0:16 social media psychology is how to
0:17 engineer your storytelling to get a
0:20 viewer to think and act how you want and
0:22 if you can do this on command you win
0:25 now I have over a million followers done
0:26 a billion views and this one thing has
0:29 been the biggest cheat code to my
0:31 success it is the foundational building
0:33 block that powers everything and I'm
0:34 just going to give it to you this is my
0:36 full content psychology Playbook 18
0:39 different tricks that you can use to get
0:41 people addicted to your videos without
0:43 them knowing it all right so I boil down
0:45 every video into six steps think of
0:47 these like Gates or checkpoints and I
0:50 need to get the viewer through these six
0:52 checkpoints before they bounce or the
0:54 video flops now for each one I use a
0:56 combination of different psychology
0:58 hacks to pull them through and I'm going
1:00 to break down each one of those hacks
1:01 and how you can use them in your videos
1:03 okay so the first major checkpoint in
1:04 any video is paino acceptance before you
1:08 do anything else you have to get the
1:09 viewer to feel whatever pain point it is
1:12 you're solving for in the video usually
1:14 the core pain stems from not having
1:16 enough money time health or access those
1:19 are the four horsemen of pain and
1:21 there's many ways to frame a pain but at
1:23 a base level before you do anything else
1:25 in the video the viewer has to feel a
1:27 pain point now I can already hear the
1:29 skep iics in the nose beds what about
1:31 entertainment style content like Mr
1:33 Beast or Minecraft videos there's no
1:35 pain point in those and you're 100%
1:37 right those are pure entertainment plays
1:39 and those can work but my take is that
1:41 if you're playing for pure entertainment
1:43 the competition is much much steeper
1:46 because you're competing against family
1:47 time Hollywood grade movies Mr Beast
1:50 himself the Instagram feed reading in
1:53 bed if you're not an absolute Pro you're
1:55 going to lose the entertainment game but
1:57 if you're solving a specific paino all
2:00 of a sudden you fit into a different
2:01 category in the viewer's brain and if
2:03 your goal is to make money online Value
2:05 First paino driven content is the best
2:08 way to do it okay so checkpoint one is
2:10 making them accept the pain now what are
2:12 the exact psychological hacks to get
2:14 them to do this I have four methods the
2:16 first one is by going one standard
2:18 deviation away from the pain to trick
2:21 them into accepting it so let me explain
2:23 what that means the key with content is
2:24 getting a viewer to opt into accepting
2:27 they have a paino without triggering
2:29 their be s detector it's like robbing a
2:31 bank if you trip the red wire the alarms
2:34 will go off and they're going to call
2:35 the police you remember when I said all
2:36 core pain stem from not having time
2:38 money health or access well the problem
2:40 is if you come out directly and say
2:42 something like if you want to make more
2:44 money do this it often triggers their BS
2:46 detector and they'll dismiss you and
2:48 this happens because most viewers are
2:50 smart and they think to themselves Well
2:52 it can't be that easy right this must be
2:54 nonsense and so then they start second
2:55 guessing what you're saying and this is
2:56 all happening subconsciously because of
2:58 their psychology once the BS detector is
3:01 tripped in their mind you've lost them
3:03 because now they don't trust you so this
3:05 is where the one standard deviation away
3:07 hack comes in sometimes it could be
3:08 easier to get someone to opt into a pain
3:10 by going one standard deviation away
3:12 from what they actually want and having
3:14 them make the leap themselves for
3:16 example let's take the pain of trying to
3:18 grow on social media that's what I talk
3:20 about most people want to grow on social
3:21 media because they think it'll help them
3:23 make more money they don't actually want
3:24 to spend 40 hours a week making videos
3:26 they want the money but the beauty is
3:28 that most people assume that if they
3:30 grow on social media they will make
3:32 money they treat them as the same so
3:34 targeting the pain that they aren't
3:35 growing their social channels fast
3:37 enough is a way to disarm them on the
3:39 money pain without triggering their BS
3:42 detector they will make the leap that
3:44 you helping them with social media will
3:45 help them make more money which is what
3:47 they really want and to prove this is
3:48 the case if you look at all of my videos
3:50 on my YouTube channel anytime I talk
3:52 specifically about making more money
3:54 those videos don't perform very well but
3:56 anytime I talk about specifics of making
