we pass
by thinking that doesn't apply to us.
2 Corinthians 6th chapter I read to you
vers 17 and 18. Therefore
come out from among them
and be separate says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean and I will
receive you. I'll be a father to you and
you shall be my sons and daughters says
the Lord Almighty. First it says says
the Lord and now it says says the Lord
Almighty. To whom was the epistle to the
Corinthians return? It was to believers.
It was to saints.
Why ask them to come out?
It doesn't speak about the initial
saying no to the voice of the world. But
this speaks about our ongoing
relationship and attachment to the
things of the world and the people who
mind only earthly things.
We are children of God. No doubt. But
here is another step.
You won't be just children. You will
become my sons and daughters.
Beloved, this is how we have to
understand the Bible, especially when we
believe that the Bible is verbally inspired.
inspired.
We all know that sad story of the people
who exceeded Egypt.
When they exited Egypt in their
wilderness journey,
a mixed multitude also joined them.
Maybe they were quite tired of the
pharaoh's iron rule and they wanted to
get away with a people who had a god who
always performs miracles.
But in course of time the mixed
multitude began to crave for their old
stuff, god leagues, onions and all those stuff.
stuff.
And you know what they said? Turn with
me to book of numbers
11th chapter. Now these are all
verses which literally
make us wonder how on earth they could
ever do that.
But that happened what happened to them
can happen to us also especially in today's
today's
context of the world that we live in.
Numbers 11th chapter 4-6. Now the mixed
multitude who are among them yielded to
intense craving. So the children of
Israel also wept again you know health
does not spread disease spreads never
forget it health does not spread but
disease spreads and they said who will
give us meat to eat oh we remember the
fish and the cucumbers and the melons
and the leaks and the onions and the
garlic I think if you eat this stuff
you'll definitely develop a stomach also
but now what they say in verse six but
now Our whole being is dried up. There
is nothing at all except this mana
before our eyes. In other words, they
were telling, "Oh, mana is boring."
Shall I tell you something very
significant and very personal?
When you lose interest and excitement in
Bible reading and meditation,
examine yourself. It's likely that you
got unconsciously contracted
contracted
contacted and contracted the spirit of
the world.
You know what was once tasting like
honey. You know they said the mana it
was like a honey cake but after you move
on further on you know what they said
the taste was like olive oil. Oil is
tasteless. Honey is sweet. You see what
was honey one day
becomes oilike tastelessness. Are you
with me? Here is a personal testimony
that I want to make.
I have had several testimonies from folks
folks
especially the sob family.
One outstanding testimony from one of
our SBO so members uncle
uncle
for you money is just a paper. I thank
God for that testimony. It's a good
testimony to earn.
Yes, I can boldly say authentically testify
testify
that money is lost in my agenda
even for ministry. You know there was a
pro one or two programs annual program
three days one theme all the major
messages I preached each for three hours
and the last message when I preached
after that we have to take offering
but I forgot I gave benediction and I
said now we are all dispersed. Oh my
leaders from behind came han we have not
taken an offering thank offering it. I
said forget about it. I already said
given the benediction. This has happened
more than once
because my heart was always for serving
mana to folks rather than saving money
for me or for ministry.
So that was Paul's testimony to the
leaders or elders whom he invited from Ephesians.
Ephesians.
He said, "I have coveted no man's silver
or gold or apparel.
With my own hands I worked
and I paid my hotel bills and also the
I often tell Christian leaders and preachers.
preachers.
It should never be ministry for money.
It can only be money for ministry. Once
you change that order, a little bit of
twist will totally ruin you.
When Peter saw that lame man at the
beautiful gate, that was an awful sight,
he wanted some copper coins. But what
did Peter say? Silver and gold, I have
none. But I have the power of God. Rise
up. But today we are pathetic. We are beggars.
beggars.
We have lot of money. What do we say? We
have silver and gold but no power.
God have mercy on us. Help us Lord to
