0:34 and now we read the word of
0:38 God beginning in verse 27 of Luke [Music]
0:42 [Music]
0:46 5 and after these things he went forth
0:49 and saw a tax collector named
0:52 Levi sitting at the tax office and he
0:54 said unto him follow
0:59 me and he left all rose up and followed him
1:00 him
1:03 and Levi made him a great feast in his
1:06 own house and there was a great company
1:08 of tax collectors and of others that sat
1:10 down with
1:13 them but the Pharisees and their scribes
1:17 murmured against his disciples saying
1:19 why do ye eat and drink with tax
1:21 collectors and
1:24 Sinners and Jesus answering said unto
1:27 them they that are well need not a
1:30 physician but they that are sick
1:32 I came not to call the righteous but
1:34 Sinners to
1:37 repentance and they said unto him why do
1:39 the Disciples of John fast often and
1:42 make prayers and likewise the Disciples
1:45 of the Pharisees but thine eat and
1:49 drink and he said unto them can you make
1:52 the sons of the Bride chamber fast while
1:55 the bridegroom is with them but the days
1:57 will come when the bridegroom shall be
1:59 taken away from them and then shall they
2:01 fast in those
2:05 days and he spoke also a parable unto
2:09 them no man putteth a piece of a new
2:13 garment upon an old if so then both the
2:16 new maketh a tear and the piece that was
2:19 taken out of the new agree not with the
2:22 old and no man putteth new wine into old wine
2:23 wine
2:26 skins else the new wine will burst the
2:29 wine skins and be spilled and the wine
2:31 skin Shall Perish perish but new wine
2:35 must be put into new wine skins and both are
2:36 are
2:39 preserved no man also having drunk old
2:43 wine straightway desireth new for he
2:46 Seth the old is
2:49 better but we have discovered that the
2:52 new is
2:55 better because Jesus Christ brings
3:05 everybody in capernium knew Levi the tax
3:08 collector the businessmen knew him
3:11 because they argued with him regularly
3:13 over his
3:17 assessments Levi's job was to stop the
3:20 Caravans that came down that road find
3:23 out what goods they were carrying and tax
3:24 tax
3:27 them Levi's job was toh work with the
3:30 fishermen there at the sea
3:31 find out what they had
3:35 caught and put Duty on it so the
3:38 businessmen knew him because he was a
3:40 businessman of course the Pharisees knew
3:43 him because he was a
3:45 traitor the Jewish Nation never wanted
3:48 to be in subjection to any other Nation
3:51 they were the people of
3:54 God the leader said to Jesus one day
3:56 we're not in bondage to anyone and yet
4:00 they were paying taxes to Rome
4:03 it's bad enough to pay taxes to Rome but
4:06 when you have to pay them to a Jewish
4:11 man who's working for Rome that
4:14 is about as low as you can
4:16 get if you want to call your
4:20 brother-in-law a nasty name call him a
4:22 Publican call him a tax collector for
4:27 Not only was Levi disloyal to his
4:30 Nation he was disloyal to his God God
4:33 how could any Godly Jew ever collect
4:35 taxes for
4:38 Rome and so the businessmen knew him and
4:41 the Pharisees knew him but Jesus knew
4:44 him our Lord had seen Levi many times
4:46 sitting there in his tax office collecting
4:48 collecting
4:52 money and Levi had heard Jesus
4:54 speak and he'd heard about the Miracles he'd
4:55 he'd
4:59 performed and Levi was an educated man
5:01 he'd had have to be an educated man to
5:04 work in his office and the spirit of God
5:06 began to speak to
5:09 Levi day after day as he was figuring
5:13 the accounts and assessing the duties
5:16 something was working in his heart and
5:19 then It Happened One Day Jesus Christ
5:22 came by and simply said follow
5:26 me and Levi left
5:30 everything and followed him
5:31 now most of the folks didn't understand what
5:32 what
5:34 happened there are three kinds of people
5:36 in the world you know those who make
5:38 things happen and those who watch things
5:40 happen and those who don't know that