3:58 better videos or new social trends for
4:00 growing faster people associate that
4:02 with making more money and those videos
4:03 crush and this isn't an accident this is
4:06 psychology at work so the specific
4:08 tactic here is understanding which of
4:10 the four horsemen base pains you're
4:12 targeting and then figuring out how to
4:13 go one standard deviation away to solve
4:16 a tactical problem all right the second
4:17 hack for trying to get a viewer to
4:19 accept the paino is what I call twisting
4:21 the knife here your goal is to remind
4:23 the viewer of their paino and the
4:26 frustration that they've been
4:27 experiencing because they haven't solved
4:29 it twist the knife the best way to do
4:31 this tactically no surprise is to talk
4:33 about the pain point and that
4:34 frustration as bluntly and directly as
4:37 possible so for example I might say
4:38 something like if you've been struggling
4:39 with storytelling I've been there I know
4:41 how hard it is this reminds them of the
4:43 struggle and deepens the Gap it seems
4:45 obvious but this is adding Tinder to the
4:48 burning fire of them wanting to solve
4:50 the problem also fomo and jealousy are
4:52 other great ways to remind them of this
4:55 frustration and deepen the pain all
4:57 right the third psychology hack for
4:58 getting a viewer to accept the pain
5:00 point is what I call an audience of one
5:02 and this is very simple speak to them
5:05 directly don't use the word I use the
5:07 word you make it about them make them
5:10 the main character make them think about
5:12 themselves and their unique situation I
5:14 use the word you more than any other
5:16 word in my videos it's like a teacher
5:18 yelling hey you to a group of
5:20 kindergarteners right it stuns them
5:21 immediately and makes them lock back in
5:23 I also try in my delivery to make it
5:25 seem like I'm talking directly to you
5:27 and no one else and this comes mostly
5:29 from tone and Rhythm which you have to
5:31 just adjust over time the best way to do
5:32 this is observe two people having a
5:34 conversation and then try to mimic that
5:36 tone and Rhythm nobody wants a preacher
5:38 they want a friend again these things
5:40 seem obvious and I'm going to show you
5:41 an example in a second about why they're
5:43 so powerful but I'm telling you stacking
5:45 these on top of each other creates this
5:47 deep pain Point all right the fourth and
5:49 last hack for getting a user to accept
5:51 the paino is to create the paino
5:54 solution Gap you need them to realize
5:56 that there is both a paino to be solved
5:58 and a gap between between where they are
6:00 today and where they want to be you can
6:01 do this tactically by literally moving
6:03 your hands from one side to the other or
6:05 you could use Graphics or you could
6:06 continue to Pepper examples showing the
6:08 distance between where they are and
6:10 where they want to be as you can tell
6:11 and I've heard this in the comments I
6:12 find the hands thing to be super helpful
6:14 with this now you don't have to do all
6:16 four of those hacks all together every
6:18 single video but by doing these four
6:20 things you make them aware of the right
6:22 pain frame it so it applies to them
6:25 specifically and build an urgency for
6:27 them to figure out how to close the gap
6:29 if you do this you have them Hook Line
6:30 and Sinker through that first checkpoint
6:32 and they are super eager to find out
6:34 what comes next now I'm going to show
6:35 you an example the first three
6:36 checkpoints all happen in the hook of
6:38 the video in the first 10 to 30 seconds
6:40 so I'm really breaking it down but this
6:42 happens super super quickly getting them
6:44 through those first three checkpoints
6:45 let's review the hook that I used in
6:47 this video just a couple minutes ago and
6:49 I'm going to show you exactly how I do
6:51 this in practice by the way the reason
6:52 you're still watching is because I use
6:54 this exact psychology hack to hook you
6:56 so if you're wondering if it works it
6:58 works today we're talking about about

7:33 first line is just me setting context
7:35 that it's about psychology I kind of had
7:36 to do that then immediately I start
7:38 twisting the knife using jealousy I say
7:41 this is the biggest secret weapon used
7:43 by all your favorite creators now I
7:44 could have started by explicitly stating
7:46 the pain itself like you're trying to
7:47 grow on social media through video but
7:49 that is implied by me using Creator so
7:51 at this point subconsciously you feel
7:52 this frustration cuz you want to grow
7:54 like your favorite creators but you
7:55 haven't figured it out I'm reminding you
7:57 of that frustration subconsciously that
7:58 deepens the paino Gap if you want your
