Core Theme
The content criticizes South African Members of Parliament (MPs) for prioritizing superficial displays of wealth and engaging in performative actions, such as shaking hands with individuals accused of corruption, over their actual duties of governance and accountability. It argues that this focus on outward appearances and wealth signaling, rather than substantive achievement and ethical conduct, is detrimental to the nation's progress and sets a poor example for future generations.

Fellow South Africans, please look at
these so-called members of parliament.
These are the men and women that you
queuing up to shake the hands of a man
who they have heard so many horrific
things about. The man who has told us
that he paid Beya hundreds of thousands
of rands in order to unfairly get a
contract awarded to him. Hello. Nice to
meet you, Mr. Cat Matala. You did very
well, sir. Very, very well done. I mean,
knowing everything that we know, I can't
even fathom what on earth anybody could
be saying to Cat Matla right now. They
didn't care that the cameras were
rolling. They didn't care that their
voters would see them. No, they joined
the queue and all of them had to get in
a handshake. Maybe Cat Matlala will one
day give me a Woolly's bag full of cash
too might have been their thinking. Who
knows? When given a chance to ask
questions to Cat Matlala on behalf of
South Africans, listen to one of the
questions we heard from a man who is
getting paid millions in our taxes in
order to make sure that he does things
to better our lives. Many of you people
got up on the 29th of May, 2024 and
voted for this. Take a listen. What is
your educational level? >> Metric.
>> Metric.
>> Metric only. >> Yes.
>> Yes.
that inspires a lot of kids with a
hotman and all that and is successful.
What would I advise them or how would
you advise them to to become you
so successful? What did you do from
metric to be so successful in business?
I wouldn't say I'm successful
>> to your level or >> Yes.
>> Yes.
>> That is a man from the MK party. I don't
even care to know what his name is. Just
imagine asking a question as dumb as that.
that.
>> Does it mean you haven't reached the
goal of reach? Is that what you're saying?
saying? >> Yes.
>> Yes.
>> But for making more more than a million
a month, you don't regard yourself successful.
successful.
No, I don't. I don't.
>> Okay. But what what would you
How did you get here and how long did it
>> Through security business.
>> Security business.
>> I mean, we all know that many young
people have been going into crime.
They've been robbing, stealing, lying,
and cheating their fellow countrymen in
order to buy cars and dress fancy like
Kad Madalala. We know very well that Kad
Madalala is an individual who is in this
life because he wants to wear these big
ugly shirts with big letters screaming,
"Look at me. I'm wearing Fandy. I'm
wearing Gucci. Therefore, I have loads
of money and I've made it in life."
childish poor taste and a disgusting
display of a wastage of money that was
meant to better the lives of South
Africans. This is quite frankly similar
to Scottani behavior. And to those who
may not know what Scottani behavior
looks like, take a look at this. We kill
it like nobody's business
and all. wearing expensive stuff,
drinking all the booze, girl chasing
after you, like being there, being the
main guy, best of the best. That's how
like being a Scotchan is like
>> for my parents everything was about politics.
politics.
But for me, life is about looking good
and having money.
Now, how is Kad Matala different from
these poor, childish, and uninformed
youngsters? Taking money meant to
improve the quality of life of the poor
and using it to flaunt to strangers. How
is Kat Matala different from a person
like Mom Kiz? Remember that she wore
those brands and had several branded
bags, but when SARS came knocking to
take those bags and the fancy brands in
order to get some of our money back,
what happened to Mamke? What happened?
>> The reality TV stars pricey personal
belongings are being auctioned. Louis
Vuitton, Gucci, Goryard, Balenciaga, and
Christian Dior are some of the designer
bags she's being forced to part ways
with. Bids are starting as low as 1,500
rand and going up to 20,000 rand. Only
23 of her designer bags will be going
under the hammer this week as SARS
continues efforts to recover unpaid
taxes. According to experts at Bid's
Choice, the 23 bags were the only ones
authenticated by third party experts,
confirming their status as genuine
designer items. Just imagine that many
of the brands were fakes. They were
fake. Now, some South Africans went to
great lengths trying to be like her, not
knowing that Mum Kiza was in fact faking
it. Yet even after we experienced that,
this MK fool wants to believe that Kat
Matala is wearing something that South
Africans should look up to. Where do we
even get the caliber of MPs that South
Africa has guys? He has poor taste. So
he thinks that we in our homes also want
to dress like this. Huh? Abu, we are
watching to hear what this guy did with
our taxes. We want to hear who was
involved in aiding him and what will be
the consequences. yet where now you are
out here distracting us with this very
very poor taste. Everything written
Gucci written Louis Vuitton and you
think that as well wealth. I think this
explains why so many black South
Africans are so easily separated from
their hard-earned or hard stolen money
to buy these so-called luxury brands.
