0:31 weby reading reading the word of God
0:34 from John
0:48 22 after these things Jesus showed
0:50 himself again to the disciples at the
0:52 Sea of
0:56 tiberias and in this manner showed he
1:00 himself there were together Simon Peter
1:02 and Thomas called the
1:06 twin and Nathaniel of canaa in Galilee
1:09 and the sons of zebede and two others of his
1:10 his
1:13 disciples Simon Peter Sith unto them I
1:15 go a
1:18 fishing they say unto him we also go
1:21 with thee they went forth and entered
1:23 into a boat
1:27 immediately and that night they caught
1:29 nothing but when the morning was now
1:31 come Jes Jesus stood on the shore but
1:34 the disciples knew not that it was
1:37 Jesus then Jesus sth unto them children
1:40 have you any food they answered him
1:43 no and he said unto them cast the net on
1:46 the right side of the boat and you shall
1:49 find they cast therefore and now they
1:51 were not able to draw it for the
1:53 multitude of
1:56 fish therefore that disciple whom Jesus
2:00 loved said unto Peter it is the Lord
2:01 now when Simon Peter heard that it was
2:05 the Lord he Girt his Fisher's coat unto
2:07 him for he was naked and did cast
2:10 himself into the sea and the other
2:12 disciples came in a little boat for they
2:14 were not far from the land but as it
2:18 were 200 cubits dragging the net with
2:21 fish as soon then as they were come to
2:25 land they saw a fire of coals there and
2:27 fish laid on it and
2:30 bread Jesus said unto them bring of the
2:33 fish which ye have now
2:36 caught Simon Peter went up and Drew the
2:40 net to land full of great fish 1
2:43 and3 and although there were so many yet
2:45 was not the net
2:48 broken Jesus sth unto them come and
2:52 dine and none of the disciples dared ask
2:55 him who art thou knowing that it was the
2:58 Lord Jesus then cometh and taketh bread
3:01 and giveth them and fish
3:03 likewise this is now the third time that
3:06 Jesus showed himself to his disciples
3:09 after he was risen from the dead so when
3:13 they had dined Jesus sth to Simon Peter
3:16 Simon son of Jonah lovest thou me more than
3:17 than
3:20 these he sa unto him ye Lord thou
3:23 knowest that I love thee he sa unto them
3:25 feed my
3:28 Lambs he said to him again the second
3:31 time Simon son of Jonah lovest thou
3:34 me he Seth unto him yay Lord thou
3:37 knowest that I love thee he sa unto him
3:38 feed my
3:41 sheep he sath unto him the third time
3:45 Simon son of Jonah lovest thou me Peter
3:48 was grieved because he said unto him the
3:50 third time lovest thou me and he said
3:53 unto him Lord thou knowest all
3:56 things thou knowest that I love thee
4:00 Jesus Sith unto him feed my sheep verse
4:03 19 and when he had spoken this he Seth
4:06 unto him follow me then Peter turning
4:09 about seeth the disciple whom Jesus
4:12 loved following who also leaned on his
4:14 breast at supper and said Lord who is he
4:17 that betrayeth thee Peter seeing him s
4:20 to Jesus Lord and what shall this man
4:23 do Jesus sayth unto him if I will that
4:27 he tar till I come what is that to thee
4:30 follow thou
4:34 me a great lesson in
4:48 today when Simon Peter denied his
4:53 Lord his sin affected two areas of his spiritual
4:55 spiritual
4:57 life his
5:01 fellowship and his discipleship
5:05 ship now his sin did not affect his [Music]
5:07 [Music]
5:10 sonship the Lord Jesus Christ still
5:13 dealt with Peter as a child of
5:16 God nowhere do the gospel writers tell
5:19 us that Peter lost his sonship because he
5:20 he
5:23 sinned but he did lose his
5:26 fellowship and his
5:28 discipleship and these had to be restored
5:31 restored
5:34 many times we have read from Psalm 23 he
5:36 restoreth my
5:39 soul well Peter experienced that in
5:43 this experience of John CH
5:47 21 privately the Lord Jesus Christ met
5:51 with Peter and restored the
5:53 fellowship you'll recall on that Easter
5:56 morning the Angels said to the women go
6:00 tell his disciples and Peter
6:02 now I think that extra phrase has two
6:05 meanings to it number one Peter has
