Honorable Deputy Minister, distinguished
delegates, the moment of truth has
arrived. We're coming to the end of two
impactful days. This has been the 2025
edition of the Global African Hydrogen
Summit. Before we get into some of those
agreements that had been entered into on
these premises based on the partnerships
forged during the engagements, I'd like
to invite to the podium Mr. Damian
Howard, senior vice president
responsible for energy at DMG Events for
some remarks. Let's please give him a
round of applause. [Applause]
Honorable Deputy Minister Cone
of Industries, Minds, and Energy, thank
you so much for staying with us until
the 11th and hopefully the 12th hour.
Appreciate you've had two very, very
hectic days, very busy, and we hope that
they've been productive.

I was asked at an interview recently if
I could briefly explain the theme uh

the high iron site.
This is evidence of our theme and what
we mean in practical terms, ambition in

revolution.
My name is Damian Howard, senior vice
president of DMG Events, the organizer
of the Global African Hydrogen Summit.
And I would like to take this
opportunity to thank our government partners,
partners,
to thank the National Planning
Commission, the Honorable DG, who was
with us for many of these moments across
the past two days,
the NIPDB, our strategic partner, and of
course the Namibia Green Hydrogen
Program. But beyond this, we have had
our guests, honorable and otherwise, we
have had partners, exhibitors, delegates
coming from far and wide. So, thank you
all for your attendance here to enable
this to to happen.
The theme also supports the notion that
more than just an event, this is
actually a movement to unify and empower
governments, industry, and even civil society
society
to drive tangible action.
And so to that end, it gives me the
greatest of honor to officiate the
concluding ceremony

Are we able to please give Mr. Howard
another round of applause? [Applause]
This is more than an event. It is a
movement to drive action. Another round
of applause, please. [Applause]
So at about quarter past 2 this
afternoon we already saw an agreement
between Daes and Tason and what we
witnessed earlier was an agreement
between Noman Essa and Bosch Mobility
and next up I would like to call on
Sigun Leela pillar coordinator in the
team Europe initiative opportunitydriven

Excellencies, distinguished delegates,
members of the media, good afternoon.
It's a privilege to address you at the
global African hydrogen summit, this
important economic
event. I wish to commend the government
of the Republic of Namibia and the
organizers for convening this timely
gathering of policy, industry and
finance who seeks to realize the

of the Namibian people and the whole of
Africa for prosperity and development.
Today, Algeria is honored to officially
announce its accession to the Africa
green hydrogen alliance, AGA.
By joining AGA, Africa stands with its
African brother countries in a shared
endeavor to build an integrate and
investable market for green hydrogen.
One that advances our continent's energy
transition, accelerates
industrialization, and reinforces export potential.

We are convinced that this addition
which constitutes a new step towards the
Africa we want will open a deeper
partnership with AGA members, states and
with Namibia in particular whose
leadership in convening this summit has
helped forge shared African approach to
building the hydrogen value chains.
Africa's proposition is coupling
worldclass solar and wind resources,
expanding transmission backbones,
ports and corridors ready for convention
and a young skilled workforce. Algeria
adds to this proposition a longstanding
energy ex export tradition, proximity to
major markets and readiness to could

Dear excellency, distinguished guests on
behalf of the African Green Hydrogen
Alliance. I'm very happy to welcome
Airaia as a new member of the alliance.
And as you heard, there's a lot of um
commitment and there's a lot of
potential in Algeria, especially for the
green hydrogen sector, same as here in
Namibia. And so we are looking really
forward for a good cooperation with
Algeria. We have a lot of expectations
as we heard in the pipeline from Aeria
via Italy to central Europe. So that is
one of the projects we are working on.
So welcome to the African Green Hydrogen
Alliance. Thank you ambassador

