this is skill for compounding an oral

suspension with a maximum time to

complete of 15 minutes

step 1 is obtain the completed recipe or

completed formula via the scenario using

the master formula sheet step 2 is to

check the prescribed dosage with the

pharmacist who will be the judge in this

scenario I need to use six tablets that

step four is to obtain the needed

equipment for this skill step five is to

use alcohol-based hand sanitizer for

hand hygiene and step six is to Don

sterile powder free gloves step seven is

to tritter eight or reduce to a fine powder

powder

step eight is to add a small amount of

suspending vehicle to levitate or grind

the powder until a smooth paste is

formed step nine is to continue to add

suspending vehicle until the product is

liquid enough to transfer into a

graduated cylinder step 10 is to pour

step 11 is to rinse the mortar several

times with suspending vehicle and add

that to the product in the graduated

cylinder step 12 is to verify the amount

of the suspension at eye level and step

13 is to pour the compounded suspension

step 14 is to select the appropriate

label from those provided and a fix one

label to the medication bottle and have

the judge verify the accuracy of your

label step 15 is to select the

appropriate auxilary label from those

provided and a fix that to the

medication bottle again asking the judge

to verify the accuracy step 16 is to

clean the area and the equipment using

soap and water and return the equipment

to its proper place

demonstrate proper hand-washing and that