remove the sadness that is sticking to
your heart for ages, centuries.
Let us be the generation to wipe tears
from your eyes and make you happy again.
Oh Lord.
The sixth way or the sixth step
how we can make God happy by loving one another.
another.
By loving one another, we can make God happy.
happy.
We all know that any father will be
happy if he sees all his children living
and moving about and relating very peacefully.
peacefully.
If shalom
is the spirit of their home, their
you know what did Jesus say in book of Hebrews?
Hebrews?
Now all these references I have recently
picked up in this context you don't know
how much I was blessed before I can
bless the congregation I make sure that
I get blessed sufficiently because the
Bible says the hardworking laborer
should be the first to be benefited by
the crops.
Hebrews 2 chapter reading from verse 11
saying I will here is Jesus speaking to
the father I will declare your name to
my brothers identification
in the midst of the congregation I will
sing praise to you making his father
happy and again I'll put my trust in you
and again again and again here I am and
the children whom God has given me see
Jesus identify himself with us as a
brother and he identifies with us as our
elder brother.
Wonderful. And he tells the father, "Oh,
these are all my children whom you have
given me. It's a congregation
to raise the shouts of hallelujah to
make my father god happy." The same
thing he said in his high priestly
prayer which we very often turn to.
John's gospel 17th chapter. Look at the
22nd verse. You know what he prays? The
glory which you gave me, I have given
them that they may be one just as we are
one. The glory you gave me, I give them
same glory. Oh, I'm not able to just
withstand this thought. Beloved,
the glory that the father gave Jesus,
he gives us
he says I'm not able to believe it.
He says I'm not able to take it. Sorry. Jesus.
Jesus.
The glory which your father gave you,
you are giving us. Because only that way
can be one. As the father god and the
son god are one.
Beloved, sometimes we wonder what God
was doing in the precation period. We
have a clue of that in book of Ra. Don't
think that God began to exist only with
Genesis 1. No, Genesis 1 is when God
started the creation. But precreation
period, eternity past to eternity
future. Eternity past has no beginning
and eternity future will have no end either.
either.
Book of Proverbs 8th chapter
and look at verse 22.
The Lord possess me. This is Jesus
saying about the father. The lord
possessed me at the beginning of his way
before his works of whole. Before he
started creation
and then verses 30 and 31
the son of god Jesus says I was beside
him as a master craftsman.
He became a carpenter only after the
centuries but he was already a craftsman
at the right hand of God the father.
And I was daily his delight.
You know when we get a baby, we just
take the baby, kiss the baby, we just
rub its cheeks and then tickle the ears
and see just see the head and the hair.
Oh, very silky. That's what Jesus is
saying. I was daily my father's delight.
in his inhabited word. Are you with me?
Am I trying to put something into the
Bible which is not there? No. I'm trying
to dig out what we have failed to notice.
notice.
And he says, "My delight
was with the sons of men."
Even before he
was becoming a man, the word becoming a flesh,
flesh,
even before his incarnation,
you know, prophetically he says, "My
delight was with the sons of men." Well,
too much for me. I mean, uh, I don't
think that I'm able to fully understand
it, but because we all have only chicken
brain now, we won't be able to really
understand it. So what we don't
understand say simply amen then in
you know when we talk about loving one
another we should not have the elder
brother's attitude
he spoiled to the happiness of the
father and the entire family
you know if you read Luke's gospel 15th chapter
chapter
you know what this elder boy says your
son has Come.
What a dusty. Come on.
I feel like slapping him on his
son has come. But you know what the
father answers?
Your brother.
You say your son, but your brother has
come. Let's be glad and rejoice.
You know those days the Lord's prayer
was very often called let's say the
family prayers. You know I still
remember an old prosper of a CC church
in Nazareth. You know they used to have
house visits and when they they would
say now shall we say the shall we say
the family prayer?
You know what they meant by that family
prayer? The Lord prayer.
Have you ever noticed the Lord's prayer
is not in the first person singular?
It is in the first person plural.