you here for DMG for make it happen and
thank you to all of you for listening
Are we able to please give them another
In the words of the ambassador of the
people's democratic republic of Algeria
to the Republic of Namibia, the
assession of Algeria to the African
Green Hydrogen Alliance is a commitment
to collective delivery. That certainly
for us all to witness a partnership
announcement that will pave the way for
new research partnership for robust
sustainable growth policies. I'm super
delighted to call on Beth Tr, vice
president, global energy transition
environmental defense fund to speak to
us about that. Massive round of applause.
Let me start by thanking all the
distinguished officials in attendance,
the government of Namibia, partners and
organizers. I'm honored to have been
part of this amazing summit this week.
I'm Beth Tras from the International NGO
Environmental Defense Fund where I'm a
vice president for energy transition and
I lead our work on hydrogen and
alternative fuels. During the summit, we
kicked off a new research partnership
between three organizations.
Environmental defense fund, a global NGO
focused on climate, Africa practice, an
Africa focused strategic advisory firm,
and development re-imagined, an
international development consultancy.
Our goal with this partnership is to
explore what additional actions and
support are needed to ensure that green hydrogen
hydrogen
delivers on two important objectives.
Number one, helping Europe achieve its
very important climate goals which are
significant globally for stabilizing the
climate. And number two, advancing green industrialization
industrialization
and local inclusive growth within Africa.
Africa.
Namibia's leadership, an early mover in
green hydrogen, is a critical case study
for our research on how innovative
financing partnerships, workforce
development strategies, and policy
design can ensure that green hydrogen
creates local value in terms of new
industries, quality jobs, and inclusive
economic growth while avoiding
traditional extractive models and all
the while ensuring meaningful full
alignment with Africa and Europe's
long-term development and
decarbonization priorities.
Yesterday, we convened around a
leadership round table
to gather input from policy makers,
industry, investors, and key
stakeholders from within Namibia, across
Africa, and from Europe.
We thank them for their contributions.
The partnership will publish a study
based on this work in advance of the
European Union African Union summit this
November where we'll use the findings to
help shape future policy and investment strategies.
strategies.
We look forward to continuing this
dialogue about how green hydrogen can
drive both global decarbonization
and local inclusive economic growth.
Thank you all and we look forward to
Is this not ambition in action? Have we
not really and truly started fueling
Africa's green industrialization
revolution? Massive round of applause, please.
I'm starting to develop very serious
separation anxiety. We've come to the
final item on our program. We are about
to witness anou being signed between the
China hydrogen development and
innovation alliance for urban gas as
well as the Namibia Green Hydrogen
Program. In that regard, I'd like to
call on Dr. Wong and Mr. Mkenwa for that
[Music]
Uh we are delighted. We are delighted to
side the to side the MOU with Namibia
green hydrogen program which means a
long and successful partnership.
Thank you David,
thank you James and also thank you
Damon. Thank you DMG and thank you all
of my dear friends here and uh we are
looking forwards that the cooperation
about the Africa and China will promote
the hydrogen development
Maybe just to start with the protocol uh
honorable deputy minister or
distinguished guest invited guest in the
venue. Uh thank you for staying this
long. Yeah, I think um in the words of
our deputy minister and also our late
president Namibia is
enemy to none and their friend to all.
Uh there's always been talk why is it
only Europe? Why is it only Germany? uh
why is it only Netherlands? So what
you're seeing now is that uh China also
wants to partake in this uh opportunity.
We're going to learn a lot. I think all
of us know what China can bring to the
table. We're excited and uh yeah, thank
you for staying to witness this and we
look forward to this new partner for not
just for the program but for Namibia as
Thank you very much. Another round of
applause for them, please. [Applause]

On that note, honorable deputy minister,
your excellencies, distinguished
delegates, we've come to the end of the
2025 edition of the Global African
Hydrogen Summit. Please give yourselves
[Applause]
Thank you. And as a reminder that you
must please visit the land of the brave
for an extended period and invite friend
and foe from your home country and
elsewhere. We end off with this video
put together for us by one of our
strategic partners, the Namibia Tourism
Board to just make sure that the message
is sufficiently driven home in the very
unlikely event that there's still some
doubt in your mind. From me, Denver

Space and time, they have always been connected.
connected.
A delicate balance. Two ingredients
needed for experience to happen.
Our time is our own to reflect, to
dream. But we need space to grow, to
make those dreams reality.
Namibia gives you that space. Our
country is a celebration of contrast, of
people, culture, nature, and a thousand
colors. But it's also a place where time
and space exist in harmony. So whether
it's the highest dunes, the oldest
desert, or the clearest night sky, let
Namibia give you the perfect space for
you to take your time. Time to explore
or to stand still. To find yourself or
lose yourself, to connect with old
friends or make new ones, to experience
and savor new sights, sounds, and
flavors. To stop and appreciate not just
the little, but the things in life, too.
Time to experience things your way,
sustainably and responsibly, all in a
space that is bursting with welcome. So,
join us and visit Namibia, because here,
time and space are both on your side. [Music]
