1:50 about seeing all those lights in the
1:52 line like that and the
1:55 wallpaper There's secret doors
1:57 everywhere here Look there's a couple of

2:01 Anyway let's take you to my
2:04 room which is right here Room number 210
2:10 I mean when you think of the Ritz Paris
2:12 I guess this is what you would think
2:14 with that beautiful antique clock on the
2:17 fireplace the lighting in here the gold
2:19 surround on the mirror and actually it's
2:22 like stepping back in time The lighting
2:24 situation in here is messed up I'll
2:27 explain why in just a second But as you
2:29 walk through the hotel and you walk
2:30 through the corridors it smells amazing
2:33 Now this is where I wish smellvision
2:35 would come in because when I came into
2:37 the room compared to just the hallway
2:39 the smell is completely different And
2:42 it's not nice It's a musty and I feel
2:45 bad saying this cuz this is the Ritz in
2:47 Paris If you had a musty smell
2:49 swingometer where 10 was really musty
2:51 and a bit smelly dirty and one was it's
2:54 a bit musty this is
2:56 like nine I feel bad saying it cuz it's
3:00 an absolutely beautiful room But yeah I
3:02 think we're going to have to open a
3:03 window Let's talk value for money and
3:05 goodies So we have got some goodies in
3:07 the room I am surprised however there's
3:09 no bottle of champagne because between
3:12 me and you it's Gabby's birthday today
3:14 and Gabby is joining me on this trip
3:16 She's downstairs with Casper at the
3:18 minute They're having some food and I
3:19 informed the hotel about the special
3:21 occasion But let's check out some of the
3:22 welcome gifts that I've got I'm quite
3:24 surprised actually for the Ritz because
3:27 that's just a simple chocolate bar with
3:29 Smarties Don't get me wrong it's nice
3:31 but the cake on the other side is a bit
3:33 more ritzy There's a bit of gold leaf on
3:35 there There's the logo of the Ritz that
3:37 looks really nice Chocolate cake Um I do
3:39 have some strawberry nectar And we do
3:43 have some posh water some Evian Close up
3:47 though not very antique but the
3:51 attention to detail right just uh and
3:53 hope the camera picks this up Can you
3:54 see there is a Ritz logo there
3:57 beautifully on the knife and also again
4:01 I don't know whether you can see that
4:02 but there's ritz on the glass Branding
4:05 is on point But just look at these
4:08 chairs Almost feels like they're fit for
4:10 a king or a queen All this gold painted
4:14 and this what looks like gold upholstery
4:17 But the carpet in here wow just looks
4:20 really nice And you know I can't see any
4:24 stains whatsoever You know what I'm like
4:26 i check out these things And it does
4:28 look well almost like a new carpet But
4:30 first of all this is what is great about
4:32 this room It's like going back in time I
4:35 was told that these are the functions
4:38 for the room So you've got the AC off
4:41 and on there Ambience lighting on and
4:44 off lighting room
4:45 service awning I guess that's for the
4:48 balcony Oh and we can control the
4:49 temperature from here as well But we can
4:51 do all of that on the phone as well Look
4:53 at that Isn't that beautiful
4:56 definitely have to take that pen That is
4:58 very nice But the gold continues here
5:00 Look on the on the lamp It's just so
5:04 elegant and so I know this is going to
5:05 sound stupid to say but so French It
5:08 really is lovely These are everywhere as
5:11 well So there's one here There's another
5:14 one over there And there's some when we
5:16 came in If I just go all the way over
5:18 here I'll show you
5:20 These are obviously another way to turn
5:23 the light on and off but so are these
5:26 keys These keys are like in different
5:30 locations Like there's a key here So if
5:33 I turn this key the lights go down And
5:38 if I turn the key this
5:41 way the lights come back on What's great
5:44 about the room is all the hidden doors
5:46 and the hidden mini bar Ladies and
5:49 gentlemen I give you Oh no That's the
5:53 Hang on That's the wardrobe The mini bar
5:55 is here I thought it spread out over two
5:57 Look at that Very elegant indeed What
5:59 have we got in there all the mini bar
6:02 stuff that you could imagine We've got
6:04 nuts pistachios some dried fruit some
6:08 chocolate Oh lint chocolate Wonder how
6:10 much the mints are The mints are six
6:13 euros Oh that's nice Wow Small bottles
6:17 of cognac there That's
6:20 €60 Love the way this is laid out The
6:24 Ritz little handkerchiefs there And then
6:27 the usual mini bar stuff We've got some
6:29 champagne some beer some Red Bull and
6:32 all of that And again for the price of
6:34 this room I would expect that to be well
6:37 at least half complimentary As always
6:41 I'll let you know the price in a little
6:42 bit I'm going to show you the bedroom in
6:44 a minute and the bathroom But first we
6:46 do have a balcony or a little mini one
6:50 anyway where we can stand out Oh Oh
6:53 god What i did not All I did was
6:57 literally undo this and this just

