What negative things Poland has and positive things and of course
what I miss the most now that I don't live there.
Hello, welcome to my channel. If you don't know me, I'm Elena, very
delighted to meet you. As you have already seen in the title,
today we are going to talk about Poland and my experience living
there. Specifically, I want to update one of my most viewed
videos and where you ask me more about Poland. What
is this video where I tell you the good and the bad of living in
Poland. I will update what I said. In that first video
with my experience of three years living in Poland. What
negative things . Poland, what positive things. And of course, what
do I miss the most now that I don't live there. It was
clear that at no time do I intend to offend or criticize.
Poland, well Poland has been a country that has caught me. Where
I have felt super loved and super cared for. And that in short,
that it has brought me many good things, among others, my
dog Vega. Without further ado. We started. We are going to start with
the negative part and thus we take it off now. The
negative things are surely trivial things, things that I
have lived and that surely have nothing to do with what
you can live. And it is also very important to note that I
have lived in northern Poland. Specifically in the
city of Gdance. We are living in the Polish city of
Gudance. Grance? Dance. So surely if you go to another
area, you have other experiences. You live other types
of issues. But hey, saving those distances, this
video is going to be very useful. Let's go with the negative. As
a negative aspect of living in Poland, the first thing that
comes to mind is the polar bureaucracy. Last time
we are in the center we have come to fix some
documents, some papers, this is the case, I think there is
no country in which people say that the bureaucracy is
wonderful, and if it exists, tell me which countries, that I am going right
now pa there. But the truth is that the Polish bureaucracy
brings it to them, it is a very slow bureaucracy, with a lot of
paperwork, many comings and goings, and also if you are not
Polish, it will cost you triple, first because you have
to know Polish to If you don't know, you need a
translator and then things get a little darker and
more complicated. Because for everything you need the translator,
that the person who attends you feels like it, because many
times that I, as a foreigner, were going to do some paperwork. And
going with a translator girl, many people were already very
predisposed to uf. What a headache these foreigners give me
. That I understand it, that we give a lot of
work. But hey, we have to do things the
same. So hey, saving the distance, the Pole is a
tremendous headache. As a second negative thing and this is
something that, as I say, is something more trivial and very subjective and
that depends on your preferences. Something negative about
Poland, but which of course is not the fault of Poland, is the
weather and the climate. Of course, when I went to live
in Poland I already had this, but it is not the same to
imagine it than to live it. March 9. It goes to me. And although you will not
find yourself, I did not find an arctic cold,
impossible to live. You have to find many differences with
respect to my country, native, Spain. The beach with snow.
Snow on the beach. The worst thing for me was the lack of light, since
in winter it dawns around eight o'clock or so and the sun
usually goes down by two-something, three at the most.
All this is turned on. Three, everything, now and for me, besides, I
worked there in my own school and we worked in the
evenings, it was very difficult to make life, basically you have
to adapt for a few months to live like this, with a
few hours of light. If the sun rises, because it
is often cloudy. And then, well, living at night, which
one also does, nothing happens. But I already say, for me, and it
is something that I do not criticize Poland, it simply is. The
sun Shyly, but the sun. I describe something, but that for me
was negative because I did not finish adapting well. I missed
the sun so much, the light. I also know that many Poles are
very hard and I understand them perfectly because whether or not you are
from a very sunny and very hot country, it is difficult to spend all
those months with almost no light and in such a dark and
cold way, but as I say this is a matter of tastes and depends on
each one. And it is also a matter of adapting, so
no problem. Many others have also asked me
what the environment is like when you are a foreign person. And here it
happens the same as it happens in all the countries of the world. There are
people who are very tolerant, very open, whatever you are, they
accept you as you are, but of course, there are always
people who will judge or who will not see you with good
eyes, but that happens in all countries, unfortunately .
So I cannot include or it seems ugly to include as a negative point
, the fact that there are people who do not accept or who are not so
tolerant with some aspects, since it depends on which
people you give, from which part of Poland, in short, from a lot
of things. I particularly always advocate not to judge
anyone and any country. Let's leave it parked. There is now a
positive part and what I have done the most about Venus
of Poland. As was done at the beginning, for me, Poland,
although it had its difficult things, which was difficult for me to
adapt, gave me many good things. I wanted to highlight
as a first positive point the Poles and the concept of
Polish friendship. Many people, as a result of that first video I
made, have been telling me if it is difficult or not it is difficult to
make friends in Poland, if they are very serious, if they are very shy.
This, of course, depends on the person. But it is true that
generally speaking, Poles are people who need
time to create solid and lasting relationships. They
take their time to get to know you better, to become you, but
when a person for whom they finally open up and establish a
relationship with you, it really is incredible. I have friends in my
particular case, wonderful, who when I have needed
anything, they have been, they have given me everything I
have needed. Our friends have gone and look, what a
bag, they have brought us things, so when we go
home, I will show you everything because they have brought us both fish and
pierogis. These are what they have given us, that I am going to run to
put everything in the refrigerator, but I wanted to show you. This I
have almost done. Look, don't tell me. It looks good.
They are homemade cieroguis. These here are mushrooms. And these
here have cabbage. They wrote to me today, they told me,
Elena, we have little things for you if you want, for Christmas. They are a
love. Look, a few things. A little of that is a meal. You
see, traditional, Polish. Oops, it smells good. Is that so?
It has tomato. Giving me and giving me a lot of things
to help me make my stay there and my life
in general there better. And of course if there is something that
I have to defend to the death, it is that I really, although they seem
shy, serious, more cut at the beginning. Poles are
very excellent people, very hospitable, and they will
take great care of you, because when they really care about someone they
really care. Of course, this depends on each person, that
is, you can also find an ogre.