6:07 somewhat lost his discipleship at number
6:10 two don't let him get discouraged go
6:14 tell his disciples and
6:17 Peter and that Easter afternoon the Lord
6:19 Jesus Christ met with Peter personally and
6:21 and
6:24 privately when the Lord is restoring our
6:26 fellowship he doesn't hang the dirty
6:29 wash out in public
6:32 but discipleship is quite something
6:36 else discipleship means living for the
6:38 Lord that's
6:41 public discipleship means learning from
6:45 the Lord walking with him listening to
6:49 him serving him and this is
6:52 public consequently the Lord had to deal
6:54 with this matter of
6:56 discipleship in The Fellowship of the other
6:58 other
7:00 disciples and so here John chapter 21 we
7:03 have the Lord Jesus Christ restoring
7:06 Peter to his place of
7:10 discipleship I'm glad that he did this
7:13 I'm glad Peter let him do it it's a
7:16 tremendous encouragement to us if anyone
7:19 here today has gotten out of fellowship
7:22 with the Lord or your discipleship has
7:25 failed you're not walking with him
7:28 you're not serving him then notice what
7:30 the Lord Jesus Christ Christ does in
7:33 John CH 21 as he restores the Apostle
7:36 Peter to his
7:38 discipleship I think that too many times
7:41 we Christians undervalue what it means
7:44 to be a disciple of Jesus Christ I grant
7:48 you the word disciples not used often
7:51 after the four gospels but the idea is
7:54 still there walking with the Lord
7:55 listening to the
7:59 Lord living with the Lord serving the
8:03 lord making progress day by day as we follow
8:04 follow
8:07 him you see the Lord Jesus Christ
8:11 restored the Apostle Peter to the
8:14 Privileges of
8:17 discipleship and there are four of them
8:19 and I would say to you today that Jesus
8:23 Christ wants you and me to enjoy the
8:26 Privileges of discipleship not just
8:29 sunship I know I'm going to heaven but
8:32 discipleship Heaven has come to me and
8:34 I'm walking with the Lord and following
8:36 him now what are these privileges what
8:39 privileges did the Lord restore to Peter
8:41 when he restored his
8:44 discipleship first the privilege of serving
8:46 serving Christ
8:48 Christ
8:56 1-6 if ever you have a p picture of
8:58 ineffective service it's right here they
9:00 were waiting for
9:02 Jesus the Lord Jesus had said now look
9:05 I'll I'll meet you in Galilee Matthew
9:07 tells us that the Lord appointed a
9:09 mountain where he would meet them in
9:11 Galilee and so they're waiting and
9:13 they're waiting I don't know about you
9:16 but in my life it's harder to wait than
9:17 it is to
9:20 work I confess to you there are times I
9:21 even get
9:24 impatient in my automobile waiting for
9:26 the light to
9:28 change I'm so important and I have so
9:31 much to do the Lord says sit there the
9:33 light's broken you're going to wait a little
9:34 little
9:37 while and they're waiting and while
9:39 they're waiting Peter says I'm going
9:41 fishing and the other men say we're
9:44 going with you now it's interesting to
9:47 read all all of the Bible commentaries
9:49 on this and discover they're divided
9:51 right down the middle there are those
9:53 who say Peter was right in going fishing
9:55 why waste your time go out and catch
9:57 some fish there are those who say no
9:59 Peter was wrong in going fishing God
10:00 didn't give them any orders and they
10:02 should have waited I'm inclined to
10:04 believe that Peter and the other
10:05 disciples were
10:08 wrong they should have just waited and
10:10 been where the Lord wanted them to be
10:13 when he was going to come to them but be
10:15 that as it may you certainly have here a
10:18 picture of ineffective service they had
10:21 everything going for them they had the
10:25 equipment Nets and boats they had the
10:27 experience four of those men were
10:29 experienced fishermen
10:32 they had the enthusiasm let's go fishing
10:34 I'll Wile with you that's always the
10:37 tragedy when some servant of
10:40 God gets out of the will of God he
10:42 always drags somebody else with him I've