7:04 this has been happened before though cuz
7:06 you can see it But this one's loose as
7:10 well So we don't have the best view
7:12 because the best view would be obviously
7:14 at the front of the hotel but this is
7:15 pretty nice Look at the balconies Look
7:17 at these beautiful flowers Even though
7:19 the room is quite expensive we don't
7:21 have a premium view However that being
7:24 said the front of the hotel is quite
7:27 noisy So actually this is uh this is
7:30 nice being out here overlooking the
7:32 restaurant I think Um it's nice and
7:34 quiet There's a little park down there
7:36 Is it a little park down there or is
7:37 that somebody's house i think it might
7:39 be somebody's house But yeah it's just
7:42 nice to have a balcony really We've got
7:43 a balcony uh in the bedroom too I'm
7:46 going to leave these doors open a little
7:47 bit to let some fresh air in here Okay

7:52 is really nice We've got Casper with us

10:34 phobia about bed bugs because I've had
10:36 some bad experiences Now obviously
10:39 coming to Paris after what happened a
10:41 couple of years a couple of years ago uh
10:43 and the whole bed bug explosion uh to
10:46 say that I'm a little bit nervous is an
10:48 understatement So and this is the crazy
10:51 thing I did ask if they do mattress enc
10:53 casements And bearing in mind they've
10:54 had obviously not necessarily at this
10:56 hotel just disclaimer but in Paris
11:00 itself you know they've had an issue
11:02 with bed bugs but they don't do mattress
11:04 in case And I'm like wow you would have
11:06 thought after that you would So I'm I'm
11:08 nervously going to check the bed and the
11:11 mattress With a bed this size there's a
11:14 lot of checking because they get into
11:16 all these little creases and folds and
11:19 you kind of got to look everywhere But
11:22 I'll do a proper look later and if I do
11:25 find anything I'll let you know Of
11:26 course as you would
11:28 expect Yeah that's nice and comfy Love
11:31 the detailing on the cushions there I do
11:34 love a room that hides other rooms and
11:36 wardrobes within the walls like this has
11:39 done So in
11:41 here somewhere for your luggage and all
11:44 this is this is leather in here Very
11:47 nice Like that a lot And over
11:49 here we have the wardrobe They've got
11:53 one for Casper and one for Gabby Mine's
11:56 in the bathroom These are lovely These
11:59 are really nice Luxury and soft logo

12:03 branding on the hangers Some posh
12:06 hangers in there Oh and we've got some
12:08 slippers as well

12:13 amazing thing about the bathrooms here
12:15 at the Ritz in Paris are the taps I'll

12:32 that's comes out of its mouth

12:47 there's even some rich soap in here Up
12:51 the hallway There's a nice little light
12:52 there I don't think there's anything
12:53 else up here There's a random plug
12:55 socket just here though by the door But

13:04 beautiful Absolutely love the color
13:06 scheme though with the peach towels the
13:09 gold I mean just look at the just look

13:14 taps Unlike anything I've ever seen

13:22 there was real gold but even the plugs
13:24 are gold Branding on the glasses as well
13:26 Those taps though they are so beautiful

13:38 Burj Arab in Dubai All this gold a
13:40 little bit That is one impressive
13:45 tap Wonder if that is real gold They've

13:49 they got the shampoo the condition and
13:50 the bath salts on there as well But the
13:53 way the towels are laid out it's lovely
13:56 If I pull this the
13:58 maid or the
14:01 valet are they just there for show i'm
14:04 surely they don't work Or will someone
14:07 come to the door whilst you're in the
14:09 bath bull shower head Look at
14:12 that That is really nice Got a TV built

16:29 restaurant options well there's a couple
16:30 of restaurants actually in here Uh
16:32 there's a Michelin star restaurant and
16:34 there's a a bit more of a relaxed vibe
16:36 However there isn't overly a dress code
16:39 in that restaurant but we thought well
16:40 we're Paris we might as well dress up
16:43 And to be honest because it's Gabby's
16:44 birthday and you do look incredible as
16:47 always And you do too It's not about me
16:51 it's about you No one would guess that
16:52 she's 40 It's all right I bleep that So
16:55 you won't know Gabby's real age Although
16:57 you probably do actually if you follow
16:58 Gabby The hotel hallways are a bit like
17:00 a labyrinth I just got lost cuz I tried
17:03 to go and check out the swimming pool Um
17:05 it's extremely busy down there right now

18:56 this which is a flan But then I've

19:02 is not the cake But this is a cake that
19:04 they give complimentary for people how
19:06 celebrating a birthday
19:08 So that's great But what's not great is
19:10 that now Gabby knows about
19:13 the birthday cake surprise that's coming