8:01 videos to perform better so I'm saying
8:03 it directly right here again I know
8:05 every single person watching this wants
8:06 to make money that's why they're trying
8:08 to grow on social media so this is the
8:09 one standard deviation away from the
8:11 core Four Horseman pain now that rolls
8:13 directly into the paino solution Gap if
8:16 you want better videos paino you need to
8:18 understand psychology solution and this
8:20 is all happening in real time but like 7
8:22 seconds in I've already kind of got you
8:24 deeply reminded of the pain jealous
8:26 about the other creators and interested
8:28 in how to solve it happens fast now
8:30 because psychology as a concept is kind
8:32 of high level and not clear I decided to
8:34 use another line to reiterate exactly
8:37 what I'm talking about and how you can
8:39 apply it to making better videos so I
8:41 say psychology is how you engineer
8:42 people to do and act how you want and if
8:44 you do this you can win again paino
8:46 solution Gap if you do this you can win
8:49 now the last thing to highlight is how
8:50 many times I use the word you in the
8:52 first half of this hook nine times and I
8:56 use the word I zero this is also
8:58 intentional this video video is not
8:59 about me it's about you it's about
9:01 helping you solve the pain I'm not
9:03 talking about me yet now I spent so much
9:05 time on checkpoint one in this video so
9:07 far because again if you can't get the
9:09 viewer to accept that there's a pain
9:11 point you lose do not pass go there is
9:13 no reason to continue you have to nail
9:15 this first now before I go on to the
9:17 next checkpoints why does this work so
9:19 well it works so well because human
9:21 brains are problem-solving machines if
9:23 you give a brain a problem it is
9:25 designed to figure out how to solve it
9:27 by starting with the problem in the
9:29 video script we are hacking the viewers
9:31 neurochemistry to get them to pay
9:33 attention to it and this first step is
9:35 critical because it aligns their
9:36 subconscious on the problem so that you
9:39 can tell them the rest of the story
9:40 before watching the video they may not
9:42 have been problem aware or if they knew
9:44 the problem they weren't consciously
9:45 focusing so you need to angle their
9:47 attention on the problem and then
9:48 continue okay so this is checkpoint one
9:50 at this point the viewer is now deeply
9:52 problem aware and interested in figuring
9:54 out how to solve it all right before I
9:56 move on and there is some gold coming up
9:58 I just got to say guys nobody talks
10:00 about content the way I do I've looked
10:02 so far for people to make videos like
10:04 this and there just aren't any I take
10:06 all of this and I put it for free in the

10:22 soon as the viewer is aware of the paino
10:24 The Next Step checkpoint two you need to
10:26 immediately Sprint to trust you you need
10:29 them to trust you ASAP you essentially
10:31 have between 10 and 30 seconds after
10:33 they accept that a problem is real to
10:35 pass their BS detector for them to trust
10:37 that you're the type of person that
10:39 could solve it if they sense that you
10:40 don't know what you're talking about
10:41 that you don't have proof that you've
10:43 done this before or that you don't have
10:44 the answer they're going to bounce and
10:46 you lose them and this checkpoint 2 is
10:48 another make or break moment in
10:50 Psychology hacking do they trust you so
10:52 what are the ways to get them to trust
10:54 you this is the list in order from most
10:56 effective to least effective the best in
10:58 top of the list is proof that you have
11:00 solved this problem for someone just
11:02 like them this is why On Target case
11:04 studies and testimonials are so critical
11:06 it's why they're all over sales Pages if
11:08 a viewer sees themselves in a success
11:10 story that you have they immediately
11:12 trust that you can do this for them if
11:13 you don't have a testimonial of you
11:15 doing this for others the next best case
11:17 is proof that you've done it for
11:19 yourself this proves that you can do it
11:21 but they may not trust you as much as
11:22 the testimonial if they don't see
11:24 themselves in you the third highest
11:26 trust Builder would be massive social
11:27 followings on any account ideally the
11:30 account you're on or a prei cosign from
11:33 someone that they trust social
11:34 followings basically prove that you are
11:36 trusted and vetted by many at scale this
11:38 helps decrease their fear that you don't
11:40 know what you're talking about the
11:41 fourth is evidence that you have been in
11:43 their shoes and you are not in their
11:45 shoes anymore this doesn't necessarily
11:47 mean that you were the one that