10:44 seen this happen in
10:47 churches where one of God's uh children
10:49 will say I'm going to do this and he
10:51 drags somebody else with him then you've
10:54 got a problem but notice what happens
10:56 they fished all night and caught
11:04 Darkness disappointment
11:06 defeat empty
11:09 stomachs empty
11:12 Nets it's a picture of what happens when
11:15 you and I try to serve the
11:18 Lord without his
11:21 guidance Jesus Christ appears on the
11:23 shore and they don't even recognize him
11:26 and he calls out and says man have you caught
11:27 caught
11:30 anything that's a that's a bad question
11:36 fishermen and they just answer
11:39 no the least said the
11:42 better cast the net on the right side of the
11:42 the [Applause]
11:44 [Applause]
11:47 ship Travelers in Palestine tell us that
11:49 people on the shore can sometimes look
11:52 out into the lake and actually see the
11:54 schools of fish in fact some fishermen
11:59 used to have guides posted on the shore
12:00 and they would signal where they could
12:02 tell where the fish were sometimes you
12:03 could see more from the shore than you
12:05 could from the boat that's not what happened
12:06 happened
12:08 here the Lord was performing a
12:11 miracle and the difference between
12:14 success and failure was the width of the
12:17 ship you know sometimes you and I are
12:19 closer to success than we think we are
12:21 and the Lord Jesus Christ just has to
12:24 give us the orders and they obeyed him
12:27 and they caught a great catch of fish
12:30 and then John says it is the
12:34 Lord You See Jesus Was
12:37 preparing the Apostle Peter and the rest
12:40 of the disciples for the kind of fishing
12:41 they were going to do in the book of
12:45 Acts you see John 21 you turn the page
12:47 acts chap 1 they're
12:49 waiting and this time they don't go out
12:52 fishing Acts chapter 2 they go fishing
12:57 and catch 3,000 fish acts chap 4 2,000
12:59 more by the time it gets to Acts chap 6
13:02 the disciples are so busy taking care of
13:05 converts and sorting out the fish they
13:08 have to get help the Lord is preparing
13:10 them see one of the beautiful privileges
13:13 of being his disciple is serving Christ
13:16 effectively I fear a lot of Christians
13:19 are doing what these people did There's
13:22 enthusiasm there is equipment there's
13:25 expertise there's experience but there's no
13:26 no
13:29 blessing and they learned that morning
13:33 that Jesus when he said without me ye
13:37 can do nothing he meant just
13:40 that without me you can do nothing ah
13:42 but I've been fishing all my life
13:44 without me you can do nothing the best
13:47 Nets we could get without me you can do
13:50 nothing one of the Privileges of being a
13:52 disciple is the privilege of serving Christ
13:53 Christ
13:55 effectively and Peter learned that
13:58 lesson that morning without me you can
14:00 do nothing
14:01 there's a second privilege of being a
14:04 disciple it's found in Verses
14:08 4-7 the privilege of knowing Christ
14:10 Christ
14:13 intimately now it's one thing to serve
14:15 the Lord it's quite something else to
14:18 know the Lord and here is Peter pulling
14:23 in the net and John not Peter John says
14:30 Lord you see John was the one who used
14:32 to snuggle right next to the Lord's
14:35 heart this may bother some of you men
14:37 but I don't see a thing effeminate or
14:41 weak about that I see strength in it
14:43 John was a man's
14:46 man there was nothing about the Apostle
14:48 John that was
14:51 weak and John wanted to be close to the
14:55 Lord Jesus love has its eyes open and
14:58 when they caught this great host of fish
15:01 John said says it is the
15:04 Lord Peter didn't know that Peter should
15:06 have known
15:08 it when they caught this great host of
15:11 fish Peter's mind should have began
15:14 clicking and Peter should have said hey
15:16 I had a day like this once before did
15:18 you ever go through that experience that
15:21 the psychologist call Deja
15:23 Vu you've had that experience we've been
