Did you know that the words of your
mouth are taking your life somewhere?
Where are your words taking you? I have
some good words for you to consider.
Welcome to Free Indeed. My name is Barry
Bennett. I'm an instructor here at Caris
Bible College in Woodland Park,
Colorado. And I have the honor and
privilege of getting to share the word
of God with you and spend some time with
you and hopefully get you edified, built
up, and uh excited about the things of
God. That's my heart for this show. Uh
we want to be free from religious
baggage and bondage and all of the dos
and don'ts of of religion and we want to
know God and walk and talk with God and
be free in that relationship with him.
Walk by faith. Praise God. A lot of good
things that we're talking about in these
shows. And today I want to talk about
your words. I know we have many messages
on words and and we need them. I need
them. We all need to be hearing this
over and over again because our words
are so powerful. They are so important.
We have the capacity to speak and we can
speak either God's words or we can make
up our own. And we can speak either life
or we can speak death. We can speak
blessings or we can speak curses. All
kinds of of subjects. Anything that in
life is going to fall into the concept
of what kinds of words are you speaking?
I want to read to you a verse. 2
Corinthians 4:13.
2 Corinthians 4:13. and then I'll
establish what I want to do in today's
study. 2 Corinthians 4:13 says, "And
since we have the same spirit of faith,
according to what is written, I believed
and therefore I spoke, we also believe
and therefore speak."
It's called the spirit of faith. Now, in
yesterday's broadcast, we talked about
faith versus fatalism. I don't want the
spirit of fatalism in me. I want the
spirit of faith in me. And by by the
grace of God, I'm born again. I have the
spirit of faith. And faith speaks
according to what is written. I
believed, therefore, I spoke. So what
you believe is one thing, but what are
you saying or what you think you believe
is one thing, but what are you saying?
Because your words are actually
declaring what you truly believe. You
may think you believe something with
your head, but out of the abundance of
the heart, the mouth speaks. You can
fake people out for a while, but
eventually you're going to say what you
really believe. What do you believe? So
often throughout my Christian life, I
have made lists of confessions, we could
say, or declarations. I make different
lists of them. And I've made one
recently. This is very recent list of
declarations. And I thought, well, I'm
going to share this on the on the TV
show. I want you, if you take notes, I
have a lot of things to share with you.
You might want to jot these down. And I
think it will bless you. And if uh you
need to go back and review this this
episode again, make sure you get them
all. Please do that because what comes
out of your mouth is so important. So I
take time to say these things frequently
almost daily. I declare these things and
other things over my life, over my
marriage, over my family, over my
ministry, over my health, over my my
prosperity. I speak the word of God and
I hear myself when I speak and faith
comes by hearing. And so it just becomes
this this powerful cycle of declarations
based on the word of God to influence
and change my life. I am not going to
live by faith. I'm going to live by
faith. Amen. So let's look at some
declarations here. Romans 5:5. Romans
5:5 says, "Now hope does not disappoint
because the love of God has been shed
abroad or poured out in our hearts by
the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
Well, love is a fruit of the spirit in
Galatians 5:22. We have the love of God
in us. So, I declare that I walk in
God's love. That's my declaration. I
walk in God's love. And I will say that
to myself and I will say that throughout
the day. I'm walking in love. What does
that do for me? that keeps me focused on
being a blessing to people and not a
complainer, not a critic, not a crybaby.
I walk in love and so I can love people
even if the unloly. If someone comes
against me, I love you. I forgive you. I
don't I'm not going to take that as an
offense. I walk in love. I have God's
love. It's not my human love. It's the
love of God that has been shed abroad in
my heart by the Holy Spirit. Amen. I'm
going to go through these kind of
rapidly because I have a lot. Uh
Jeremiah 15:16.
Jeremiah 15:16 says, "Your words were
found, and I ate them, and your word was
to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart,
for I am called by your name, oh Lord,
God of hosts."
My declaration from this, I am filled
with the word of God. Your words were
found and I ate them. I am filled with
the word of God. That's my declaration.
That's my confession. I have God's word
living and abiding in me and I'm ready
to speak it over any situation. I am
filled with the word of God. I walk in
love and I am filled with God's word.