11:48 controlled the transformation but it
11:50 does mean you have underwent the
11:51 transformation so you at least know
11:53 where they have been and where they want
11:54 to go Fifth and this is second from the
11:56 bottom is Common Ground anything you can
11:58 do to build common ground between them
12:00 and you just to build rapport and then
12:02 last but I think still effective is the
12:04 overall look and quality of your
12:06 presentation of the information the
12:08 studio the audio the confidence the
12:11 posture the way the whole package is put
12:13 together if you come off like you know
12:15 what you're doing they will
12:16 subconsciously start to trust you a
12:17 little bit this alone isn't going to get
12:19 you there but it's helpful icing on the
12:20 top and this look thing this is why most
12:22 sales people wear suits there's a reason
12:24 why people do the things they do why
12:26 they put testimonials on their sites why
12:28 sales people wear suits is because
12:29 they're trying to build trust now like I
12:31 said you don't need the full one through
12:33 six list to be true if you have any one
12:35 of the top three you're probably good
12:37 that's all you need but if you don't you
12:38 may need multiple of the bottom three
12:41 the bigger the ask the more trust
12:42 required the deeper the pain the less
12:44 trust required now I have three super
12:46 quick psychological hacks that go one
12:48 level deeper for how you actually
12:50 facilitate this trust transfer so the
12:52 first one around proof this is going to
12:54 sound stupidly obvious but use
12:56 screenshots of the testimonials bank
12:58 statements a B tests before and afters
13:01 social followings some visual proof is
13:03 usually all you need to justify
13:05 credibility that you've done what you
13:06 say and it usually just takes one or two
13:08 of these flashed rapidly and then the
13:10 trust is built now if you have no proof
13:12 you need to build common ground or show
13:13 that you've been in their shoes before
13:15 and even if you try this it may not
13:16 stick but you have to try something the
13:18 best way to build common ground is to
13:20 hack their subconscious Psychology by
13:21 saying things like I've been exactly
13:23 where you are I've gone through this
13:25 same thing I know what it feels like
13:26 right saying those things helps build
13:28 empathy empathy and Common Ground
13:30 between them and you at this point if
13:32 you don't have proof they are running
13:34 the BS filter scan in their head
13:36 absorbing everything trying to vet do I
13:38 trust them do I trust them and I'll be
13:40 honest the longer they're running that
13:41 BS scan the less chance you have so you
13:43 really want to establish trust as
13:45 quickly as possible now in addition to
13:46 building Common Ground an easy way to
13:48 hack their trust like I said is having a
13:50 professional setup this is a huge way to
13:53 increase trust because when you're small
13:55 and you have no credibility you have no
13:57 proof but people see you have a legit
13:58 set up immediately in their mind they're
14:00 wondering wait how does this person not
14:02 have any proof how does this person not
14:03 have any wins he has such a great setup
14:05 she has such a great setup they actually
14:06 start to root for you in a weird way it
14:08 inverts that's why having this
14:09 professional look is so critical again
14:11 if you have crazy proof you can record
14:13 on a lowquality 720p camera in your
14:15 underwear but if you don't have any
14:16 proof this is a way to kind of elevate
14:19 yourself without having done anything
14:20 else again this trust checkpoint is
14:23 critical if the viewer does not trust
14:25 you they're not going to continue
14:26 watching and you lose now one note on
14:28 this at the beginning of your journey
14:29 making content the reason why it takes
14:31 so long to grow initially is because you
14:33 don't have proof for credibility and so
14:35 a low fraction of people trust you long
14:38 enough to listen to your information
14:39 that's why it takes so long to get those
14:41 first thousand 2,000 5,000 subscribers
14:43 but as you get some trust as you grow
14:46 you start to build a following people
14:48 then trust the following and the cosign
14:49 is easier from people and then the
14:51 compounding continues this is why it
14:53 takes so long to grow at the beginning
14:54 because you don't have trust I actually
14:56 didn't start making YouTube videos until
14:58 I had half a million followers on
15:00 Instagram and Tik Tok and this was
15:02 strategic I didn't want to risk spending
15:04 $1,000 per YouTube video on editing and
15:07 thumbnails until I knew that I had at
15:08 least number three on that list of
