Uh, welcome all. We're here with >> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> What's your name? >> Steven.
>> Steven.
>> Steven. How old are you?
>> I'm 68.
>> And what do you do for a living?
>> I am a leadership mentor.
>> A leadership mentor. All right. Well,
we're here to speak about the UTAS move.
So, my question to you is uh what is the
UTAS move in your opinion?
>> Um, it should
trying to define its future and where it
should be in future for a university in Tasmania.
Tasmania.
All right, perfect. And what are your
personal thoughts about the move? Are
you with or against the move?
>> I think there's good good points to both
sides of the story. I can see that
people in in Sandy Bay would like it to
remain because it's good for business
and all the rest of it.
>> Um I can see why UTS would want to move
to the city because um makes it into
much more of a city centric um university.
university.
>> Uh all right. And uh do you believe
there's uh any benefits of staying uh at
the Sandy Bay campus?
>> Um depends who you're asking. If you're
asking Sandy Bay residents, then there's
lots of reasons why it should stay. If
you ask people, if you ask I think the
board or the people who are trying to
secure the future of UTAZ, they would
say there's good reasons to move. So it
depends who you are.
>> Sorry. um to answer that question.
>> All right, perfect. And uh we do know
that the vault has been concluded and
the there is no UT. They have said no.
>> Well, they've moved some things.
>> They have moved. They have moved some things.
things.
>> You mean they they've stopped they've
stopped the continuing move? Yes. But
they're still doing stuff in in the city.
city.
>> Speaking about the continuing of the
move, uh you have just said that some
colleges have moved. Do you believe
there was any benefits from that move?
Uh whether it is from the university or
the business's residence
>> if absolutely yes
>> there is benefits.
>> Okay. Uh right we'll pause the video
right now. >> Y
>> Y
>> and finally if you were to explain to uh
a newcomer to Hobbot uh and simplify the
UTAS move topic as a whole how would you
do so? I would say that um Utaz were
trying to relocate the university into
the city of Hobart rather than Sandy Bay
and there were a number of people in
Sandy Bay, a lot of people and a lot of
prominent people who didn't like that
idea. So therefore we had a an argument
or a debate on two sides of an argument
and yes um the co came in the middle of
that. There's a whole lot of other
things that happen. Um, and so yes, it
means that it's not happening in the way
that they initially envisioned.
>> All right. Well, thank you very much.
>> Is that helpful?
>> Yeah. Perfect. Any last comments?
>> No, it was a bit of fun.
