In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ibrahim, peace be upon him, did something that no one would dare to do with his courage, strength, and faith
He destroyed the idols worshipped by his people instead of Allah
The people returned, rejoicing to see the blessings of the idols and how their sacrifices were accepted
They returned, joyful and hopeful, on the day of their celebration, only to encounter that terrifying scene
The idols were destroyed!
Their idols were in peices!
That idols inherited from their forefathers were crushed in front of their eyes
They protested, “Who dared do this to our gods?
The sentence that their spelled brings fear!
Someone is asking: "Who has done this to my god?"
The question itself causes terror!
If they had a sound mind, they won't ask this question
"Who crushed my god?" or "Who broke my god?" or "Who put my god down?"
How did this god became a god in the first place?
Who asked this question? The people, the elites, the leaders
They protested, “Who dared do this to our gods? It must be an evildoer!”
Some people pointed their fingers to Abraham
Because no one else besides him insults the idols
Some said, “We heard a young man,
To debase him, they said: "Someone called Abraham."
They didn't know that he is the best among people in that age
They didn't know that they are talking about the freind of Allah
Some said, “We heard a young man, called Abraham, speaking ˹ill˺ of them.”
They said: "Bring him in front of the people so they can see him."
We need to make a trial to this boy called Abraham
We need to know if he is the one who destroyed the idols or not
If he is guilty, we will judge him publically
All the people gathered: the men, the women, the mobs
In reality, all of them are mobs, barbarians, and impure because they worship the idols
Imagine how shallow their minds and ethics are
Abraham was brought by force in front of people while they are looking at him!
What were they saying?
Imagine the situation: some of the leaders were waiting for the trial in front of the people
Abraham is standing in front of them while the idols are in pieces
They asked, “Was it you who did this to our gods, O Abraham?”
Do you know to whom you are speaking to?
It's Abraham that Allah granted to clear evidence
Millions of people like you won't be able to debate him
You want to make a public trial? This is exactly what Abraham is looking for!
Abraham was waiting for this moment!
"Is it you who have done this to our ideos, O Abraham?"
Abraham looked at them and said: "the biggest idol have done this."
"Have you seen the biggest idol? It was him who destroyed them."
The people are mobs and barbarians
Some people believed this
People had a very low IQ and Abraham started to spread doubts among them
He knows that people are misoriented but the most important thing for him are the leaders
He said: "The biggest idol has done this. Ask them if they can speak."
"Ask the destroyed idols about the one who destroyed and crushed them."
"They will tell you that it's the biggest one."
Look at the method of Abraham, it is like he is making fun of their views and ideas
The judges and the leaders started to talk
So they came back to their senses, saying ˹to one another˺, “You yourselves are truly the wrongdoers!”
This is a moment of purity!
Sometimes, a moment of sound intellect could arrive to anyone even a mad person or a disbeliever
They said to each other: "This is true while you are condemning this boy? Do you really believe that these are idols are worthy of worship?"
"You are the real wrongdoers!"
This is a moment of purity
Their natural disposition spoke out but this was only for a few seconds
Suddenly!
Then they ˹quickly˺ regressed to their ˹original˺ mind-set,
They went back so quickly
˹arguing,˺ “You already know that those ˹idols˺ cannot talk.”
"Abraham, how can we ask them while they don't speak?"
Look at the unsound and the illogical response
Why are stating this illogical response?
They said: "You know very well that our gods do not speak let alone when it's destroyed"
“You already know that those ˹idols˺ cannot talk.”
Abraham told them at this moment in front of the people loudly
He rebuked ˹them˺, “Do you then worship—instead of Allah—what can neither benefit nor harm you in any way?
The people were listening
He is the wisest among them despite his young age
He gave a speech to the leaders while everyone was listening
Shame on you
Look at his audacity!
Shame on you all; the standing, the sitting, those who listen, and those who are looking
Shame on you and whatever you worship instead of Allah! Do you not have any sense?”
Everyone was shocked!
What are they going to say?
The clear evidence prevailed despite he is a young boy
The people started to believe that everything he is saying is the truth
The leaders got afraid that the people would believe him
They brought him to judge him but he is the one who is judging them
No one was able to respond
BURN HIM!
The people were listening
BURN HIM! BURN HIM!
The voices got loud!
“Burn him up to avenge your gods, if you must act.”
They cought him
The news reached Nimrod
He asked them to bring Abraham to him and it was done
Nimrod was a tyrant king. He ruled with oppression, and he held dominion over the east and the west
Nimrod called out Abraham when he heard that he had dared to break the idols
The people were calling to burn him
He ordered them to bring him
"I want to debate this boy and defeat him."
Abraham was taken from Iraq to the place of Nimrod in the Levant
They placed him in the castle of Nimrod
The ministers were around him
Nimrod was on his throne surrounded with some of his attendants and executioners, the young boy was brought before him
The prophet of Allah who is calling people to Allah, the Almighty
Are you ˹O Prophet˺ not aware of the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord because Allah had granted him kingship?
Allah granted him kingship
He wants to debate Abraham about his Lord
He wants to debate whom? It's Abraham!
If you want to debade a normal individual, you won't be able to defeat him
But what if you debate Abraham, the prophet of Allah?
Do you even know him?