15:10 credibility now I actually do have
15:13 almost a million followers I actually
15:14 have driven over a billion views I
15:16 actually have done the transformation
15:17 myself and I know the answer so it's
15:19 easy for you to trust me because I have
15:21 these things so I now have proof
15:23 figuring this out for myself I have big
15:25 social followings I've been where you
15:27 were because I used to not Plus I speak
15:29 directly to entrepreneurs and builders
15:31 that were like me so I have established
15:33 Common Ground I also spent a ton of time
15:35 and money building out this set so of
15:36 the list of six 2 3 4 5 six I have all
15:39 of them except the top one and now for
15:41 the top one I have an Academy of
15:42 entrepreneurs that I'm teaching the
15:43 methods to I'm also getting cold DMS of
15:45 people that are using my YouTube videos
15:47 to get traction on their own so very
15:49 soon I'll have the top one as well I
15:50 will have the full six and this is
15:52 really important to me because to me
15:54 everything I do is optimize to build
15:56 trust that's why I give the answers away
15:59 I want everyone to trust me because I
16:00 want to help people I genuinely do and
16:03 so that goes back and forth and it helps
16:05 build the trust immediately okay so
16:07 that's checkpoint two so to reorient us
16:10 the viewer has now accepted that a pain
16:12 point is there they want to solve and
16:13 they now trust you as a potential
16:16 vehicle that could solve it so what
16:17 comes next okay so checkpoint three is
16:20 plan of attack as soon as they feel like
16:22 the paino applies to them and they trust
16:24 you as someone that may solve it
16:25 immediately they want to know if you
16:27 have a plan for doing doing so if you
16:29 don't share a legit plan they will then
16:31 churn so there are two things you need
16:33 to do here in checkpoint 3 you need to
16:35 share that you have a plan and explain
16:37 why your plan is different than anything
16:39 else they've seen before the first one
16:41 is to create the point of difference
16:43 between your plan and everyone else's
16:44 now the easiest way to create the point
16:45 of difference is to create contrast
16:47 between what they've commonly seen and
16:49 what you believe your contrarian take
16:51 right so if they want to accomplish X
16:53 and everyone says to do y and you say to
16:55 do Z and you can convince them that Z is
16:57 better they will hold to see what Z is
17:00 the brain constantly is looking for
17:01 easier better faster ways to solve their
17:03 problem so if you create the problem and
17:05 they trust you as a solve for it and you
17:07 suggest something that may be different
17:08 than what they've seen before they are
17:10 going to be so curious that they will
17:11 wait to find out what it is this is
17:13 building that point of difference the
17:14 contrast the Curiosity Loop whatever you
17:16 call it that's how you do it now the
17:18 other psychology hack here once you
17:19 establish you have a point of difference
17:20 immediately they want to know what is
17:22 your plan now people like structure they
17:24 like order they like alignment structure
17:26 helps them remember things when they
17:28 remember things they feel smart when
17:29 they feel smart they associate feeling
17:31 smart with you as the person that makes
17:32 them feel smart and they trust you more
17:34 so the best way to deliver the plan in
17:36 structure is a list these are my five
17:38 tips for doing X these are my 18
17:40 psychology hacks present your thoughts
17:42 in a structured list the brain is very
17:45 good at understanding numbers and
17:46 chunking things down into steps that's
17:48 how we learn everything as a kid if you
17:50 jump into your tactics in the video
17:52 without teeing it up as a list without
17:53 putting a structure around it people
17:55 will feel lost and confused if they're
17:57 lost and confused they turn so now for
17:59 the last time I'm going to pull up my
18:01 full Hook from this video one more time
18:02 and I'm going to show you how I walk
18:04 through creating the list and creating
18:06 the point of difference okay now I
18:08 actually embedded the point of
18:09 difference a little bit earlier like two
18:11 birds one stone I talked about this in
18:13 the paino section but this is the point
18:14 of difference so I said if you want to
18:16 grow on social media you need Psychology
18:17 but not psychology in a book you need to
18:20 understand how to implement psychology
18:21 to hack viewers brains to do and act how
18:24 you want there's kind of two points of
18:25 difference there there's growth you
18:27 think it's this I say psych ology
18:29 there's psychology you think it's book