15:25 through this
15:28 before he had been through this before
15:30 in Luke chap five he'd fished all night
15:33 and caught nothing and Jesus showed up
15:35 on the shore and got in the boat and
15:37 said launch out into the deep and he let
15:39 down his Nets and caught a great host of
15:41 fish Peter should have remembered
15:42 that but he
15:46 didn't and John says it's the
15:49 Lord you see the Lord has those who are
15:51 far from him and the Lord has those who
15:54 are close to him there was a great
15:56 multitude of people around the Lord
15:59 Jesus during his ministry then there was
16:01 an inner circle of those who followed
16:03 him and then there was the inner circle
16:05 of the Apostles and then there was the
16:08 inner circle of the Apostles Peter James and
16:09 and
16:12 John and one purpose for an apostle is
16:15 to get to know Jesus better not just
16:18 serve him more effectively but get to
16:21 know him more intimately and that
16:25 morning Peter didn't know the Lord you
16:27 see he had sinned against the Lord and
16:29 he had
16:31 lost his
16:33 discipleship and now Jesus comes on the
16:36 shore The Stranger on the
16:40 shore and Peter doesn't recognize him
16:41 you see one of the evidences that we're
16:43 not really walking as close to the Lord
16:45 as we should is we don't recognize him
16:47 when he shows
16:49 up we don't see him in the word like we
16:51 ought to see him we don't see him in the
16:53 lives of others as we ought to we don't
16:55 see him in the hym book The Way We ought
16:59 to we don't see him in circumstances the
17:00 way we ought to and you know the Lord
17:03 Jesus wants us to get to know him more
17:06 intimately Peter knew him as Savior but
17:07 that's not
17:10 enough Peter needed to know him as Lord
17:13 and his friend and as the one whom he
17:22 heart which raises the question just
17:24 now are you and I getting to know the
17:32 through the word of God and through
17:35 prayer and through worship and through
17:37 fellowship with God's people are we
17:40 getting to know him more intimately Paul
17:43 had been saved 30 years when he wrote
17:45 that I may know
17:49 him know him when John was on the aisle
17:52 of patmas he knew a lot about the Lord
17:54 Jesus but then the heavens were opened
17:57 and he learned things he'd never known
18:00 before Oh that I may know
18:03 him that's the privilege of discipleship
18:06 if I speak to someone right now who's no
18:08 longer walking with the Lord you've
18:10 turned your back on him look what you're
18:14 missing the privilege of serving Christ
18:16 effectively and helping to catch the
18:21 fish and the privilege of knowing Christ
18:24 intimately but this leads to a third
18:27 privilege in verses 9-1
18:31 17 there is the priv privilege of loving
18:35 Christ more deeply now these go together
18:38 as we serve the Lord more effectively we
18:41 get to know the Lord more
18:43 intimately it's not the people who sit
18:46 in the grand stands and applaud who get
18:48 to know the lord it's those who are down
18:50 in the boat fishing it's those who are
18:53 out in the battlefield fighting it's
18:55 those who are out in the yard the farm
18:59 yard throwing out the seed
19:00 and you know as we get to know the Lord
19:05 more intimately we come to love the Lord
19:07 much more deeply and this is the thing
19:10 that Jesus talked to Peter about he said
19:12 Peter I just blessed your
19:15 hands you threw out the net and you
19:17 caught the fish but now Peter I want to
19:19 deal with your
19:21 heart I've opened up your eyes you've
19:26 seen me but now I want to deal with your
19:29 heart Peter
19:32 do you really love me more than these
19:33 you see you've got to remember that
19:36 Peter had boasted this way Peter had
19:42 said though all else forsake you I will
19:45 not forsake you I will go with you to
19:47 prison and to death it's a dangerous
19:49 thing when you compare your love for
19:51 Christ with the love that others have
19:54 for Christ and Peter as it were put