Give us not give me give us this day our
daily bread.
Forgive us not forgive me and kill the
other fellow. No, forgive us our sins.
Lead me not. No, lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from you. Us.
So the very prayer that Jesus taught was
The first question God asked man was
where are you?
That we read in Genesis 3rd chapter and
the ninth verse.
And the second question is equally
important that is in the fourth chapter
nth words. Where is your brother?
Several of us have answered the first
question. Where are you? We have
answered that question but we are yet to
satisfactory answer the second equally
important question of God. Where is your brother?
Unless you answer this question you
cannot fulfill the twofold commandment
that Jesus reminded that young lawyer.
The first is love your God and second is
equal to it. Love your neighbor as
yourself. Where are you and where is
your brother? Don't say that oh I'm just
bothered about only myself. I cannot be
a keeper for my brother.
Now that's the attitude and the answer
we give without verbalizing our answer.
How bad beloved we will feel if our
family is divided.
Now that's God's worry today. His family
We keep
lamentably boasting
divided we stand
but that's not the problem. United we
stand divided we fall but the church is
making an empty boast. Divided we still stand.
Even the kind of thing that we try to
bring people together is more of an
union and not a unity. Union everybody
has labor union this union that that's
not what the church is supposed to be.
It should be known for its unity.
When we walk in love with one another as
Paul wrote
in the Ephesian epistle the fifth
chapter first two verses please turn to
it. It's really sweet smelling.
Ephesians 5th chapter and I'll read to
you the first two verses.
Therefore, be followers of God as we children.
children.
Walk in love.
Are you with me?
Just plain. If you're a child of God,
you have to walk in love. Otherwise, uh
it is a total dichotomy.
You cannot divorce your love for men
from your love for God. It it it is only
the two sides of one coin. Without stamp
on one side, that coin will not go.
That's why the apostle literally
pleaded. Turn with me to Philippians 2 chapter.
chapter.
I will read you the first two verses and
then ask you to notice something which
we are very casual reader will reader
will normally miss out.
If there is any consolation in Christ,
if any comfort of love, if any
fellowship of the spirit, if any
affection and mercy,
fulfill my joy by being like-minded,
having the same love, being of one
accord and of one mind.
Did you notice the first words?
If there is any consolation,
if any comfort of love,
if any fellowship of the spirit,
if any affection, if if literal begging,
Now we often think that the Philippian
church was above any criticism
but the Philippian church had their own
problem. That's why apostle priests like
that. Now one example he gives in the
fourth chapter vers 2 and three. Now
dear sisters who are listening to it
don't get angry with me. I implore Yudia
and I implore Cint. He could have said I
implore Yuda and Cint you know in order
to add stress. He says I implore
I beg of Yoda and I beg of Cint
to be of the same mind in the Lord. Why
you single out two ladies and say that
you know I think there is a clue in
their name itself.
Udia means fragrance.
Cint means fortune. In other words, one
was artistic and the other was
materialistic. Obviously, they were clash.
clash.
And Paul doesn't leave like that. He
somehow wants to get the thing done
because God has called us not to be
enjoying peace, but he has also called
us to be peacemaker. Blessed are those
who make peace. They shall be called the
sons and children of God.
Why should we bother about it? there's a
problem between both of them. No, you
can't go away like that. You can't brush
away your responsibility, brother, sister.
sister.
And he says, I urge you also true companion,
please help these women
to live in peace because they are good
people. They really support me in the
gospel and their names are in the book
of life. But they have a lot of quarrels.
So by making love
love
and maintaining peace
and relating to one another
with shalom,
we can gladden
Sevenly,
how can we make God happy?
By following the spirit's guidance. Mark
my words.
By following the spirit's guidance. I
don't generalize the word God's
guidance. I use the word the spirit's guidance.
guidance.
You know, concerning the Holy Spirit,
there are several instructions relating
to him to make God happy.
Ephesians 4:30,
grieve not the spirit
because the Holy Spirit is given as a