John 10:27 says, "My sheep hear my voice
and I know them and they follow me." So
my declaration is I hear God. I hear
God. I will never say, you'll never hear
me say I can't hear God or I don't hear
God. No, I do hear God. And I will say
that and I do hear God because because I
say that I believe that people that say,
"Well, I never hear God. God never
speaks to me." That isn't true. Get that
vocabulary out of your heart, out of
your mouth. Declare, "I do hear God."
And then talk to God and expect for
things to be quickened. I've never heard
an audible voice, but things get
quickened to my spirit. They come alive
in my spirit. I'm hearing God. Ideas
come to me. I'm hearing God. Wisdom
comes to me. I'm hearing God. somebody I
have a conversation from someone with
someone and they say something that
sparks life in me. I'm hearing God. We
need to believe that we are always
hearing God. So I hear God. That's my
declaration. All right, let's go on to
the next one. Psalm 36:9.
Psalm 36:9 says, "For with you is the
fountain of life. In your light we in
your light we see light. In your light
we see light." So my declaration is I
don't walk in confusion. My declaration
is I see life and light. I see it
because in his presence with you is the
fountain of life. In your light we see
light. Life and light in that verse. So
I declare. I see light. I see life. I
don't see sickness and death. I don't
see darkness and confusion. I see light.
I see life. That's what I believe.
That's what I declare. And that's what
grows in my life. Whatever I speak out
is going to grow in my life. It'll be my
reality if I believe it and declare it.
Amen. I have the spirit of faith. Praise
God. Let's move on. Romans 15:29.
Romans 15:29
says, "I know that when I come to you, I
shall come in the fullness of the
blessing of the gospel of Christ." So my
declaration, I walk in the fullness of
the blessing of the gospel. The full
blessing of the gospel is alive in me.
Every promise is yes and amen. I walk in
the fullness of the blessing of the
gospel. I believe, therefore, I speak.
When you begin to get into a rhythm of
declaring God's word over your life,
declaring promises, these and many
others, declaring them over your life,
it begins to rewire you. And if you
would stop declaring, "Oh, I don't think
I can do it. I don't think I have it. I
don't think I'll live. I don't think I
can do this. I can do I just don't know.
I'm just poor me." When that's your
confession, that's your future. Poor
you. But when you declare God's word,
you begin to get your heart pumping in a
different direction. Your spiritual
heart begins to take on the nature of
what you're saying, of what you're
declaring, of what the word of God says.
And you begin to declare these things.
And those words carry power. They carry
the nature of their source. And their
source ultimately is God. God spoke
these words. And we repeat them. We
believe them. We declare them. And even
if you're not fully convinced of some of
them, just keep declaring them because
faith comes by hearing. The more you
speak, the more you hear. And one day,
if it hasn't come alive yet, it will
come alive. And all of a sudden, you'll
have what you say. This is so important.
What are you saying? What? The the gift
of words is such a precious gift.
Monkeys don't have it. Dolphins don't
have it. They have primitive forms of
communication. But we can speak God's
words. We're made in his image. And what
are we using our words for? We have
words that can create, words that can
heal, words that can bless and lift
people up. We have that capacity. And so
many of us spend our time complaining,
criticizing, griping, whining with the
with the gift of God's words. We're
using them for darkness. This should not
be. Let's declare the word of God over
our lives, over our marriages, over our
families, over our careers, over our
ministries. Let's speak the positive,
lifegiving, gracegiving words of God and
see change. Amen. So
I walk in the fullness of the blessing.
Let's go to Psalm 103:es 3-5.
Psalm 103 3-5 says, "Who forgives all
your iniquities, who heals all your
diseases, who redeems your life from
destruction, who crowns you with loving
kindness and tender mercies, who
satisfies your mouth with good things so
that your youth is renewed like the
eagles." Well, there's five or six
confessions right there. I just summed
it all up for me as I have health and
strength. And we could add more. There
are several things in here. We could add
more. But I declare I have health. I
have strength. He has forgiven all my
iniquities. He's healed all my diseases.
And my I'm mounting up with wings as as
eagles. My youth is renewed like the
eagle. Amen. I have health. I have
strength. I declare these things over me
all the time because I came very close
to being dead. And I didn't have health
and strength at that point, but I do
now. And I am better than ever, stronger
than ever, doing better than ever
because of the the word of God. The
spirit of faith speaks. What spirit are
you of? What's coming out of your mouth?