31:58 it in France breakfast was a little bit
32:00 disappointing It didn't taste overly
32:02 that great Um my toast was and I'm not
32:05 going crazy it was stale right it was
32:07 pretty tough Yeah it was like eating
32:09 cardboard Gabby found it difficult to
32:11 eat her breakfast because it was all in
32:12 bowls So she had her poached eggs in a
32:14 bowl She had the mushrooms in a bowl I
32:15 mean I I had mine all on plates so I
32:17 guess it was a bit more easier to
32:18 maneuver but you were kind of going to
32:20 each plate When you need to cut things
32:22 up it's a little bit hard eating your
32:24 breakfast from a small bowl It would
32:27 have cost €75 each um if we hadn't got
32:31 it included in the room rate which I'll
32:33 come to in just a second included in the
32:35 breakfast menu you also get like a fruit
32:38 bowl as well Um I found that quite
32:40 disappointing cuz when I think of fruit
32:42 bowls especially in like a highass hotel
32:44 I expect raspberries um blueberries
32:47 blackberries you know that sort of thing
32:49 Only I got very finely chopped apple
32:52 some very tiny tiny pieces of kiwi fruit
32:54 and some lemon and melon caked in water
32:58 So it was almost like a tin had been
32:59 opened and poured in as it was really
33:02 watery Let's talk about the room The
33:04 room was beautiful It really was And it
33:06 was like everything I can imagine what
33:08 the Ritz Paris to be like Yeah When you
33:10 walk towards the room through the
33:12 corridors through the hallways it smells
33:14 lovely And then it hit you as soon as
33:16 you walked into our room the smell stops
33:18 And it was this fusty musty not very
33:22 nice smell Now I know you're thinking a
33:24 musty smell is a musty smell but it was
33:26 like a dirty musty smell I'm saying the
33:28 room was dirty but I think maybe it was
33:30 just some of the furniture in there as
33:32 we could see that there was quite a lot
33:34 of crumbs down The carpets No the carpet
33:36 looked new We did find out though that
33:39 the um for some odd reason though the
33:41 toilet didn't smell very fresh Like as
33:42 soon as you walked into the toilet as
33:44 you open the door you could smell the
33:46 drains which was a little bit
33:48 disappointing Um mind you I've had that
33:50 in a couple of really nice I think I had
33:52 that in Monaco when I stayed um at the
33:55 hotel de Pari I was like "Yeah the
33:57 toilet you can smell the drain." The
33:59 Swan taps though can you get them
34:01 anywhere like in IKEA or something
34:03 because wow they are You can't get them
34:05 in IKEA but they were amazing They I
34:07 don't know whether that's real gold or
34:08 not Someone will tell me in the comments
34:09 Yeah I mean let's face it um the room
34:11 itself minus the smell and the mattress
34:14 enc casement was fit for a queen And to
34:16 be honest the smell kind of did subside
34:18 after we opened the doors a little bit
34:20 for a while and let the the let some
34:22 fresh air in pool area or the Ritz Club
34:25 as it's known Uh and the spa was wow
34:27 that was just so beautiful The only
34:30 thing I'm gutted about is we're here to
34:31 celebrate Gabby's birthday and um well
34:34 they kind of ruined the surprise for her
34:35 last night as they turned up to the room
34:38 with a complimentary birthday cake Was a
34:41 birthday flam And then I got confused
34:43 and thought that was the birthday cake
34:45 that I paid for later but it we we found
34:48 out that it wasn't But the surprise I
34:50 guess has already been ruined Oh I still
34:53 really liked it anyway And then the
34:55 actual birthday cake that came out that
34:56 cost just over €50 Was it worth the
34:59 price uh what's the word phory It was
35:02 really nice though It was different
35:04 wasn't it yeah it was really lovely One
35:06 of the things I was so shocked about was
35:08 I wasn't expecting to find some hair
35:11 straighteners that I could use in there
35:13 That's the first hotel I've ever stayed
35:14 in where usually there's a haird dryer
35:16 Never seen But there was nowhere for you
35:18 to get ready Like there wasn't a makeup
35:19 desk No I had to do it in the bathroom
35:22 which was a bit you know a bit cram at
35:24 time because even though we were in a
35:26 suite and it seemed it appeared to be
35:28 spacious Everybody needs to get into
35:30 that area So it's not great when you're
35:31 trying to get ready There was no kettle
35:33 in the room but they did bring one up Uh
35:34 there was complimentary tea and coffee
35:36 which nobody told us about I just
35:37 happened to find by chance So how much
35:40 did it cost for one night at the Ritz in
35:43 Paris this came to
35:48 €2,999 Obviously you're paying for the
35:51 brand the Ritz It's in a great location
35:53 I mean you can walk to the Eiffel Tower
35:55 within like 30 minutes Um and you're on
35:58 the Shondise and all the other part
36:01 sightseeing places of Paris you'd want
36:03 to see So it's great to have a walk to
36:05 We like walked there last night to see
36:07 um the the Eiffel Tower It was quite
36:09 nice Yeah Having a drink last night as
36:11 well Um we wanted to have a drink in the
36:13 bar but unfortunately when you are
36:15 staying at the Ritz and you do fancy a
36:16 drink in the bar you do need to book
36:18 which we didn't realize because in the
36:20 past when we've been staying at a hotel
36:22 we just thought that we could randomly
36:23 just turn up and have and normally for
36:25 hotel guests like the Rits in London um
36:28 they'll find you a spot But but it was a
36:30 Saturday night They were really busy
