0:01 Uh, welcome all. We're here with >> Yeah.
0:02 >> Yeah.
0:02 >> What's your name? >> Steven.
0:03 >> Steven.
0:04 >> Steven. How old are you?
0:06 >> I'm 68.
0:08 >> And what do you do for a living?
0:10 >> I am a leadership mentor.
0:12 >> A leadership mentor. All right. Well,
0:14 we're here to speak about the UTAS move.
0:17 So, my question to you is uh what is the
0:19 UTAS move in your opinion?
0:22 >> Um, it should
0:24 trying to define its future and where it
0:28 should be in future for a university in Tasmania.
0:29 Tasmania.
0:32 All right, perfect. And what are your
0:34 personal thoughts about the move? Are
0:36 you with or against the move?
0:39 >> I think there's good good points to both
0:41 sides of the story. I can see that
0:43 people in in Sandy Bay would like it to
0:44 remain because it's good for business
0:46 and all the rest of it.
0:48 >> Um I can see why UTS would want to move
0:51 to the city because um makes it into
0:54 much more of a city centric um university.
0:56 university.
0:59 >> Uh all right. And uh do you believe
1:03 there's uh any benefits of staying uh at
1:05 the Sandy Bay campus?
1:08 >> Um depends who you're asking. If you're
1:10 asking Sandy Bay residents, then there's
1:12 lots of reasons why it should stay. If
1:15 you ask people, if you ask I think the
1:18 board or the people who are trying to
1:20 secure the future of UTAZ, they would
1:22 say there's good reasons to move. So it
1:24 depends who you are.
1:27 >> Sorry. um to answer that question.
1:30 >> All right, perfect. And uh we do know
1:33 that the vault has been concluded and
1:36 the there is no UT. They have said no.
1:38 >> Well, they've moved some things.
1:40 >> They have moved. They have moved some things.
1:40 things.
1:42 >> You mean they they've stopped they've
1:44 stopped the continuing move? Yes. But
1:46 they're still doing stuff in in the city.
1:47 city.
1:49 >> Speaking about the continuing of the
1:52 move, uh you have just said that some
1:53 colleges have moved. Do you believe
1:56 there was any benefits from that move?
1:59 Uh whether it is from the university or
2:01 the business's residence
2:03 >> if absolutely yes
2:05 >> there is benefits.
2:08 >> Okay. Uh right we'll pause the video
2:09 right now. >> Y
2:09 >> Y
2:13 >> and finally if you were to explain to uh
2:17 a newcomer to Hobbot uh and simplify the
2:20 UTAS move topic as a whole how would you
2:25 do so? I would say that um Utaz were
2:28 trying to relocate the university into
2:31 the city of Hobart rather than Sandy Bay
2:33 and there were a number of people in
2:35 Sandy Bay, a lot of people and a lot of
2:37 prominent people who didn't like that
2:41 idea. So therefore we had a an argument
2:44 or a debate on two sides of an argument
2:48 and yes um the co came in the middle of
2:50 that. There's a whole lot of other
2:53 things that happen. Um, and so yes, it
2:54 means that it's not happening in the way
2:57 that they initially envisioned.
2:59 >> All right. Well, thank you very much.
3:00 >> Is that helpful?
3:02 >> Yeah. Perfect. Any last comments?
3:03 >> No, it was a bit of fun.