What are you declaring over your life,
over your family, over your future? What
words are you declaring? Words carry power.
power.
They are activating the spiritual world.
They're either activating the thief to
steal, kill, and destroy, or they're
activating God to give you life more
abundantly. What are your words doing?
Amen. Next one. Psalm 65:11.
Psalm 65:11 says, "You crown the year
with your goodness, and your paths drip
with abundance." Your paths drip with
abundance. Oh, praise God. I love to
visualize that.
He crowns the year with his goodness. So
my confession is I walk in the abundance
of God. You say, "Well, my bank account
doesn't look like that." Well, it won't
if you keep saying that, but mine is
getting better and better. I walk in the
abundance of God. God is giving to me,
pressed down, shaken together, running
over because I'm a giver. Praise God.
His paths drip with abundance. Every
need I have is met. Every want I have is
met. I am walking in abundance. That's
my declaration. Now, my bank account may
not be as big as somebody I know it's
not. It's not that big, but it doesn't
change the abundance I walk in.
Everything I I can have anything I want
because I walk in God's abundance.
That's my declaration.
Because I live to be a blessing. I want
to give and bless and I want the fruit
of my righteousness to touch many lives.
So, I walk in the abundance of God. And
that abundance begins in here.
We have a lot this to share about where
poverty begins and where abundance
begins. But it begins in your heart. And
out of the abundance of your heart, you
declare either poverty or abundance. I'm
going to declare abundance. Amen. I walk
in God's abundance. Let's go to
Ephesians 5:18.
Ephesians 5:18. I hope you're getting to
write these down. It says, "And do not
be drunk with wine, in which is
dissipation, but be filled with the
spirit." There's other verses we could
add to this about this subject, but my
declaration, I am filled with the spirit
of God. I am endued with power from on
high. I have God's spirit in me and
God's spirit on me in the name of Jesus.
I declare that I am anointed. I declare
that I am anointed for teaching. I am
anointed for ministry. I'm anointed as a
husband. I'm anointed as a father, a
grandfather. I'm anointed. Spirit of God
is on me. That's my declaration. I'm not
going to let anybody steal these things
from me. Praise God. This is what God
has given us. He's given us his living
word. And you have the privilege of
speaking God's words or the enemy's
words. You get to choose. But one gives
life, one brings death. I'm going to use
my words for life, for health, for
blessing, for lifting people up.
Words have that power. Death and life
are in the power of the tongue. Amen.
Let's go to 1 Corinthians 2:16. 1
Corinthians 2:16 says, "For who has
known the mind of the Lord that he may
instruct him, but we have the mind of
Christ." Well, I think I'll say that I
have the mind of Christ.
In my human intellect, I'm still
growing, but in my spirit, I have the
mind of Christ. And spiritually
speaking, I can declare things that are
the mind of Christ. I can speak the
wisdom of God. I have the mind of
Christ. Say, "Well, Barry, you don't
know everything." No, but God does, and
he lives in me, so I have it. I have the
mind of Christ, and I'm learning to let
function in that. Still growing, but I'm
not going to ever say, "I I'm too dumb
for this." No. Praise God. I have the
mind of Christ. I'm not dumb. I am smart
because Jesus lives in me. That's my
declaration. Words have power.
Deuteronomy 28:2.
This is uh spoken to Israel. And all
these blessings shall come upon you and
overtake you because you obey the voice
of the Lord your God. Now, I get it.
That's under the law. But that's a
promise under the law that only gets
better under grace. There are other
verses from the New Testament we could
add to this, but my confession or my
declaration is blessings are overtaking
me. Psalm 23 says, "Goodness and mercy
are following me." Psalm 5:11 says, "He
surrounds me with favor as with a
shield." There are many, many, many
verses of the blessings of God, Old
Testament, New Testament. So, I just
picked this one out. Blessings shall
come upon you and overtake you because
you obey the voice of the Lord your God.
I walk and talk with God. I expect blessings.
blessings.