Mom Keith has been wearing counterfeit
goods right in front of your eyes when
she could have been wearing originals.
She did it because they are gullible men
and women like this MK guy who is easily
deceived by the looks of things. A grown
man impressed by the most ridiculous
nonsense instead of being outraged by
the deeds of Kat Matlala. Why is he so
eager to impress this man? Why would you
try to tell a criminal that he has good
taste and clothes which he obviously
does not? And even if you like this poet
taste, does this look like the time and
the place to discuss that? Does it? I
already know what the comment section is
going to look like. Someone somewhere is
going to type, "Hey, Katla is just
jealous. He don't want to see black
people succeed, live well, and look
good." And that couldn't be further from
the truth. On the contrary, I make these
videos because I desperately want to see
black people and all South Africans
winning. But we need to be honest about
what winning actually looks like.
Success is not defined by wearing a logo
for everyone to see. Enjoying life is
not about going broke in order to
convince strangers that you are making
it. It's not. Now, if we and the leaders
that we put into power believe that
nonsense is success and making it in
life, then what are we doing exactly?
What message are we sending to the next
generation that is looking up to us? We
can't act surprised when a young person
gets their first real salary and instead
of investing in a skill or buying
equipment to start a side hustle or even
pursue their dream, they catch a taxi
straight to Santon City to queue at
>> Hello. Hello. Hi. I just want to know is
there are you guys waiting in the line
to shop? >> Yes.
>> Yes.
>> Is it a safe or something? >> No.
We cannot be shocked when a young man or
young women gets their December bonus.
And instead of using that capital to
start a business that would allow them
to stop working hours and kilometers
away from their families, they choose
instead to pay a deposit on a car that
they know deep down they can't actually
After saying stupid things like this on
national television, when young women
find themselves dating men like Kad
Madalala, risking GBV in exchange for
monthly allowances, we act shocked. But
were we not part of the problem by
encouraging this very lifestyle?
>> Allegedly, women fear bottom. I asked if
K Matala and his type of character is
your type. We got a reaction to that question.
question. >> Afternoon
because those guys have a plan.
>> I can't just date a church guy and expect
expect
no. They make things happen.
Those are the type of men we need. I'm a
When men become criminals like Kat
Matlala just to maintain these wildly
wasteful performative lifestyles, we
want to host endless commissions to
understand what went wrong. When we are
the ones who encourage the lie. When we
are the ones who said the label is more
important than the legacy. We are the
ones who taught them that looking rich
is much better than being rich. really
inspires a lot of kids
all the success. How would you advise
How did you get here?
>> Guys, we simply cannot continue doing
this to ourselves and to those who are
influenced by our words and also our
deeds. We have to change the culture.
And changing the culture starts with
condemning this nonsense instead of
celebrating it. I mean, this is a man
who instead of investing the hard-earned
or rather hard stolen money he had, he
chose to give it all away to non-African
brands such as Gucci, Fendi, Louis
Vuitton, just like the likes of Julius
MMA. Wearing shoes that cost 30,000 rand
and you think you've arrived. Really,
the dumbest people are found right here
in African parliaments. And if we don't
get them out through our votes, we risk
corrupting the minds of future
generations even further. Elon Musk
doesn't dress like this. Jeff Bezos
doesn't dress like this. Mark Zuckerberg
does not dress like this. Bill Gates
does not dress like this. Those are
billionaires and they don't dress like
that. So, who dresses like that? the
other dumb black people in America.
Unfortunately, the hip-hop rappers and
R&B musicians are the ones getting
tricked into wearing rubbish that
pretends to be luxury. To many of them,
the purpose of money is to show others
that I have it instead of growing it to
ensure that my family and I have it for
decades to come. We better wake up and
stop watching these commissions and
inquiries as if they are meant to
entertain us. This is not a Netflix
series or a soapian SABC. This is real
life. These are our taxes. These are
real criminals and this is our country.
Take it seriously and demand that the
members of parliament who are there as
per your vote take their jobs seriously
in the commissions of inquiry. I know
that there's a habit to make everything
a joke in South Africa, but there's a
time and a place for everything. Anyway,
that's it for today. Please leave your
thoughts on these members of parliament
who are busy shaking hands with Kat
Matala as if they are his fans or maybe
they are priming him to give them the
next Willy's bag filled with cash.