As in all parts of the world. As a second positive thing that
I love and that I have greatly missed Poland
that feeling that you can take your animals
wherever you want. For example, in my specific case, I have a
dog, it is also a dog that we adopted in Poland. And in
Poland it was super easy with her to access restaurants
, establishments, shops, wherever, almost practically
all places you could take your puppy and they always gave you
a little bowl, with water, or there were options even for
dogs. Which is wonderful and I miss it a lot
because in Spain, although more and more people are opening up.
Here is a little dog, in an establishment, in a store, it
is true, I have not seen it here, in my personal experience,
as I saw it there in Poland, which obviously, I was in a
city environment, which is normally more open , is
that in each site, in each site, there were opportunities to
take your puppy, I take vegan. And that is something that I
value very positively. So if you have a pet, and you are
thinking of living in Poland, you are going to love it because there is a
wonderful environment with animals. On a
positive number three is Polish food. And it is that although
I am not a fan of all Polish food, the same thing happens to me with
Spanish, right? That there are things that I like and there are things that
I don't like so much. It is true that I have missed
some typical Polish dishes a lot , and that I really
have to try again as soon as possible. Dishes that you have
to try if you go to Poland Shure, Fierogy, Cavanose, as a
weekend snack, and a lot of other things. What can you see in these
videos, I made you where I show you snacks, sweets,
typical Polish food so that you can see what the food that was in
Poland is like, which I really enjoyed. We're going to
get drunk. I am going to Angeles that now I have missed a lot
. As a fourth point and that you are very positive if you
plan to move to Poland. The currency they have. The oh, as
we say in Spain, is lotti. You will say, is that everything is much
cheaper. Well, certainly not all. In fact, I have a
video in DT, I tell exactly what the change is like and how
expensive or cheap some products from different
sectors are, technology, food, and so on. That I
leave it for you here. So that you can take a look when you finish
watching this video because it is very interesting for you to get
an idea of what that price range is like. But what I do
have to make clear is that the food is very noticeable
when you go to buy a supermarket is cheaper than,
for example, in my case in Spain. Positive for Poland and
for Swoting. Next positive point is
nature. Really, I will never tire of saying it.
Poland has incredibly beautiful nature and landscapes
. Not only that it has beautiful cities like Vedans,
Sopo, Warsaw, Varkovia, Porsche, Goberslavia, it has
wonderful places, but nature in Poland is
so beautiful, it fascinated me and in fact it reminded me a lot of the
north of Spain, Galicia, that lush green vegetation,
because there are frequent rains, that I in northern Poland
really enjoyed, because it was a great pleasure to go for a walk and
suddenly find a lush, green, beautiful forest
, I love it. Linked to the theme of nature, it is that
in Poland, all the seasons of the year are very noticeable.
A heat also with a moderate temperature, not like
in Spain. And I, in particular, right now, is that I
am suffocating because the heat wave is coming out, but
the wave is not over, and I have suffocating heat.
That milder temperature I loved. Also, the fact
that Guedans had an incredible beach. And in winter with
snow if you are lucky that it snows. Because this is true
that it has changed in recent years and in Gedance, at least
there was a year that it did not snow so much. So this depends a
bit on climate change. But when it snows how beautiful. He
gets everything and how beautiful. Hello, look what is
snowing. It's snowing. Crazy. I do not know. Well, I think it
is appreciated that it is falling a lot. Everything is very
white. Behold. White, white, white. What madness.
I would also say that Poland offers you a great atmosphere. If you
don't speak Polish yet. There are many, many foreigners who,
like me, came to Poland, we don't know anything about Polish and
we have to learn. But in that sense Poland is
super good with foreigners. There are many sites, many
people who offer to help you. Learn that language
perhaps in exchange with you teaching, for example,
Spanish, or practicing English, all this. Also
all the cinemas, all the films are in version
so if you know English you can go to the cinema. No problem, it's not
all in Polish. And most importantly, if you need help
on the street or somewhere there is always, always, always
someone who speaks English and who will help you. That is something that
is very appreciated, because while you are in the
process of learning Polish, it only has one vowel. I'm going to
try to pronounce it. Just. Just. How difficult. Sure, it would be
faster, right? We have it. About. In fact, I
recommend that you learn Polish because they will already see how
much more open to you anywhere in any
context. If you speak or try to speak Polish, so
I recommend it by a thousand. I think this would be pronounced
something like I think. Oh very well. If you need to speak English in any
case, always, always, there is someone. And besides, I
no longer know if this is a trait of all Poles, or in my
specific case , of the people that I met in Grans, there is a
wonderful environment to learn languages. Poles
in general are people who are very open to learning new
languages and who are willing to learn, not a foreign
language , but more than one, more than two and even more than three.
So, if you are a person who loves to learn
languages, you are going to make a lot of friends, because there are many
Poles who speak many languages and that is something
incredible and that fascinates me. As a person,
linguist and language teacher that I am, so I
like it. What do I like to me. As you can see, although I have Spain in
my heart and I have lived here again. I'm very happy. It is
true that I would not change for the world. My experience
in Poland because although it has had its pluses and minuses. I
have had a super enriching experience on a
personal and work level. I have met people that if you are watching
this video I love you very much. And that I have made you a lot, a
lot less, guys. And I said, I'm going to cut the chat
because I'm going to cry. I'm going to cry with the
foolishness. If you liked this video do not forget to leave me
a good like, that I see it. If you are interested in the subject of
Poland, go see my playlist of living in
Poland, because you are going to enjoy it a lot and you are going to get a lot
of valuable information from my stay there. Ciao! ❤️