If you knew him, you won't dare!
When they brought Abraham in front of Nimrod
He said: "Who is your lord, O Abraham?"
"Who is the god that you worship which is different to ours?"
He said: "My lord is the one who gives life and causes death."
He brought up a characteristic that no one can deny
If you have an atom of logic, you won't deny this characteristic
"My lord is the one who gives life and causes death."
Nimrod kept quiet and then said to his servants: "Bring me two people who were sentenced to death."
They brought him two people who were sentenced to death
He said to Abraham: "As for the first, release him and let him go home. As for the second, you decapitate him now."
He died
He said to Abraham: "Have you seen? I gave life and caused death."
The king reached to a level of madness because of his tyranny
Abraham is talking about something while Nimrod is talking about something else
What is the relation between this and giving life and causing death?
Is it because you killed someone, does it mean that you possess death?
No relation at all!
You acquitted him of execution, does it mean that you gave him life?
Which madness is this? He is alive before even he knows you!
Abraham didn't debate him
He didn't argue with him that his view of death and life is wrong
Because Abraham has the clear evidence and knowns very well that it is futile to debate these kind of people
This man is mad tyrant!
You won't be able to engage in an intellectual argumentation with him
It will be futile!
Abraham challenged ˹him˺, “Allah causes the sun to rise from the east.
"Since you claim that you are lord, make it rise from the west."
Nimrod was dumbstruck and he knew what Abraham means
He knew that if he keeps on arguing with him, he will defeat him in front of everyone
He know the level of his smartness and his strong evidence
Are you ˹O Prophet˺ not aware of the one who argued with Abraham about his Lord because Allah had granted him kingship?
˹Remember˺ when Abraham said, “My Lord is the One Who has power to give life and cause death.” He argued, “I too have the power to give life and cause death.”
Abraham challenged ˹him˺, “Allah causes the sun to rise from the east. So make it rise from the west.”
And so the disbeliever was dumbstruck.
He was struck!
And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
He was unable to respond
What is he going to say? Is he going to make the sun rise from the west?
He didn't even know how to answer
His minister told him: "The solution is what the people are demanding: burning him."
The people are demanding a persection by fire, then, sentence him to burning
He accepted and ordered him executioners to imprison him
Why should he be imprisoned?
He was imprisoned until they collect firewood to burn this disbeliever who does not believe in our gods
Do you see how tyrants act?
When they don't have an argument, they have one solution: killing, burning, torturing, imprisonment
This is their logic and this is their argumentation
Abraham was imprisoned to be executed
Nimrod ordered his ministers and soldiers to prepare the fire
The location of the burning of Abraham was designated
The people were collecting all sorts of firewood to burn Ibrahim Al-Khalil
The people were even shouting
They concluded, “Burn him up to avenge your gods, if you must act.”
Those who want to avenge and defend his gods, which was broken, should collect firewoods to burn Abraham
The situation has reached the point where a woman vows that if her child recovers, she will gather firewood to burn Ibrahim
They made it the greatest of offerings to the idols and gods
They collected firewood and anything the can be burned to burn the freind of Allah, Ibrahim, peace be upon him
while he was imprisoned
The people managed to collect firewoods similar to a big building
They said ˹to one another˺, “Build him a furnace and cast him into the blazing fire.”
They collected the firewoods for almost a month and then, they lightened the fire
They were even unable approach the fire that they kindled because of its greatness
Even the birds in the sky die and fall down because of the intensity of the fire's heat
Even the Quran named it: the blazing fire
It was called a furnace, not even simple firewoods
What kind of energy they had! What kind of wood did they collect to burn this young man who called them to worship Allah, the Almighty?
They were collecting the firewood for a whole month!
Until they made a huge fire!
Nimrod ordered to bring Abraham and to tie him with ropes
They said that they won't be able to approach the fire to throw him in it
He said: "Place him on the catapult."
Do you know the catapult?
It is a tool with which they throw enflamed rocks
He said: "Place him on the catapult."
Because they won't be able to appreach the fire because of its greatness and its hugeness
This pious young man who believes in Allah
There exists only two other believers: his wife and nephew
How will they even be able to defend him?
He was placed on the catapult to be thrown in that huge fire
The heavens and the earth resounded
The whole universe resounded because they wanted to burn Abraham
Even Gabriel himself descended to the prophet of Allah, Abraham
And he said to him: 'O Ibrahim, do you have any need that I may fulfill for you?'
You can imagine that Nimrod, the leaders, and the whole population from their men, women, elders, children came to witness the scene
"Today, we are going to avenge our gods!"
Abraham was tied with the rope on the catapult
Gabriel came to him and said to him: 'O Ibrahim, do you have any need that I may fulfill for you?'
"Just ask and I will save you from this situation."
Just one word!
If he said it to Gabriel, he will destroy the earth and everyone on it
Just one blow from Gabriel and all the fire with all of its people will thrown away
Just one blow from Gabriel and no one will remain alive!
If Abraham wanted this to happen then he would have asked it to Gabriel
But what will happen?
Will Abraham ask Gabriel to save him or will he be thrown into the fire?
What will happen to Abraham if he is thrown into this huge hell fire?
What will happened next?
How will the prophet of Allah will be saved?
Stay tuned in the story of Abraham peace be upon him