seal for your day of redemption.
If you grieve him, what will happen to
your salvation? What will happen to your redemption?
redemption?
Don't jeopardize that.
And in Acts 7th chapter 51st verse,
resist not the Holy Spirit. Grieve not,
And in Hebrews 3 chapter twice,
the Holy Spirit says, "Harden not your
hearts as in the day of temptation in
And first the third in 519
quench the spirit. Are you with me? Are
you able to see the sequence? Are you
see able to see the development?
Grieving the holy spirit. Resisting the
holy spirit. Hardening our heart against
the voice of the holy spirit and finally
quenching the spirit not killing it.
This happens in stages mind you.
One leads to the other. You first simply
grieve the spirit and then you start
resisting him and then you keep
hardening your heart
to according to your predition only.
God is not the loser. You are the loser.
And then finally a time comes when you
quench the spirit altogether.
It begins with grieving and
unfortunately I feel like weeping.
In so many of our lives the spirit is quenched.
quenched.
The spirit has not quitted.
See that's the problem.
It is like you know the holy spirit was
at home in your heart when you opened
your home to him and filled with the
spirit. Now by steadily and in stages
resisting the voice of the spirit and
hardening your heart against his might whisper
whisper
you have pushed him to a corner. It'll
be good if he exits you, but he doesn't
exit you. It'll be good if he quits, but
he doesn't quit. He simply goes and sits
in the corner quenched, quietened, silenced.
silenced.
Can you think of a heart of mine or
heart of yours? But the Holy Spirit is
still there.
He doesn't quit,
but he is silenced.
Beloved, under the new dispensation,
if the Holy Spirit should leave you
every time you commit a sin,
shall I tell you something?
How many shunting trips will have the
Holy Spirit to make heaven and earth?
And for how many people? No.
He takes a permanent residence according
to the New Testament understanding and
That's why David prayed even under the
old dispensation after he committed a
big blunder in his life and offers them.
You know what he prayed? Lord
take not the Holy Spirit from me. So he
knew that if he does little too far
further on sinking into sin a time will
come and the Holy Spirit will be taken
up. That's what his fear was. His
theological understanding gave him that
kind of an a lesson.
Now we under the New Testament
definitely Jesus said
I was with you for three and a half
years and I now going. But the Holy
Spirit whom I sent will live. He'll be
with you and he will be in you. He will
not nor will I leave you like orphans.
The call comes to us. If we have to keep
God happy,
stay sensitive to the leading to the
guidance to the whisper
of the Holy Spirit step by step.
You know the Holy Spirit is known for
his gentleness.
There are so many symbols for the Holy
Spirit and two outstanding symbols are da
da
and oil.
You know, I often used to think about
that Jordanian scene.
Jesus came out of the waters of baptism
to behold the lamb of God.
Lamb of God, the gentlest among animals
lights upon him dove from heaven. Dao is
the gentlest of birds. No, if you are
like a tiger and a wolf or a lion, how
will Dao come and rest upon you
comfortably? Oh, it'll be scared. That's
what many of us are doing to the Holy Spirit.
Spirit.
So yesterday we looked at Genesis 6th
chapter, sixth verse.
But when you find time, turn to the
third verse.
You know what God said? My spirit shall
not always with men.
I will not always fight with him. He is
after all flesh. Oh,
compassionate, sympathetic,
understanding God, we love you. We
praise you. We worship you.
But for his goodness and the Holy
Spirit's gentleness,
we all would have
got over totally finished
years years ago. No point in boasting.
We have walked with God for 60 years, 50
Let all those boasting be with you.
Don't even testify about it. Unless you
walk in step by step, moment by moment obedience
obedience
by listening to the whisper of the Holy
You know, I went through the whole Bible
to study the word patience and longsuffering.
Generally, patience is referring to man.
Generally there are some exceptions though
though
but longsuffering more often than we
think it refers to God
because that word longsuffering
is more emphatic.
Patience looks somewhat passive for me.
But when you say longsuffering,
it's an ongoing thing. Long suffering,
suffering,
it's active.
In Tamil, I don't know other languages.
In Tamil, it says not just poor,
patience is poor, but longsuffering need,
need,
it's endless.
But we should not mistake the