19:57 himself up in a pedestal and said Lord
19:59 the rest of this crowd may not love you
20:01 but I love you and Jesus says to him
20:04 Peter do you really this whole
20:07 circumstance was set up that Peter might
20:10 come to the place of a broken heart look
20:13 at it now they'd fished all night and
20:15 caught nothing and then Jesus appears
20:18 and says cast The Net they cast The Net
20:19 they caught the
20:22 fish that's what happened when Peter was
20:26 called in Luke chap 5 and Peter had
20:28 fallen down at jesus' feet and said Lord
20:32 depart from me and Peter heard Jesus say
20:34 oh no I'm not going to depart from you
20:35 you're going to follow me and I'm going
20:38 to make you Fishers of Men that was his
20:40 call when Peter got on the
20:44 shore there he saw bread and
20:47 fish the usual breakfast for a fisherman
20:49 bread and
20:52 fish and those bread that that bread and
20:55 those fish reminded him of something
20:58 back in John chap 6 he had taken bread
21:01 and fish and he'd helped to feed 5,000
21:03 people and then Jesus had preached a
21:05 sermon and the crowd got up and left
21:08 him and Jesus turned to his disciples
21:11 and said will you also go away and Peter
21:15 spoke up and said to whom shall we go
21:17 thou Hast the words of eternal life and
21:19 we believe and are sure that thou art the
21:20 the
21:23 Christ you see this circumstance not
21:25 only reminded Peter of his call but it
21:27 reminded Peter of his
21:30 confession Peter remember when you
21:33 confessed that I was the Christ and then
21:37 he saw a fire of coals the only other
21:39 place in the New Testament where you'll
21:43 find those words is in John 18 and Peter
21:47 came and stood by a fire of coals and
21:50 that was where he denied the Lord and so
21:52 my savior calls Peter and the other
21:55 Apostles to a fire of
21:57 coals that was an awfully quiet breakfast
21:59 breakfast
22:02 nobody was saying anything conviction
22:06 was deep shame was
22:09 real and how tenderly the Lord Jesus
22:12 deals with us now if you and I had been
22:13 doing this we would have said Peter
22:15 let's get things straightened out then
22:17 you can eat have you parents ever said
22:19 to your children unless you take care of
22:21 this you can't have
22:24 dinner our Lord didn't do that he said
22:26 come and dine back at the beginning of
22:28 John's gospel Jesus said come and and
22:32 see now he says come and dine and he
22:34 feeds Peter bread and
22:38 fish and then after he feeds him he
22:40 talks to his heart you know the Lord
22:42 does this I'm glad that when I have
22:44 strayed away the Lord doesn't come with
22:47 a with a pickaxe and a crowbar and
22:51 dynamite he comes with bread and
22:54 fish and he feeds me and shows me what
22:56 I've been missing and then he says now
23:03 once again the scholars are dis are
23:08 divided over the um these Greek words
23:09 you Greek students know that there are
23:12 two different words used here for love
23:16 there's the word fileto Philadelphia
23:19 Brotherly Love filo which means a fondness
23:20 fondness
23:24 for and then there is agapa which means
23:27 a deep sacrificial love if you'll read
23:29 the Gospel of John carefully you'll find
23:31 these two words are used interchangeably
23:33 but I think here the Lord is trying to
23:36 make a point he's saying Peter do you
23:38 really have a sacrificial love for me
23:40 were you willing to lay down your life
23:43 for me Peter says Lord you know that I
23:47 have a fondness for you Jesus uses agapa
23:51 and and Peter uses fetto in this Greek
23:54 text and so Jesus tries again and says
23:56 Peter do you have this agape love for me
23:58 and he says Lord you know that I I have
24:01 a fondness for you and so then Jesus
24:03 uses Peter's word well Peter you have a
24:06 fondness for me he said Lord you know
24:08 everything oh my dear friends we have to
24:11 grow in our love for the Lord don't we
24:13 not just have a fondness for him a
24:15 friendship for him but get to the point