18:30 learning I say it's actually
18:32 implementing in videos there's actually
18:33 two subconsciously there and I did it
18:35 earlier instead of later because I'm
18:37 trying to use the fewest amount of
18:38 sentences I figured it was two birds one
18:40 stone now the ordered Lis thing comes
18:41 later obviously this is me saying I have
18:43 18 psychology hacks I have a full
18:45 Playbook this is me presenting the plan
18:47 to you and then right after I finish the
18:49 hook I then reiterate that there are six
18:51 checkpoints and those checkpoints or
18:53 stage Gates I say it again because I
18:55 don't want 18 to feel overwhelming so I
18:57 say six again to break it down that's
18:59 how important it is to explain things
19:00 with structure and this all happened in
19:03 24 seconds across 12 sentences if you
19:06 can pull a viewer through these three
19:07 checkpoints as fast as possible they
19:09 will then be primed for the rest of the
19:10 video okay so at this point the viewer
19:12 has accepted there's a paino to solve
19:14 they trust you and they know you have a
19:16 plan to solve it so there's just one big
19:18 question left and this is one that
19:19 matters so so much do they want you to
19:23 be the one to solve it for them do they
19:25 like you this is likability the number
19:27 one psychological hack or checkpoint or
19:29 bucket to get people addicted to your
19:31 content is to make them like you enough
19:33 to want to watch it people disarm their
19:36 inhibitions when they genuinely like a
19:38 person I'm not just talking about
19:39 physical attraction do they like the
19:41 energy and brand that you bring forward
19:44 this is critical and as someone who's
19:45 typically monotone I have brought my
19:48 energy up to create this likeability or
19:50 at least I hope if you're watching this
19:52 I hope you like the way I'm presenting
19:53 this I have three psychological hacks to
19:56 improve your likeability if you're a
19:57 Creator now the first first one the
19:59 biggest one is energy people act like
20:02 mirrors if you give low energy they will
20:04 receive that and start giving low energy
20:06 back if you have high energy it's
20:08 infectious the easiest way to get people
20:10 to resonate with your content on a
20:11 psychological level is to bring your
20:13 energy of delivery up by like 50% and
20:16 the easiest way to do this this is what
20:18 I do is I record one line at a time it
20:21 sounds crazy but when you talk in
20:23 paragraphs you start to Trail off
20:25 towards the end of your sentences
20:26 reading six seven sentences off the top
20:28 of your your head you just lose energy
20:30 but if you record one line at a time yes
20:32 you have to chop it after but you can
20:34 deliver with high energy every single
20:36 line This is a super super easy hack to
20:39 up your energy now the second best way
20:42 to increase likability is simplification
20:45 again people like when they feel smart
20:47 if you make them feel dumb they will not
20:49 like you it's really that simple this
20:50 means using simple words and short
20:52 sentences so what I do is I repeat my
20:54 points twice if I say something with
20:56 technical jargon I'll repeat it a the
20:58 second time saying it again with simpler
21:00 terms and maybe using a metaphor that's
21:02 a little bit easier to understand and I
21:04 kind of just talk in this way normally I
21:05 think that's one of the superpowers of

21:08 force is actually a really helpful way
21:10 to increase people's comprehension when
21:12 they can hear you and understand you
21:14 they like you more now the third best
21:15 way to become more likable is to
21:17 genuinely just be yourself and I know it
21:19 sounds so basic but people can detect
21:22 when you're playing a character I
21:23 legitimately wear this black hoodie
21:25 every single day this black hat every
21:27 day I talk like this I'm a Content nerd
21:29 I'm a business nerd you cannot fake this
21:31 energy around this stuff and because of
21:33 that you can sense that through the
21:35 camera and you like me more for it
21:37 whether you believe what I say or not
21:39 you like when people talk about things
21:42 they like that's how the brain works
21:43 they just perceive authenticity and this
21:45 is the big thing when you're likable
21:47 people root for you and they want to be
21:49 around you they want you to be the one
21:52 that solves their problems and as a
21:53 Creator when you're trying to identify a
21:56 problem a pain point that they pay
21:57 attention to and solve it this is all
21:59 you're after now if you're not likable
22:01 if you're kind of a grouch you can still
22:03 win but it's going to take so much
22:04 longer because your value and your
22:06 information has to be so good that it