longsuffering of God.
Just like the servant of Abraham
brought Rebecca very safe on the camel
to Isaac's tent, the Holy Spirit is now
preparing us and bringing us
into our heavenly bridegroom's tent.
even Jesus
in 19 uh I believe it was in 1984 in a
women's camp again that was revival 84
I preached four or five messages on the
theme the spirit and the bride
and you can study it in my big book
bible highways
I gave three main talks under that theme
how the bride
hurts the spirit.
Number two,
how the spirit helps the bride.
And number three, how the bridegroom honors
honors
That is why
again and again in book of revelation
we read what the spirit says to the
churches. You know each letter begins
with what Christ says. What Christ is
sending as a message is a letter. But
the end of each of of the seven letters
you know how it ends. The words of Jesus
is the Holy Spirit who carries them.
What the spirit says present not said
what the holy spirit says to the churches
churches
beloved we provoke the spirit when we
start flirting
with the world and the worldings
that's why James said in his fourth
chapter verses 4 and 5 adulterers
adulterers
and adulteresses hey you are addressing
Christians you are addressing believers
you're addressing the of God. Don't
worry. Come to my point.
You adulterers and adulterers,
know ye not that the friendship of the
world is enmity against God?
Know ye not that the spirit that induls
adultery.
If we are flirting with the world and
the things of the world and if your mind
is over occupied with the things of the
it is a deep envy of the spirit that is
within us. Oh, I'm taking him to Jesus
the bridegroom and how is it on the way
this girl is flirting with somebody
else. That's the picture. The spirit who
indulses yearns jealously.
jealously.
Let me ask you a question. Which is your
and my friendliest company?
Spiritual friends or worlds? It is a checklist.
checklist.
Our relationship with the Holy Spirit is
so vital. Beloved,
if you insult to the spirit, it will not
be forgiven. Do you know that? What did
Jesus say in Luke 12:10? Any sin that is
committed against the son of man will be forgiven.
forgiven.
But any blasphemy against the Holy
Spirit will never be forgiven. Why? Why?
Why?
God in order to redeem man from the pit
and merry clay sent prophets all through
the ages.
He killed them
from Abel to Zagaria to Zed. All the
prophets were killed by us.
We are the murderers of the prophets.
How? By rejecting their message.
Then finally God thought okay let me
just like the master of one vineyard
owner sent his son but that son also
they just killed him.
We killed the son also. Don't say that
Jews killed. We killed the son also. Our
sins killed the son.
Don't say they killed. I killed. we killed.
killed.
Then the long-suffering God who still
loves mankind sent the Holy Spirit.
After he has sent the Holy Spirit,
there is nobody else there in heaven to
send to us to redeem us. Are you with
me? Are you with me? So if you reject
the voice of the Holy Spirit,
that's it. Fine.
Hey, excuse me. I'll have a cup of
Sorry. Eighthly, how can we make God happy?
happy?
By being fruitful, we can make God
happy. I like this.
By living fruitfully or staying fruitfully,
fruitfully,
we can make God happy.
You know, God plants each of us in his
vineyard according to his sovereign will
as a choicest seedling
as a present seedling. But
But
he saddened
when we gave sour grapes.
We referred to it in one of the earlier
points also. Look at that again.
Isaiah 5th chapter
first four verses. Let me sing to my wellbeloved
wellbeloved
song of my beloved beloved beloved
everything all loved language loud
delightsome words.
My wellbeloved has a how many times in
one verse? Sing to my wellbeloved a song
of my wellbeloved.
My wellb beloved has are you with me?
Are you able to catch the spirit of a
prophet when he proclaims this message
He had a vineyard on a very fruitful
hill that means fertile soil.
He dug it up out his stones and planted
it with the choicest wine. Not this
hybrid stuff. know
But what happened?
He expected it to bring forth grapes,
good grapes, but it brought forth wild grapes.
grapes.
Now, oh inhabitants of Jerusalem and men
of Judah, judge please. Should God plead
like that? God is calling
his people and saying, "Judge, please."
What does it mean? you. I'm so sorry.
Please help me.
That word please, it breaks my heart.
Why should God use the word please when
he talks to man? I can ask God, Lord,
And he says, what more could have been
done to my vineyard
that I have not done to it?
Now, the writer of the Hebrews
takes this picture