24:17 where we are really
24:21 willing to lay down our lives for him
24:23 that's easy to talk about and easy to
24:25 sing about but so difficult to practice
24:27 he said Peter the day is going to come
24:28 they're going to put you on a cross and
24:30 carry you out and you're going to die
24:32 and that
24:34 happened one of the Privileges of
24:36 discipleship is the privilege of loving
24:40 Christ more deeply do we do this we want
24:42 to serve him more
24:46 effectively we want to know him more
24:50 intimately we want to love him more
24:53 deeply but it doesn't stop there in
24:55 verses 18-
24:58 21 there's a fourth privilege of disci
25:02 discipleship our Lord says Peter you got
25:03 away from
25:06 me Peter you have had your fellowship
25:08 restored now I want to restore you to
25:11 your discipleship I want you to serve me
25:13 effectively there's a fellow named
25:15 Cornelius who's going to need you and
25:18 Peter I want you to serve me effectively
25:21 I want you to know me intimately I want
25:25 you to love me deeply and
25:36 obediently I want you to follow me and
25:39 keep your eye upon me and that's why he
25:42 says to him in verse 19 Follow Me He
25:44 restored his discipleship the same thing
25:47 he said back in Luke 5 follow me I'll
25:49 make you Fishers of Men He says it again
25:52 aren't you glad our God gives us another
25:54 chance I'm glad that Jesus didn't say to
25:56 Peter you're through I've given three
25:59 years to you I died for you but you're
26:03 through he doesn't say that men say
26:07 that but God doesn't say that God said
26:09 Abraham you really fouled things up in
26:11 Egypt but get out I'll give you another
26:14 chance Jacob boy have you made a mess of
26:17 things but go back to bethl let's start
26:21 all over again Jonah woo you have really
26:23 disobeyed me but the word of the Lord
26:26 came a second time to
26:29 Jonah Peter you've disgraced me and
26:34 yourself you've disobeyed me but follow
26:38 me I want you to follow
26:41 me obediently you see how Jesus has
26:44 dealt with all of the inner man I want
26:47 you to know me intimately that's the
26:50 mind I want you to love me deeply that's
26:53 the heart I want you to follow me
27:03 commission he said Peter up till now all
27:05 you've been doing is catching
27:09 fish I don't want you to stop doing that
27:10 but I want you also to start taking care
27:12 of the sheep you see the Lord uses two
27:15 different pictures of people here when
27:17 we go out to win souls we're catching
27:20 dead fish and giving them
27:23 life but when we take care of God's
27:24 people we aren't taking care of fish
27:27 we're taking care of sheep that's why he
27:31 says to him feed my sheep Shepherd my
27:35 sheep feed my Lambs care for my people
27:37 when you read first Peter you find him
27:40 doing this in chapter 5 he talks about
27:42 the Lord Jesus as the shepherd He talks
27:44 to the Elders of the church as the
27:46 overseers and the
27:49 Shepherds he says Peter I want you to
27:53 obey me and follow me let's go he gives
27:55 him a brand new call and a brand new
27:57 commission and when Peter got up and
27:59 started to walk and follow Jesus he had
28:02 no idea where he was going he didn't
28:04 have to know as long as he was close to
28:06 the shepherd that's all that counts and
28:07 Peter was going to walk right into
28:10 chapter one of Acts and help them elect
28:12 a new Apostle he's going to walk right
28:14 into chapter 2 of Acts the holy spirit's
28:17 going to come in power 3,000 are going
28:18 to be saved he's going to keep on
28:21 walking following the Lord and winning
28:28 flock but from the very beginning he had
28:30 the same old
28:33 problem he got
28:35 distracted and as he's walking following
28:38 the Lord he hears footsteps behind him
28:40 and he does something a disciple must
28:42 never do he got his eyes off the lord
28:44 it's the third time now that Peter's
28:47 gotten his eyes off the
28:50 Lord in Luke chap 5 when he had this