22:07 overcomes the deficiency of your
22:09 personality it's much easier if people
22:11 just like you now the sooner someone
22:12 likes you the better and the easier it
22:14 will be to hold them so it's possible
22:16 they may already come into a video
22:17 having liked you from something else so
22:19 in that case checkpoint 4 is already
22:20 checked off but if this is the first
22:22 thing they're seeing of you they're
22:23 probably going to take 3 to 5 minutes
22:25 and make a call whether they like you or
22:27 not those three things I mentioned are
22:28 ways to improve your chances of someone
22:30 liking you more all right so checkpoint
22:32 five at this point the viewer has
22:33 understood the pain point they trust you
22:35 they understand you have a plan and they
22:37 like you but this is all preal this is
22:40 like the intro stage you were just
22:42 trying to get them to opt in to giving
22:44 you a chance to hear what you have to
22:46 say and now you can see why the hook in
22:48 your video is so important and why it
22:50 takes so much time to dial it in we've
22:53 deployed like 12 psychology tactics up
22:55 to this point just trying to get the
22:57 viewer primed to accept any kind of
23:00 message so the next question checkpoint
23:02 5 is can we get them to pay attention
23:04 long enough to hear what we have to say
23:06 it's crazy when you really think about
23:08 it right you spent all that time all
23:09 that effort all that energy trying to
23:11 get them to pay attention long enough to
23:13 potentially give you the chance to
23:15 deliver a message and still you have to
23:17 fight to hold their attention it's
23:19 pretty crazy but this is kind of the
23:21 most important checkpoint within the
23:23 body of the video is getting them to
23:24 continue to pay attention until the last
23:27 stage so of course have a few psychology
23:29 hacks for getting them to hold their
23:31 attention the first one is to create a
23:33 hunt people's brains work in Loops when
23:35 they open a loop they need to close it
23:37 that is why to-do lists are so nagging
23:39 you write something down on a to-do list
23:40 you fret until it's closed people work
23:42 in open and closed Loops so when you
23:44 need to keep someone interested for 20
23:46 or 30 minutes to watch a full video you
23:48 need to continually open Loops in their
23:50 brain the best way to do this is to lead
23:52 with the most valuable piece of
23:53 information first and then tease that
23:56 there are other things like it buried
23:57 throughout the video that first piece is
23:59 like a dopamine release and it validates
24:01 that it's worth staying then you create
24:03 this hunt these Loops that people have
24:05 to hunt to close to do this tactically
24:08 just continue reminding them about the
24:10 gold at the end I didn't really do it
24:11 well in this video but you can think
24:13 about when people talk about six tactics
24:15 and when they're on number two they say
24:16 and wait for the end because the last
24:17 one's going to be great right that is
24:19 them opening a long-term Loop while they
24:21 close these Min ones they want you to
24:23 stay to close that long-term Loop all
24:25 right hack number 14 is reh hooking in
24:27 previous videos I've talked a lot about
24:28 the importance of reh hooking throughout
24:30 your content because you do all that
24:32 work to lay the initial hook but then if
24:34 you don't rehook everything just
24:36 atrophies down to zero so you have to
24:38 keep reh hooking their interest and the
24:40 best way to do that is to keep
24:41 reigniting that paino solution Gap where
24:44 are they where do they want to be remind
24:46 them where are they where do they want
24:47 to be create contrast against where they
24:49 are where they want to be common belief
24:52 contrar in take continue to create that
24:54 contrast and you'll be able to rehook
24:55 them throughout now the best way to do
24:57 this is that and flip so saying things
24:59 like now that point was good but
25:01 honestly if you don't figure out this
25:02 point it's never going to work right
25:04 continuing to give that zigzag dance
25:06 that's how you rehook them all right
25:08 another way to keep them interested
25:09 throughout and I talk a lot about this
25:11 in my storytelling video which I'll link
25:12 here if you want to check out the during
25:14 the body storytelling a lot of these
25:16 techniques I broke down a lot deeper in
25:18 some other videos but a great way to do
25:19 this is what I call a trans Rhythm if
25:22 you create a desirable rhythm with the
25:24 Cadence of your words they will stay
25:26 because it's soothing to listen to I've
25:27 noticed that that the monotony that
25:29 comes with same length sentences