So my declaration is blessings are
overtaking me. Blessings are surrounding
my life. I expect blessings every day. I
expect opportunities. I expect good
things to happen. I expect safety. I
expect protection. I expect abundance. I
expect every good thing. Blessings are
overtaking me. When God blesses you,
it's not just words. There's a tangible
spiritual power, a force that is
released. And God has spoken blessing
over my life and blessing over your
life. But you got to believe it to
receive it. If you see yourself as a
poor victim, woe is me. Why won't God
bless me? God did bless you with every
spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1:3, you are blessed. So say
it, declare it, and start to believe it.
And let your words change your heart.
Usually I would say that your words come
from your heart. But your words, if you
would speak the word of God, can change
your own heart and you can can begin to
walk in these blessings of God. Let's go
to Colossians 4:3.
Colossians 4:3. Are you getting
something out of this? I hope you're
jotting these down. I hope you're taking
notes. These are great declarations.
These are a few. There are so many you
can make.
Colossians 4:3 says, ' Meanwhile,
praying also for us that God would open
to us a door for the word to speak the
mystery of Christ for which I am also in
chains. They're praying for
opportunities to preach. So, my
declaration is opportunities are opening
up for me. Opportunities to preach the
word of God are opening for me. Look at
this. I never dreamed I would have a TV
show. Opportunities because I declare
them find me. Blessings find me.
Opportunities to share, to write. I I
now have five published books and never
dreamed that would happen. But
opportunities come to me. I didn't
pursue any of these things. People came
to me. Why? Because it's my declaration.
It's what I believe. I believe good
things will find me. Goodness and mercy
are following me. I'm surrounded with
favor like a shield. I have I have so
many declarations. I'm trying to help
you get started. If you haven't ever
done this kind of thing, begin to
declare things. We'll go through them
again at the end very quickly, but I
want you to understand the power of your
words. Let's go on. First John 4:4.
First John 4:4 says, "You are of God,
little children, and have overcome
them," meaning the forces of the enemy,
"because he who is in you is greater
than he who is in the world." Well, I
can say this in different ways, but my
declaration is the greater one lives in
me or the creator lives in me or the all
powerful one lives in me. The Lord Jesus
Christ lives in me. You can say it in
different ways, but the greater one
lives in you. There isn't anything in
the world greater than who lives in you.
God lives in you. If you're born again,
God lives in you. And you begin to say
that and believe it and say it with
conviction. The greater one lives in me.
The creator lives in me. The Lord of the
universe lives in me. I can overcome
whatever comes against me because the
greater one lives in me. Amen. I mean,
that's how I'm still alive. Yeah, I got
attacked. Yeah, it was a fight, but I
won the fight because God lives in me.
Praise God. You've got to be proactive
sometimes and and as they say, take the
bull by the horns, but you but these are
these are declarations that can really
reroute your life in the right direction
if you need to. All right, let's go to
Proverbs 18:21.
I mentioned it a moment ago, but let's
look at it again. Proverbs 18:21. Death
and life are in the power of the tongue,
and those who love it will eat its
fruit. Your words are determining your
life or your death.
Your words are shaping your future.
That would be my declaration from this
and from many others. But my words shape
my future. It says in Matthew, and I
don't think I have that today, Matthew
12:35, a good man out of the good
treasure of his heart brings forth. Out
of the abundance of the heart, the mouth
speaks. Matthew 12:34, the last part of
that verse, the mouth speaks from the
abundance of the heart. Death and life
are in the power of the tongue. Your
words are shaping your future. Your
words have brought you to where you are
today and they can change. If you need
to change course, change what you're
saying. Change what you're believing.
Begin to declare God's word and don't
listen to anything else. Don't say
anything else. Don't say anything
negative. Don't complain. Don't
criticize. Don't gossip. Get out of the
devil's camp and get into God's camp and
begin to speak God's language of faith
and love and blessing.
these words. I tell you what, if you get
a hold of the revelation of how powerful
words are, your life will never be the
same. You will be the victor. You will
be the head and not the tail. Praise
God. That's what God has called us to
be. He's called us to reign in life.
Amen. I may I don't know if I have that
one coming up. There are so many. We
could write so many declarations. All
right. So, let's go to Mark 11:22 and 23.
23.
Mark 11:22 and 23. It says, "So Jesus
answered and said to them, have faith in
God." Literally, that says, "Have God's
faith." Because what it goes on to
describe is not human faith. It's God's
faith. For assuredly I say to you,
whoever says to this mountain, "Be
removed and be cast into the sea," and
does not doubt in his heart, but
believes that those things that he says
will be done, he will have whatever he
says. Whoa. That is one of the most
powerful two verses in the Bible.