5:42 anything is happening and this is the
5:44 way it was in capernium there were
5:46 multitudes of people who just didn't
5:49 know what had happened Levi was missing
5:52 from his toll booth oh we hear he's
5:55 following this um Jesus of
5:58 Nazareth I suppose the impact of Levi's
6:02 conversion was not too unlike that of
6:04 Charles coulson's conversion on
6:07 Washington DC it just shook the
6:11 place and Levi had called together a
6:14 feast and Levi called his friends and I
6:16 suppose some of his business associates
6:20 with him because he wanted to explain
6:22 what had happened that's what happens at
6:26 this feast in Luke 5 beginning at verse
6:29 27 and concluding at verse 39 you see
6:32 the publicans and the Sinners were
6:35 Overjoyed at what had happened the
6:37 Pharisees and the scribes were
6:40 scandalized at what had happened and as
6:43 a consequence Jesus had to explain what
6:46 was going on it went something like this
6:48 they were gathered together at the feast
6:51 the scribes and Pharisees were watching
6:53 and Jesus stood up and said from this
6:57 day forth your name is no longer Levi
7:01 your name is Matthew the gift of God
7:05 because I have given to you the
7:11 need you see Levi didn't throw this
7:15 Feast because he was mourning over losing
7:16 losing
7:19 something Levi threw this Feast because
7:22 he was rejoicing at what he had gained
7:25 he had become Matthew he had experienced
7:27 the gift of
7:30 God now the Lord Jesus Christ is still calling
7:31 calling
7:34 people he calls by his holy spirit
7:36 through his word he calls through the
7:40 lips of his people he calls through
7:42 circumstances the Lord Jesus Christ is
7:44 still going up and down the streets of
7:47 Chicago in and out of the apartment
7:51 buildings and he's saying trust me
7:53 believe in me follow
7:57 me now when you do this what will you
7:59 receive we're talking about Matthew the
8:03 gift of God what are the gifts that
8:06 Jesus Christ will give to those who will
8:08 trust him and follow him well they're
8:13 given to us here in Luke 5:
8:17 27-39 there are four of them that day
8:20 Levi became Matthew the gift of God
8:23 because he had received from the Lord
8:26 Jesus Christ by faith some very
8:29 wonderful spiritual gifts
8:31 and my friend these gifts are offered to
8:34 you today you may need
8:38 them gift number
8:42 one Jesus Christ gave to Matthew the
8:43 gift of
8:47 spiritual health Jesus said I'm the
8:49 physician and I've come that you might have
8:51 have
8:54 spiritual health now many people are
8:55 concerned about physical health and
8:58 rightly so if we don't take care of our
9:00 bodies we're going to die and if we're
9:01 dead we're not going to be much used to
9:04 a lot of
9:06 people God can call us home when he
9:08 wants to we're
9:10 prepared but meanwhile we take care of
9:12 our bodies health is an important thing
9:14 but far more important than the health
9:17 of the body is the health of the soul
9:21 the Inner Man the Apostle John wrote to
9:25 one of his friends I pray that you may
9:28 prosper and be in health even as your
9:32 soul is in health it's good to have
9:35 spiritual health you see the Lord Jesus
9:37 Christ looked around at this feast and
9:47 and sinners who were breaking the law of
9:49 God he saw people who were pickpockets
9:53 and people who were drunkards
9:56 and some harlots had come in from off
9:58 the street and there were a group of
10:00 Jewish people who weren't keeping the
10:02 law anymore they hadn't gone to the
10:03 temple they hadn't brought the
10:05 sacrifices of course the Pharisees were
10:07 looking at this crowd and saying sinners
10:10 sinners Jesus says wait a minute would
10:13 you go walking through a hospital and
10:16 say to a poor man sinner
10:19 sinner I look upon these people as spiritually
10:21 spiritually
10:23 sick and what they need is not
10:26 condemnation they know condemnation in
10:28 their own heart what they need is