If you look at the verses that go before
that, that is verse four and verse five
and verse six and all that
the context is backsliding.
The context is lukewarmness.
After tasting the good word of God,
after experiencing the powers of age to

after being enlightened,
after having become partakers of the
He says it can only be cursed because
that's like a tree that keeps on
drinking the rain that comes from heaven
and it is on a good
soil, fertile soil, but it doesn't bring
forth fruit. It'll be cursed by God. Why
should that eat up and waste the ground?
Cut it off. That's what God would say.
That's God's mind.
But Jesus would come in between and say,
"No, no, no, no, no. Please leave it for
one more year.
I will again dig it up and fertilize it
and fence it.
If then also it doesn't bring food then
we can think about cutting it off. Jesus
comes to plead with his father to grant
us one more year. Friends 3 years God

That means they will have dancing. You

But how did it happen?
Instead of reaching the reached and
preaching to the preached and baptizing
the baptized, comforting the comforted,
caring for the catf, he went after one
who is lost.
Now that brought great joy up in heaven.

Please ask a question. Have we have you
led at least one soul to Christ?
I'm sorry. I'm not condemning any of
you. That's not my word. Condemnation is
from the devil.
But I'm interested in convicting you.
If you are just wasting up the ground
with only leaves, showy leaves, plenty
of leaves.
Even Jesus was cheated.
He thought that oh it's full of leaves.
We'll go, we'll have something to eat.
But there is no edible fruit.
He cursed it. How many examples all
Soulwinning glarance the heart of God.
You know we often refer to Isaiah 53rd
chapter which is the chapter on the
suffering savior.
You know what we come across there?
We read I believe it is in the 11th
verse. Yes it is in the 11th verse.
He shall see the travail of his soul

by making many righteous shall be
satisfied. Okay, my travail on the cross
You know Jesus besides the 12, he took
70 disciples because they task was huge
and 12 was little too little. So he uh
enter enrolled another 70 paired them
two by two and sent them into the
villages where he himself would
afterward go. Oh these fellows went and
came back jumping and hopping and
thumping and you know what they said oh
even the demons obey us. So they didn't
even go with faith that demons will obey
them. But they went see the secret is in
going not calculating will I be able to
do it? Will I be able to accomplish it?
Now you don't put your daughter and s in
college. Oh whether you will be able to
pass. Do you ask questions like that?
You venture
then you work hard
then you pass with grades.
See that exactly is what we are supposed
to be doing. So they came back singing.
Oh, even the demons work. They obey us.
You know what Jesus said at that time?
Jesus rejoiced in his spirit. We are
talking about making God happy.
Jesus rejoiced in his spirit
and lifting up his eyes to heaven. He
said father

The ninth way how we can
make God happy
is by pouring forth charity.
We can make God happy.
I don't say doing charity. I have chosen
another word which is so dear to me. By
pouring forth charity
you know in Tamil it's very beautiful.
You know it is not
beloved ofen I have shouted

I don't know whether Have you ever
noticed why God made a statement like
that in book of Exodus 23rd chapter
verses 10 and 11?
Six years you shall sow your land and
gather in its produce harvest. six years.
years.
But the seventh year
you will let the land, the ground and
the field rest and light fellow. Why?
Why?
You know if you keep on sewing
and forming year after year,
agricultural scientists would tell us it loses
loses
its strength. It needs to be replenished.
replenished.
So they say that not the same crop use
some other crop which may not take up so
much of the energy and inertia of that
soil. Now here God says six years you
saw but seventh year leave it let the
land rest and be replenished
and during that replenishing period also
there will be some crops coming up
that will be for the poor of your people
to eat.
So what they leave you know after the
poor just gather in their baskets even
what they leave if there is still
something left
the beasts of the field let them eat
because Jesus said consider the crows

it will be too much. Several of us will

That is seven. That old testament standard.
Why not?
Or even if that is too much,
several of us are good tithers.
Why not give another tithe? Set aside
another type for charity. They say today
I'm speaking to you with burden. If
possible, I'll come near you, hold your

Similarly, when you read the book of
Leviticus 19th chapter 9 and 10, you
know what God says? You do the harvest,
but you know the corner of the field,
don't scissor out everything. Leave it.
I say the corner, just leave it. Let the
poor man come and gra it.
And after saying it, you know what God
says? You know why I say that? for I am
the Lord God.
The same thing God said as an prelude or

commandment. I am the Lord God. Therefore,