Whosoever. I'm a whosoever. I can speak.
I'm not going to use the gift of words
to be negative and tear things down and
criticize and complain. I'm going to use
the gift of words to declare God's words
and promises over the situations of my
life. So my declaration here is I have
God's faith and I have God's authority.
I have God's faith and I have God's
authority. Barry, how can you say you
have God's faith? Because it's a fruit
of the spirit. Galatians 5:22 and 23,
faith is a fruit of the spirit. The
spirit of God lives in you with his
faith. He didn't come without faith. He
came with his faith. Paul says in
Galatians 2:20, "I no longer live, but
Christ lives in me. And the life that I
now live, I live by the faith of the son
of God." We live by God's faith. Praise
God. And so that's my declaration. I
have his faith. I have his authority.
He's been given all authority and he's
given it to the church. and greater
works we shall do if you will believe
these things. Start declaring the truth.
Start declaring the word of God. Declare
the promises of God. You can find many
more. You can start off with the ones
I'm giving you, but branch out. There
are so many things about family, about
marriage, about your children, about
your prosperity, about your health. By
his stripes, I am healed. I mean, we can
go on and on and on and on. This is what
we should be talking about. This is what
we should be declaring is the promises
of God. the word of God to change the
course of our lives.
Amen. Let's go on. Nehemiah 8:10.
Nehemiah 8:10 says, "Then he said to
them, go your way, eat the fat, drink
the sweet, and send portions to those
for whom nothing is prepared, for this
day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow."
And then here's the part I want to get
to here. For the joy of the Lord is your strength.
strength.
I declare that his joy is my strength.
I'm not talking about circumstantial
happiness here today, gone tomorrow. I'm
talking about the joy of God. His joy
over me, his child. His joy over Jesus.
He loves me as much as he loves Jesus.
It says that in the word in at least two
places. Praise God. So his joy is my
strength. God is rejoicing over me with
joy. He's rejoicing over you. He loves
you. The joy of God is a fruit of the
spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, joy,
joy, joy is a fruit of the spirit. You
don't have to be glum. You don't have to
be sad. You don't have to be depressed.
Choose joy. Way better. Well, I just
don't feel it. It's not about feelings.
It's about a choice. It's about
declaring it and believing it. Choose
joy. Choose the joy of the Lord. It will
strengthen you. You will be a different
person if you walk in joy. There will be
a light in your eye and a smile in your
mouth. You will be a different person if
you choose the joy of the Lord. Amen.
All right, let's do one more. John 14:27.
14:27.
John 14:27. Jesus says, "Peace I leave
with you. My peace I give to you. Not as
the world gives do I give to you. Let
not your heart be troubled, neither let
it be afraid." So what's my declaration?
I have his peace.
Not circumstantial peace, his peace. The
world tries to give you peace now and
then. No, I have his peace. In the midst
of the storm, like Jesus was asleep in
the boat, I can do that, too. I have his
peace. I declare that. I speak that. I
expect that. I agree with that. My faith
is in that in the word of God. I have
his peace. Let me run through these with
you again real quick. The declarations.
I walk in God's love. Amen. I am filled
with his word. Amen. I hear God. I hear
God. I see life and light. I speak life
and light. And I don't know if I even
covered that one, but John 12:50, I know
his command is everlasting life.
Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the
father told me, so I speak. Well, me too
and you, too. I speak light and life. I
may have skipped that one. I am blessed
to be a blessing.
I have health and strength. Amen. I have
God's abundance. Praise God. I do. I am
filled with his spirit. Yes, I have the
mind of Christ. Blessings are overtaking
me. Opportunities are opening up for me.
The creator lives in me, the greater
one. My words shape the future. I have
God's faith and authority. I have his
joy is my strength and I have his peace.
Oh, these are powerful declarations. I
pray everybody would get hold of these
declarations and others find your own
but begin to speak the word of God with
faith. Father, I pray right now that
everyone watching and listening would
take hold of this this revelation of the
power of words and begin to develop
declarations of faith and blessing and
health and healing in Jesus name that we
would transform our lives and our
families. Amen. Amen. Praise God. Boy, I