10:31 salvation what they need is spiritual
10:34 heal have you ever thought of sin as
10:37 sickness now I'm not saying that uh we
10:39 aren't responsible for
10:43 it there's a real Trend these days to
10:46 take someone who has been a murderer and
10:49 say well he's not to blame he's sick oh
10:51 but he is to blame unless of course he
10:54 does have some mental problem here's
10:56 someone who has a terrible problem with
11:00 perhaps narcotics or or Al alcohol and
11:02 someone says well he's not responsible
11:04 yes he is responsible he has a
11:07 problem he has a sin
11:10 sickness and Jesus Christ is saying to
11:14 us today that sin is like sickness it
11:17 starts very small a little germ a little
11:19 infection gets into the system it
11:23 spreads it brings with it weakness and
11:26 fever and
11:28 restlessness and then ultimately it
11:29 leads to pain
11:33 pain and it can lead to death and sin is
11:37 this way sin just starts very small and
11:39 it gets into the system and it
11:41 spreads it brings with it fever and
11:44 discomfort and pain and restlessness and
11:46 the sad thing is people run down to some
11:49 religious supermarket and try to find
11:52 some remedy for it instead of really
11:54 getting down to the root of the trouble
11:57 which is sin and coming to the great
11:59 physician Jesus inste saying Lord you're
12:02 the only one who can cure me they try to
12:05 get some pill or
12:09 some medicine and it doesn't work
12:11 Jeremiah wept one day and he said
12:13 something like this about the false
12:16 prophets of his
12:20 day they have healed the hurt of the
12:24 daughter of Jerusalem
12:30 slightly peace peace but there is no
12:33 peace oh do you see it my friend sin is
12:37 just like sickness and you don't take
12:39 care of sickness by doing something on
12:42 the outside we've got to do something on the
12:43 the
12:45 inside and the only one who can do that
12:48 is Jesus Christ the great
12:50 physician we sing in one of our songs
12:54 The Great physician now is near the
12:56 sympathizing Jesus have you ever thought
12:59 of Jesus Christ as a physician but he's
13:01 not like any other physician that you or
13:04 I know you see he comes to us he's a
13:06 physician who makes house
13:08 calls he doesn't say now cough in an
13:10 envelope and mail it to me and I'll let
13:13 you know about it no the Lord Jesus
13:17 Christ comes to us he came to Matthew
13:20 and he said Matthew follow me he comes
13:24 to us and he diagnoses the case
13:27 completely the Lord never makes a single
13:29 mistake when he diagnoses the case he
13:32 looks right into the heart he knows
13:33 exactly what's
13:36 wrong I may have told you about um my
13:38 sister's allergy
13:41 tests some years ago she went through a
13:43 series of allergy tests and the doctor
13:45 told her she was allergic to brussel
13:48 sprouts and she'd never eaten one in her
13:50 life and she didn't even know what one
13:53 was now what he was saying was you are
13:55 allergic to things in that family of
13:57 course stay away from them which was no
14:00 problem our Lord Jesus never makes a
14:03 mistake in his diagnosis and he's not
14:06 rough about it he's so tender he's so
14:10 loving and so patient he tells us the
14:13 truth in love and he comes to us and
14:17 says look I can give you a complete and
14:22 final cure no experimenting no ifs ands
14:25 perhapses I can give you a complete and
14:27 final cure because I died for you the
14:29 amazing thing about the Lord Jesus as
14:32 the physician is this not only does he
14:35 come to us and love us and diagnose us
14:37 completely not only is he able to give
14:40 us a complete and final cure but he pays the
14:40 the [Music]
14:42 [Music]
14:44 bill you'd think more people would come
14:47 to the Lord Jesus and say oh great
14:50 physician my heart is
14:54 sick my whole life is sick there is the
14:57 infection of lust in my heart or or
14:59 temper or
15:03 whatever it may be but oh I need your