25:31 actually leads to boredom and then
25:32 people churn so the best way to do this
25:34 is to use your voice as an instrument
25:35 and try to deliver off balance
25:38 enunciation off-balance Cadence to
25:40 create this Rhythm keep them on their
25:42 toes some short sentences and then
25:43 deliver some long Legato sentences some
25:46 compound sentences some quick sentences
25:48 keep them off balance and it creates
25:50 this trans style Rhythm where they're
25:52 just locked into hearing it it's almost
25:54 like music in a way if you look down
25:55 your script and you don't see a jagged
25:57 line with the end of your sentences that
26:00 means all of your sentences are around
26:01 the same length and it creates that
26:03 monotonous plotting feeling you want
26:05 that Jagged line so look down your
26:06 script and make sure you have that all
26:08 right so now we've come to the last
26:09 checkpoint checkpoint six this is what
26:11 you're after the whole reason you do one
26:13 through five is to get people to
26:15 checkpoint 6 checkpoint 6 is getting the
26:17 viewer to take an action so far you've
26:20 established a paino built trust laid out
26:22 a plan got them to like you and
26:24 re-hooked them throughout the video so
26:26 that they could absorb most of your
26:27 value the last step can you get them to
26:30 take the action after all that's why
26:32 we're making content in the first place
26:33 we need viewers to take some action now
26:36 that action could be to subscribe it
26:38 could be to share it could be to sign up
26:39 for a free email list or a lead Magnet
26:41 or a community it also could be to
26:43 convert and transact for a paid product
26:45 right from the video the actions vary
26:47 but we need the viewer to take an action
26:48 if they don't it's not that the rep was
26:50 all for nothing but we don't really Clos
26:53 the process that we were trying to do
26:54 here now I've got three final psychology
26:56 hacks to trick the viewer into taking
26:58 the action the first one is called close
27:00 the loop at the end of the video tell
27:02 the viewer that you have successfully
27:04 closed the paino solution Gap and that
27:06 by doing this they should have
27:08 everything they need to be able to take
27:09 the information in the video and solve
27:11 for it themsel but if they would like to
27:12 increase the speed and get to the
27:14 solution faster then they can take your
27:16 action or purchase your product this
27:18 hack of reminding them that all the
27:19 information is there but if they want
27:21 speed they can pay for it is super
27:22 effective and it works because almost no
27:24 one can absorb 100% of the information
27:26 on the first go round but the whole
27:28 point of the video was to demonstrate
27:30 that you have the end to- endend
27:31 knowledge and 5% of people are going to
27:33 be able to take that watch it three
27:34 times and implement it thems God bless
27:36 them it's the other 95% that want to pay
27:38 for Speed now that they trust you
27:40 that'll take the action the hack is that
27:42 you reminded them that the loop is
27:44 closed because by reminding them it res
27:46 signals that pain point that they wanted
27:48 to solve they will feel like it's still
27:49 unsolved because they haven't absorbed
27:51 all the information and they will look
27:52 to take an action to solve it all right
27:54 my second hack for getting the viewer to
27:55 take the desired action is an unexpected
27:57 surise surprise most of Life boils down
27:59 to expectations verse reality if they
28:02 expected a highquality masterpiece in
28:04 your video but you fell short chances
28:05 are they're not going to take the action
28:07 but if the reality of watching the video
28:09 blew away their expectations especially
28:11 if it was because of how valuable the
28:13 information actually was they are way
28:15 more likely to take the action that you
28:17 suggested this is why I was able to grow
28:19 from 0 to 65,000 Subs on YouTube in like
28:22 two months I try to make all of my
28:24 videos at a 12 out of 10 quality that
28:26 blows people away so this the unexpected
28:28 surprise works every time all right and
28:30 the last psychology tip hack number 18
28:34 is the recap tell the viewer what you're
28:36 going to do do it and then remind them
28:38 at the end of what you did that
28:40 reminding is the recap this is the final
28:42 nail that closes the loop on that paino
28:45 solution Gap and that by doing that it
28:47 reminds them that they should take the
28:49 action if they haven't yet solved the
28:51 pain watch I'm going to show you an
28:52 example right here as I close this but
28:54 I'm only doing it as long as you take
28:56 the action look in the description all