28:53 great catch of fish he got his eyes off
28:56 the Lord on himself and said depart from
28:58 me I'm a sinful man and Jesus said get
29:02 your eyes off yourself Peter follow
29:05 me in Matthew 18 when he was walking on
29:07 the water he got his eyes off him off
29:08 the Lord and started looking at
29:11 circumstances we've all done that and he
29:14 began to sink now he gets his eyes off
29:16 the Lord and starts looking at other
29:18 Christians a disciple cannot follow the
29:20 lord while he's watching other
29:23 Christians these three distractions
29:25 cause a great deal of trouble look at
29:27 yourself you'll get discouraged look at
29:29 circum stances you'll start to sink look
29:32 at other Christians you get critical
29:34 critical
29:36 proud we have a lot of this going on
29:38 today the chief Indoor Sport of many
29:40 Saints is people
29:42 watching and they have binoculars with
29:45 Bible verses on
29:48 them and they're always watching some
29:50 preacher or some evangelist or some
29:52 Saint find out what they're doing and I
29:54 feel like saying to these people what
29:57 Jesus said what is that to thee keep
29:59 your your eyes on the
30:02 Lord you know I have enough to do to
30:04 keep myself following the Lord without
30:06 trying to straighten everybody else out
30:08 now I do have a shepherding
30:10 responsibility and I do try to fulfill
30:12 it but you know what I'm talking about
30:15 that critical spirit Lord what's this
30:17 man going to do what's that to
30:19 you follow
30:22 me during Mr Moody's Ministry there were
30:23 always people who were critical of Mr
30:26 Moody we've forgotten those people Mr
30:28 Moody is still remembered
30:33 what is that to thee follow thou
30:37 me and he had the privilege of following
30:40 Christ obediently do you see what you
30:41 miss when you aren't walking with the
30:44 Lord oh to me it would be a
30:47 tragedy if Peter had not been restored
30:48 to his
30:50 discipleship he would have missed
30:53 serving Christ effectively he that doeth
30:56 the will of God abideth forever he would
31:00 have missed no KN Christ more
31:03 intimately he would have missed loving
31:04 Christ more
31:07 deeply he would have missed following
31:10 Christ more
31:11 obediently and I wouldn't have been
31:15 talking about Peter
31:17 today but maybe we aren't talking about
31:21 Peter maybe we're talking about you or
31:23 me perhaps there's someone here today
31:25 who needs to come to the Lord Jesus and say
31:26 say
31:29 Lord I I used to follow you I used to be
31:31 one of your
31:33 disciples I was getting to know you and
31:36 serving you and loving you and and then
31:39 I got away but I want to come back will
31:41 he have you back of course does he want
31:43 you back
31:46 yes will he forgive yes will he restore of
31:48 of
31:51 course perhaps someone here today says I
31:53 never started I've never come to trust
31:56 the Lord Jesus but if this is what
31:58 salvation is all about being being
32:01 forgiven and then serving him and
32:03 knowing him and loving him and following
32:05 him that sounds like excitement where
32:09 does this Trail end it ends in
32:11 glory there came a Time When They
32:14 Crucified Peter and his body was laid to
32:16 rest and his soul went home to
32:19 Heaven his discipleship was
32:21 over oh my friend if you've never
32:25 trusted Jesus Christ come to trust him
32:28 if you have trusted him and strayed over
32:31 Way come back to him because the life of
32:35 a disciple is a privileged life and
32:37 you're missing so
32:40 much without
32:44 him thank you Father for the joy and the
32:47 blessing and the privilege of
32:50 discipleship I pray for any here today
32:52 who have never entered into this
32:55 beautiful life who have never trusted
32:57 Christ that today they will come and
33:01 Trust him for those who have strayed oh
33:04 Lord bring them back today may they find
33:05 at your
33:07 feet the satisfaction and the
33:10 forgiveness and the new beginning that
33:15 only you can give we pray in Jesus name