15:05 healing that's what we have to do the
15:07 reason some of you have never
15:09 experienced salvation is because you
15:12 won't admit you're
15:15 sick one of the hardest things a doctor
15:18 told me one day is to convince some
15:21 people how serious they
15:23 are there are people who run from Doctor
15:26 to doctor waiting to hear what they want to
15:27 to
15:30 hear our Lord doesn't do that our Lord
15:32 says if you want me to heal you you've
15:33 got to admit the need you've got to
15:35 confess you can't do anything about it
15:37 you've got to accept my diagnosis and
15:39 you have to accept my remedy well what
15:42 is your remedy believe on the Lord Jesus
15:45 Christ and thou shalt be saved I'm glad
15:48 that Jesus Christ is the great physician
15:50 because he gives us the gift of
15:53 spiritual health it's a marvelous thing
15:55 when you trust Jesus Christ as your
15:59 savior the Inner Man the Inner Man man is
16:00 is
16:09 healthy and Jesus died to make this
16:12 possible my friend no amount of religion
16:15 is going to cure sin
16:18 sickness we have to come to the
16:20 physician and be sure you get the right
16:22 physician be sure when you get to the
16:25 physician you look at his hands and make
16:30 sure they're wounded he is the Great
16:33 physician the gift of spiritual health
16:36 secondly there's the gift of spiritual
16:43 33-35 the gift of spiritual Joy they
16:45 said to the Lord Jesus why is it that
16:48 look at your disciples they're eating
16:50 and they're they're drinking and they're
16:53 they're laughing but there's John's
16:55 disciples and they fasting and look at
16:57 the faces of the Pharisees of course the
17:00 faces of the Pharisees were always solemn
17:02 solemn
17:06 Stern they mistook solemnity for
17:08 seriousness you know it's possible to be
17:09 serious and
17:12 smile it's possible to be serious and
17:15 laugh there are some of the
17:19 Saints whose faces would turn any sinner
17:20 away from the
17:24 Lord and the Pharisees were among them
17:25 look at the Pharisees they aren't
17:28 laughing they aren't rejoicing why is it
17:31 your dis deciples are so happy oh he
17:34 says that's the second gift I give you
17:36 the gift of spiritual health and I give
17:39 you the gift of spiritual Joy I'm the
17:42 bridegroom and when you go to a
17:44 wedding you
17:47 rejoice he says this Feast that you see
17:49 here is really a wedding Feast it's a
17:51 birthday Feast because Levi has been
17:53 born again and he's celebrating his
17:55 birthday but it's a wedding Feast I'm
17:58 the bridegroom and we're rejoicing
18:00 together because uh these people have
18:03 trusted me and were married did you ever
18:06 think of Salvation in terms of
18:10 marriage it's a Biblical Truth uh it's
18:15 here in the word of God salvation is
18:18 marriage over in Romans chapter 7 for
18:20 example the Apostle Paul says we are
18:22 married to Jesus Christ did you know
18:24 when you trusted Christ as your savior
18:27 you were married to him the church is
18:30 his bride and he's the bride Bri
18:32 Grom maybe you've been to a wedding
18:33 lately do you ever noticed what it takes
18:35 to get
18:38 married you don't say I
18:41 think you don't say I
18:44 hope you don't say I
18:47 feel you know what you
18:54 will when that fellow and Girl first
18:57 meet they get to know each other
18:58 intellectually but that doesn't get you're
18:59 you're
19:02 married and then what starts in the head
19:05 gets down into the heart and love comes
19:07 and they love each other still aren't
19:10 married you can know a great deal about
19:12 Jesus Christ and not belong to him you
19:15 can feel a great deal toward Jesus
19:17 Christ and not belong to him it's not
19:21 until that bridegroom and that bride
19:24 say I
19:26 will that's what does
19:29 it now Jesus Christ already has said I
19:32 will to you did you know
19:36 that him that cometh to me I will in no
19:38 wise cast
19:41 out my Lord has already said to you I
19:45 will whosoever will let him come but now
19:47 it's up to you to say I will and when
19:51 you say I will to
19:55 him we use um clothing sometimes to tell
19:58 things for example you see a fell in a
20:00 blue unifor for him with a blue hat on
20:02 and a silver badge you kind of
20:04 straighten up a little bit especially if
20:06 when he stopped you that blue light is going
20:11 around I think the most beautiful
20:13 uniforms we've ever seen have been over
20:16 in London my oh my they they have all
20:19 these crack uniforms just beautiful the
20:22 uniform the clothing tells on a person
20:30 postman he's not doing so
20:34 well we even use the term a riding
20:37 Habit to speak of the clothing you wear
20:40 when you go riding over in Colossians 3
20:42 Paul talks about clothing as a picture
20:44 of the Christian Life put off the old
20:46 clothes and put on the new
20:49 clothes and Jesus is talking here about
20:53 a garment he says now if you're wearing
20:56 an old garment and there's a tear in it
20:59 you don't go rip up a good new garment
21:02 and ruin it and put the new cloth on the
21:04 old cloth I'll tell you what'll
21:07 happen when you clean that garment and
21:09 wash that garment that new cloth will
21:12 shrink and it'll rip and be ruined
21:14 anyway they didn't have sanforizing back
21:17 in those days you know what he's saying
21:19 here he's saying I didn't come to patch
21:21 up your
21:23 life that's what some of you are doing
21:25 there people say oh yes I like the
21:27 teachings of the Lord I will accept his
21:30 teachings ah you've got to accept
21:33 him the whole thing His Garment was a
21:36 seamless robe remember that no patches
21:38 in His Garment he was wearing that
21:41 seamless robe and when he when he saves
21:48 righteousness and some of you want Jesus
21:50 to patch up your life Lord please take
21:53 away my drinking no he wants to give you
21:56 a whole new life not just a patch I'll
21:58 tell you why if he just patches up one
22:00 part of your life it won't
22:03 last it just won't last Lord I've got to
22:05 get rid of my gambling I've got to get
22:06 rid of my
22:10 life why not just get rid of the entire
22:12 garment I have a good friend who every
22:14 once in a while gets inspired to write a
22:16 song now his songs are never going to go
22:19 down in history but
22:22 um they're singable and they bless
22:24 people he was driving down the highway
22:26 one day and all of a sudden began to
22:29 sing to himself in the car I'm suppose
22:30 the people who were driving by thought
22:31 he was somewhat
22:35 strange but his song went like this oh
22:39 the best thing in my life I ever did
22:42 do yes the best thing in my life I ever
22:45 did do the best thing in my life I ever
22:48 did do was to take off the old robe and
22:49 put on the
22:53 new now that's a good song especially if
22:56 you're driving by yourself down the
23:00 highway and it's true it's true the best
23:03 thing in your life you ever could do
23:05 would be to take off that old Rob that
23:07 you've made a mess out
23:11 of my there's sin stains on that Rob
23:13 that go way
23:16 back you ever meet somebody whose uh
23:17 last four meals were on his [Music]
23:25 tie when the Lord Jesus Christ looks at
23:28 you and looks at me he sees the sins STS
23:30 and he says look I'm not going to Pat
23:32 you up I want to make you
23:36 whole I want to give you spiritual
23:39 Hess your life is being torn apart I'm
23:41 not going to Pat you up I'm going to
23:43 take that dirty old robe and get rid of
23:46 it and give you the clean new robe the
23:48 Spotless robe of
23:50 righteousness Paul puts it very
23:53 theologically over in second Corinthians
23:57 when he says for God hath made him Jesus
24:01 to be sin for us us he who knew no sin
24:04 that we might be made the righteousness
24:07 of God in him isn't that great to give
24:09 him the old
24:13 Ro and put on the new no wonder Matthew
24:15 was happy because the Lord Jesus gave to
24:18 him spiritual wholeness a new life
24:21 within that was whole a new purpose that
24:23 held his life together a new love a new
24:26 motive a new power oh if your life is
24:28 falling apart
24:30 if as you're spinning around in this
24:33 world you find your life just being torn
24:37 apart don't patch it up that won't
24:41 last just come and say Lord I stand before
24:42 before
24:44 you here's my
24:47 Rob I don't want it
24:50 anymore bury
24:54 it give me the new Ro and he'll do it
24:57 the gift of spiritual
25:00 wholeness verses 37-39 you have the
25:02 fourth of these marvelous gifts that the
25:04 Lord gives you when you trust him and follow
25:05 follow
25:09 him we've had the gift of spiritual
25:12 health the disease of sin
25:16 conquered the guilt of sin taken away
25:19 the power of sin broken the gift of
25:22 spiritual joy we aren't attending a
25:24 funeral we're attending a feast life is
25:28 a Perpetual Feast with the Lord the gift
25:32 of spiritual wholeness life being put
25:37 together not patched up and the gift of
25:40 spiritual fullness now he's talking
25:44 about wine in the wine skins they didn't
25:46 have bottles such as we have a
25:48 returnable or non- returnable they would
25:51 kill a goat and they had a they had a
25:55 unique way a cute way of extricating the
25:58 goat and leaving the skin whole
26:00 beautiful thing then they would take
26:03 care of drying preserving it and so
26:05 forth and and they would leave one of
26:08 the openings for the u neck of the
26:11 bottle and they pour their wine in there
26:13 now as you know wine has a way of
26:15 fermenting it's sort of
26:18 alive and if you put new
26:21 wine in old wine skins when all of this
26:23 begins to go to work
26:27 crack ruins the skin and Spills the wine
26:29 so you've got to put the new wine in new
26:32 wine skins that can
26:35 give you I fear that sometimes people
26:39 have the idea that Jesus came just to
26:44 put new ideas into Old forms he
26:47 didn't our Jewish friends were so
26:49 enamored of their Temple but their
26:52 Temple was an old wine skin and finally
26:54 God had to destroy
26:56 it they were so wrapped up in their
26:59 sacrifices and their priesthood and all
27:02 these things had been good in their
27:04 time but when Jesus came with the brand new
27:06 new
27:10 wine he couldn't pour it in the old wine
27:13 skins it would have spilled the wine and
27:15 broken the
27:17 Skins he says
27:19 Matthew I'm going to make a whole new
27:23 wine skin out of you and fill you up
27:26 with the wine of Salvation you know the
27:29 Lord Jesus Christ in the word of God and
27:31 other places in the word of God not just
27:41 Joy over in Acts chapter 2 at Pentecost
27:43 when the when the disciples were filled
27:45 with the Holy Spirit the crowd said they're
27:46 they're
27:49 drunk the unsaved crowd wouldn't accuse
27:51 us of being drunk dead be not
27:56 drunk we don't act like joyful vibrant
27:59 vivacious drunken people
28:02 over in act in Ephesians chapter 5 Paul
28:05 dares to say don't be drunk with wine be
28:07 filled with the spirit there's a
28:10 comparison there and even a
28:12 contrast Paul is saying God wants to
28:15 give you fullness Acts 2 is saying they
28:17 were filled with the Holy Spirit Jesus
28:19 is saying I want to fill you but don't
28:21 come to me with your old stuff I'm not
28:23 going to fill up your old
28:26 stuff now you got to get rid of that I
28:28 have to make you a new person then I can
28:31 fill you with the wine of my fullness
28:39 power the trouble is in verse 39 uh the
28:41 crowd was saying we don't want the new
28:43 we want the
28:46 old people are this way today now Jesus
28:49 didn't say in verse 39 the old is
28:52 better he's quoting the crowd the
28:53 Pharisees are saying well this is all
28:55 well and good but we want the old ever
28:58 heard that my tradition my my family has
29:01 believed this way for 200
29:03 years Jesus said don't bring me your
29:05 tradition it's an old wine skin I don't
29:08 want that my religion no I don't want
29:11 your religion I want
29:14 you oh people are saying the old is
29:17 better the old is not better it took God
29:20 40 more years to teach the Jewish people
29:22 the old was not
29:24 better and they still didn't learn it so
29:25 he destroyed their city and destroyed
29:29 their Temple wiped out their religion
29:30 he wrote them a book called Hebrews and
29:33 12 times in the book of Hebrews it says
29:34 better better better better what's
29:36 better Christ is better that's the whole
29:39 theme of Hebrews he's better than your
29:41 sacrifices and better than this and
29:43 better than 12 times better better
29:45 better and whatever it is you you're
29:47 holding on to I want you to know Jesus
29:50 Christ is better and the new wine of the
29:53 Gospel that fresh Wonderful Life In
29:55 Christ is better than anything you've got
30:01 Matthew found that out Matthew said I I
30:04 want Jesus Christ and he received that
30:06 wonderful gift of spiritual fullness in
30:09 other words he gives us spiritual health
30:13 and spiritual joy and spiritual Hess a
30:16 new garment and spiritual fullness a new
30:23 inside and life is a Perpetual walk with
30:25 the Lord through heartache through trial
30:27 but nobody Minds going through heartache
30:29 and trial trial and difficulty when
30:33 you've got health and joy and wholeness
30:36 and fullness you're prepared for life
30:40 then oh somebody here today needs to
30:43 come to the great physician and say I'm
30:46 sick I am sin sick from the top of my
30:49 head to the bottom of my feet there's
30:53 nothing but wounds and putrifying sores
30:56 and I'm getting worse oh great physician
30:59 heal me somebody needs to come and say
31:02 oh Heavenly bridegroom I'm miserable I'm
31:05 unhappy I thought I could be happy with
31:09 money or with fame or with experiences
31:18 joy somebody's life that's been all
31:21 dirtied and ragged needs to come and say
31:24 Lord look at this garment look at it
31:28 patched and dirty and ragged but oh I'm
31:30 going to give it to you give me the
31:33 seamless robe of your righteousness
31:35 someone who's empty and weak needs to
31:38 come and say Lord here's the wine skin
31:40 skin [Music]
31:41 [Music]
31:45 dry oh what good are my traditions my
31:48 religions what good are all these things
31:51 I'm so empty oh give to me your fullness
31:54 and you know what when you do that he'll
31:57 give you what you're asking for he wants
31:59 to give you all four of these gifts
32:03 today spiritual health and spiritual joy
32:06 and spiritual wholeness and spiritual
32:10 fullness but he won't force it on
32:13 you he's inviting you to the
32:15 feast will you
32:18 come he's going up and down the rows of
32:22 the Moody Church saying follow me trust
32:26 me will you do what Levi
32:29 did instantly
32:31 without argument without debate
32:35 completely and finally he got up and he followed
32:37 followed
32:40 Jesus he got a new name Matthew the gift of
32:41 of
32:45 God and the gift of God is yours
32:48 today if you'll obey his
32:51 call he says to you today will you trust
32:54 me will you
33:01 heavenly
33:04 father I know not how many there are here
33:05 here
33:08 today in need of meeting the Lord Jesus
33:10 but no doubt there are
33:13 some I pray that you might remove every
33:16 obstacle answer every
33:19 argument speak to every heart and may
33:22 there be those today who will come to
33:25 Jesus Christ thank you that salvation is
33:28 a gift thank you we don't have to charge
33:31 anybody Lord we stop to think that
33:33 Matthew spent his life charging people
33:35 and the greatest thing he ever got was
33:37 free Lord we thankful we don't have to
33:40 lay down any conditions we can just open
33:43 the invitation and say Come Oh May there
33:46 be those who will come and experience
33:50 these wonderful gifts that Jesus
33:52 died to give
